We were shopping for a RV while looking online we spotting two in the Kingston location within two minutes of online shopping I received a call from them I said I will come in and look I do not want phone calls but I did receive 3 more calls I went to the dealer ship and walked around and could not find anyone to help us finally on leaving I was finally approached we spent 3 minutes with him. While online we noticed better prices at a local rv dealer we went we were carted around we bought the next day I get a call from this joint again and this time I said I already bought my RV and hung up she called back 3 times I told here I did not want to talk to her she actually got nasty I will never go here again
I wanted to buy a water heater for the motor home. They had it on sale, marked down from over $700 to around $650. I contacted them but they were unwilling to give reasonable prices. I bought it from another store for $600 shipped. They mark prices up to put on a sale where you still pay too much.
I bought a 12 volt fan and from early on the low speed side of the switch was intermittent. Now both speeds are intermittent.
I bought a shampoo dispensor and with in a couple months one of the pumps catches.
Buying their membership, I found it was cheaper to take the motor home to a tire store than to get discounts through Good Sam.
I have found nothing being a member helps me with and they will automatically renew your membership once they get your credit card number.
The only way to fix a store like this is to not do business with them. Either they will go out of business or they will develop a respect for the customer.
We drove an hour to buy a camper and upon entering the business, all employees were watching Chiefs game and ignored us. They didnt move until game was over. We went across the street and found what we needed. See photo below. These are not customers rather employees.
Here's the jist of our story, if you want to read: A year ago we traded our 36' travel trailer in at Camping World in Wood Village, OR for a brand new Jayco Jayflight. We took a huge hit on the trade-in (we got less than 50% of what we still owed on the old - but in decent shape - trailer), but needed a smaller trailer. After a nightmare with financing the new trailer, we took a huge financial hit registering it in Colorado. A year later, the "maintenance-free" batteries are shot, the water pump doesn't work, and the refrigerator was installed incorrectly, and doesn't work... it has been at the Longmont Camping World for repairs all summer (because the Camping World in Golden refused to return my numerous requests for an appointment in the Spring), and they just told us they have to remove the entire roof due to damage from the refrigerator! It is 1 year old, and an expensive piece of garbage. I'm so disappointed! We were told the roof and refrigerator should be covered under warranty, but not the garbage batteries they put on it, and not the water pump (even though we winterized it according to the owner's manual). We were told this was a "well-built" trailer, but that is obviously a lie we were told so the salesperson could get his commission. I'll NEVER spend another dime at Camping World!
Purchased 27 x 54 replacement tub for mobile home. Description says WHITE. It is NOT. It is almond. So flimsy and cheap contractor had to build frame to support it. NO customer service response. Wrote review on website. Not posted. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! 1st photo is what they describe. 2nd is what I received.
We purchased a 2019 travel trailer from Camping World of North Charleston, SC in May 2019. We notified Camping World and the providers on May 23,2019, in writing, of our intent to cancel the Travel Trailer Service Agreement, the Exterior/Interior Protection Plan and the Good Sam Tire & Wheel Service Contract. The dealership staff attitude turned dismissive toward us at that time.
We were notified on June 6,2019 that the cancellations were approved. As of today, no refunds have been made to the lien holder bank. The contract requires Camping World to pay a certain amount each day beyond the initial refund amount for their delays. They are in breach of the contract and obviously could care less.
I recommend that anyone considering purchasing an RV to look elsewhere. Their customer service is horrible and I wish that we would have taken the advice of the people that have posted complaints. Do yourself a favor and do not buy from Camping world.
I took my rv to campingworld I sc and who ever was doing sevevice to it ran into another rv, if I hadn't went up there they would have not told me what they have done, Now it is back up at campingworld so they can fix the damage, I called them yesterday an talked to miceal who is there service manager he told me he would call me and he never retured my call, this is reall a sorry place to get your unit fixed I wouldn't buy nothing from them, don't buy any rvs form them there out right sorry, buyer beware!
I purchased a toy hauler from the Rapid City SD site. They charged me for cleaning the camper but didn't ask me if wanted it done. $1500 is a lot when i could have cleaned it myself. They promised to fix some rust on the brand new camper and that was about 4 months ago still not fixed and they don't return my calls. I am reporting this to the BBB and i encourage others with complaints to do the same. This needs to be stopped and quickly before even more people are ripped off.

Camping World customer service is a term they don't get. My camper has been there since the end of May for minor repairs; they don't answer the phone, return calls, and it's still not ready. I think I'll charge them for the time I didn't have use of my camper! Maybe they're out camping in it...!
We purchased a used class C motorhome from Camping World in Summerfield, FL. The sales experience was fine. The salesman was actually very knowledgeable. We were very excited about our purchase. However, when we got to the financing and insurance part of it, that was another story. The price on the tag was $42,900. We did our homework and felt this was a fair price so we didn't negotiate on that. However, when the contract was written up the sales price was listed at $43,900. When we asked about the difference of $1000, the finance person mumbled something that we couldn't even understand. That was our first red flag and we should have walked away at that point. Then came the really fun part. The finance and insurance person tacked on a $12,000 extended service plan, offered us a very high interest rate, and would only give us the monthly payments... not the actual cost of the added items. We had to insist on a breakdown of the items that were tacked on. We ended up taking a $6,000 extended service plan and were told that 6.24% was the absolute best rate we could get. We have 840 credit scores and again should have walked away. Two days later we called to cancel the extended service plan and we were told that the dealership had already been paid by the bank (even though we did not pick up the unit until a week later). We called day after day to set up the delivery, but not a single call was returned. We finally just showed up at the dealership to see if the unit was ready. We were told it would take 16 weeks for the refund to be processed. We signed a cancellation form for the ESP, but the dealership did not send it in until we returned 6 weeks later asking why the third party administrator had not received the cancellation form. At that point they sent in the form. We learned a lot from this experience. We have bought a used unit from an individual since then and got our own ESP and financing at 4.79%. If you find your perfect RV at Camping World, as we did, buy the unit there, but get your own financing and ESP. DO NOT let Camping World talk you into that. We learned a costly lesson.
Needing a new awning I looked around and found Camping World had what I wanted. It was a Dometic 8500 and a metal weather shield. On the phone I ordered it and was told that to get the special price I would have to join Good Sam. $29.00 was added to the order and I told my installers it was on the way. I was a little concerned that I didn't receive an email conformation but waited and several days later I received a call inquiring about my delivery address. Humm, we double checked every detail and now the had the address wrong. Or did they? This was when they opted to inform me that the weather shield was NOT included, Humm again. As you can imagine I was outraged, I demanded someone in management and I got a rude person named Larry. He told me it was not included and I informed him that my calls are recorded. I told him to review the company recordings where at least 3 people had confirmed the order included an awning AND a metal weather shield. A couple of days and I contacted him again and he admitted the sales people had told me the weather shield was included. He said "we made a mistake so we will ship the weather shield for only $150 more. Having me over a barrel I ok'd the order and requested to speak to someone in management. I was put in contact with Ellen Smith who said she would look into it and advise me of her decision. It has now been almost a month and I have heard nothing as far as a decision, just silence. I even requested to speak to her supervisor and have not heard from him/her.
Beware when doing business Camping World, read the reviews first.
Bought a new Jayco travel trailer in January. Table was broken when we purchased it but they said it would be fixed before we picked it up. Picked it up and table wasn't repaired. Made a schedule to bring it back to have the table repaired. Also had the dewinterize done which cost over $70. Brought back to have table repaired and ask why the onboard water pump wasn't working. Turns out that they never did the dewinterization which would explain why I had to flush the system to get all the anti-freeze out. Pump wasn't working because they never turned the valve which would have been done had they actually dewinterized it. Argued for an hour with the service manager to get my $70 back for the work that wasn't done while he rolled his eyes and treated me as an annoyance for taking up his time. Jo, the service desk woman lied to me and said that they never flush the system of the anti-freeze but the technician said in front of her and the service manager that they always flush the system after a de-winterize. No respect to customers who just spent nearly $30,000 and to argue and lie is beyond just dishonest.
Camping World is good at one thing... telling you what you want to hear. Otherwise, they have failed in every possible way. Right from the get-go, it was high pressure sales in Toledo, OH. They want to push you into payment plans even when you have CASH to buy the fifth-wheel you want. Once our RV arrived to us in Arizona, we quickly realized that it had been leaking for MONTHS, causing interior damage and mold. Taking it to the local (Avondale) Phoenix Camping World for warranty repairs was a nightmare. It sat on their lot for almost FOUR MONTHS while they lied to us, claiming they were awaiting parts, when in actuality they had failed to answer emails from the manufacturer so the trailer was left to sit INDEFINITELY until we tracked down the right people at the manufacturer and basically did their job for them. When we finally got the trailer back, one of the other major repairs was not done properly and we were left at a campsite with a kitchen slide that would not retract. On top of it all, I (stupidly) ordered an expensive water filter through them. After waiting close to 3 weeks for the filter, I contacted their catalog customer service. They guy was unprofessional and unhelpful. He basically just said he'd call me back because my item was supposed to ship from the manufacturer. After waiting hours for a call that would never come, I had to call the manufacturer directly and was able to get my water filter shipped to me.
STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY FROM EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF THIS COMPANY. THEY CAN'T SERVICE THEIR PRODUCTS, NOR CAN THEY EVEN SEND YOU THE ITEMS YOU BUY. I'm done with this horrible company for good.
Bought a Road Warrior Fifth Wheel toyhauler from CW. Bedroom slide ALWAYS leaked. We tried to find the issue and actually put a tarp over that area as we wanted to USE OUR CAMPER. 2 weeks after 1 year warranty went out we took it to CW in Raleigh NC. They had it for 3 months. We also asked that they replace the inverter, which they did BUT... the transfer switch that controls the inverter was disconnected (all wires had electrical tape on them and were just hanging, unattached). We picked up our camper and were told it was done. Got home and found that mess. Sent photos, made calls, were assurred they would send someone to fix. Not only did they not do that, they finally said you order it and we will reimburse. THEY DID NOT! It is now May 21,2019 and they have done JACK $#*!! I will never spend one more dime at that place.
And the old saying goes... An upset customer reaches over twice as many people as a happy one! Look out CW! I am more than upset. If I could rate you a negative number it would be - 3,000!
I have contacted camping world of Asheville 11 times in 4 days. And have yet to have a call returned or get to speak to someone who can set up a service appointment and sell me what I am looking for. All I want is 5 tires and to get my awning fabric replaced. They say they don't have any 15" tires in stock but can order them and that I need to talk to parts. Same with the awning. Yet I can't speak to parts, and they don't return calls. I call in the morning they say they don't come in until 10am. I call back after 10 am, they are helping someone, we will have them call you back. No call back. I call at lunch, they are at lunch. I call in the afternoon, they are with a customer. I call after 10 the next day, they say you should have called sooner. All I want is normal service. But at this point I am ready to find another dealer.
I purchased a 2019 Class A RV with Camping World and my refrigerator stopped working a few weeks after I purchased the RV. I placed the RV in the shop in October 2018 and it is May 2019 and they still do not have any answers for me. The employee turnover is insane and the customer service is the absolute worst that I have ever seen in my entire life. This place is a total joke and the sad thing is that everyone working there knows it.
Went to Camping World in Kingston, NY. We had an appointment but we were treated like they didn't have time for us and they were rude. It was the beginning of February and freezing out. We were left to look at the trailer ourselves with no electricity to check things out. We were looking to purchase a Keystone Raptor which was listed for about $80,000. We were left in an office waiting a few different times for over half an hour at a time. When someone would show up to talk to us, they didn't answer any questions and would act annoyed that we were asking questions and get up and walk out and we were left sitting again. We put $500 cash down for a deposit and they said they we would have to submit an application. We told them we had very good credit and they said they ran it and it wasn't that good. When they called back, they said they were surprised that we had such good credit. (Well did they run it or didn't they when we were there?) They kept contradicting themselves. We then told them a couple of days later that we decided not to go through with the sale as we weren't happy with the way we were treated. We asked about the deposit and was told they would send it right out. We have called and emailed several times trying to get the deposit back. No one ever responded to us and it is now May and we still have not received the deposit.
We just bought a 4 year old Vegas 25.2 from Camping World, Mesa AZ. They couldn't be any nicer and helpful. My wife and I visited several several dealerships and walked through 100 of Class As and Cs. We know that non of the others would have spent the hours with us, like Wallie, going over every system of the one we we decided to buy and as Tony did to fixed everything to like new condition. Any of the other dealerships would have charged for these services.
I bought a class A motor home at the Garner, NC store a few years ago. I have a lot of the same complaints others have with weeks to even look at your unit even when you have a reservation then parts take forever to get.
The sales force is friendly and very happy to take you money, but once the sale is over good luck with service.
What really gets to me on a deep down person level is that no one at the store even acknowledges you existence. I have yet after many years had the lady at the front door to seven say hello how are you doing!
Employees that appear to care about you are worth their weight in gold.
This has to be a systemic problem because you have to be trained to be so rude and impersonal.
Why buy where you are not appreciated... Their business model is sorely lacking so take you wallet and shop somewhere else.
We had a choice of a lot of RV places to choose from and I started checking places online. The salesman Zack Lee contacted me within a few minutes. He asked what I was looking for and showed me 3 Rv's immediately. We corresponded through text messages until my husband and I were able to go see the campers in person. Zack was so helpful, explained things thoroughly, had so much patience allowing us to go from RV to RV comparing things we liked about the various campers. I got sick with the flu, then walking pneumonia and he sent texts almost everyday checking on me to see how I felt. Once we were able to get back over to the store he showed us back around as campers had come and gone. He worked with us every step of the way until we finalized our purchase today. He showed us how EVERYTHING worked in each camper. There is no way that any other salesman could have been any more attentive or knowledgeable than Zack. I will say everyone at Camping World was nice and friendly and always offering to help. While Zack showed us each camper he explained what things were, where things were, how various things worked, what came with the campers and what didn't come with them. We enjoyed our buying experience at Camping World because of Zack Lee.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
