"DO NOT BUY from BUILD.CA.
A few days ago I made a purchase on Build.ca expecting the order to be shipped same day (guarantee) or at least within 24hrs since the items were in stock. My credit card got charged immediately for the items, so my order was approved. After a day of waiting, I did not get receive a shipping notification, so I chat lined with their Customer Service department and made an inquiry regarding the status of the shipment. The CS rep looked into the order and stated that she will have to contact the Shipping department, she came back to me later in the day with an email to inform me that the shipping would be an additional $138, even though on my invoice it stated $00. I emailed the CS rep to inform her that the order comes with free shipping. The CS rep responded with a statement that there was a pricing discrepancy on their website and that if I did not want the order that would be canceling the order without my consent/approval. Just another way of saying since you are unwilling to pay for shipping, we can say anything to cancel your order

This company Build.ca is nothing more than a bunch of scammers who falsely advertise products on their website and try to scam the purchaser out of additional monies ie. Shipping charges, if that doesn't work - wrong prices on their website. Falsly claiming useless shipping guarantees. They will come back to a customer saying look at our terms and conditions, but BUILD.CA seems to have forgotten that there terms and conditions must meet provincial laws and that Provincial Consumer Protection laws supersede any of their terms and conditions. I would not recommend anyone to buy from BUILD.CA"

Right before the height of the outbreak of the COVID-19 Virus, our ice maker was delivered to our property. That week the governor shut down the state. This Monday they came back to install the cabinet and icemaker (wearing masks and being very thoughtful) only to find the ice marker had been damaged in delivery. Looks like a forklift must have it the side of it. The company refused to replace because it was a week over the 30 days. NO ONE was working or around to look at it. So WRONG!

I had a choice between buying from this website and home depot. They were the same price and same taxes. Total came out to exactly the same. Only difference was build.com would get here Thursday. Home depot would get here Friday. So I bought from build.com to try them out. The sink turned out to be too small by an inch. I tried to return the item and got charged 10 dollars for the return shipping. I could have just bought the sink from home depot and had a hassle free return for free.

Lesson: Buy from home depot or lowes if given the choice.

We took delivery of an appliance. The creating was great and the container was in perfect shape so we did not open the box. When we did the glass front of the refrigerator was shattered. The internal components were not secured properly and some how broke the glass. When we reported the damage to Build.com they basically told us we were out of luck and they would not do anything. WOW. Never again will I buy anything from Build.com

I ordered multiple items over a period of months while doing home renovations. The selection of items and prices are great. Items always came timely and looked as they did in picture and description. One package got lost in the mail and it only took a quick online chat w a customer rep to get the item resent and this was done at no charge. I really appreciated the excellent service, item selection and prices!

I purchased two lights and returned them two weeks later - unopened. I have confirmation from UPS that they were received and signed for. Build refuses to give me credit for both lights. I called three times and each time the 'customer service reps' said they'd look into this and get back to me. They didn't. I'm still trying to resolve situation through my charge account provider since Build thinks I should pay for lights I returned.
BOTTOM LINE: In my experience, Build.com is dubious and dishonest. STAY AWAY!

I was working on a kitchen remodel when I needed to order lights. I ordered 6 lights to evaluate before ordering the remaining lights. Build.com shipped the 6 lights but then would not fill the remaining 14 light order. Their website says they have inventory, but they do not. Now I have a partial project completed and no idea when the remaining lights will arrive.

Oh, by the way I paid for all of the lights despite not having an estimated date of arrival.

The company is not worth doing business with. I would recommend going elsehwere.

I ordered 3 products. Two out of three were cancelled by Build.com after the fact and one was sent before the previous were cancelled. The items were meant to go together. So when I put in for a return, I get charged for the return shipping?! Really?! What kind of business does that to it's customers. Will never buy from this company again and do my best to make sure no one I know does the same. Terrible customer service. They were nice on the phone about the return and "convenienly didn't tell me I'd be on the hook for the shipping... Angry customer.

I purchased a wall mount sink from build.com after looking at a large selection trying to find one small enough for this particular location. I mistakenly entered in a model number and ordered one After going through all the incentives since I'm a contractor. This is my very first and only order. I paid for the product and realized that it was a bit too deep from front to back only 15 minutes or so after placing the order. I would assume that is early enough to change it right? Wrong! I called after realizing I selected the wrong product and was told I could purchase another one and pay a fee for the return of the incorrect model. Once I received it I sent it back that day. 2 weeks passed... NO REFUND. So of course I called to confirm that they have the sink they did and I inquired about the refund and the rep says " Oh I will send it out now it will take a few days to appear on your card" So if I had not called that refund would not have taken place. I also found many of the same sinks on other sites including the one I ordered for much less than what I was charged. I asked them via email to stop sending me emails and remove me from further correspondence. So today nearly a year later they ask me to write a review which I started but beware you have to agree to the terms and my understanding is that if you have a negative review they can refuse to publish it and also have legal recourse for any damaging information you publish hence the reason my review is on this site.

Terrible company
February 28, 2020

I bought an appliance during a time when a rebate was available from the manufacturer. Three months later I have not received the item. They delivered the wrong item 3 consecutive times all while claiming the next shipment will "for sure" be correct. They ultimately had to refund my money causing me to lose the rebate. This company is terrible. Please don't waste your time.

This is how I received $1800. 00 of luxury shower items. Box was poorly wrapped and the boxes inside were open and small pieces were loose in the box. I called them immediately when I received the package and was treated very unprofessionally by the first guy 'TJ'. I asked for his supervisor "Franco" who would not give me his last initial or last name. I heard the first guy laughing in the background about how they already have my money. I was asking for a full refund and I was going to purchase somewhere else. This box is 4 feet long and 2 feet wide and had 1 strip of tape on the top and nothing on the sides. I have no idea what pieces are missing. I read the other reviews on here and slapped my forehead. All the reviews on their site were positive, guess they are fixed.
I have never dealt with such an unprofessional rep. I asked to speak with his supervisor, he said "that isnt gonna happen." he obviously only responds to selective reviews on here, that I have seen. This place and this guy is a total rip off!

I bought a pedestal sink in two parts-the pedestal and the basin. When I received them I realized they did not fit each other so I immediately contacted them for a return. I was instructed to return the pedestal via UPS. For that I would be discounted $23 for shipping. I was not happy, but it wasn't much. They send a courier to pick up the basin. After about a month, I contacted them because I had not received my refund. They said that since the return was higher than the price of the basin, I would not receive ANY refund. Can you believe this? This means I gifted them a product! Terrible customer service. I suppose this is how they make their money

Delayed our kitchen remodeling an entire month and increased cost of remodeling.

The website claims receive product within 2 weeks. More like INDEFINATE.

I ordered a sink from Faucet direct.com which is also supplied by build.com.
The salesperson assured me multiple times and confirmed that the company had the item and the sink would be shipped on the estimated shipping date. They were expecting a delivery at the end of the month.

Then they sent me an email saying the order was back ordered 2 months. Never got the email. Checked all my boxes.

When I spoke to the shipping department, they said it was very common with this company to not meet estimated delivery dates. The sales people who sell items don't know this information. REALLY!

Although I read the 3 STAR reviews, I didn't believe it.

Although build.com lost earning profits due not meeting market demand, I didn't believe it.

Well now I do. I hope you are not in a RUSH. If you have special order item (S), plan ahead of 5 to 6 or 3 months in advance.

Part number incorrect
January 21, 2020

I received incorrect information from customer service during 3 separate phone calls concerning a rev-a-shelf pull out trash container.
1. The first call was to confirm I was ordering the correct sized item. Customer Service reconfirmed that I was and so I placed the order.
2. The pull out shelf I received was an incorrect size. I called customer service and they said that they couldn't help because the vendor had shipped the wrong item and I would have to contact Rev-A-Shelf directly. I called Rev-A-Shelf and they told me they couldn't help and I would have to deal with Build.com directly. During this conversation Rev-A-Shelf told me that the part # on Build.com was incorrect for this item and at least one other pull out shelf.
3. I then called Build.com customer service again and this time they said they would ship the correct size immediately. I also told them about the part # error on the website and they said that would be corrected also.
4 After waiting a week and hearing nothing I phoned customer service again. They told me I would have to cancel the original order and re-order the correct size pull out shelf. In addition the part # had still not been corrected on their website.
5. After receiving this information I requested that the original order be cancelled. An authorization to return the item was issued which I did the same day.
6. Approximately a week later I received confirmation from the carrier that the item was received in their warehouse. I waited another week and stilll had not received a credit. It took two followup conversations with customer service and the credit was finally issued. The part # is still incorrect on the website.

I should have read all the negative reviews before placing my order. This would have saved me time (so far).
These guys are nothing but a MIDDLEMAN with no facilities to carry In Stock items. Drop shipping service at best.
BUYER BEWARE.
I had to spend time on the phone with 3 different sales people before my SAMSUNG 36-inch gas cooktop NA36N7755 (that was listed as In Stock item), was shipped to me 12 days after my order was placed.
But it was shipped directly from SAMSUNG, not from Build.com.
On Build.com product advertisement page it said that shipping was FREE. So there was no charge for shipping on my order. While I was waiting for my cooktop I telephoned Build.com several times and I got excuses, that Build.com has no idea why SAMSUNG refuses to ship my ordered product to me.
Long story short, 2 weeks later I received my cooktop. And 4 days after that I received an invoice from L+R Carriers in a mail for $545 for the shipping service of my cooktop to my residential address. WTF? On Build.com site product shipping was advertised as FREE.
On a phone with Build.com again for 30 minutes. They confirmed that in my orderform shipping is shown as FREE. But they have NO IDEA why did this happen. The worst part is Build.com does not want to deal with the resolution of the issue, so they told me to call SAMSUNG directly blaming them for the mistake.
And so I did. Another hour with SAMSUNG customer service on the phone. SAMSUNG says they do not have contracts with any carriers on delivery of their products to the customers. It should be Build.com responsibility. Got the drift?
Second call to Build.com to rep by the name Andrew at # 6144, no response. Left a message. No response from Build.com again. Really incompetent and poor customer service.
Stay away.

Great Customer Service
January 1, 2020

I bought a vanity light for my bathroom which was in the process of being remodeled in August. With delays in bathtub production and other contractor problems, I found the light didn't match the quartz counter. Unfortunately, it was after the 30 day return policy. Thankfully, build.com agreed to accept my return with an exchange. They charged a 10% restocking fee and a very small postage fee. The replacement light looks fantastic. I recommend Build.com.

Error on Description
December 24, 2019

Part described incorrectly by Build.com.

Turns out they don't even carry the part listed hence why the wrong part was shipped. 100% their error but they refuse to refund the rather steep shipping charges.

Stay away.

There are far more reputable businesses to deal with than this one. They don't stock anything they are just middlemen for low class vendors who can't get business or already lost business.
