Build.com charged my credit card thru Amazon within 12 hours immediately after I ordered a shower faucet. 72 hours later, I still have not received an email confirmation of my order. I am going to contact my credit card to not process the payment.
Stay away and run from this business. It is a fraud.

I have placed 2 orders with build.com. In the first, I was supposed to get 15% off the order, they only gave me 15% off a few select items. So READ THE FINE PRINT. So then, I tried to call and cancel the order and get it elsewhere at a lower price. On hold for over an hour, always 10+ in line through the chat and finally emailed them. They said I couldn't cancel, it had already shipped. In less than two hours? They really get you on the return. I returned four cabinet knobs in a tiny box...$32 order. Free shipping out, $15 to return ship. I can't imagine what they would charge for a larger order. And try to call them? You cannot get through... ever... maybe they are nicer to builders than individuals but they seem like just a online middle man... prices aren't that great, service is TERRIBLE. There is NO WAY I would do a large order with them. Buy local! Or got to Home Depot.

One of the worst customer service experiences ever.
They are unreachable by phone (more than 1 hour on hold on 2 occasions) and unresponsive to email.
They routinely do this Catch-22 thing where they demand you call them *right away* or your order will be cancelled and then they just don't pick up the phone.
Go elsewhere.

I was looking for a particular dishwasher, which I found on Build.com. They showed they had 7 in stock, so I placed an order. A few hours later I get an email saying my order is on hold, and that I need to call them. I call, and proceed to wait 20 minutes to get an operator. Finally, I try chat, and after 10 minutes or so, get through. Explain my issue, she looks it up, and says, "Oh yeah, it was placed on hold because it's such a large order." The dishwasher was $449.00, that's a large order? After about 10 minutes back and forth, she says I'm all set, and that she has set the delivery date for the following week. Two days later, I get an email saying my order is back ordered until September! Obviously, they never had 7 to begin with, or sold them to someone else after I ordered. Of course, the fact that they couldn't fulfill my order didn't mean they had cancelled it, only that they expected me to wait 2 months to get it. Back online, get in line for Chat, and tell them I want the order cancelled. The rep says no problem, we'll let you know in a few days if the order has been cancelled, and then issue a refund. So now I have to wait to see if they're actually going to cancel an order they can't fulfill, while they have my money in their account! REALLY shady!

Bought multiple items, had to return 1 and reorder which I did. HOWEVER, the reorder was shipped to a town a half hour away from me. Tried calling customer service, no one takes my calls or responds to email. AND my credit card is charged but I have no product. Going on day 3 now trying to reach them. Also they received my return- lets see if I have to chase them down for a credit. You can buy the same product at the same pricing elsewhere.

I ordered something a couple weeks ago and received a package from Build yesterday. Their info shows I received my order. The problem is that I received SOMEONE ELSES order, not mine. I've sat in cue on the phone for >1 hr AND waited on an online chat for >15 minutes before I gave up. I understand Covid is causing issues but this is ridiculous.

I ordered some tile samples on 5/21; about a week later I received a message that the items were on back order, so I waited. Today, 7/1, Build sent me an email that the products I ordered have been discontinued. Glad I hadn't started demolishing my shower.

Misleading web-site
June 30, 2020

I ordered a cartridge for a Grohe shower system yesterday and paid $54 to get it shipped overnight. When I checked the status today, the order has not even left the plant, and the overnight delivery starts tomorrow. They indicated they had 22 of these in stock so why it takes them two days to get them out of their warehouse beats me. Also I had to wait 56 minutes before I could speak to someone. This is ridiculous.

Worst exchange/return policy! 25% restocking fee to exchange appliances even if you are purchasing from them again. Response to emails takes days if you get a response. No regard for customer service.

Awful service

If I could I would give this company NO STARS at all.
I ordered a grill cover and case for my A/C unit on 05/19/2020. Few days later I received my grill cover and email that case will be delayed until 6/22. On 6/23 I received an email with apology and refund. Customer service was absolutely awful. I was not able to get anyone on the phone and was listening to the music for 34 minutes. I was finally able to get someone on the Chat. "Chat rep" was not much help either. Just asked if I want a refund for the cover. I waited over a month and now I have to scramble to find the parts from another store!
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM!

Very slow to ship
June 20, 2020

I placed an order for Samsung cooktop over a week ago and the item has not ship yet. The item shows it in stock. Now my Granite countertops are done just waiting for the cooktop. I wish I had placed the order from another company. Lesson learned.

I sent back a set of shower and some valves in separate boxes (as originally received). The tracking with the delivery company went awry and I did not receive credit for over $400 worth of merchandise. When I pursued it with customer service, they initially answered me, but then basically said they couldn't find the merchandise or acknowledge they received it. They had part of my order and credited me $60, but did not acknowledge receiving the rest. Hold times on the phone are excessively long. They did not respond to my last email. They seem okay with the fact my return is lost and I am out over $400. Not their problem? Competitors credit returns as soon as they are scanned at drop off.

We bought a $1000 bathtub from Build.com and weren't able to return it because the box got damaged and was thrown out by the contractor. We had a similar size box ready to send it, but they wouldn't accept it. I won't be using them anymore.

I bought two portable A. C. Units from build.com last day of May bought online. I spoke with two of their agents about one of them not working. I was told to fill out a form for service from Edgestar. I have not heard from anyone. Your agent said he would try to help of no response. I am on day 3 with no response. There were spiders invested apparently. I paid almost $600 for two units. One is now bagged up in my garage not useable. Edgestar will not answer calls due to Covid. I can't get anyone at your company to help either. I am beyond angry at this point. I want someone to refund my money and get it returned. Do not order from this company!

I ordered a Kohler product from Build.com on March 22, based upon the assurance it would be shipped in 1-3 weeks. Since then, I was told that it would be shipped on April 13,14 and 17, May 8 and 21. None of these dates were met. I was told Build.com was unable to obtain the item from the supplier. On May 22, I was told it would be shipped on July 1. At this time, I informed customer service that the item was immediately available on the Kohler website, and requested that they purchase it there and and have it sent to me. They would not do so, even though I had already paid them.
As a result, I cancelled the order, purchased the item from Kohler and received it in 3 business days. It seems incredible to me that Build.com could not obtain the product for over 3 months (at least), and I was able to buy it from Kohler as an in-stock item.

This company is despicable! I wish I could offer ZERO STARS! Do not order from them, they have ZERO customer service and are extremely rude. They will not help you and they make it impossible to contact them. They make it very apparent that they are not in the business of customer service, and they don't want to help their customers. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at a more reputable company. This review is solely based on service Build.com offers as I have not received my delivery.

I ordered a shower base, and received it March 10,2020 Three days later the covid-19 lockdown started. The same day my contractor was to start installation. The contractor rescheduled installation when he was able to begin work again. Unfortunately the base does not fit. Unopened, unused. Called right away to try to return and reorder a different base. NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE, no store credit, no return, I missed the deadline, TOUGH LUCK THATS YOUR PROBLEM. No return policy change for Covid-19 delays. Was told to resell it myself. $800. Wasted. Don't believe all the great reviews on their website. It's probably what customer service does all day.

I picked out certain black matte finish shower head and faucet that I wanted for our new master bathroom. The products all show as "in stock" however 7 DAYS after I ordered, I got an e: mail that says the items would not ship for about another 10-14 days. A week had already passed so then I was forced to either pick something else out that I didn't love OR spend another $150 and buy a higher end item. Even when I go on their website right now, that item still shows "in stock" which is misleading! I wont be ordering from here again.
