As a general contractor, the firs experiences were very pleasant. Had a personal rep I was working with. Then a client did not like some of the items ordered. A couple of months later, the items were returned and i paid the re-stocking fee and shipping. One item that didn't belong with the returns was sent back inadvertently. All the items returned show delivered on their own tracking system,. About $500.00 in total. After a month, i get a bull$#*! answer back from the pro rep. You read it for yourself. I will not do business with them anymore and suggest that you proceed with caution!
"Sorry ive missed your calls. So a few things bud. I know you have been CCing me on prospective clients. At first, I thought this was a good idea, I would take the time to respond and have calls with. After the 10th one that did not result in any new business, I can no longer take the time to do that.
As far as the returns go and the items being sent back that were not build products, We can not issue any refunds because we never got the respected items back. We have a very good process set up for returns and issuing refunds and credit. "I encourage you to call into the 800 number for any future orders or returns.
The cooktop and cookware arrived quickly. I'm happy with the cooktop but the free cookware pitted on first use, boiling water. Disappointing! I sent an email and they politely referred me to the manufacturer. So they just are resellers. If you want any kind of warranty, I suggest buying from a reputable dealer. I did not want to return the entire product box for two cook pots but there should be some easy way to replace inferior products. So I don't know whether they have an honorable return policy. I did take photos.
I ordered a vanity, when the delivery driver showed up he had a terrible attitude and refused to help me move it 4 feet off the street. He said it was a curbside delivery.
Ordered a light fixture from here. Fixture came in and it was extremely poor quality. I couldn't hang it due to safety concerns. Fit and finish were so poor that the product would have been considered defective. They refused to cover return shipping so I ended up having to pay nearly half the cost of the fixture to return it.

They used to be good... I have spent $10,000 plus with them. I am trying to get one thing rectified,, Been through 4 different customer Reps all who said they would get back to me. Nothing... No call back... No email... Nada Zero... I will take my professional Hardware/Lighting Plumbing needs elsewhere... I AM COMPLETELY DONE!

We ordered a new vanity for our bathroom and when it was opened we saw that the marble counter was cracked. I immediately called Build.com and the customer service person made my husband take pictures and email them to her before taking any action. She told us that the company would figure out what to do with the 255 pound damaged one... then never got back to us. When I called to follow up, they told me to "just keep it". What am I going to do with a 255 lb. broken vanity sitting in my 1350 square foot house!?! I called back a 3rd time and the person I spoke with said "there are hauling companies in your area". Gee, thanks, next time I'm buying from Home Depot, jerks.
I am trying to find a doorknob that works with a door from 1929, I have had to return a couple of items I bought that didnt work. The first return went smoothly. The second return was like a nightmare. I am out over $150 and not only is customer service not helpful AT ALL, but the 'president' could care less also. They are not customer friendly. The customer does NOT come first with this company. You will waste countless minutes/hours trying to deal with them and it will result in you losing money. Stick with Amazon.

I ordered a cast iron shower pan from a local vendor because I wanted to deal with someone locally and thought I'd get better service. I was so wrong. After waiting almost 5 months to receive the item and getting the runaround from the local place, I ordered the exact same product on build.com, at the exact same price, and had it in my driveway 4 days later. It would have been 3 days but I ordered late on a Thursday and the weekend intervened. Delivery service was friendly and professional, and I received calls during the day to update me on when I could expect the delivery to arrive. Very impressed with build.com and I will certainly order from them again.
The customer service on the phone is far from customer service. They are rude, short, and are not there to help. They put customers on extremely long wait time and are not helpful. DO NOT shop here there are plenty of other retailers that sell the products they do. They are awful. I was not able to return an item and get store credit even though their store policy states that you can return your items for store credit after 60 days.

Build.com misleads you by telling you there is a return policy on appliances. Not knowing that the actual policy is "NO RETURNS ON APPLIANCES" you innocently purchase an appliance from them only to find out that it is not returnable. Once the appliance is delivered, you are stuck with it. Go to your local appliance store, they will match the Build.com price and you can return it if you don't like it.

I have used Build.com for two large bathroom remodels. I researched my needs locally and tried to support the brick and mortar stores. However, they were unable to get the products to me (shower vales, trims, shower bases, and shower doors) in 5 to 7 business days. Build.com was able to research and provide were my products would be shipped, change the locations for better response time and I had them at my home in 7 business days. I received a defect in the shower door (water drop coating was wrinkled), I provided pictures and they sent me a replacement in 3 days no extra cost in shipping. My last bathroom project was quoted $2900 from a locale supplier, Build.com was able to provide the same identical items for $1960. I needed more information on setting the temp on a Moen shower valve and Build.com was able to send me the Manufactures Manuel on all the details in needed.
I used Build.com to help furnish many different items in building a new home. Their prices were very competitive, service was good and everything came as expected.
I had excellent service - on-line, on the phone, email and including handling returns. Both the contractor and I have no qualms recommending this company to others.
I ordered some furniture pulls, cabinet knobs and a Braun bathroom fan. The pulls were as described and blended perfectly with the existing pulls. I haven't installed the bathroom cabinet knobs or The Broan fan as it is for a Feb bathroom remodel. Shipping was fast and everything was well packed.
My wife and I have purchased several products from Build.com over the course of several months. They provide great product selection and provide fast delivery. Products during shipment are well packaged, protected and secure. The Build.com website itself is well designed, informative and easy to navigate.

Light fixture was superior quality and had the best customer service ever when it was missing a small part. They sent an entire new light fixture and didn't even want the first one returned. We were able to purchase a part that would work at our local Lowe's store and, subsequently, had a free light fixture. Would highly recommend Build.com!
Purchased vent fan, toilet, sink and faucet, shower faucet, and shower doors from build.com. The products recommended by the consultant were amazing. The shower faucet shower head and shower doors were Miseno brand and were top notch quality the installers were impressed at the quality of these products. Delivery on all products was quick and free. Most important of all was the sales consultant Sophi Paul she made sure I received the best prices and the best products. You will definitely use build.com for future projects.

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
