I have booked a car in advance in Redlands CA. On Friday, I had to pick up a car to go to a little trip with my wife. This is how we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But when we came for a car in the Budget, I was told that there was no car for me. My wife and I were very upset because our plans were ruined. It was terrible. We were not given an apology and even more we were charged and after five days they didn't make a refund. Worst service ever. Do not recommend to have business with them.
Traveling with 5 50+ ladies and rented a car from Budget. Would NEVER make that mistake again! Our car had a leak in 1 of the tires that we didn't realized until we had to keep filling it everyday. After the 3rd day, we called to have swapped out, or fixed. After spending 2 hours on the phone, they finally sent someone to put on the spare, FOR THE REMAINDER OF OUR 9 DAYS! Not sure this is totally safe? Anyway, the guy put the tire in the trunk, so when it was time to leave we had no way to transport our suitcases. Spent another 3 hours on the phone with Budget who WOULD. NOT. HELP! We ended up having to lift the tire out (by ourselves) but squeeze where the donut would go so we could wedge our suitcases in. We dropped the car without issue. We contacted them once home to discuss, they were unwilling to work with us, give any sort of discount for all our trouble. And, wait for it, they CHARGED US AN EXTRA $220 for sending someone to change the tire! UNBELIEVABLE!
Never rent from this company! I rented a car in 2019 and was contacted from a credit collector in 2021 for damage never made. Never was contacted about any damages until 1.5 years later and not even from budget but from a debt collector. This is the way this company tries to steal money from their guests. Don t rent there you will regret it. Be carefull!
Scammers! Look your car carefully. If not you are doomed! I luckily checked before and found engine lights on. A tiny crack on the windshield and a very rude manager. Everything in just one day!
My husband and I rented a car for the weekend from the Charlotte airport location. A man named Robert helped us out. We added supplemental liability insurance as our personal car insurance does not cover rentals. This was an additional $15 per day, an extra $45 which we had no issue with and agree was better safe than sorry. Our car rental total was just under $100. We expected all together to pay around $150 (understanding taxes and what not could add just a little bit more). We discussed no other additional coverage options and Robert went on to the contract. He rapidly went through it, scrolling through and just pointing out where I needed to initial and sign stating everything in here is just what we had already gone over. We signed and went on our merry way. However, upon receiving my final bill they charged me OVER DOUBLE the expected price as Robert unknowingly added three additional optional coverage charges for the entirety of our rental! I was livid. So I called customer service to discuss the issue and have them explain all these extra charges. For example - PAE for personal bodily injury and loss of personal property if in an accident. We have our own medical insurance should I get in an accident, I would never in a million years add this onto my rental car coverage. Customer service was LARGELY unhelpful and rude. He just stated "well you signed the contract" after I had explained that I felt Robert acted in a very shady and dishonest manner adding these optional fees without my knowledge and hustling me through the contract signing. Customer service put all blame on me and did nothing. Needless to say, huge lesson learned on my part - ask point blank what you're signing and STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHADY AND CORRUPT BUSINESS!
The website persuades you to you the Pay Now feature, as I was entering a coupon code I must have pressed the wrong button to continue and it secured my reservation, for me then to find out because of one simple wrong click on my behalf iam now going to be charged $150, for nothing at Christmas during a Pandemic. GREAT JOB BUDGET RENTAL CAR- I will never attempt to rent from this company EVER
I was told my card would be ran for a hold of $200 (even though my grandpa paid for the rest all online) since I was the driver. AFTER she ran my card, I received a receipt for $400. I've called numerous amounts of times to get this fixed and they told me it would be 3-5 days before my own money is returned to my account. I'm on vacation and it would be nice to have $400 right about now. Not to mention, doubling my price without consent. Pls, don't waste your time and use this company. It's a joke.
The deception is astounding to say the least. From the representation of the rates, all the way through to an explanation of the final disposition of that contract.

We rented a full size SUV on line. When we got to the airport they gave us a Tahoe. We told them is was not going to be big enough. They responded with, you can tell the supervisor on duty outside. Victoria I think. My husband went out and the vehicle was not big enough for 6 people and 2 golf club sets and luggage for 6. He called me to tell me there was not room. So, I and one other traveler had to have our daughter come to the airport and pick us up. She was driving from Orlando to meet us at Captiva. When me husband and the other travelers went to leave the lot they told the lady that the Tahoe was unacceptable. It smelled so bad inside I only rode in it once. It smelled liked someone had rented that care and smoked bad marijuana in it continuously. The woman responded with, "yes we know and we charged the person before you for the smell." WHAT? What company does that? I spent one whole morning on the phone with 7 (yes 7) different people from your company to try to get the car exchanged for the one we paid for in the first place. They all had excuses, no one was authorized to make sure there was a car that size at the airport if we were to bring in to exchange it, no one would bring one to us to exchange it. I just gave up. My husband took in all the back to the airport and all they had was a 12 passenger van that was big enough for us. 1st don't advertise that you have a extended SUV if you don't. We really would like our money back. For the first few days the Tahoe set outside our beach house with all the doors and windows open. Finally my husband returned it. It should have never left the lot like that. The one woman I called said Budget did not even have extended SUVs. So, she lied? Look us up, there should be notes that I tried calling for a half a day of my vacation to fix this problem and no one was willing to do anything above and beyond. So, to say the least... we will never use Budget again and we will share this with family and friends. Lori Bucklen
I am absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated today by Budget. I phoned to make a reservation to rent a car that same day. The person I talked to took my credit card information all he told me was the price of the car and that I would have insurance on the car
And told me a total that went through on my credit card right away. Everything was good he told me the car would be waiting for me. I went down to pick up the car and evrything he told me (or didn't tell me) was not at all how it went. B
He did not tell me I didn't have to pay for the car at time of booking but he took my payment for the car anyways. He also did not once mention that there is a $350 deposit as well so at that point I didn't have enough money on my credit card to pay for both and the insurance was not for the car it was for personal injury which is a total scam because we have free Alberta Health so there's no reason to be paying for a personal insurance so there was no insurance on the car either. So I called them back to get this rectified and all they did was tell me they will refund my money on my credit card but not for 5 to 7 days so I still couldn't get the deposit put on my credit card right away in order to get the car right away so I was left with no rental car and completely screwed in the middle of downtown in winter with no car and they wouldn't even try to rectify it they wouldn't try to resolve it they didn't care at all they just said goodbye with no help at all and did not take responsibility for the wrongdoing and their ignorance and their lack of knowledge about company rules and policies not once did they apologize even. I can't believe this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced so save yourself and don't rent from these people!
Budget does not car about cleanliness or the health and safety of renters. I rented a car from Longmont CO. Right away I noticed a smell in it. I went and bought air freshener. Next day driving down the highway we noticed a lot of flys coming from the dash. As trip continued we started getting bit. My daughter found bugs inside her jeans when we stopped at a rest area. I had also found a used Mask in the console from prior renter and a cell phone in glove box. Obviously they do not clean their cars. Budget apologizes for the inconvenience? Not an inconvenience it is a nightmare. It was a Horrible ending to a trip as now everything in the vehicle was affected. Pillows blankets and suitcases. I have had to clean everything and throw some things away. I have had to wash and dry and bag everything. I don't believe I was able to stop the infestation getting into the house. As the first day I rented it not knowing I wore my clothes into the house. I am having a miserable time battling this. Budget doesn't care. Giving me 150 dollar refund does not cover my expenses to rid of the infestation or the mental stress it has caused. Do not rent from Budget!
We made a reservation for a full size SUV by budget for 4:00 pm pickup time the price was good and everything looked that's going smoothly. L called up budget the day before if l need to be there on the button and they told me that I have a grace period of 30 minutes what i could arrive late and still get the car. On the day we're supposed to pick up the vehicle we're driving to the location and we're running a few minutes late we got a phone call at 3:50 pm from the Location that we're supposed to get the vehicle that if we are not there within 10 minutes they are going to be closed so we told them that we're going be there at 4:05 just 5 minutes late so please wait we arrived at 4:05 and we knocked on the door and a employee opend the door and told us they can't give us the car anymore because their system doesn't let but after begging them he told us that for $100 cash tip he could give us the car. WHAT A SCAM NEVER EVER AGAIN BUDGET
I WISH I would have read the reviews first. Just a horrible company with no integrity. Save your self the hassle of filing a dispute and do not rent from them.
I kept getting different prices on the same rental from different locations, I spoke to a supervisor about this and they abruptly hung up on me. The next call was the same rude tone unwilling to answer questions, this went on through 4 of their representatives with the end result being a rental from enterprise at a much lower price and happy employees to talk to.

We Reserved a van with this car rental Ann we showed up to pick it up they had nothing available no vans, no one buttered to call to let us know... terrible service, waist of time
Worst ever, rent a bicycle or hitchhike. Probably safer that way. They are $#*!ing pathetic and will burn in hell for there rental practices and policies. Don't accept a blowjob from them cuz they will ask to make it better. $#*! off pricks.
This is the worst experience ever with this company. They charged an extra $100.00 for an upgrade. We had a Ford edge which we thought was a full size car. I guess not but we were charged for an upgrade. I called to ask questions and was told that they can't do anything about it.
This company didn't even clean our car, let alone sanitize it per COVID standards. We found papers &receipts in the vehicle from 3 weeks prior to our rental! Upon calling customer service, i was informed to go to the hospital to be tested... by the customer service agent! I was then transferred to claims, which was conveniently closed for the day. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Budget/Avis has been an absolute nightmare and they shouldn't be in business. My boyfriend and I rented a vehicle for one day and regret is not word. He called made a reservation early that morning. We arrived at the Berlin turnpike location because it was convenient from where we live and the woman had no knowledge of the reservation. It's ok we're pretty laid back people and understanding. But as we're waiting I noticed how filthy their location is. (I will be back just to take pictures) It looks like the health of the employees are at risk from the mold from the ceiling to the huge staining on the floor. Should have been a warning right then and there but I didn't want to judge and make a big deal and ruin our day. We rented a SUV for one day. We told the woman at the desk we were both going to be driving the vehicle she said I DID NOT NEED to be on the contract. We both advised her that we didn't want an issue returing the vehicle the next day and we wanted it to be on there. She said there was NO NEED to be on the contract. Regardless I should have made her do it but she works there. You can't force someone to do their job. I should fight with her to do it? She gave us permission it was ok i was returning the vehicle because he was going to be at work. I returned the car in better shape than we got it... and the woman was completely unprofessional and defiant. Called me names and slammed the door in my face because I asked for a receipt. She said our contract was null and void and we never got a receipt or anything. No proof we ever returned the car on time or the condition of the car. Never a walk around the vehicle before hand or after. They pray on people to make a mistake and trust their "professionalism" for their personal gain and profit. Regardless of the corona virus time or not I'm sure many people have fallen victim in f this company. Maybe damage that wasn't their fault. Charging for uncleanliness that wasn't their fault. They are hurting for business and will ruin your day and take complete advantage of You. Looking forward to pursuing this matter because it's morally wrong in my eyes and no one should have to go through it.
Watch out for this company. It has no integrity! They do not take care of their cars. They are filthy on the inside and with only 7,000 miles on them they have computer problems. Meanwhile, their customer service smiles sweetly at you, engages you in conversation while tacking on extra charges that you are specifically refusing. Not worth the couple of dollar of savings. Run!

Answer: Very poor customer service. It would help if they had people that could speak english that can be understood. I dont think that they give a damm about anyone.
