DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM BUDGET/AVIS THEY ARE SAME BUSINESS, I pre paid 3 days in advance because I has a business meeting pop up and I received a email to check and make sure the day of pickup and I did. So I called the number and guy said all good with my reservation. I drove almost a hour to get there and when I did get to the budget that I reserved with the address and the last tells me, you didn't call here, there's no number for here. 4491 Williams penn highway in monroeville pa 15*******348 I asked well what's the sense of a reservation if you can't get a car!? She shrugged her shoulders and said nothing... I MEAN YOU EITHER HAVE A CAR TO RENT OR NOT! ITS NOT HARD. I RENT HOTELS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND THEY EITHER HAVE A RIOM FOR MY DATES OR THEY DONT! THEY WERE HAPPY TO TAKE MY MONEY FOR 3 DAYS BECAUSE I PREPAID CAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS GUARANTEED A CAR BUT NO YOU ARE NOT AND WILL EVER BE BECAUSE THE LADY SAID READ THE FINE PRINT SOMEWHERE LOL THEY DONT GUARANTEE ANYTHING LMAO WOW SO I WASTED DAYS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND NOW IM GOING TO MISS A MEETING WITH MY COMPANY IF I DONT BUY A PLANE TICKET FOR 1200! ONE WAY, INSTEAD OF COUPLE HUNDRED. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THESE UN PROFESSIONAL, UN ORGANIZED COMPANY I EVER DEALT WITH! UPDATE UPDATE, UPDATE THEY GOT BUSTED FOR SELLING HEROIN and other drugs and couple of their cars were in high speed chases! No wonder I didn't get a car lol

Worst car rental company
November 18, 2022

Daughter rented a car to come home Thanksgiving, she got a great deal on Expedia. The representative told her shouldn't have used Expedia and they wouldn't honor the rate and told her she needed her passport. My daughter has suffered from being severely homesick for months and now there are no cars for her to rent and they ruined our holiday. I wish we just boycott them so maybe they'll go ot of business!

Would prefer ZERO Star rating

Lying, cheating, rude, inept, horrible experience- Budget@ Philadelphia International Airport. Attempted to overcharge $123.50. Only because I reserved vis COSTCO did I get this extra charge removed— all the while the Budget employee was berating me for not having read the contract. I did and made yhem remove the charge for their insurance, and provided proof that I have my own. So no, I did NOT make a mistake. The car they gave me did NOT have a full tank. I insisted that it be filled. I also insisted on written proof that the car was very scratched on ALL sides. They claimed that they had no way to document. I took dated-video of the convo with the desk clear AND of his looking the car over while we pointed out scratches, or we would have been charged for damages. Disgusting company! Hi

I use to rent here weekly for over a year with great service and no Deceptive scams last two rental hidden gas fees even though the car came back full. In both rental the last two times I rented a car an said I would fill the tank. Each time they charge me fees for fuel even though I filled the care up. After looking back at the contract one said I need to show my fuel receipt or they could add charges. No one told me that and the tank was full what the hell. Receipt in had when driving in no one asked to see it no one told me just a blurb on the contract and an extra fee on the bill. Second rental no initial asking for pre paid gas but it a line item and extra 70 dollars on the receipt even though I said no and the gas tank was full. They did refund but this is scam practices. Will not rent from them again and I travel allot I will not recommend them any more,

Poor customer service!

On 10/3022 at lambert airport location had the worse service from staff. But mainly the manager Rosie…because I asked Rosie to explain her policy that she nows! But I don't…Rosie the manager refuse to service me! Threatening to call police on me! I thought that was a great idea. Because then I can get her information which she refused to give to me. I come to get a car to conduct business and I'm being told by Rosie the manager, 'I don't know whom I'm talking to!' That's how you resolve issues with customers? If rosie knew 'policies' rosie the manager would've conducted herself way better and not been confrontational because I'm not understanding her policies! You may not see Rosie…but that's her behind the glass. And other customers walked while being very rude!

Budget Halifax NS

Pre arranged and paid for a rent a car from budget in Halifax Nova Scotia. I rented the car for sept 21-23 using points to pay. I returned the car a day early due to hurricane coming into Nova Scotia. Budget would not refund me my days rental, I was told because this was prepaid they cannot issue refund, PLEASE, someone is doing a money grab from customers, so please do not rent from budget car rental. Any company that exhibits this type of behaviour should be boycotted!

Budget left us stranded for two days overnight in the jungle. They gave us an unsafe vehicle that broke down. They told us a tow was coming and one never showed up. We waited for 9 hours for a tow that never showed. Every time I call they transfer me in loops and no one can assist. I will never shop budget again and will tell everyone I know to never shop them again. They don't care about your safety or wellbeing. To them you are a number and if you died they wouldn't care. Please run. Do not walk away from Budget.

Changes a problem

I had been renting cars for years with Budget. In my last 3 rentals I needed to make a pick up time change. In each instance to pick up or drop off the car 2 hrs early or late they wanted to charge me an extra $200. Even though I called and waited on hold for an hour to ask for the time extension. Budget you lost a loyal customer

Horrible! Missed wedding waiting 3 hours!

This is the worst company I have ever rented from! The staff in the airport in South Carolina was clueless and did not care to assist when asked! I missed a whole wedding because I was delayed waiting in the parking lot for a car! Horrible! Horrible! My first and last time with this company! STAY away from this company! Horrible! Horrible!

NEVER use

My daughter had rented & paid for a car in advance for the weekend, rented a motel room, and had planned on surprising her son when he proposed to his girlfriend until Budget ruined it all. She got to the counter to pickup her car and to much her surprise they DENIED her car rental! She was prepared to put a deposit down with her debit card and told her credit score wasn't high enough she had to have a major cc in order to rent a car which she doesn't have. It states on Google you can rent a car without a credit card by placing a HOLD on your debit card however this is a LIE! She was absolutely devastated to find out not only was she now not getting to surprise her son, she was out the money for the car rental until the decide to refund it & the money she had spent to reserve a place for the weekend because it was the last day & couldn't be canceled at that time. This is TOTAL discrimination to allow someone with a good credit score to rent with a debit card & not someone who has had a problem with credit. What has running your credit got to do with renting a car? Look at their driving record not credit score. You are renting a freaking car NOT buying it! Run the credit check when she paid for the rental not the day she goes to pick it up thinking everything is OK and be DEVASTED at the counter & refused to get your rental you paid for in advance. Make it a policy at all Budget rentals not certain locations! I DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend Budget! They absolutely ruined a momental moment & memory for my daughter!

I want my money back

I recently rented a car for 838$(ridiculous) I was told I would get 400 back and still have yet to receive any money back after getting lied to from the manager in Peoria IL and no help from the corporate office

I waited 2 FULL hours to stand in line and pick up my Budget rental at the Chicago O'Hare airport. Customer service was completely non-existent and the excuse for the long wait was that people were coming up to make reservations on the spot. There should be a SEPARATE line for that. I will NEVER use Budget again because of this.

We prepaid to avoid extra fees. Supposedly it was cheaper. We filled the tank and returned the "decent" car. Later we noticed there was a $56 fuel charge fee. In addition to us filling up the tank at $80. Later an email came from Ryan Brown asking us how was our Budget experience and explained that we were upset about the "extra" fuel charge and he NEVER wrote back to help! Horrible customer service!

Side mirrors were so dirty, we had to have the gate attendant clean them as we were leaving. The gas tank was not full upon pickup (see picture). Warning light comes on that windshield washer fluid is empty (see picture). Windshield is so dirty I cannot see and I am going to die while driving this car (see picture). I requested that they provide some sort of refund of my rental fees or credit me for a free rental. Budget said I could drive an hour back to the airport, spend an hour line and exchange the car for another one then drive another hour back to my vacation location.

July 27,2022. My wife rents a Budget rental (Ford Explorer) at the Columbus airport. The seven family members get to the house only to find the back smells terrible of cat urine. She takes the car back and gets a Toyota Highlander.

They drive it around and eventually go to Louisville to visit the rest of the family. Today she gets a notice that the explorer charges have been closed. She calls Budget - and this is where it gets crazy...

She asks how the account is closed when she still has the Highlander. They ask her for the VIN and they tell her that car is actually leased to an Avis customer and she's driving it illegally. In fact, if she gets pulled over, the police will impound the car. Better yet, it will take them five to seven business days to get it straightened out.

Columbus gives her the keys to a replacement car, let her leave the lot and do not register the car in her name.

The customer service (lack of) people tell her there is nothing they can do. She needs to speak to the Budget in Columbus - but wait - they don't take customer service calls.

Budget showed they could care less about a family of seven being at risk of getting pulled over because of their mistake and have the car taken away. There is nothing they can do.

No supervisor was consulted, no manager was called.

How do you in when you're renting from Budget that the car is really in your name? Clearly, if you run into issues you cannot count on Budget to help.

No pride in service - no pride in caring

Pathetic customer service

My past three rentals have been a nightmare. I request a full size car and then they give me what they have at the moment. The first car had half a tank of gas and I didn't notice until I pulled out of the airport. My bad. My second car was a small SUV instead of a full size sedan. They have a policy of giving a discount for paying in full but, once you have done that, you can't change the reservation. I really don't know that any of the rental car places are any better but, given the fact that we are now paying three times what we paid 3 years ago for these cars, I would expect them to have better customer service.

I flew to DTW airport Tuesday, 7-11-22 around 6:30 pm. The Budget Car place was packed. Unfortunately, I need assistance walking with a cane. An agent walked over to me and asked if I had a reservation. I said yes, gave her the copy, and told me to take a seat, asked me for my license and credit card, and would be right back. The next thing I knew she came over and handed me the paperwork for the car I rented. I couldn't believe it. I can't remember her name, but she definitely deserves a shout-out!

In short. Charged for gas in a car that broke down. Used for one day $300 109 was gas. Give two $#*! about money. It's the principle. How could I gas up a car that broke down?
No customer service. Called and they reviewed my case. Denied refund.
PLEASE beware of this Company. Specifically Myrtle Beach Budget/Avis.

Scam

I hired a car from Budget Northern Ireland International Airport. It was all paid for, all I had to do was pick up the keys. A £100 Fuel deposit was briefly explained to me and I signed the 5 page document and left. A day after my return I realised the £100 deposit never went out. Instead a £201 protection cost that I never needed and which was never explained to me at the time. I'm now over £200 down and their explanation is "well you did sign it." Beware… total scam
