I've placed 3 orders with Boxed so far & even in a PANDEMIC the shipment came within the 3-5 days! THIS IS THE FASTEST SHIPMENT OF ANYTHING i've ever received!
I'm not one for reviews, but WOW I LOVE BOXED.COM! Especially being a mom of 2 kids who eat through the house!
I canceled an order within a few minutes after placing it. I used paypal to pay. Boxed admits to me that the order was cancelled and not shipped, but paypal says boxed tells them it was shipped and I owe. Boxed is worthless when I ask for help.
They bait and switch: offer you an upgrade to "boxed up" & if you order more than once of the same item, they cancel your order even without the warning on the item description of any item purchase limit. Then they'll revoke the trial membership for boxed up and their offer for $39 annually, at their discretion. So now you'll be left with paying $49 annually instead of the original offer. Will never recommend this site to any of my friends/fam. They're definitely taking advantage of the current covid situation by marking up their prices. A 20-bottle poland spring for $9.99, really?
We bought a case of tomato sauce among other items. The box looked OK, but when we opened it and removed the cans we were shocked to find that all of the cans were all severely dented! They looked like someone had purposely thrown the carton against a brick wall! As tomatoes are very acidic, we couldn't risk that the inner plating on the cans was compromised. We had to throw out the entire case! Other purchases were OK, but our daughter also had to throw away an entire case of canned goods for the same reason. Attached is a photo of a few of the cans for reference.
Just tried Boxed for the first time, since we're all sheltering in place. Signup was easy, prices seemed good, and I found items we needed, including 2lb bags of almond flour (we're on the keto diet, hard to find locally, and tired of the overpriced 1lb or smaller bags). Shipment was fast, with an email update including a snapshot of our box. "Cool, one of those hip new startups."
As I unpacked the box I found that the almond flour (in original sealed ziploc bag) was packaged inside another ziploc bag, with a dusting of flour around it. Weird. The OEM bag was unopened, but it was clearly leaking flour. Examining it, I found that there was a hole in the front of the bag (not a busted seam, but a cut), WHICH HAD BEEN TAPED SHUT with the same tape used to seal the box. The tape didn't stick and was leaking.
I emailed Boxed support, explained that this wasn't shipping damage but an intentional coverup by one of their packers, and that I expected a replacement. Instead I got a long paragraph of new-age pablum, about how the company started in a garage in NJ, and the health and safety of their customers is a primary concern, and how they take steps like ziploc bags to prevent shipping damage.
This wasn't shipping damage... one of their staff found a food package leaking, slapped some tape on it, and shipped it. That might be ok for dish soap or cat litter, but unacceptable when dealing with food. They've offered a refund, but the damage is done--I won't be using them again.
Didn't make it past the place order because we wanted the Dixie Cups 12 oz 160 advertised as "to go coffee cups". Noticed AND ALMOST MISSED IT, no lids and no mention of lids missing. Then needed Lysol wipes - All the products displayed clicked on wipes, and it took me to a screen of ALL PRODUCTS. Meaning all products that had nothing to do with the category but items like food that they had for sale. Felt like I was in the "Groundhog Movie"... Sitting here with CC ready to purchase and the website was just too frustrating. If you are doing a bait and switch, leaving out info or directing me to what you want to sell, rather than what we want to buy, then this makes me wonder how good the rest of the service like packing and shipping will be. Will pass on this one. Sticking to Amazon.
I received my products in good condition and shipping time was good considering... would use them again
I've been buying boxed every week for about 5 months now. They were perfect for the first 3 months, but have been missing items in every order for the last two months. I found customer service has gone above & beyond to replace the missing items. I think they have a jealous rat in there packaging department that they need to take care of. But other than that, I love boxed.
My order was split into two separate deliveries. UPS delivered 1st box to the wrong complex and it was returned back to Boxed. 2nd box came damaged. 2nd time having issues and damaged product. This is the last time I'm shopping at boxed.
I ordered from Boxed.com on a Saturday. The website says delivery is expected in 2-3 days. It did not say business days. Boxed.com did not even ship my order until Tuesday. I will not recieve it until Thursday. That is more than 2-3 days. Very upsetting.
I placed the order three business days ago and it's still processing. When I tried to contact them about it the email slot I had to fill out kept saying invalid email so I'm not even able to contact them to find out wth is going on with the money I have spent or where my purchase is or when it will be coming. Hell, if it comes at all? Who knows? Thanks boxed.com
I placed my first order because my sister in law referred me. My order was confirmed and next thing I know it got canceled. The prices on boxed is actually not discounted as they claim to be. The same exact items are cheaper in stores like target and Walmart. You are better off using stores like Bj's which you are really getting your money's worth for bigger size products as well.
I placed my order on 12/9, they charged my card on 12/9 and when I go to see if it has shipped it sates it's still processing my order. Today is 12/11
Missing, damage, leaking and dented products, customer service is a big joke,, they won't replace they only give you a measly credit.if want inconvenience place your order,,, after looking at most of the reviews I'm not the only one. Thanks
Prices seem fair but shipping is slow. Purchased items I needed for the weekend for guests. Purchased on Wednesday morning, it's MONDAY and I still have not received it. The box seems to be at a UPS facility just sitting since Friday. I will stick with Amazon or Target and go to my local Sam's Club for bulk items.
I love Boxed.com! I have a membership at Costco and it's the best company out there. They have the best prices, free and quick delivery. I would recommend trying out this company.
The "free" products ruined my package - i rec'd 3 free rolls of paper towel and 1 of the rolls was wet when i opened my package (very gross) on top of this the free rice-o-roni bowl was opened and rice spilled everywhere when i opened my package. Also the package took 4 days to arrive, I could have had my package the same day for a little over a dollar more if i would have purchased through amazon.com. Very disappointed and will not be shopping at boxed again.
I have used boxed a few times and been generally pleased but this last order was a disaster. Five items were missing (box was still sealed, so never packed) but worse yet, a bottle of hot sauce had opened up and spilled it's entire contents throughout the box. Their response? A five dollar credit ( the hot sauce alone cost that). That was good for a laugh. Lost a customer here. FOLLOW UP: a rep followed up with a more than equitable solution. Could have been avoided by just initially shipping the damaged / missing items. Review score adjusted upward accordingly.
So I bought popcorn for my son's lunches and when I received the brown box, it was required of me to open the box to see the actual product. The actual product was incredibly small, less than a handful of popcorn was in each bag. The company is misleading and their "boxed" packaging tricks the buy to think they are buy standard stuff but it's not. I contacted the company to return the product but I was told if I opened the brown box to look at the product that I was not allowed to return. I will never buy again from boxed and I will return to amazon where I spend $1500 a month. Boxed will not stay in business long with how they conduct business.
My purchases have actually been through a different website. The deals I've selected have been great. The items have arrived in a timely manner and undamaged.
