Boxed

I have used boxed.com several times and never had to wait longer then three days. This time, i ordered and waited 2 days to contact customer service, no phone number. Email only. First email was they were working on my order and sent me a tracking number, but nothing shipped. Emailed them again, same response. They were working on my package, nothing sent. 3rd email was working on my package, nothing sent. This company needs some customer service training! I couldn't have found a company that cares less for their customers then boxed. I will never order from them again.

I got a great deal on Amy's Organic Soups (8 cans to a box) so I ordered 4 boxes. They arrived promptly but every case had been OPENED and EVERY can inside was badly dented - and dented in a different place! They had opened the box and filled it with dented, substandard product! I have never seen anything like this! If they don't give me a full refund, I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. HORRIBLE company. Will never purchase from them again!

I bought 2 boxes of Reflections plastic silverware that says right on the box that it's heavyweight plastic. After opening I discovered that is very flimsy. The return procedure has been ridiculous. They won't accept anything opened... and they make you take an oath that it hasn't been opened, so I told them I opened one of the boxes to discover my dissatisfaction, but not the other, but that I thought they should refund both. Now they want me to send a picture of the unopened box before they will send a return label. I would have rather paid more at amazon knowing they tKe everything and anything back no questions asked. Very unhappy

I love ordering online, and for household and non perishable grocery items, Boxed is one of the places I order from. I also order from Amazon and Walmart. You really need to check prices: Boxed is not always the cheapest of the three (sometimes it's much more expensive, sometimes it's the cheapest). So what do I order? Polar Seltzer (you can only order three cases at a time, otherwise they say "out of stock") is a big component of every order, since we drink a ton of that stuff. Their nut mixes, paper towels, Palmolive, detergent, and snacks. Bear in mind that you probably won't need to pay sales tax or bottle deposit fee to Boxed, but Walmart and Amazon will charge you tax. I keep a spreadsheet to tell me which of the three stores has the cheapest price by volume after accounting for tax. But there's some stuff on Boxed that's way more expensive than Amazon and/or Walmart, so you really need to comparison shop.

I've always found Boxed stuff to be packed well, except the Smartfood Popcorn. Don't get the big bag, it's going to burst! Walmart is the worst of the three sites for packaging. Amazon is usually good. Anyway, I've never had a problem except the Smartfood incidents (tried that twice, neither worked).

Boxed stuff comes fast: I live in CT and their warehouse is in NJ. If I order in the morning, I often get the stuff the next day. Walmart is all over the place: you can place an order, and an item or two will come the next day while the other stuff will take a week or two. Amazon is mainly subscribe and save, so it just comes once a month.

Overall, I figure online shopping is more expensive than Costco. I'd say probably 5% to 10% more. However, you aren't paying sales tax (although most food items are exempt anyway), and you aren't paying membership or gas to get to the place.

First disappointment was the Kleenex which was not up to Kleenex standards and also had no number contained on the box - it ran out of tissues much more rapidly than the usual. I had ordered ahead of need, so received the Seventh Generation dishwasher powder for future use. It arrived enclosed in a sealed plastic bag. Opened it now to use and found lower half of box soaked with probably water. There was no water leak where it was stored. Trying to dry it out.
Will not use them again.
