I love boxed for the convenience and ease of ordering and knowing my order will come quickly. But I also appreciate how boxed is not owned by Amazon or Wal-Mart. This is important as I think we need competition to keep market rates affordable.

Not delivered to apartment, the heavy boxes was left at lobby floor. I did contact to BOXED about this problem several times.
I love using Boxed. I love having all the things I dont want to schlep from the grocery store delivered to my door. They have great snacks for my kids lunch boxes, and great deals on everything.
Always great deals, great products! Love the big selection of products to choose from including boxed brand items!. We order at least once if not twice a month!. Love the no membership fees and it's delivered to my door!

I really like using boxed, but every time I order anything liquid it is not packaged well and it spills all over the entire package. This happened 4 times with shampoo, mandarin oranges, canned soup and bottled water. I have just stopped ordering anything that is not a dried good. Otherwise boxed is great and I continue to use it.

... I didn't get the samples I have marked I wanted to get. Maybe they were out but usually they'd send me something else but there was none this time. Maybe they got busy with the holidays.

Great prices, easy to use website. I miss the Amex deal when it was a lower minimum price threshold for free delivery
So great to not have to endure the crowds at a warehouse club, Boxed has most of what I would've bought at a club. I also love not having to pay a membership fee.
I love the simplicity of ordering, the diversity of your products, and I love trying samples for a future purchase. Everything comes to my doorstep in record time... just wondering if there is someone who can put away my goodies LOL

From an operations standpoint, Boxed seems to be doing things right. Their website and shipping process are great. Placing orders is easy, food is packaged very well, and the whole process is smooth.
So why only 3 stars? For two primary reasons: The prices are nothing special, and many items are almost due to expire.
The majority of items they offer are essentially the same price as what I can get them for at my local grocer, and when Boxed is cheaper the difference is small.
But even more frustrating, many of the items Boxed has sent me are near their expiration dates. I guess that is a basic part of their business model, but it makes their products pretty much useless to resellers. And most individuals probably don't go through snacks in large enough quantities to warrant dealing with Boxed instead of just going to the grocery store.
In summary, despite doing well from an operational standpoint, I feel their basic business model seems flawed, and fails to provide me with enough of a price benefit or selection to warrant the short shelf life of the products. I doubt I'll ever use them again, and I struggle to understand who their main customers are. Their limited selection and the quick exparation of their items makes Boxed unattractive for resell purposes, and I can't imagine many individuals or families go through enough snacks fast enough to warrant bothering with a Boxed account.
