Boost Mobile Reviews Summary

Boost Mobile's reputation is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding customer service and product reliability. Customers frequently express frustration over long wait times, inadequate support, and unresolved service issues, including poor coverage and delays in order fulfillment. While some positive feedback highlights helpful individual representatives, the overall sentiment indicates a lack of cohesive support and organization within the company. Additionally, concerns about misleading information and billing practices further detract from customer satisfaction. This combination of factors suggests a pressing need for Boost Mobile to enhance its customer service protocols and improve service reliability to retain its clientele.

Horrible customer service, if and when you can actually speak with them. It's like their routine was et up to deliberately waste your time and give up and just live with the issues or buy a new phone, it's a bit of a scam.

I paid for my plan on the 7th as always. The 9th my phone was off. Then I was told to pay the plan over again or do without a phone for 5 days. I want my refund because next month I'm going to a different company. The people are rude. The company like to steal your money and tell you to deal with it. They are the worse company around.

I have called to complain about an extra service not working, monthly over payments taken by boost on an account that is at least six years with boost auto pay. The answers given are from a guidebook, when you ask to speak to a supervisor you get put on hold (until you get sick of waiting or they cut you off) When you ask their name again they give you and "Americanized" name that they can not pronounce. Ask where they are in the World, they won't answer. Ask to talk to someone in the US they give another runaround repeating what was said earlier. They have stated many times they will make the corrections and I should see the credits the next billing period the next month. With Dish buying Boost Mobile the FCC said the monopoly that T mobile had when they bought out Sprint and Boost was the sub service it had to be sold off. So Dish bought it, however they did not make it known until March 2022 that all the Boost subscribers had to change phones as their old phones would no longer work as of the end of March 2022. What a run around and headache that was. The local Boost store the clerk was an a** on the phone. Saying he had no idea if and when the Motorola moto plus would or if ever be available at that store. When I said I am a resident at a nearby nursing home, his answer was "We don't deliver or ship" I spoke later that night with a relative and forwarded the email Boost sent me. They went into a store in Texas (I live in Wisconsin) and they had no problem getting me the "FREE" up grade phone. Which turns out to be another 4g lte phone, probably on a different set of frequencies and NOT a 5 g phone. To me it sounds like the reuse of, new old stock, soon to be out of date phones.

Horrible!
April 6, 2022

We have been with this company for about five years because we bought phones for a good price and then had to wait until we could port. A cheap iPhone is not worth the horrible customer service! I could write pages about my experiences, but today I tried to call my husband and his phone was dead.
He lost his debit card a few weeks ago and got a new one so they couldn't charge him the $35.00. Off it goes. Emergency be damned. Do not use this company if you want to keep your sanity!

Deceptive practices
April 6, 2022

I was quoted a price, then they ported my phone number over to their network, then I was told a price almost three times the monthly price quoted several moments earlier. When I stated that I did not want to go through with the purchase they explained that since my number was already ported over I would lose my number if I did not complete the purchase. So I completed the purchase and then ported the number back to my original phone (different network) then tried to return their phone (30 minutes later) and was told NO Refunds. At wits end here. I've spoken to SO MANY clueless SO called experts on the chat on Boost Mobile. They keep asking me the same questions, giving me the same stupid answers (which I've tried each time) and of course at the end of all this time, sometimes 3 hours a day with these people (!), my phone still doesn't ring. Plus if it's shut off and someone calls and leaves a message, I don't get notifications that I've received a call at all, (after turning the phone back on).

All this company is good for is overcharging for Sim cards, canceling your service, and siphoning as much money as they can with the least amount of effort. The customer service is terrible and you're stuck talking to a robot for 100% of the call which never resolves any issues that are more than making more payments. I seriously do not know how this company is still open given such a terrible track record of customer service.

If I could I would rate no stars. This is a robbery company! You pay for unlimited data and it's gone within a day! You can't watch any videos make any FaceTime calls or send iMessages. This company needs to be shut down. Not to mention most of your phone calls are dropped and/or with a loud beeping noise. This is a ridiculous company. They never try to accommodate or fix the issue all they want if your money and/or to add data.

I ordered a phone feb 22nd. Decided the next day that I didn't want it, because I wanted a different phone. I Called and was told by a slow rep that I couldn't cancel the order and that I had to wait until the phone was delivered to me in order for me to send it back for a full refund. Phone was suppose to be delivered feb 28th but instead boost sent a request to ups to return the phone back to them the day it was to be delivered to me. I received notification that boost requested that the phone be returned instead of delivered. Called boost and spoke to a goofy slow rep who said I had to wait until they receive the phone back and once the phone was received I would then get a refund. The phone was delivered back to boost March 1st. I called and multiple slow goofy reps stated that I had to now wait "7-14" business days for a refund. They also confirmed that they had received the phone March 1st. It's now March 26th. I called yesterday and all of a sudden now the slow goofy rep said that they never received the phone even though I have tracked the order and know that the phone was received by someone named "REY" at the dock. Then I spoke to another slow goofy rep who said it hasn't been 7-14 business days yet and that I need to continue to wait for a refund. Lol. It's funny because I did research before even deciding to go with this weird company but I wanted to get my own experience instead of listening to all the other terrible reviews. I wish I would have listened and saved my money. SMH.

Ripoff Company
March 25, 2022

They require you to get a new phone or lose service, but then they change your plan without telling you. Customer service is a joke, and good luck understanding them. I was under a special plan that Boost Mobile had for years, but now they removed it and forced me to purchase a brand new phone and they promised that I can remain on the same plan I just had to pay and wait for the next billing cycle; however, that was not the case. Thye put me on a much more expensive plan and even remove one of my family lines from my account. I had to call customer service and they informed me that the old plan is no longer available and I had to pay much more to reactivate my account and bring back the second line on my account. Boost Mobile didn't like having so many customers under the old plan, so they forced loyal customers to pay for an upgrade to brand new phones, all the time promising that the plan would stay the same for the same price. Yet, when the billing cycle ends it automatically switched over to a more expensive plan. Stay away from Boost Mobile!

We were Boost customers for a few years - decent coverage, good rates, etc. At the start of this year they insisted that everyone upgrade their SIM chip - they were changing to a new network. My son no longer gets coverage at college, I get no service in my mom's town and my husband has minimal service where he works. They refused to acknowledge it so we decided to switch providers. In order to do so, we need our account number - they REFUSE to give us our account number unless we trek into the store to physically obtain it. Which is a challenge when you're dealing with disabilities. This is insane. I don't know what happened - they used to be good. I'll never recommend them at this point.

I haven't changed services for over a decade and had a perfectly fine working phone, but during whatever merger they're going through, they made me get a new SIM card. For some reason, they wouldn't just send me one. Chat said my phone was still compatible at least, which is the only reason I decided to stay with the company. I went to the store, because their online chat wouldn't just send me a card. The guy in the store told me I wouldn't be charged for the SIM, but when he tried to insert it, he said the phone wasn't compatible.

For some dumb reason, I didn't just find a new service then. Like a fool, I ordered a new phone. So I went to another store to get a new SIM, which was completely empty by the way, and they said I would be charged $25 for PUTTING A LITTLE CARD INTO A SLOT AND BECAUSE I WENT TO A PHYSICAL EMPTY STORE. I was livid. I was late for something and seeing red, so they got me for another $25.

So now I'm out nearly a grand, and I'm struck with this company until I can find a company willing to go through the trouble of unlocking my new phone, or until this one breaks. You got me, Boost. I hope you enjoy what's left of your miserable existence. Because if you keep scamming your long-time customers, it won't be long.

Boost has been blowing up my phone and my family's phones for 6 months with the 3G crap. Knowing that my phone is 4G I have assumed this didnt apply to me until my outgoing calls were redirected on 03/17/22 to an automated message from Boost about how my phone will be obsolete by the end of March. I had even read documetation saying any phone manufactured before10/2019 would be affected. I couldnt call out on my phone for 3 days, it kept going to the automated message. So I bought new ones thinking I had no choice instead of realizing that Boost is just inept and willfully fraudulent and decietful in their business practices.

No Replacement Parts
March 21, 2022

Just bought a Celero 5g, the store didn't have a case or screen protector for this phone at the time of purchase. The phone looks nice and smooth; and the color is better than that. But my screen is cracked now and no location or service request can fix it. Boost, why sell a phone without a location or replacement parts for such phone. Now I have to buy a new phone and it won't be a Celero. Boost you owe me a phone.

Boost reps are liars!
March 21, 2022

Where to start? I had been a customer for 5+ years. I had bought and paid for a phone thru them and early this year it refused to charge. We had an extra phone, the same exact model, my bf bought from Straight Talk. The phone was unlocked and Boost reps lied and refused to activate. The phone is activated right now thru another carrier. Boost lied over and over saying it was not unlocked and I was pushed into a situation of purchasing a new phone thru Boost in order to keep my #. This new phone I am currently writing this from, is bought and paid for and should belong to me. But I need to keep paying these thieves thru the rest of the year until my phone can be unlocked and I can move to another carrier. Since my phone at the time was completely dead, we used my bf phone to call boost customer service, he was also on the line telling them that his phone was unlocked. We had given them his number as a call back number (remember my line was dead) and for 3 days he received prank phone calls from India. Not the usual scams where they are trying to get something from you. These were very 'unprofessional' sounding pranks where they were just doing this to taunt us. You want to know how scammers are getting phone numbers? I'd check employment records of all the outsourced mobile carriers customer service centers first!
