Was sent wrong book...

Unfortunately, i was sent wrong book. Correct book was (and is) in inventory. Same book was then listed at higher price. Customer service was nice and responsive sending refund. Was then told to buy book at higher price. Felt someone should have taken initiative to send the right book at same price as ordered.

I'll give them this — they have a relatively user friendly platform similar to Amazon's old buy back program with a wide array of books. Pricing is definitely not the most competitive, but at least transparent.

I attempted to sell back two books; one for a buy back value of $35 and the other $5. I sent both in — was told that the $35 was mysteriously a "counterfeit" (hard to believe, I bought it directly from my university's book store). They would not pay for it and instead stated they turned the book in to the authorities. Thought it was odd to see that this is apparently something that happens A LOT with this business. I lost out on my reimbursement and they would not do the right thing and just give me back my book. Super disappointed, felt very scammy.

Be very careful when doing business with Booksrun.com. If they deem a book is counterfeit, they will shut down your account, even with payments pending, and you will not get your books back. I had four "counterfeit" books in their system, and I wasn't paid for any of them. I still don't know if the books are actually fake or not; I have to take their word for it. These books were acquired through legitimate outlets. I had 15 other books that were not deemed as counterfeit, and I had to push them several times to get my payout. I will never do business with them again. I have dealt with other book resellers who had a much smoother and more fair experience. Even if the books were not legitimate, I was treated as a criminal, and my family was also mistreated. They declared that I was using fake accounts to get around their policies, but my sons also had accounts where they were selling books to them. Am I disappointed that they shut down my account? Not really, because I only do business with legitimate companies that care about their customers. Steer clear.

Very poor customer service, poor quality book

The textbook sent had writing on almost every page, too distracting to read. I emailed them and four days later they have not responded. I am in a graduate program and need this book for my course. Their delayed response is impacting my outcome.

Can't beat a beat up book that is a bang for your buck.

I have to write 53 words about a beat up book? Hmm, some blemishes and writing in it, but otherwise all the words are in there. Love that price.

Book buyback is a scam!

DO NOT sell your books through BooksRun!
I sent brand new, unused books in excellent condition. After seeing the red flags others have raised about their buyback, I took photos showing the condition of the books and even a video showing the books being packed and sealed, including with a plastic bag to protect from water damage (which seems to be their standard reason for downgrading book condition).
They lowered the price from $150 to $60. The photos they sent don't show any damage at all. Even if we go with their "Used - Acceptable" rating their current buyback price for that condition is $120!
Overall this company appears to be scam. They promise to pay top dollar to sellers and then lowball them after getting the books. Most people do not want to pay $20 to have the books shipped back so they end up accepting the lowball offer. They then turn around and sell those same books at a huge markup to buyers. Notice that the high ratings are all from buyers not sellers.

Update:
Attaching pictures that I took and that Booksrun sent. They rated the condition as "Used - Acceptable". Attaching screenshot showing what they are saying they will pay for books in that condition.

Booksrun contacted me after my review (but did not respond to my direct email to them about the order). Booksrun followed up about my previous review. After back and forth exchanges, they agreed to pay a little more for two of the books but claimed the third one was damaged very badly. I don't know how that is possible given all three were packed in the same plastic bag and box when it was shipped to them.
Overall, I would still recommend that people trying to sell their books stay away from booksrun.

They took forever to ship a book that I ordered in plenty of time to receive before school started then want 10% restocking fee after I had to buy another book to start class with.
There are many other options to buy books online, use them!
They were extremely slow getting the book to me and extremely slow in doing a refund.

1. I got all my books quickly.
2. I learned that I didn't actually need to have one of my books for class, the website states there is a 21 day return policy but I couldn't figure out how to apply that policy. I emailed BooksRun multiple times and got confirmation emails that they'd respond in the next couple of business days but there was never any follow up. It has now been over 21 days so it looks like I can only sell the book back. Maybe I totally misunderstood the policy, but it was very vague on the site.
3. Selling and buying books is easy, good luck getting a response on questions or returns.

Sellers please read before selling your textbooks

I was initially quoted $70~ for my buyback order, and it was reduced to less than half of my quote once they received my textbooks. I immediately sent an inquiry about an adjusted quote for "water damage" on January 9th and was not contacted by this company for over a week (other reviewers have complained of the same, watch out). It was a blurry photo that showed absolutely nothing. They ignored my inquiry and automatically approved the adjusted quote (I did not approve this). I was forced to call after a week of no response, and I asked about the disputed adjusted quote for my textbook. After some hemming and hawing, eventually I just asked the operator to return ALL of my good condition books as they were put on hold and not yet processed.

I was told by a guy named Oleg that they would return all of my books and that I would receive an email confirming this at 1pm. I received an email at 1pm telling me that I would not, in fact, be receiving all of my textbooks because they'd already been processed, and they were going to keep three of my textbooks and send me $15 to my Paypal. Now I cannot get a hold of anyone! You will never be allowed to speak directly to a supervisor or a manager, only one of their four total customer service agents. I wish I read the reviews before sending them the textbooks I paid over $300 for. I normally don't write reviews, but I made an account just to let others be aware of what a joke this experience has been. I am now dealing with Paypal to reject the $15 that AZ Texts LLC sent me.

UPDATE: Oleg has offered me an ENTIRE 8% off coupon to compensate me for stealing my books and sending me pocket change! 10/10, will never deal with online sellers again.

UPDATE 2: Oleg accused me of plotting some nefarious premeditated violation of their book policy, as well as harassment for trying to contact them repeatedly about this, all the while denying any wrongdoing on the company's end. All of this could've been resolved if they didn't take more than seven business days to answer a simple question. Stay far away from whatever shady business this is.
