The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I booked an apartment for 3 days in the same day I arrived at the apartment but the reservation is not on the system as what the owner told me. The owner show us his booking app It didn't appear on his account about my reservation but I received the confirmation of the reservation in my email. And the owner wants me to pay in cash If i want to stay in his apartment but the amount is more than the amount listed in booking.com.
Both booking.com and the apartment owner are scam. They charge my credit card but the reservation didn't go thru but I received the confirmation email and the transaction show up in my credit card.
This is the first time I had this issue I been using booking for several years. I called the customer service several times and they give you hope that you can get the refund of the amount that has been charge on my credit card.
If you want to reserved an apartment or hotel room better go to their website directly or go somewhere.
I booked a room with booking.com and when I arrived was not what it was said to be and when I expressed my concerns the owner told me to leave.
I contacted booking.com customer service and they did nothing I got charged for a room I never used the owner kept my money when they breeched the contract. Booking.com did nothing... worst site to book a room on never use them again!
I book a room through them and stayed at best western plus. They charge me double for the room. And during my stay my room had Roaches so I request a refund and left so since I went through booking.com the hotel sent the refund back to booking.com they would not give me my money back or any compensation on my bad stay. Booking.com charge me $189.00 and then they receive a $112.00 from best western. These company are scammers and they don't care if you have a problem. DO NOT USE THEM.
My credit card has been hacked after I did booked on their site, took me a while to find where to write them and no reply…. They just don t care.
This was the last time I used this website…
I work for Suncor as a security consultant, I was asked to come to a conference last minute in Calgary Alberta from somewhere in the USA, I booked my hotel on my flight so you could say I was already committed, I did it through PayPal thinking it would be safer but I was wrong, at the end of the process it came up there's a problem, but the real problem is they charged my credit card for the room and the security deposit and I didn't get a confirmation, contacted the property no record, booking says don't worry it's just a pre authorization, you'll have the money returned in 7-10 business days. Oh and I'm supposed to just keep charging 750$ hotel rooms to My personal credit card until it works like I'm a millionaire or something, I told them in any other situation with any other hospitalty provider they would be put me up for the inconvience, booking.com just stops replying after they tell you there refund policy... Learn from my mistake. Book direct.
The hotel is discussing no hot water the bathtub is all cracked up and dirty as soon as you walked into the hotel you could see the floors are dirty, the hotel is not clean. I don't think anyone should ever book with Agoda, you asked for your they tell it's non refundable. I wanted to go home as soon I got into my room. They WI-FI is horrible, there is nothing nice about this hotel
I found a really great deal for a hotel for my annual girls trip. I booked 4 rooms, each under its own reservation just in case someone has to back out. Two days later, Booking canceled all 4 reservations because I booked 4 times for the same dates at the same place. When booking, it asks if you're booking for yourself or someone else. I provided the other people's names and emails so that they can see the rooms aren't all for me. Also, while booking the additional rooms, there's a pop up letting you know that you already booked a room asking if you want to continue to which I replied yes. If they thought I made an error, they should have contacted me instead of canceling on me! Now…multiple calls later, I either get hung up on, or promised an email to explain what happened. One girl said I can just rebook at the new rates and tell my friends they no longer have the reservations. She was so unhelpful! The company even disabled my account and blocked my credit card so that I can't reserve a room even if I wanted too! They do not care! They do not help. And the fact that you HAVE to have a confirmation number to even reach a live person is ridiculous.
Never ever use booking.com
I booked a room in new Brunswick and put wrong date in by error I called with in 10 min
They refused to give me a refund
This company is a joke I hope they go bankrupt
I booked 2 rooms in Allentown with Booking.com. Due to a medical issue, one of the rooms had to be cancelled. I called the hotel and they cancelled it with no fees. I also notified Booking.com. I have been a month trying to get my credit card refunded for the one room. I am getting the run around from Booking.com. I have spoken to the manager of the hotel who told me they have not been contacted by Booking.com about a refund. Ten minutes later I got an email from Booking.com saying they tried to call the manager (who I had just spoken to) and he wasn't available until next week. I finally called my credit card and filed a dispute. I had never used Booking.com before and I will never use it again.
Just book through the hotel direct, you will get a cheaper price. When you use booking.com you actually pay more for rooms with less amenities. Booking.com is a huge rip off.
They have one of the worse customer services I have ever seen. They lie to you when you contact them and intentionally don't complete some of the bookings online and tell you things like it is in a pending state. Wait a 72 hours and it will send confirmation. If you wait any period of time and call them especially if it is on a holiday, their answer is it didn't go through you can rebook, knowing that they have raised the rate at least 60 dollars. And it is an endless loop. Complete incompetent Customer Service!
I booked with booking.com for the first time. It charged me a pet fee even though we had no pet. There was no option to opt out. I contacted booking.com customer service to get a refund on the pet fee. It has been a very frustrating experience. I was asked to provide a ton of information related to the booking, which I did. They kept on asking for the name of the merchant which was nevere provided to me by booking.com. Still no refund.
Would not use booking.com again if there is an alternative.
I was pleased with getting a hotel reservation in Tennessee using booking.com: good price, no problems. I went through PayPal; everything was tidy. I then discovered a foreign transaction fee assessed by BOA. I was informed that if I use my BOA card from a company located outside of the U. S (booking.com), I will have to pay a foreign transaction fee. BOA added a designation to my PayPal transaction with "NLD." I am told by a BOA associate that NLD stands for "Never Land." I didn't catch the designation for "D."
The folks at BOA graciously waived the fee this time; I think because I am a long-standing member. I did some research and discovered that the HQ of booking.com is located in the Netherlands, hence, "foreign!". If I use anything related to booking.com in the future and use my BOA card, I will be assessed a foreign transaction fee, and so will you if that is your preferred credit card. The fee was minimal, but for me, it was the principle of the matter. BOA may be a trendsetter or following behind someone else. I am retired and living in Tennessee, and I thought I would inform others of what I just discovered.
If I could give them -100 stars I would do it. They canceled my trip without my knowledge and said it is not refundable. I lost my trip and money ($3150, 78), even with protection, but was a BIG LIE. Customer service very rude and every time I called; they gave me different information without any knowledge. NOT RECOMANDED AT ALL
Booking.com charges 18% deposit and gives no customer service to its partners. They have charged us, a small guest house commission on no shows and refused to refund because the customer lies and says they stayed. They have closed our bookings over a disputed $20 bill. As a small hotel, this is devastating to our business - but of course, they don't care. Several emails and telephone phone calls to their customer service team have consistently been ignored whilst our bookings are closed at peak time. I would encourage bookers to support small businesses by booking directly with the accommodation. Yes, find the accommodation on booking.com, read the reviews and decide on which accommodation you want. Then Google the hotel and book directly with them. Sometimes, small hotels offer a better rate than the booking.com advertised price.
The founders of Booking.com have come up with a wonderful concept and marketed that business model in a great way, but unfortunately here too success leads to arrogance and greed.
We have made extensive use of Booking.com in recent years and as long as everything is satisfactory, there is nothing to worry about. Until a problem arises and you raise it with Booking.com. Then all the shutters close, you are not taken seriously, sent from pillar to post and finally ignored. That behavior is similar to how insurance companies have done that in the past, i. E. ignore everything for as long as possible, reject it ten times and then see what remains of claims.
We thought we were alone in this, until we took a look at the experiences of others on Trustpilot. I recommend everyone to do the same. More than 35,000 reviews have been posted about Booking.com, 25% of which were positive (I get that, because we thought that too until earlier this year). However, there are also 63% of reviews with a "very bad" rating. That is more than 22,000, which indicates that we are certainly not alone in this. It is therefore not surprising that Trustpilot's final figure is a meager 1.3.
I do not have the illusion that we as a private individual are able to influence the behavior of Booking.com on our own. These types of companies are only affected by their wallets, so I can wholeheartedly recommend everyone to make sure to use the fantastic website of Booking.com, but to place the final reservation directly with the hotel or with a competitor.
I revered an apartment BROWNSTONE LIVING in Brooklyn NY for few employees. Once my employees arrived, they were not able to access the facility. We called the property, messaged them through booking.com but never heard back. Meanwhile, our employees stranded in Brooklyn all night long. I called Booking.com demanding full refund, the rep on the phone could not find any record of charges and asked me to send her screen shots from my bank. I called American express and they reversed the charges in minutes. Save your employees and family! Do not use booking.com.
Worst customer service. We were traveling with infant and they didn't put all information and when we asked basinet for our infant, airlines was not able to book due to incomplete information.
I called several times Booking.com customer service but they weren't doing anything
WORST WORST WORST
NEVER BOOK FLIGHT TICKET
I got a rental car through them, and canceled it or so I thought. Clicked. Later come to find out, where it had me clicked to cancel, only canceled the insurance and not the actual booking and they charged me half the cost which was like $264.00 because I canceled past the deadline. Then I couldn't get a hold of them; they tell you you need a four digit PIN on your reservation number to even be able to talk to someone, which doesn't exist. I will never use them again as long as I live and urge that no one gets scammed like I have. I suggest you go directly to the main websites and use their discounts instead.
Very bad experience with international hotel booking after I got confirmation with a number the hotel didn't have the reservation showing up in their system despite booking.Com gave me confirmed number for my reservation. Then I had to scramble to find an empty room to book for my family on arrival
I contacted customer service and they told me they will investigate and nothing happen so far other than plan to send me 25 euro voucher after me spending an extra 300-400$ for their system mistake of not processing my booking. Lesson learnt never book through booking.com for international hotels
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
