The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booking.com is not worth booking with! They leave you in the lurch once you book with them I endlessly tried to find their phone number to call on their website all in vain to discuss an urgent matter about a booking
When you send an email to customer services there is no solution as they send you back a message to say that emails are no longer monitored for replies. This is instead of helping you
So the 24/7 customer help is not true it is just a con!
They offer no support after you pay them the money
Shame on them!
I had booked a resort at cesar palace 3 months in advanced for 2 seperate rooms our big family vacation. When i arrived at check in at cesar palace, I was told only 1 room was booked and came up in their system (cesar palace), when i called booking.com they told me they had to resend and email to cesar palace manager. I heard the same story from booking.com staff like 4 times, after (4hrs) of the same story, i asked for a refund on the 2 room, because cesar palace couldnt find it. Luckily we got lucky and cesar palace had a 2nd open room for us to buy for a stay. If you belive you booked a hotel or resort through booking.com, i would not guratee you will get your hotel/ resort room, they just get your money and forget about reserving your room. Save yourself a headache, dont book with them!
Even the staff at cesar palace told us it happens all the time through booking.com.
We arrived to our destination after driving 12 hours. Went to hotel to check in at 6 pm to find it closed that day. No advanced warning and all surrounding hotels were booked full. We were on the phone to booking.com for help. First person said would check for us and would call right back. After 30 minutes no call back. Called booking. Com again different rep same process no call back. In the mean time we are frantically calling all over town for a hotel. While we were calling hotels I tried booking. Com again. Different rep I explained this was our 3rd attempt and please call me back. Of course she didn't. By 9:00 we found a room. They only had suites that cost us double. Oh by the way we received a text claiming booking.com canceled our reservation at no charge at 4:00 pm. Wow how nice no charge. I know it's not booking. Com's fault they shut down. However no support after the fact with booking. Com. Never using booking.com again!
They put a listing on their website with incorrect information e.g. incorrect pictures etc. The hotel in question is Days inn at Madison Heights in Michigan. When I got there, it was filthy and I couldn't stay there. I called booking.com and asked for a full refund because the advertised photos did not match the state of the hotel. I was told that I had made a purchase through a "Partner" and hence they couldn't assist me. I didn't understand what a Partner meant, apparently they are selling other third party sites hotel rooms on their site and charging a fee to both the customer and the other third party site. So I contacted the hotel directly for my refund, they refunded one night to me. However, this amount is in limbo, booking.com won't give me back the money asking me to contact the hotel directly every time even though the hotel refunded me the money. I used to book with booking.com every time, but never again, will never book through them even if it is a cheaper deal. Luckily I only lost 50 usd. Their scam site is probably stealing money from so many customers saying that it is a "Partner" deal and pushing all the blame to the customer.
Absolutely incompetent, fraudulent and untrustworthy.
DO NOT USE THEM, JUST BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL, ETC
Any extra offers/specials which they claim they will provide won't be given, and won't be reimbursed.
Absolute scam operators
Please do not use this website, it's only when something goes wrong that you really find out what a company is like! Booked a hotel in London only to find that it was nothing short of a slum, contacted Booking.com minutes after we arrived to inform them that we could not stay here. I am still trying to get a refund.
My flight was booked through booking.com and then later cancelled one hour prior to the scheduled departure by United.
Booking.com said I needed to talk to United for refund saying they couldn't do anything about it. As you could guess, I had to go through all cascades of ordeals talking/emailing/online. To finally have had United send refund to Booking.com (instead of me?). Then I have talked/emailed to Booking.com to get the refund to me and also had to forward them the refund email I had got from United. Well, that was more than a month ago.
Today I am on the phone again with Booking.com, talking to 3rd person in last 30 mins, explaining same story again and again.
Bookings.com, You are not reliable!
BEWARE. You think you are booking with the hotel directly, but this is not the case. Booking.com is a third party reseller or rooms. They are extremely rude and an awful company to deal with. Even if the hotel has a good cancellatiion policy of one night before, booking.com will not apply the same cancellation policy and will hold you to one nights room deposit if you cancel. If you want to book a hotel, please beware and do not click on the link that says: *******@booking.com.
I've travelled extensively and have stayed in many apartments, hotels, Inns, etc. but this one was one of the worst places I've ever been to. It is grossly misrepresented on the Booking.com website and the entrance looks like a garage/parking area that was renovated. The inside is quite small and there is NO lighting at all or windows for any fresh air. There isn't a front desk at all, just a sign outside and then, they want you to pay for everything upfront. The apartment is super cramped and it's not even possible to use the microwave which is located in a cubby area above the bed. While the bathroom does have some newly renovated amenities, this was clearly all done recently and in order to take advantage of the refugee situation. There are prices listed on absolutely everything in the apartment and a clear sign of greed by the owners. I would NOT recommend ever staying here to be honest and cancelled my last night. I ended up staying at the Glass Cube hotel for I believe $5-8 more, but it was 100 times better, cleaner and so much nicer. DO NOT stay at this place!
I had a family trip to Toronto in the 1st week of Sep'22 and booked hotel "Comfort Inn Mississauga", checking in 9/2, check out 9/5, through Booking.com. Booking number: *******838, at total cost CAD 452.66.
When my family checked in Comfort Inn Mississauga in 9/2 evening, the hotel could not find my booking record. I contacted Booking.com and their service contact said they would find an alternative place, but did not provide a solution until 10:30pm local time. I worked with Comfort Inn Mississauga to get a two queen size bed room (the same type room that I booked)@ CAD 220 (before tax) for 9/2 night, but for the next two nights (9/3 to 9/5), Comfort Inn Mississauga has no room available.
Later, Jason B. From Booking.com Service team sent an email and asked me to book Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto Pearson International Airport for 9/3 to 9/5@ total CAD 949.56 with room booking link provided. I double-checked and Booking.com confirmed they would refund me the price difference with invoice provided. However, after I submitted the email to Booking.com to ask for refund with invoices provided, Booking.com mentioned they could only CAD 161, instead of the "price difference" that they previously promised. I also reported by case to BBB and BBB tried to contact Booking.com but they just don't response anymore.
Stay away from Booking.com
We had very wonderful wekeend in bloemfontein we booked fr9m friday 7 and check out 9 October and we are certainly coming back next year on the wekeend of macufe 2023
Let me give you the scoop on the Econo Lodge. When we go there I notice that there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for renovations. But I notice that there were a hand full of cars around in the parking lot. So I walked around the corner of the building and saw a few sketchy people. I got back into the car and drove further back to see if there was another office set up somewhere else. I was like "WWHHAATT?"
It looked like I drove into the ghettos. There were a bunch of people in the back section of the motel sitting, walking around, riding bikes. I'm not sure if they were squatting and just took up residence there. I turned around and drove out. We drove back home that night. When I got home I called booking.com and gave them I piece of my mind then went on PayPal wallet where it gave me an option when I booked it and set a clam to get my money back, then recalled booking.com and gave them another piece of my mind. In 30 minutes I had my money back. Booking.com will not get a good rating from me I'm afraid.
DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM!
Booked Spacesavers apartment in Sheffield, I paid £79 by card through Booking.com. After confirming my booking I received a message asking for £150 cash bank transfer and copies of my passport/driving licence from Spacesavers.
I found this very unusual as all the years using booking.com this is the first time I've been asked for this.
I think in the world of cybercrime that we live in, it wasn't unreasonable for me to think I'm being scammed.
I declined the request and asked to cancel the booking and for a refund, this is all within a few minutes of the booking. Spacesavers refused my request and quoted their t&c's, I asked several times and was refused each time.
I had to book alternative accommodation for the night, again through booking.com. I contacted booking.com straight away and they contacted Spacesavers who again refused to cancel and refund.
I asked the advisor with booking.com to allow me to speak to a manager, he put me on hold and said a manager refused to speak with me. After more than 1 hour on the call I finally got to speak with a manager who clearly couldn't care less regarding my situation, showed no empathy whatsoever. Very flippant.
I've contacted my credit card company for their help, hopefully I will get my money back.
I have emailed booking.com with my concerns, they offered me €25 as compensation. I said you can put that on my account as a goodwill gesture, however. I still want my £79 back!
Im still waiting on the €25 goodwill gesture.
I left a negative review on booking.com and had several messages between myself and Spacesavers, all have disappeared. I've emailed booking.com on several occasions with no response.
We have booked tickets to LasVegas & we couldn't secure a US visa before our travel date, our travel is on 15/10/2022, and we are chasing Booking.com ticketing partners GO TO GATE customer care for 40 days to give us vouchers or refunds. We also requested to book later dates as we paid $600 for the Flexi option but they are asking for $2000 extra for a fare difference, but we can see clearly in booing.com tickets for the same price as paid but they can't book it. Bookig.com or GO TO GATE is not worried about the customers or their emotions, they want to loot customer money & they are avoiding our calls & not giving a callback or passing the call to the manager. NEVER BOOK FLIGHTS FROM BOOKING.COM OR GO TO GATE they are terrible & they play with the customer's emotions.
Had a trip planned for 20th anniversary! Paid for the tickets 6 months in advance. Every Email I received flight was confirmed. Get to the airport no longer have a flight for me and my wife! Called, called! No help. Tried to cancel Reservation At the Resort in Punta Cana. No refund! Thanks for taking $3600 of my money to not do a damn thing except ruined my 20th Anniversary.
Horrible customer service. I was left stranded in a different country without a flight to my destination due to an error that booking.com made. Instead of acknowledging their error and helping me find a solution they refused to help me find a new flight or a hotel for the night, they left me on hold for hours, AND they refused to reimburse me for the flight I could not board due to their error. Customer service was unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. I will NEVER book with them again and will discourage others from using their services as well.
Fairly easy to use to make reservations, but customer service is extremely difficult to get in touch with, and not terribly helpful once reached.
We had to cancel a hotel we booked through Booking.com and no refund after nearly two months. I requested them to resend confirmation with 5 times and nothing. Contacted Customer Service and sent them my reservation information 3 times to try and get them assist. All I got was another email requesting the same information. No 1-800 number. This is the second cancellation issue with them with zero customer service. I had been using them since I got points with Southwest Airlines, but will not use Booking again.
Booked a car for Europe and when we got there they said the car had been canceled! Had to pay for another car. Booking.com will not refund the money we had paid them one month prior to trip! Awful customer relations... we NEVER use them again!
Simply by the user friendliness of their mobile apps/website, I would recommend Booking.com to my friends/family. However, I have no choice but to rate 1 star because I can confirm that you cannot be rest assured that your credit card is safe while using Booking.com. Just last month, total of 7 unauthorized usage of my credit card happened on same day (2 days after I used the same card to book a stay via their mobile apps). I can confirm because the first 10-digits transaction reference number of the unauthorized transactions are identical to the transaction that approved for Booking.com.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
