The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

They promised a full refund when I booked and payed for a room I did not end up staying in because the room smelled like urine and I had my 2 yr old daugther. They said they could offer 10% and no more! This should be considered stealing. Never using booking.com again
This website is like they present you a package in a good price, and after you place the order you will see they have charged you more than what you have ever considered. Before placing my order I also called them but they gave me wrong info. From now booking.com is a no no for me.
My son wedding ruined by BOOKING.COM and has caused us much stress, we booked twice with BOOKING.COM and cancelled on us both times, How can anybody trust BOOKING.COM Please beware everyone!
I just booked my hotel room in vadodra and when i enter my mobile number one message arrived on my messege box it contains one link.when i clicked on that link direct page open of booking.com.it shows all hotel in cheap prices.when we book the hotel as per our need.it takes to next process. Next process is veryfing email id.when we enter our email id.one email send by them with another link.we just clicked on the link and our emailed is being confirmed.ater that third process of payment is started.when we enter card payment it asked our card details.as soon as we enter our card detail, expiry date of that card, our name on that card, and CVV that fraud website shows our booking was confirmed. But it was trapped and we entered our card details.thank god we are safely blocked our card immediately.and we are safe now.
I just want to share my experience to save money for others also.
Booking.com are a disgrace, they took money off me for a fully booked hotel, then after there mistake they said they would return it 7 to 12 days later.14 days later the fraudsters still havent returned it. Ive been told they do this to make intrest on peoples money. Avoid them if you don't want to be scammed
They offer $#*!y hotels that attempt against our personal security, we were scared to stay there, besides the pictures in their site were by far no the reality we encountered! All dirt, bugs, humidity all over the room, people yelling on the corridors, not even mention the elevators! When we asked for a refund because it was obvious that for our own safety, we were not staying there, they refused to give our money back. They should check before offering hotels that could harm people. It's their responsibility. Never ever after that incident we'll be booking with Booking. Never again! They are scammers!
I used them for a booking which I canceled via free cancellation and a $150 charge showed up on my statement with the vendor name booking.com hotel and they were inflexible/unwilling to refund it. They were unable to tell me where the charge came from after investigating and would not refund. I'm not sure how that's legitimate and they are borderline a scam company now. I would not use them as a third party.
I can't say enough great things about this app. Clear and concise information, great customer service, and very understanding of unique circumstances. In my opinion, everybody should be using booking.com to book their hotel reservations.
Do no use this site, or really any other travel agency. Nowadays you can get the exact same rates directly through the airlines. These companies will absolutely not help you in any way shape or form. I've had them make changes to my itinerary without my consent, and without influence from the airline, and I've never been able to make changes or cancellations even when I paid for the right to do so. In this most recent case I even spoke with the airline and they wanted to help me but I was at the mercy of booking.com. DO NO USE THIS COMPANY, or any other online travel agency for that matter.
There are times when late refund becomes no refund, and when the benefit of the doubt moves from possible confusion and incompetence to downright sharp practice.
Booking.com are over that line.
Second bad and very disappointing experience. My international flight was delayed by 16 hours. I contacted bookings.com immediately to ask not to charge me for the first night as I will not make it snd explained the reason. Bookings.com directed me to contact the property direct. After several international calls and waiting for automated messages, the receptionist at the property said it's up to bookings.comm to cancel. All this just to get an email from bookings.com yo say they can't waive the charges for the cancelation and will charge a full rate.
In this financially difficult time, bookings. Com are not interested at all yo assist their customers.
DONT USE TGEM BECAUSE IF THINGS GO WRONG THEY NEVER HELP
Their scores/reviews of the hotel are scam. A supposedly excellent hotel was very dirty, and they removed photos from my review of the hotel on their platform
On NOV 2.2022 I booked a "FLIGHT" from Allentown PA to Pittsburgh through booking.com. See video below. This is the flight i chose. I then proceeded to choose a seat, which i pad extra for, on both "FLIGHTS". I use Oxygen and realized when i got my confirmation email that I forgot or missed the page that asked for any special needs. So I called American Airlines to make sure my oxygen devise was approved for their aircrafts. This is when i was told the first leg of my trip was by BUS! I said,:there must be some misunderstanding, i booked a flight. The man was very sweet and he even personally looked onto booking.com to confirm there is NO MENTION OF LAND TRAVEL OR BUS! Now please look at the photos below, and video to see that NOWHERE does it say LAND or BUS. I made NUMEROUS call to customer service. ALL CALLS go to INDIA, where 1. The translation issue is unbelievable. 2. The calls get gut off, 3. All they do is read your reservation back to you, and say the Airline must have changed it, or deny it is by bus. This went on for nearly 6 weeks, after I did indeed finally confirm that I was traveling by BUS, my biggest concern was how was I physically getting to the plane in Philadelphia from that BUS, That ended up with an email stating "we at booking.com understand you would like to cancel your reservation." OMG. I finally gave up after dozens of calls Enid emails,(as you can see) that never answered my question of 1. HOW can you advertise-SELL- and confirm a bus trip as Flight number 6351 by American Airlines? The gentleman at American Airlines was so upset, that he said he was going to tell his higher ups about this. AA was kind enough to explain that the bus drives onto the tarmac, you then walk to the building, up the stairs, go to your gate and then board your plane. When i explained I wasn't able, a wheel chair was assigned to me to meet me at the bus. On my last call to booking. Com I was told i must have picked the option of BUS instead of PLANE….There was no option! Use them at your own risk!
I have just spent over two hours trying to book flights on Booking.com and most of the flights I select end up not being available. Somehow the website needs to figure out how to keep up with what is available and what isn't, rather than continuing to display flights as though they are available.
I also contacted customer service about this, both via email and by phone, and did not receive satisfactory help in making a booking.
While traveling, I learned that my brother had a plumbing emergency at his house (where I planned to stay). Went online to find an alternative. Booking.com did not reveal that there was a cancellation charge (in fact, the entire one-night stay) until AFTER I had made the hotel reservation. Even then, the information was halfway down the page, buried within a list of other things. While this may be legal, it's sleazy. I'm a frequent traveler, but I won't be using Booking.com again!
I cannot believe how many bad reviews are on here. I have been using Booking.com for years- never needed to contact customer service.
Almost two months ago I made a booking and the property asked through the messages for extra personal details on an external website- including bank details and an additional deposit. I then contacted Booking.com, saying that I would like to cancel, and asked if I would be charged as obv I didn't want to give bank details outside their website.
The lady on the phone reassured me there wouldn't be any charges and I would be refunded (paid in total). I have been refunded everything apart from the 1st night- which the property didn't t wanted to repay me, although I have multiple emails and proof that I can get all my money back. Since then, with a lot of back and forth and still missing my £150.
I have been told so many times that there will pay me- first within 4-5 days- then 12-15, then again after another complaint in 24h... this is unacceptable. I feel terrible for the staff working there as I am aware it is not them. But the company's awful system. I will make sure I will leave bad reviews, contact Consumer righter/ citizen advice, and do everything I can to get my money back, as this is an absolute joke! Never using them again either!
Booked a hotel stay ended up moving out of state and having to change the dates the hotel confirmed booking.com request and my request for date change. They booking.com states that they never confirmed on their end and I almost ended up losing 400 dollar. Thank god for the hotel stepping in and honoring our resheduled dates otherwise I would have been SOL
I booked a two night stay at embassy suites. Paid 743.00 confirmed it with the manager there in San Antonio and the board walk. Two months later here in San Antonio and my last day I noticed embassy suites charging my card again for that amount. Front desk lady said they have been trying to collect from booking. Com but they haven't been able to collect. So they are charging my card. Scam with both companies in my eyes. Sneaky way to collect. Not write. I tried to dispute it with PayPal and they can't do anything either. This Sucks! No customer service at either company. I hope this helps you and not the companies.
I would rather this company charge me fees to book on their site rather than tell me there are no fees and offer ABSOLUTELY no technical support to its so called "partners". Do NOT expect a user friendly app...do NOT expect easily accessible messages; in fact, you will be forced to use a dinosaur to communicate called the EXTRANET. Do NOT be fooled and list your property on here; they will invoice YOU for their lack of support.
DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM FOR YOUR TRAVEL! I just had the most horrific experience with this company and ended up costing me another $1,500 to switch flights myself. Their customer service could not be worse.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
