The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

When I went to pay first my booking there was no place to enter my AARP number for my senior discount. When I checked in the property could not do anything about the discount because it was a third party booking. Wow! And come to find out they DON'T Honor AARP! They don't support seniors! I don't think I will book thru them anymore. Sorry! Not sorry!
I was really disappointed with booking.com. Thought this site would be helpful. Staff are unprofessional. Its like they have a script on what to say. Everytime we call regarding the flight that we booked, told us to call the airlines and we can sort it for ourselves? Called airlines told us its not our responsibility its the travel agent its self can do it. Unethical, useless same reasons but no solution nothing. Asked if we can speak to the manager, kept us on hold for long in the end manager was busy, can call us back but until now nothing. Nearly a month waited for them to sort out the flight for my grandma they promise us every staff same reason, different story. Its 3 days away from her flight but still no new iterinary and told us to wait 2 more days like wtf? Seriously?!? If she will miss her flight you guys are liable?! Then if the day comes told us we can just ask for a refund?! What? So now she has to miss her flight then she will be illegal migrant so you guys dont $#*!in' care you guys are not doing ur job properly! No communications between airlines and TA! Just HOAX! Deceit!worst experience no star at all. NEHA?poorva?useless
It's been months since I was told by booking.com customer service I'd be getting a refund for a room I booked but was cancelled by the hotel... now booking.com customer service has stopped responding! This company is beyond fraudulent
On one of the hotel listings, it said that there was no minimum age requirement to check in. When I went to the hotel, they said that it Hass to be 21 years or older to check in. I am only 19 and they did not allow me to check in.
I never leave negative reviews, but Booking.com was literally no help to us when we were in Italy. A member in our party became sick, and we were trying to leave earlier. I inquired about cancelling rooms and found out the rooms were not refundable, so I asked to keep the rooms since I was paying for them anyway. They agreed, and said they would keep our rooms. We were unable to get out earlier, and needed the rooms, which the hotel, and booking.com, gave away. Ridiculous!
Family emergency came up a week ahead of our scheduled booking. Called the Help line to see what we could do. The person on the Help desk was anything but helpful I was told nothing could be done to change the booking? But he could book me another flight… Ya right! We scrambled and got the soonest flight out of Edmonton to Toronto to be with my mom.
Now we are in Ontario on a one way flight thinking booking.com could help us at least get back to Alberta… Big Surprise another call to them and another "we can't help you"
Sorry but now having a second flight booking go down the tubes (1st was from COVID) it is sad but the airline industry has taken almost $1500.00 from us and we never even got a chance to get on those flights…
UPDATE: Just received another Robo email for me to call the International Help Line? The Number given does Not work from CANADA?
*******871 I even tried *******871 Cannot be completed just the same as their so called Customer Service… in the meantime the flight is booked to leave Calgary this coming Saturday!
They scammed us of our money! The site changed the date last minute and said they cant refund or change the date and then the hotel couldn't either. Complete scam.
Booked a holiday and the hotel went bust. We lost our money. Booked an appartment and nothing like the photos. Very disappointed. Even wit the car hire, we got a car of inferior quality. Don't trust this site. I would advise booking direct with a reputable tour operator.
My mother-in-law booked tickets through booking.com to join us in Thailand for a well deserved break during April. Unfortunately, this holiday wasn't meant to happen, as my father-in-law was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Upon speaking to her, they mentioned in the cancellation terms and conditions that she would be charged around R2000 per person cancellation fees. As this is a medical case, we have asked for a waiver on the cancellation fees, as airlines would usually allow something like this in special cases.
She sent them the report from the doctor stating that my father-in-law is unfit to travel and they confirmed receipt of this. However, after providing order numbers and vendor locators to go to a website called https://flights-za.gotogate.com/rf/order-login, we were not able to log in to amend anything. We have emailed them and they sent us something else, that still didn't work.
A few weeks later, upon my father-in-law's passing, we emailed them again, and suddenly the refund was processed. However, below and behold, the refund cancellation fees were a staggering R18 000. Which is completely unreasonable and ludicrous considering what was agreed upon in the first place.
I would like someone to contact me at *******@yahoo.com to deal with this situation. My mother-in-law has been a loyal booking.com client for years, myself too, but these cancellation fees are outrageous.
Please see the booking details: Order 40-*******.
I have attached the following screenshots: the one where the cancellation fees were stipulated, the emails where we informed them that we couldn't access the bookings and the refund that was processed. Please note, my in-laws never purchased any extras that were mentioned in the email.
Please get into contact and send me a breakdown of fees, as we need to find a way to find a reasonable, fair solution that will be feasible for both parties.
Thanks.
We have booked with them and had a very very bad experience
They book a room and cancel it and put you into another room for a fee
There are cameras installed in the rooms which they never tell you about
Do not use them!
Had a horrible experience at Saddleback Inn in Rangeley Maine which was booked through Priceline aka booking.com and they were absolutely no help
I've been using Booking.com as a host for some time, but a recent incident has seriously shaken my trust in the platform.
I had guests book my property through Booking.com who failed to provide adequate identity verification. When I raised my concerns to the local authorities, it was discovered that these individuals were thieves. This was a highly distressing experience and has raised significant concerns about Booking.com's verification process.
Despite my report to Booking.com about the incident, it appears that no action has been taken to limit or remove these individuals from the platform. I am yet to receive the payment owed for the reservation and the support from Booking.com has been extremely disappointing.
As a host, I rely on Booking.com to provide a secure platform where I can rent my property safely. This incident has damaged that trust. It's crucial that Booking.com acts swiftly to address this serious issue, ensuring such incidents don't occur again in the future.
I am urging Booking.com to look into this matter as a matter of urgency. The platform must have rigorous verification procedures to protect hosts and customers alike, and swift action should be taken when such severe incidents occur.
First of all I want to clarify that I have been a Booking customer for years, I have always used it for my travels and see that when the customer needs you you don't help him! I called Booking.com because I needed help with a reservation, my flight was delayed and they didn't accept check in after midnight so in order not to sleep outside I tried to contact the property several times to see if I could to check in or not, without having any answer, I then called Booking's customer service and the lady assured that she would do her best to find a solution but this was not the case! After spending more money to find another room you send me an email to tell me that I will no longer be refunded! It's a joke! I trusted Booking.com and you greatly disappointed me! I work hard for my money and expect others to do it too, instead of getting paid for an empty room
Because of the "environmental fee" that Hotel Aeropuerta in Cabo tried to charge me after I booked my reservation but before checking in, I chose not to stay at that hotel despite it being no -refundable. Because Booking.com condoned this occurrence and would not refund, comp, or work with me at all about it I will never use Booking.com again. I will not be swindled or scammed.
I had a reservation to a hote in yonkers in New York, the hotel give my room to the refugees an cancel my reservation without any notice.
I got to New York at 1 o'clock in the morning and I have no place to stay. Tried contact booking and nobody answered.
I rented an apartment through this website, which was supposed to be nice and cozy, but it wasn't, it smelled dirty, my wife got sick because of staying in this apartment. BOOKING COM DISAPPEARED ME, they wrote to me that the only thing I can do is to leave negative opinions on this apartment so that the owner of this apartment can improve
HORRIBLE customer service. They gave me the run around for 6 months, even my bank said they were giving me the run around. Then, they closed my complaint so they got away with taking $500+ from me, for now. I'm working on legal action now. DO NOT US BOOKING.COM.
I paid 461$ a night for a superior room at the Carnegie Hotel for a superior room, instead I got a standard room facing a brick wall for which the hotel charged 306$ a night! I will never use them again, to be avoided at all cost this is the third time I have a dreadful experience with them, you should call the hotel direct! Stay well clear
We booked a vacation through booking.com to Gettysburg Virginia June2-5. We couldn't go due to my husband becoming ill.
We tried to cancel, but was told that we couldn't with out the confirmation number and PIN. We thought we had lost it somehow.
Well, guess what my husband just received in his email on June 7. Booking.com just sent us our confirmation email.
Too late for us. Lost all the money. I will never book a vacation on one of these sights again
Hello! We have been long time clients with booking.com and used their platform in the past for our travel booking. We trusted the platform to be genuine, transparent and belief that they value customer relations.
However recent incident came as a shock to us. We had booked property in USA initially for 4 nights, then we changed to 3 nights. The changes were made, and confirmation email was send to us stating the revised price.
When we checked in the property manager, informed that price is higher than quoted for the stay. The property manager mention that booking.com was informed about the price and they need to inform the client. Unfortunately, we were not informed of the price hike.
The joke is when I called booking.com, one of their agent Ms. Riya spoke to me and told me that they will find another property. Seriously we had 15 hours of flight and 3 hours by car to reach my destination My whole family with me, at that state really do anyone want to relocate?
Because of error or miscommunication by booking.com they decide where we will stay. Anyways then we spoke to another agent Mr Jayvee and he assured that booking.com will compensate, we should go ahead with the stay.
I send bookimg.com the email with all details along with bank statement. As excepted from very unprofessional company they replied that property owner has declined our request. Then called again and one of their agent Ms Siena (hope I got the spelling correct), was extremely rude and said that since we refuse to change the property they can't do anything about it…
Really is this our fault to trust booking.com? Is this our fault that we did not agree to change the property and let them decide where we will stay?
The is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Any business word to mouth is the best marketing but sadly lost one old client.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
