The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Paid for booking, and was cancelled immediately, and booking.com refused to reimburse the charge, I have called about 10 times, each time they tell me something different and the customer service doesn't seem to understand what's going on, still have not been refunded. Never book through this company.
Booked a hotel room, received confirmation, got to hotel and had no reservation. Had to pay for a room, was double charged by booking.com. Tried to call customer service and got no answer and no reply to my message. We are now working with out credit card company. Stay away from this site.
Very bad experience with this service, no way they were rejecting my calls and they did not provide me any support and above at this poor customer service cost me more than 400 $ lost
I ll never recommend this site to any one
Be careful when you are dealing with this service
They've canceled my reservation because they couldn't charge my debit card but they were able to apply new fees to my debit card. In the same day.
I've used them a few times but it's a shot in the dark every time. I should have learned the first time they screwed me over, but I didn't. Just recently booked a room. Selected the dates and boom, done. Super easy right? Wrong. When the confirmation email came through it was the wrong dates by a long shot. Tried to get a refund, nope. Had to dispute it with my card company.
Save yourself the time, don't use booking.com.
I requested a car from DAL (Dallas Love) and it showed that when I clicked submit. When I got my rental voucher, it was for DFW! I am not flying into DFW, how is that helpful!
THIS BOOKING.COM ARE SCAMMERS. THEY WILL LET YOU BOOKED A HOTEL EVEN IF IT IS NO LONGER OPEARATE.THEY WILL CONTINUE LURE YOU TO BOOK A ROOM AND THEN AFTER YOU PAY FOR IT THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO ANSWER THEIR LINE.
Never received a confirmation number. Returned an email promising a confirmation in 24 hours. After this. I sent 7 emails requesting a cancelation. Could not use the phone number for customer service because the required reservation number was supposed to be in the email that never arrived. Not sure how they are allowed to operate still. Totally illegitimate
Booked a preset tent through booking.com, 5 days props to the trip. The same day I found the actual site for the preset tents, which were almost $20 less per night for the same exact accommodation. I immediately reached out to booking.com who delayed response, until after my trip was over. Went back and forth with them for the entire trip, provided all information only for them to delay until my trip was over then claim that as the reason they would not honor their own policy.
Booking.com advertises "no cancellation fee", but there is a fee (fine print.). I booked a hotel through a third party that used booking.com; 30 minutes later we cancelled the reservation; the third party gave us a full refund, but because they used booking.com, there was a $191 still. Use anything else but Booking.com.
Booking.com overcharged me ~20% more for an in-advanced payment than what I should pay on the check-in date at the hotel front desk. And they didn't want to refund me the difference. Never ever use booking.com!
I booked 3 individual rooms for a upcoming event and 2 days before the event they changed the booking to a family room
Do not trust Booking.com. I booked what I thought was a hotel and when my husband and I got there, it was a house filled with dogs. Had a dog smells, rude house manager, shared bathroom. We did not stay there. When attempting to talk with Booking.com will not give me an answer and has me on hold without telling I was going to be placed on hold. Please book somewhere else. Use another internet tool to book but booking.com is rude and inconsiderate of people's time and money.
My husband passed away two weeks before our trip to Virginia Beach.
We were only married for 8 months. I was devastated and wanted to cancel there was no option to do that! Do not book through this company they are awful. So sorry to learn the hard way. Will never use them again!
Booking.com customarily steals from their customers. After they ripped me off completely, I sent several disputes and I think they just threw them away. I also spoke with 2 people, but it turns out that it was a 3rd party. It's literally impossible to speak with a person. Since this happened to me, I have spoken with 10 people at least that had the same experience as I did. COMPLETE THIEVERY!
I had booked a room in February of 2023 and had to cancel and was entitled to a refund. They refused to hep me get it because the card I used was lost and had to get a new one. I did everything they told me to do only to be told that they have no clue on how to get me my money back. Had to end up contacting an attorney.
This website is a COMPLETE SCAM. I rather use Klook, Agoda or Trip.com. At least they are honest. They created this LOOPHOLE to scam people money. Here is why:
My wife and I were in Japan and we were trying to book a taxi from the hotel to the Narita Airport. We needed to leave the hotel by 5am on the 11th of June and we made a booking for a taxi ride via Booking.com. On Booking.com there is a clause that says "You can cancel or ammend your booking for free UP TO 24 hours BEFORE your scheduled pick up time."
We booked the taxi on the 10th of June at night 11pm and immediately cancelled. So in no way Booking.com had to activate any driver, pay any driver of any sort. We cancelled because the hotel front desk already booked a taxi for us and we ended up having a double booking.
Guess what?
Booking.com refused to issue a refund, sticking to their lame policy stating because our cancellation is WITHIN 24 hours of our booking, refunds will not be issued. Now THAT is lame. We literally cancelled within minutes of booking. So this is like a loophole: if you made booking way in advance, then yeah you can get a free cancellation. If you made a booking within 24 hours, then God help you if you want to cancel.
IF free cancellation is NOT applicable if I booked for a taxi WITHIN 24 hours, why do you want to still repeat that cancellation clause to me? You may as well just warn us that free cancellation is NOT applicable!
This is a very bad experience and a big black mark on the holiday we had! I will never trust this service ever again for their dishonesty!
DO NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE!
They promised me a full refund if I cancelled a reservation and made a new one through them. I did that and the second one was much more expensive than the one I cancelled. Then they only gave me half of the refund for the first one. Just book directly, NEVER through Booking.com. It will be cheaper in the end.
This is bait and switch at it finest! DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM FOR ANY TRAVEL NEEDS. IT IS A BOGUS SITE. THEY CO SIGN FRAUDULENT PRACTICES AND NEVER RESPOND TO ANY PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS. Global Luxury Suites in Miami is a known fradulent company that promises a room with an ocean view. When you arrive and find out that you have to lean off of a balcony and you can see a corner of the beach, it qualifies as an "ocean view" FRAUD! Use any one but booking.com! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I booked a room for 2 and paid in advance. The booking confirmation said all taxes and fees included in the price. At checkin hotel charged me $88 in taxes. Wen I first called Booking.com customer service, he said it was a mistake and asked me to send the invoice which I did. They wanted me to get a new invoice with specific mention that I paid the taxes with my credit card which I did. The hotel was really helpful. Now I got an email asking me to call a UK number to resolve the issue. Given the waiting time, and I booked and paid for a room in US, why would I make an international call? I asked them to call me and now they tell me I have to call the hotel and ask them to refund me the money. This is taking way too much time and effort when I checked at the time of booking if there were additional charges!
I would not recommend anyone to use this site, for sure.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
