The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

An error was made somehow on a non-refundable booking. The hotels pay booking to advertise on their platform for a % of reservation fee. If you call the hotel and the manager is ok with, they refund the money back to booking, then booking sends it back to your checking account. However booking must open a refund request to hotel on your account. Issue 1. Booking buries the customer support contact number by design which makes it so difficult to contact them. My refund was issued to booking.com on 7/21/23. Today is 8/823 and 'I' had to call them to ask why hadn't my refund been returned to my account. Basically the refund system is designed to make the person give up trying. Don't trust them with a booking there are plenty of other good platforms. Always get your best rate dealing directly with hotel especially if your an honor or rewards member of the hotel. *** Stay away from booking.com. They are based in Netherlands and guess they feel they can get away with horrible support.
Booking.com will not refund money even if they act like they are working with hotel to do so. They said on two different occasion they were send an email to the hotel, but surprise surprise, the email never showed up. They don't have a problem lying to you. I will NEVER use BOOKING.COM again. I hate even giving a one rating, they don't deserve that.
Booking.com is not a good partner, a guest stay in my guesthouse and heavyly smoke in my room, any hotel will charge a cleaning fees unfortunately booking incharge of payment wont be able to do so. I reported this problem to booking.com and requested to remove the malicious review, very dissappointed that booking.com wont help and protect their partner for working together for 10 years. Airbnb is a better company to work with they protect the host. I call up booking.com they told me to contact the guest to remove it. Hahaha what a joke!
I made a reservation for 2 nights at a motel in Washington state. My spouse objected to staying in that town. I canceled the day i made the reservation both with the actual motel and online with booking, com. I was charged $200, for a room in a town I've never been to, canceled the reservation. I WILL NEVER USE BOOKING.COM AGAIN. PISSED AS HELL.
I had to travel with my wife my 5 yo son and my mother in low for medical reasons (operation) to UK. I booked a one bedroom apnt for 4 days and after 7 hours travelling tired and hungry, i got there at 10:30 pm and i was told by the owner that he didn't had 1 bed apnt and i had to stay in a filthy studio with one bed! I contacted booking.com and i left the filthy studio. Booking.com told me i had right and that i would get a full refund ended up with 58 euros. I WILL NOT PUT MY FAMILY MEMBER'S LIFE IN DANGER EVER AGAIN WITH Booking.com
Booked a hotel for $138.27, we thought was near the Atlanta airport. We caught a shuttle to the sister hotel and got a room. When tried to cancel the further hotel booked by booking.com, they charged us $ 133.00 to cancel! What a rip off. Mind you, this was while waiting in the line ( over 2 hours) to exit Delta airlines. Also flying back from France on a very long(approximately 10 hours). Will never be that desperate to use Booking.com again!
I want to start off by saying the reviews might not be so terrible if you actually got a response from the property when you contact them. I dunno why I'd expect that it's been 14 days give or take a day and no response at all. I booked through booking.com for July 21,2023 until Sunday before leaving on our cruise. The outside wasn't appealing to the eye but at least they were making an effort to make it better. However when I got to my room which was a good size I went straight to the kitchen to put supplies away and was greated by four or five german roaches on the kitchen counter. Imagine my disgust, I went straight to the desk and the young man there said nothing could be done until maintenance got there the next day. So unfortunately after paying 715.00 for two days searching for another hotel was out of the question. So I told my kids to keep their suitcases closed and I'd go down in the morning. Well morning came and no maintenance, so around noon I went to the desk to the young lady and again voiced my concerns. Now we got in late that night so I didn't even see some of the other things lacking in our room, other issues. Like the broken handle in the masters bathroom to the shower. Or no blinds in the master bedroom, just shear curtains. I could pick many things a part but I don't live for perfection. Also the ac was on the Fritz. But BUGS NO! I went to the desk several times for my room 501. No one in my room saw maintenance come or go. However I did go to my room at one point and my door was wide open. So if they did come they left the door open with all of our things exposed. I'd like to tell you this is the worst of it. But those little pest hitched a ride home. So now I have to take care of that cost. It would have been nice when I reached out to them if they made an effort to resolve the problem or at the very least apologize but nope they did not. The only positive I have is for the bartenders. After to warming up to them they made me feel a bit better. But if there are roaches in one room there are roaches in others and they apparently do not care because they didn't even try to move us. Please don't comment back with some generic response from the owner of the hotel. In all the bad reviews I saw apologies never anything to make it right or something to try to fix it. A discount to customers who you might want to come back not just an "I'm sorry" which I suppose is better then nothing. The funny thing is I ran a hotel at one point in my career so I know that complaints can be tough, but making no effort for your guest is not going to help your business and to me is unacceptable. I also know it was the hotel's responsibility to to make an effort legally when it comes to pest control. But that's not what it's about for me and I made an effort to keep this to myself in hopes they'd reach out to me.
Booking never even cared to respond to the hotel they advertised for.
I booked a flight with booking.com, later on i had to cancelled it due to my mother's death. Its more than a month now i m fighting with them for my refund money which is 1157 euros, i did not recieve any thing but they are insisting that they have send my money, their custmor service is very bad, lady on fone was very rude.i checked with my bank also, there is no refund money. Today i called them again and they said from our side this query is closed because we have refund already and now there is no use of calling us again n again, but I DID NOT RECIEVED ANY THING. I will never book with booking.com in my life again.
I made bookings via the Bookings.com app. The messaging platform in the app was hacked and a phishing attack was sent to me. My account was then debited for £3000. It's been 2 months and after many calls and emails to bookings.com. I have no feedback. I get the standard response, they are investigating. No feedback, No communication
Bad organized, they don't care about their customers.
If there is something happening and you even have proof if the property or room that more things are not going on well, they don't take it in consideration.
Even thought you as an idiot have to pay sometimes up front for non-refundable bookings. You can say bye-bye to the money, no matter how much proof you have or how many things went bad with your stay! Even when important things are not okay like the location of the property or rats, they don't care and anybody can book it again and again. Really, really bad….
I surely recommend Airbnb (very good customer service!), Trivago, Kayak or Expedia.
We booked air tickets from Booking.Com to Chicago to Paris to Delhi, India; 5 months in advance. The tickets keep on changing from time to time without prior notice. On one time, they changed a ticket that departure of air from Delhi to Chicago was before the arrival of air from Bangalore to Delhi. Callings and callings make pains, anxiety, emotional damage etc etc. please be careful with this website. They don't care you. Just only money for them. Please see thousands of reviews about them on other consumer webs.
Booking as platform is not offering any protection in case of scam. They will just contact scammer and ask politely for refund. Any other platform with money transactions has customer protection. Additionally, customer support is not educated to help customers with any non-trivial issues, if it is not in textbook you are doomed.
I had a pleasant experience with book. I will continue to use it, but be AWARE they have terrible customer service that purposely disconnects from you. If you use the site make sure you review your bookings before confirming, because you're on you're own.
I've never had such a poor booking experience through the competitors. The listing said it had 3 BRs and 6 beds. I was leasing the entire house. The day before I discovered I had been given only 2 BRs, was sharing the communal spaces. 1st I was told the company would pay the difference for a place that could accommodate me. But then they would pay only $27 more. After I made reservations four months in advance, I was not going to be able to touch something in the same area for anywhere near what I had been promised. Customer service was extremely difficult to contact and not at all helpful. If anything they lied to me throughout the process. They pulled a bait n switch. Don't use this service.
Booking.com is a great place to book a hotel if you want to pay 22% more than you need to. What they do is when you google the Hotel you want to stay at the Picture of the Hotel pops up and while you think you are clicking on the actual Hotel website you are clicking on Booking.com's. So after you select and pay for your room THEN the total price populates and you realized you just paid these BOZOs for nothing. When you think about it it is a brilliant business idea. They are sipping on Margarita's on the Beach in Brazil by taking 22% of each Book...for nothing...
I booked a 1 deluxe queen suite only to finding out that I am actually ending up with a 1 deluxe queen room.
This was my first and ladt time using them.
Next again OMG
I should have known better.
My wife and I first used Booking.com for our recent stay at Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia. We picked a nice hotel based on description, pictures, etc. as well as location and proximity to the lake.
We chose a room at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort for a total of $760 Canadian for three nights. We were OK paying this amount of approximately 250 a night as it seemed to meet our needs. When we got to the hotel, we were first told that there was added fees, which were not readily apparent when we booked. This included 16% sales tax and a $25 a night resort fee. This totalled up to $960. I don't like these kinds of ambush tactics. Upon further review of my booking, those fees were included at the bottom of the invoice. It is of course on the customer to take the time to review all pertinent information, but separating hidden charges from the readily visible total is greasy.
The room we were given was from a 70's vintage, had no air conditioning and hard mattresses. The wifi is as slow as a banker agreeing to a cash loan and the pay per view movies were $25.99 per movie plus tax.
Booking.com did not make our choice essier, it made it regretful…
The hotel has nearly a 300. Dollar hold on my card due to the fact of booking. Com virtual card didn't work at the hotel for a pre paid room. Room was not worth the money. Says there is breakfast and there's not over priced room and in pretty poor condition for a staybridge hotel which is part of holiday inn. All I can say is I'll never stay at this dump again. I will stay at silver cloud when in crappy Seattle with the big homeless junkie encampment. Don't ever stay at staybridge.
I will never ever use this company again. I've gotten told three different stories it was a he said she said situation they have no integrity their principles are down the drain. I could go on and on about this company as you can see that's why they got a 1.4 rating
I booked a room for through booking had an issue reached out to them and the hotel. Booking said no response from the hotel but yet booking is the third partying booking for this hotel. They telling me it's nothing they can do I have to contact the hotel if y'all can't get in contact with them how can I. I sent over all the information booking asked I will never book with booking again. I will get my money back trying to be nice about the situation taking proper causes. Went for my son birthday and we all was bite up we seen a termite and killed it.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
