The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Not only did they false advertise about the disgusting b&b I stayed in which they misled me they offered me 18euros compensation into my bank now they are changing their mind saying I will get a wallet when I would never ever use this site again! Sometimes it's better to pay extra with trusted tour operators and travel agents rather than be scammed by companies like this! Where I stayed had no air conditioning it was filthy and it was smoking completely different from what they advertised "FALSE DAVEY FALSE ADVERTISING MISLEADING ADVERTISING! THERE WAS NO HEALTH AND HYGIENE BUT THIER WAS CROSS CONTAMINATION OF HUMAN FOOD AND DOG FOOD THERE WAS NO COVID RESTRICTION THEIR WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE DUMP THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! And now booking.com don't want to give me the cheap compensation they have offered me after misleading and scamming me!
Booked a Hampton Inn in Reno for 1 night. Almost $300. Had to cancel 48hrs IN ADVANCE as my daughter's SAT was canceled. No communication from either site or hotel despite multiple attempts to reach out. Finally waited for 45' on their chatbot to ‘talk to an agent'—they plainly said that unless you cancel within 72hrs, all your money is lost. Wow—will NEVER use them again or stay at a Hampton Inn. Poor customer service, especially given the ongoing situation with Covid.
I'd don't believe they deserve even a 1 Star but you are forced to hit at least a Star rating. Do your own homework before you trust a site. Google is free so no more reasons for STUPIDITY...
L Booked at Lake house in Wemberly TX 2 weeks in advance and that same day we are leaving Booking.com said the owner of the Property canceled the Booking. When I was at my destination the owner called me and said she never canceled! This is not the first time Booking.com has done this! Im now going with Expedia.com
I booked a room through booking and when I went to the hotel they said they had no rooms and there was nothing they could do. I spent weeks trying to get ahold of booking but never got through until I tweeted them on Twitter, then they contacted the property and told me that they( the hotel) said they knew nothing about me staying (which I didn't any way) and that the people were rude to them (booking). Now I'm out 167 bucks and had to spend an extra 95 to get a cheap motel for the night.
Bunch of unfair s... I am praying for God to send them out of Business. God shut it down. Canceled my reservation and call it a no show. Plus charge my card. Y'all ate devils
I pre-paid my hotel through booking.com. After 12 hours of driving, when I got to the hotel they did not have my reservation listed. With 3 percent of battery left on my phone, and with two tired, hungry kids in the car, I called booking.com. After giving my reservation number, pin code and explaining my situation, customer support hung up on me FOUR times. Only on the fifth phone call, do I get a resolution.
We were told by Booking.com that the hotel allowed pets. The hotel then told us no pets were allowed after we had booked. When we went back to Bookings.com to cancel, Juan told us that getting a refund would be no problem.
The hotel (John at Westmount River Inn) refuses to give us a refund and Booking.com also refuses to give us a refund.
Booking.com stole 180.00 from us and we have no recourse.
Booking.com is a thief and criminal entity, please stay clear of them.
Do not use this platform to book anything.
So disgusted with this service. Second time I booked thru them. Both times I could not cancel my reservations and was charged. Even thou on the website it states Free Cancellation... No Customer Service to speak with. Limit buttons on their visual asst. And of course No Cancel button... Never Recommend. Needs to be reported to Better Business Beaure and Attorney General...
My girlfriend and I booked a romantic getaway in a cosy country cabin. On arrival, the owner informed that booking.com had overbooked our cabin, showing proof, and explaining that she had no additional availability. We spent 2hrs in the car park on the phone with an advisor (mostly on hold) who wasnt able to get his supervisor on the phone. He provided a refund (without our agreement) and wanted an additional payment to book a studio flat in Kent as an alternative. As I explained this was not suitable as an alternative paid accommodation, he offered a 1 bedroom flat 60 miles away. We spent an additional 2hrs in the small town on/off the phone with other advisors trying to speak with a supervisor, and get somewhere to stay. The supervisor finally got on the phone at 8pm, being very pedantic and blaming the cabin owner, although our payment was sent to them as the agent. She refused to provide emergency stay without us paying again, even though I explained I didn't have an additional £360 in the bank. Having no additional funds available as the refund takes 14days, we will be sleeping in the car and driving home tomorrow. Tired, destressed and anxious about our safety. Will never use booking.com again.
Booked a reservation for a motel with them. They even sent a confirmation number. When we got to the Motel they didn't have a reservation for us. They called Booking.com while we were there in the lobby. Booking offered to put us up in a Motel we knew nothing about in a different town. After looking at the terrible reviews for it we declined and found our own accommodations. The next day we were charged for the motel they never made reservation for us at. 10 call and two months later, each call lasting about a half hour and each call reassuring us that after "their 30 day waiting period policy" we would be refunded, nothing. I don't have high hopes I will ever see a refund. Refunded for a charge for a reservation that they never made which they charged after they were notified that they hadn't made the reservations with the motel? Do not ever use their service.
I had booked a stay in Panama City, FL 5 months in advance and paid in full. 20 days before my stay I began getting emails that said "card declined". I called booking.com and they informed me that my booking was still good to go. A couple of days later I got an email that said I canceled my trip. I called booking.com again and they informed me that my dates had been double booked and they were going to have to find me another place to stay. Needless to say I was very upset but never lost my cool the entire experience with booking.com. My original accommodations of beach front 2 bedroom 2 bath was met with an offer of a 1 room hotel with 2 beds. They said they would give me money back if I found one similar and it cost more. I ended up paying $1200 more and it has been 2 months and they will not refund me or respond to me. Worst experience ever.
I had a terrible experience using Booking.com. We choose the hotel based on the Booking.com reviews. The room was awful! Dirty, dusty and had a very strong musty smell. The bedding was dirty and the bathroom had not been cleaned. We left after staying for 1 hour and had to pay for a 2 night stay. I contacted Booking.com and shared my experience. They did not care. So I went on their sight and tried to write a review of the hotel so it would not happen to someone else, and after putting all the information they asked for, I was told that I was not invited to write a review, now I understand why the hotel had a good rating, they do not allow for bad reviews. I will never use Booking.com again.
If you decide to book, choose to pay on arrival not with virtual credit card or any prepayment bull$#*!.
I used Booking.com and it was a HORRIBLE experience. We booked an All-Inclusive stay at The Betsy Hotel in South Beach weeks before we were to arrive. Since it was a 10-hour drive, we went down early to be there rested when our vacation started. On Sunday evening, less than 24 hours before we were supposed to check in I received an email saying that the reservations were not All-Inclusive as it said on our reservations and if they didn't hear back from us in 30 minutes the reservation would be cancelled. In that we had booked All Inclusive and were not getting what we were supposed to get we decided to go home. The next morning our way home as a precaution I called The Betsy Hotel and was told they had no record of our reservations. I called Booking.com customer service and they told me the reservations were not cancellable. I explained they had sent me the email cancelling my reservations and why. He finally said okay but I would have to pay a cancellation fee. I explained very slowly that they had sent me an email to me explaining that the reservations were not All Inclusive as was plainly said in the reservations and they emailed me they were cancelling my reservations and he said okay and hung up on me. That was four days ago and I have not gotten a credit on my card so I am disputing the charge. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
Booked two rooms with two beds each for one night in San Juan. When i got to the hotel, they said booking.com sent them a request for two rooms with one bed each. Thats two missing beds! A 12 year old can book better than this website. Never going to use booking.com ever again!
We booked at the Goodlife in Barbados but due to the present state of the pandemic had to cancel. We were very impressed that our refunds were returned without any long waiting period and red tapes. Thanks you Goodlife for your courtesy and professionalism. Burgett.
Have tried to log one or two fair but ad verse. Reviews about bad hotels. However B, C then don't carry them!
We used their taxi.booking.com to arrange transportation from the Cozumel airport to our resort so that we would not have to worry about anything when we arrived. We never saw our driver and ended up using service that was on the curb. We pre-paid $85 but the service on the curb was only $25. They refused to give us the difference back. I called "customer service" so many times - even was hung up on! Horrible service. One customer lost and would never recommend their rip off to anyone else.
I started using booking.com about 2 years ago. So I'm no new customer to them. booking.com got me a reservation with at motel but this Motel had policies they will not rent a room to people that live within 60 miles of their Motel me not knowing this cuz I'm going through booking.com I assume this is what they do so they would know the rules their policies they said they booked me a room at this motel in the motel calls me and cancels the reservation because I live within 60 miles of their facility so I go through booking.com and get another room or at another facility another motel the next morning I get alerted on my bank account that both motels have build me I called call the motel and they're not about to reimburse me I get a hold of booking.com and they don't think it's their fault that's why I go through booking.com for little things like this to look out for me. Booking.com has not tried to make it right it all they just sent me an email saying pretty much that I'm beat so I don't get it why even be in business you're not going to take care of your customers all I'm saying is I do not recommend booking.com there's a whole bunch of other travel agents out there booking.com is not a very good one I'm a very unhappy customer just after two years of loyalty they moved me to genius status and then this not as much as open apology have a great day
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
