Do NOT give these people your credit card information. I canceled this over 60 days ago and they STILL keep charging my card. I have to file a fraud complaint with the state attorney general on Monday - nothing else seems to get these people to stop charging me
Just received my first birchbox and I definitely wouldn't pay £12.95 again, cancelling right away! Really not worth it. I mean I didn't expect full sizes even, but these samples really are poor and are found in magazines. Also all the possible items you can get displayed on their website for the September box, I got two of them only and the rest aren't even featured in their September pictures! Oh and this is a minor issue but the box really stinks!
When you call customer service the recoding tells you to go online and set up and appointment for a phone call. E mails are not returned
I noticed that my debit card had been fraudulently used to make online purchases online across the US. Luckily I discovered it the day it happened and was able to contact 2 of the 3 merchants and get the false orders cancelled and my money refunded to me at 2 of the 3 merchants. However, the third one, made with Birchbox I am still waiting to even talk to someone! I was only able to send an e-mail in which they sent back an auto reply stating i would hear back with them in 48 hours. Even after the 48 hours, I did finally receive an email back, no phone call, very basic and telling me to contact my bank. It's not my banks fault that Birchbox's customer service is so lacking that I'm sure in the meantime, this over $100 purchase order was sent out to the fraudster! Never used their products, never will, and good luck to anyone who has a problem and needs to deal with customer service. Apparently they don't Tammy matter very seriously. Good luck.
No this is not about their friendliness but just how freaking impossible it is to even get ahold of them! They don't have an actual phone number to call you have to schedule a call back or send an email and wait for them to get back to you. And if you're trying to get your problem sorted out fast you're out of luck because they'll never call you back at the time you picked for a call back. It's absolutely ridiculous. After I get my order through I will never be using their services again. It's not been just one time but this has happened on 4 separate occasions. Every time I've tried to get ahold of them it's been because of THEIR site error. Wish they had an actual number to call. I never ever had this trouble with ipsy. So much more worth it. I only had been using birch box a month when I started have trouble with them while I was with ipsy for almost a year and never had a single problem. WORST WORST WORST!
The rep lumping hair filler is great. It does give volume to my limp hair. I like the volume boosting shampoo also and the conditioner which helps my limp, fine hair. Plan to purchase both.
Right away I'll tell you if you only email them once, and wait a few days, their customer service is stellar! But since they got rid of the points, so disappointed in how they handled it. By email with a 1 month warning and cut all points. I was an Ace member for a couple years and left because not only points, but the samples are so tiny it's not worth 10 bucks without points. They could've at least brought it down to half and it would have been ok. Because think if you ran this business, you would loose on so much money giving away that much and I understand but to do it so crap and unprofessional and take away ALL rewards? It's suicide to their business unless they give out at least 1 full suze. Look at the UK. Their birchbox's are amazing! They get at least 1 full size sometimes more. I canceled of course lol
I signed up for this as a gift for my son in law. When I first registered, I received notification that the box would be delivered on Monday 8/29. Today is 8/31 and now I'm receiving notifications that the box won't be delivered until sometime between now and September 7th! So far I'm not impressed. Wish I had read the reviews before I signed up, because I wouldn't have.
I would give them 4 stars if they hadn't discontinued the "points for reviews" part of their rewards program. There products are so overpriced that you need those reward points to make it worth buying products on there.
Yes, it's fun to get a box of samples in the mail every month, but I usually only like half the products so it's like paying $10 a month for 2 or 3 small sample products that I'll actually use. I have found some great products through them and I'm still a current customer but I may cancel soon if I don't start getting more samples that I really like.
It doesn't matter if you've been a loyal customer for 3+ years. They will still take away the ONLY worthwhile rewards/ points system. It used to be that once a month, you could write reviews for the samples you received, and you would get 10 points for every review. Why on earth would customers write reviews now when they will receive NOTHING? If anything, Birchbox should be making more money now, so it just shows they are getting greedy. Just like every start up who turns out well. Unfortunately for them, they will start losing their valued customers, and will get more and more BAD reviews. Never forget the customer. That's their first HUGE mistake.
I have been a subscriber going on the third renewable yearly subscription, even purchased a gifted year for my daughter. Wish I had not! In July they changed their best redeeming feature and the reason I stayed with them so long after getting mediocre, duplicated products. They discontinued their rewards program, which made it worthwhile to remain a subscriber.
I contacted them to discontinue service and get a refund on any boxes NOT yet received... Yet another terrible policy was learned... They do not refund EVEN for boxes not shipped yet!
Bad policies, Bad products, Bad customer service. Don't get taken by Birchbox. As for me, I guess I will get 11 more monthly boxes, all the while hating the products and service.
They said they would cancel my subscription, we shall see... if not I guess I will have to file a "fraudulent charge" case with my CC company. Do NOT sign up with this company.
I have been with Birchbox for about 3 years now and consistently receive my boxes in a timely manner. I enjoy trying new products monthly. They have a great verity of products for $10 a month. I have found their customer service to be very responsive and to take care of any issues any time I have had to contact them. I definitely recommend them.
I ordered the Birchbox and was surprised to see quality stuff there and brands I like, good size samples, which I, m interested in because it's hard for me to get out, and I like that you can get full size, So I try another, Well the, other bag was was a kids bag, cheap products and not all natural stuff,,,, cancelled it, and decide to give them another try, Have no problem cancellation, so nice very nice,,,, so guess Birchbox is the choice if you want quality stuff, and I like the online store, I love Toca, which I have been trying to find,, cool.
So, I have had a Birchbox subscription since March 2014 I've enjoyed the surprise of getting new products every month but a lot of times they cheap out on the box and put in foil packets and perfume samples as a part of the box each month. I have been willing to overlook this because they have an excellent points system that earns each subscriber $5 for reviewing all of the products in the box. As of July 11,2016 Birchbox amended this policy and now the only way to earn points in their shop is to but products or invites friends through a referral link. I'm incensed to find this out and am incredibly angry with myself that I have purchased a year subscription.
My July box just never came for me and while initially their customer service promised a replacement box when I emailed to inquire when said box might arrive they informed me that I would not be getting one but that my account would be credited (which to date it has not been).
Overall, I have been irrepressibly disappointed with the quality of products and customer service that I have received from Birchbox in 2016.
I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact Birchbox regarding a broken sample. I tried online chats--"21 people in line ahead of you". Then I tried an e-mail. I had tried unsuccessfully to cancel my subscription but the directions to do this led me to a dead-end. Finally I received a call from Nathaniel, a very pleasant, informative gentleman. He agreed to send a return label for another full size product that I didn't like. He also agreed to cancel my subscription. It shouldn't be this difficult! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING! Too bad. I really liked getting my monthly box, but it is not worth this frustration.
I should have learned 2 years ago when Birchbox was so difficult and did not allow me to cancel my subscription and continued to charge me. I bought a year for my daughter in May. Received 3 boxes and then they "upgraded" the site and have left customers hanging with no product, no way to log in, the customer service number is not in use. AVOID!
Thought I would try a buy 2 for 1 offer. Code didn't work and couldn't reach anyone. They said 3 working days. Unacceptable.
I ordered an amika curler from them and it was supposed to be delivered between July 27 and July 29. They sent me an email saying it had shipped with a tracking number but I'd check every day and it still hadn't gone anywhere. The tracking itself sucks and now it finally says on July 29th that the pre shipment info was sent to USPS. So annoyed at how long this take, not a professional business at all. I will never purchase from here again, I trust randoms on the internet more than this place.
I have waited over 10 business days for it to ship, it said it was supposed to be delivered to my home days ago (and it still hasn't arrived, it's been over a month total), and they didn't even give me a full refund. I don't like ANY of the products in the box and customer service wasn't helpful. This is embarrassing. We are all laughing, Birchbox.
Answer: I've bought a few. I've liked several more enough to buy a full size item but haven't gotten around to it yet because I have enough of a similar product on hand for now.
Answer: The issue I've had with them is that their customer service contact information was difficult to locate, so I get it. I had to contact them over Twitter to get it. The email form on the website doesn't do you much good. Try sending an email to [email protected] for a better response. If all else fails, and you can't seem to get them to stop charging you, contact your credit card company, and let them handle it for you.
Answer: I work at a credit union. What I would recommend in this instance is canceling the card and then disputing unwanted charges. There is no way for the institution to cancel the subscription for you. However, as I said, we can issue you a new card number and help you dispute the charges that you did not authorize.
Answer: You get one point per dollar when shopping in the Birchbox shop. Additionally, reviewing the items you received in your Birchbox earns 10 points per review, and sharing your box on social media also yields you 10 points.
