I want to pay homage and express my gratitude towards your staff/employee named Caleb. I was in your store on this past Friday, 4/27/2018. I came over to your store seeking beds for my grandchildren after not being able to purchase the mattresses needed at your Centerville store. Unlike your Centerville store, I was greeted immediately and waited on in a professional and timely manner. The thing that impressed me the most was the fact that there were others in the store potentially shopping for furniture, your employee (Caleb) was able to accommodate all parties in just the most admirable way.
I finally narrowed which bed I wanted though initially, I was halted between two opinions. Caleb provided the information that I needed in order for me to make the best purchasing decision for me. However, after he called the company to set up delivery and assembly, they stated that they could deliver the next day; however, they were unable to assemble until next week. Well, Caleb offered to come put the bed together himself on Monday or Tuesday at no additional cost to me the consumer.
I wanted to compensate him for his kindness and willingness to put the beds together, and he simply refused. You really dont find this level of courtesy and professionalism in customer service much anymore if ever.
It would be a shame for me to not at least take a moment to make mention of this experience because these type of retail experiences are so few and far apart.
So, in essence, I just wanted to make known the extent of my gratitude in hopes that you will also acknowledge this employee as one who is not only courteous, but also conducts business with an attitude of excellence.
Bought A $500 Gazebo in the spring and turned the people next door on to Big lots. We Both bought a Gazebo but never made it through the winter Lasted Aprox 7 months The Canopy was so Chintzy it dry rotted so bad and rain water collapsed the Gazebo. I looked over the fence and sure enough the neighbors was collapsed too. Calling big Lots is like a Foreign Country... never respond has no phone numbers and really don't care... Will have to take legal action and bad mouth them as much as a can... Food For Thought!
I have bought everything from underwear to furniture, food, technology, clothes, and more. I have never been unhappy with anything I bought here. And I have been able to find things here that I never saw before.
The places of this kind are my favorite. Buying on sale with discounts makes me feel happy - I never overpay for the things which do nost a lot indeed. Plus their Christmas offers made my December! Thanks!
DO NOT EVER BUY FURNITURE FROM HERE! I bought furniture out of the whim, apparently without a cerebral mind working on BLACK FRIDAY! WHAT A SCAM OF DOLLAR STORE FURNITURE... Look, I was very reluctant to get furniture from this store, however I needed to get rid of my couch ASAP, which took over my better judgement. I wanted something cheap, that looked okay, because of my child. So I went to the store and found a couch and loveseat. Of course you want to purchase and leave, especially on Black Friday Weekend! Well I had my Couch delivered today, however the wrappers were not only left on, the furniture ' was not even right side up" which could have been damaged without knowledge, " the WORST WAS, IT WAS NOT PUT TOGETHER. " ARE YOU KIDDING", Now I guess I Should have realized why I was told too many times not too ever get furniture from there. I have so many pictures which will be public so you do not make the the same irresponsible, carefree, feckless, and fly-by -night mind, when you really need something that ended up being unpredictable, unreliable and untrustworthy in the horrendous situation and horrible predicament I am now in. JUST THINK BEFORE YOU THINK IT WORKS, AND REALIZE THE OTHER OPTIONS I HAD IF I TOOK ONE OR TWO MORE DAYS TO RATIONALLY EVALUATE THE STATS RATIONALLY AND RESPONSIBLY...
Great quality of all items we`ve got on the site! The delivery is fast every time and all the returns I made were also processed very promptly and refunded or changed to another goods of the corresponding quality!
I live like not even a mile away from a Big Lots store and love it. It's a great place for me to pick up water for the house as well as light snacks. The prices are decent and sometimes clearance snacks are worth buying if you know you'll consume them before the printed expiration date. The staff always greets me when I walk in and small talk with the cashier, no matter who it is, is never awkward and always friendly!
Been shopping here over 35 years. Can not think of anything negative. Can not drive past one with out stopping. THE CLEARANCE areas ( especially the food) has made it possible to help feed a lot of neighbors who are on tight budgets and keep the kids fed. I am an off season shopper and the way things are marked down week by week after a holiday has passed are unreal.
We purchased over $1000 of various size bamboo blinds for our mom an pop cottages/motel needs. My online purchase was so easy. The delivery was very quick and free shipping. Purchased several other items for our business needs and was pleased with everything we received. Even the stickers came off easily an quickly from the tableware we purchase. Some very unique items I have found nowhere else. Very pleased with all my purchases.
I bought a recliner couch in Oct 2016 after 3 short months the recliner release on the left side snapped and we hardly use that side. I phoned Big lots they said they could exchange it I would just have to bring it in. I couldnt bring in the couch right away due to no truck or funds for uhaul. I brought it in in Jan 2017 after phoning two more times to make sure it was ok to still bring in the couch and to get it refunded back to the credit card I purchsed it with (big lots credit card) I was assured 3 times we could. 4 times if you count when we actually brought it in. In the process of the whole ordeal the employee returned the couch as "no receipt" I had my receipt and apparently gave me in store credit. I thought it was being credited back to the card so then we could purchase a different couch in which we did. She did not refund me back my tax money which she should have done. We ended up purchases a couch and recliner that were on sale and it was less than the money we paid for the original couch. So I am thinking we don't owe anymore on the credit card until they sent me a bill. I emailed them. They tell me to contact Big Lots. Big lots local manager wanted me to repurchase the items I got then the would refund me and apply it to the card. Which would be the same thing as me just paying off the $430 on the card which I dont believe I owe since I don't have the couch cuz it BROKE. I spoke to customer care she even said that was wrong and something didn't add up right so it was sent to a higher up deparment. I was told that I do owe the remaining balance because they could have only given me in store credit after 30 days. So now they are saying I pay the remaining 430 on the couch I no longer have and basically paying more money for the new furniture that isnt even valued as much! Dont ever buy anything from here!
Great Place To Shop The Manager David Hudson and employees are great workers and have the best customer service very respectful. From the cashiers down to the furniture workers, they all are always willing to stop what they are doing just to help assist their customers! Great place to shop! Keep up the good work you guys!
In case some of you don't know, a lot of Biglots items like housewares etc. is actually from HOBBEYLOBBY... Hobbeylobby has to make room for new items so they sell older items to Biglots and Biglots lowers the price to sell... same great quality at a much lower price. Shop Shop Shop!
I went to the big lot on 63rd and may Oklahoma City. And had the pleasure of being helped by the manger Theresa I wasn't sure what type of beding I needed but she helped me to decide, I also wanted a new bed and she helped me not only pick one but carried it to the truck.
I have never experienced the kind of customer service she provided, I wish she could be cloned for all the stores I visit. Thanks Theresa for the more then great experience.
I was at the Dalton, GA Big Lots on September 11th shopping for book shelves for my Mother's home and Ms. Jeanne Flener went out of her way to help my sister and me as we shopped. There were several shelving units on sale that day, and the one that we wanted was not marked. She not only tracked down the sale price, but lifted the bulky item into the cart for us and double checked with the cashier to be sure it rang up at the sale price, (it was buy one, get one half price). Her genuine kindness and attention to detail is not something I would have expected from a discount store, but was pleasantly surprised to find. Thanks again Jeanne, your the best! Kristin Moran
I purchased a Hoover Windtunnel and within the week the motor burned out. Talked to a young man in the Independence, MO Noland Rd Store and he was most helpful, polite and well informed. I returned the vacuum with no hassle and am very pleased with the way the store handled this. Each visit to the store I was surrounded by nice, well groomed, courteous employees and they did everything to make my shopping pleasant. I do not think this is the "ordinary" way people are treated in most retail stores. A big thank you to "Mike", the manager, and the employees for this excellent service. In addition the store was very clean and well organized.

My husband and i drove over 100 miles to biglots in spokane washington to buy our first lit xmas tree and were excited to put it up well there was no stand in the box so called the store just to find out we had to wait for a different manager after talking to one already so have to try and get ahold of the other manager in the morning so we found a tree stand in the mean time thought that would solve the problem becouse we were told they couldn't ship us one by the first manager thout every thing was going good until we heard a big crash the stand broke breaking my old very old expencive lampand a few other favorite things we can't aford to go back to the storewe are old and the roads are bad where we live please help signed very sad people
Very simple... your prices are no longer a bargain... they are too high and all other stores beats them. I used to shop a lot and now almost not at all.
I'm on Big Lots email list which notifies me about specials. I've tried to purchase the sale item as soon as possible, but OFTEN they don't have the item.
Just this past Sunday morning I wanted to buy the floor lamp they advertised. The store just opened and ie was the first day of a two day sale. They didn't have the item. I was told it had never come in and as usual, they wouldn't issue a rain check.
I think they advertise things so you come for the unavailable advertised item and end up buying something other than the special. I now shop the item that brought me there: If its not available, I immediately leave to avoid getting cought in their bait and switch.
Answer: Only during business hours and good luck. They all seem very busy and unable to help beyound try the website in a couple of hours if you can't complete your order.
