I am pretty sure all of a sudden, they are using something to drive the prices up, all these "new people" you see always bid exactly the same and bid around 3-5 seconds before the end. Let me know if anyone else notices a difference now. Bidsauce you are going to lose alot of loyal bidders if you start pulling this kind of scam.
Had a pop up come on my computer about this auction site. Went to get more info and it asked for credit info to get more info. Next thing you know I'm charged $149. I immediately call my credit card co., Bank America, and ask them if the payment had been processed, and they said no. I asked them to decline the payment hey didn't. Went around and around with both Bidsauce and Bank of America, got them both on the phone at the same time, Bidsauce said they would refund, they didn't, but bank of America still wouldn't credit my card. Bank of America and Bidsauce are both crooks.
Biggest scam out there in Pennyland. I won 35 gift cards. 4 months later I called to find out where they were. They said they had 'vendor' problems. After threatening to go to the BBB, a week later I got 33 of them. They charge $7 shipping for each card, but they sent them all in 1 package! So they ripped me off for over $200 in shipping! It's been 6 months and I wm still waiting for the other 2. A month ago I called and they said they would email me a tracking number later that day. It never came so I called again a week later. They said "we have no idea when your cards will be shipped." Starting tomorrow I will do everything in my power to have this place shut down. STAY AWAY!
Unclear info about how the site works, does not allow you to register for "guaranteed wins" when you attempt to click on it. Wish I had read the blogs first! I never would have been suckered into it.
:(
I ordered from BidSauce over 5 months ago. I have contacted them several times and still have not received my merchandise. They were quick to take my money, but not to deliver. I recently went on BidSurfer.com and won several auctions. This is a brand new site and isn't running 24/7, but they actually deliver! I had my stuff 2 days after I paid! Yes, I said it. TWO DAYS! I am so mad at Bidsauce because I spent a lot of money and have not received anything. All my business now belongs at BidSurfer! They say the more that register, the sooner they will be able to run 24/7. Screw BidSauce, come join me at BidSurfer!
I won 2 bids from this sight 11-19-10 and i am still trying to collect my winnings.
They blame a third party for the problem. They are still auctioning off the same things i won, but no payment is being made to old customers. They say 2 weeks is how long it takes to process a winning. After talking to them for third time they now claim they have no date as payment from third party is slow in coming.
STAY AWAY < this is not a place that hit a ruff patch and is trying to correct it.
I've spent like $90 on this site and already have a macbook pro on my doorstep!
I won an auction in mid-October for a $25 Old Navy gift card and STILL haven't received it!
The customer service is horrible; excuses after excuses. What a scam!
It's been 5 months since i won 2 items, still waiting for those items. Avoid this site!
I was charged $149.00 to join the bidding community. I won 4 bids valued at $200.00 and was charged shipping amounting to about $30.00. Three months passed and never received my items. Every time I called, they told me my items (gift cards) were on back order and would be shipped soon. I ended talking to a manager who told me I could not get a refund because it was a binding contract. I told him the contract is null and void since I haven't received my item... the contract states I will receive my items... and as far as I was concerned he is in violation of the contract. Four months later, I disputed the charges with my credit card company as ITEM NOT RECEIVED. And got my $149.00 and my shipping charges with the finance charges back from the credit card company. Bid Sauce is a SCAM. BE SMART... don't let them scam you.
DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS SITE! I didn't find out until after I had registered that they had charged my credit card for what looked like free bids. I figured out that I was just a sap that didn't read the fine print. But the worst was yet to come. Since I had already sunk some money into it I bid on - and "won" - a Kindle. That was on 10/12/10. As I write this on 2/17/11 I still do not have it. Their customer support people patiently told me there was a problem with the supplier and that they could not provide a ship date for my Kindle. Today they said that a third party is holding my money and will not release it to them to purchase my Kindle. They have effectively robbed me of my money STAY AWAY!
I went to sign up and noticed right away that there was no other choice for a bidbox than the $89.95, even though there were much cheaper options advertised. Buyer beware, that $89.95 charge is there, but it is tiny and on the registration page right above where you enter your credit card info. There is no mention of a $149.00 charge, like others have mentioned here. When you try to leave the registration page, the site won't let you- that is ALWAYS a sign of a scam.
I did not enter my card info, but I did enter my e-mail info. Hopefully my spam filter will keep them from blasting me with useless e-mails. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, especially after finding site jabber. I did my research about bidsauce, and found almost nothing but glowing reviews- it took some fancy wording in a search engine to find site jabber.
I doesn't work DON'T do it
I bid on a $50 gift card won the card for $0.15 in October 2010
With shipping and handling it came up to a little over $ 7
Promised delivery before Christmas
Its now Jan 30,2011 still no card and was told the company that took my money doesn't
Want to pay Bidsauce
Called they will not ship till they get payment
SCAMMMED
I have yet to receive 4 items on bids won in early Nov. I'm not sure they are not a total scam. They have my money and I have nothing. I've emailed and called and am told "they are busy."
Be careful, looks a little like a scam. I've been watching this one for a while and just a little leary.
It took 3 months, but Utah's Consumer Protection Div of the attorney general's office got my money back for me. The BBB did not, nor did my state's own omnsbudsperson, only Utah's. They actually met with the merchant. It worked. It took time, but it worked. Get the complaint form, complete it, and let them work for you. $149.95 is a lot of money.
I won an walmart gift card on 9/22/2010 and have still not received it. Customer service shows my order and cannot tell me when I will get it still. They just keep saying I am on high priority since I have been waiting so long. DON'T USE THIS SITE!
I was VERY skeptical but bought the 250 bid package for $149. I won an auction for a Sony 40" TV with Google for $3.04. I did this on December 20,2010 and the TV was delivered on January 13th, 2011. Although their customer service stinks, I did get what i was promised.
Why don't all those ripped-off people simply dispute the charge with your credit card company. Use these reviews as proof it's a rip-off if need be. Worked for me, BidSauce got me with the same $149 scam as most of you and wound up with not a penny of my money.
I found this site by accident, and thought it looked fun, so I bought a bid pack. It is fun and relatively easy to win an auction. Now, to receive your auction win, you must pay at least $6.94 per auction win (just for gift cards, more for electronics, etc., even if they are shipped together with other wins). I waited weeks to receive my auction wins after corresponding with them online through customer service. Once I receive some of my auction wins I purchased more bids and won more auctions, realizing that shipping is their weak point. Well, it's been almost 6 months, and I have yet to receive almost $2,000 worth of auction wins. So if you are in it for the thrill of winning, spend your money. But be ready to wait a long time to receive your winnings if ever. I plan to complain to Better Business Bureau, and have found a better run auction site.
Answer: I have been using penny auction sites for some time now. I do not work for a penny auction site, and am therefore not affiliated with them. I am a residential loan officer. I am a member of bid sauce. I just read a good majority of the complaints on here and wanted to make some general observations. 1. To the people who feel scammed by making a $149 purchase. Get over it. It clearly states on the site what you are purchasing. Once you have registered on the site, you could hit backspace, or go to the homepage without buying bids, and could purchase them at a later time if you chose. It even gives you several options of what size of the bidpack you desired to buy. It then asks for your credit card information to pay for the TOTAL that is directly in front of you. If you feel duped, because of that, then you are an idiot. You selected a product, they gave you a total, and you gave them your credit card number to purchase the item... Is it really that difficult to comprehend? 2. To those of you who couldn't understand how penny auctions work. Ever heard of doing a little research prior to? Everyone that knows anything about the basics of penny auctions knows that you purchase your bids prior to, and then use those bids to bid on items. If you win the item, then you pay for the "winning bid amount". This goes for any site... (Quibids, BidCactus, Arrowoutlet etc.) It's REALLY not BidSauce's problem that you haven't done your homework. Don't be an idiot. Do your research! 3. Shipping related issues: This one I am unsure of, and could warrant a valid claim. I recently won my first gift cards from the site, so I can't comment as to whether or not they honor their wins. From reading your posts, it appears that the site has been up and running for a good while, so I'm assuming that they would either A.) Have to be honoring their wins to stay in business that long or B.) Have been repeatedly ripping customers off for the entire time, which would baffle me to think that they have managed to escape being shut down all this time. Can anyone post anything about having actually received items they won? I'd be curious if they are just slow on their shipping, or are honestly ripping people off... I hope you don't take my comments the wrong way! I know many of you are frustrated, just a personal observation:) Marshall
