I have ordered internationally with B&H. They have not made contact with me, despite having multiple ways of doing so, and when the package got stuck in custom, they let it sit there and be destroyed. They did not refund me, nor apologize. 200$ value worth of purchases- gone. They do not care about your business, and I would advise against ever using their services.

We sent two emails on this topic to you, using the email address you provided when the order was placed. In each we informed you that if the fees were not paid then the shipper, DHL, would consider the package abandoned as is their common practice. Came through as usual

I needed some not very esoteric printing supplies which my local photo store did not have in stock. I was able to find all of them quickly and easily on B&H Photo's website and it is sending them to me with expedited shipping. Couldn't be better.

Defective product returns are a nightmare

I have twice ordered open box items from B&H that were defective. When I called for an RMA to return the items I was told the replacement order would be expedited. What I was not told either time was that they would not be shipped until AFTER the first item was received and checked in. ("Expedited" is their standard shipping policy anyways.) This time around I remembered my previous experience, called back and asked for status when I didn't see a new order appear. I was told "I am sorry that was not made clear". There's a huge difference between that, and it never having been said. Last time it took several months to resolve the issues (I don't remember why). I can't advise buying anything but new from B&H; that's two out of two miserable experiences.

Bad on returns

I bought my Canon R5 from B&H also my 24mm to 240mm lens Also bought Small Rig cage = about $2,000; Bought and returned a DJI RS3 and extra batteries and accessories for it because it DID NOT WORK then I bought some Lavalier socks for $60 and a SD card for $250 and the lavalier socks were HUGE, way too big for a lavalier lapel mic. And B&H refused to accept return/refund them! Saying I had returned too many items! I even told them I would switch to Adorama and they did not care that they were losing my business.

Hi James,

I read your review and wanted to see how I can address your concerns. I regret that our company had to make the difficult decision to not accept returns from you anymore and you feel we do not care about your business. What you describe is contrary to B&H's standards of excellence. We focus our training on providing our customers with a great experience which is focused on courtesy and sharing knowledge. We want every customer to have the best solution possible.

While nobody likes bad reviews, we take it as an opportunity to see if we can resolve any issues our customers are having. When our Customer Service Department makes the decision to block a customer from making returns it is one that they do not take lightly. This is an extreme measure and does not happen often. We want our customers to be happy although there are several mitigating factors that are taken into consideration when they do that. I reviewed your account and see that you have been shopping with us for at least the last 9 years and we appreciate that you considered us for those purchases.

Unfortunately, you had an extremely high return rate amounting to 2/3rds whether measured by order quantity or dollar value. Very often this merchandise has to be written off and cannot be sold by our Used Department to recoup any of the losses. We did not prohibit you from purchasing, we are only saying we can longer accept returns or exchanges. -- Henry Posner / B&H Photo-Video

I mean, great outfit, comparable to most places. Pricing SOMETIMES is even cheaper than the bigger markets. Good shopping experience except their sorting in search is half broken. "Price lowest to highest" never works if you click on the drop down to activate that. If you go to ANY other option it will work, and THEN you can sort by Price Lowest to Highest. They need a slight update for that it seems. I haven't had to deal with customer service yet but I've heard they are great.

I typically order from Amazon, but due to promised, but non-existent 2-day delivery and two very expensive Amazon items that somehow disappeared after being received at a UPS waypoint, I decided to try B&H. Two monitors later, wow! Free two-day shipping that actually is two-day shipping (from FedEx, no less)! One monitor was DOA. Called their customer service and experienced a seamless return. Agent asked about the monitor specs I was looking for in a replacement, and helped me identify a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7, a much better choice than my original one, which I'm definitely enjoying now. Just now ordered a Laptop Cooler, which are typically USB-powered. I had looked for an hour or more for a cooler that was AC-powered (I'm out of USB ports on my laptop), and couldn't find one. I then went to B&H to buy a USB-powered cooler and a USB Hub. Low and behold, B&H offered a third-party USB wall charger and cable as an accessory for the cooling pad I wanted! That shows how close to the customer they are! Bottom line? Best E-store on the planet

I am a repeat customer of B&H for several reasons, one of which is how easy it is to find what I need on their website and then pay for it. I also rely heavily on the customer ratings and the description and details that are provided for each item. Last, it's good to know that B&H prices are competitive.

Received my TV and upon switching on the screen was busted. They refused to exchange or refund because I had not reported the damage within 2 days(my fault as I was away and only opened the TV when I returned) Spent $350 for pile of junk. They could have easily see that this damaged was caused at the packing stage.

Our return policy specifies, "... claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be received within two business days of receipt of merchandise."
