Can't figure out why Shari's Berries charges twice for delivery.
Used Edible Arrangements instead.
They may need to enter into a shipping contact with a reputable (local) carriers to reduce cost to the consumer.
Paying twice for the same delivery was not an attractive option.

I've used them twice and both times my orders failed to ship as ordered. Customer service is awful. Never again!
They suck I wont order from them anymore there's no 0 on the rating otherwise I would give them a 0 no customer service no initiative to fix their mistakes

Shipping a Mother's day gift, and thought it was expensive, but a nice treat. The shipping nearly doubled the fee, and of course I noticed it too late.
No more Shari's berries for me. Done!
Might update this later if I do get my order still and they turn out to be good. So, I ordered something for my sister for Mothers Day. She's been dealing with a lot and I wanted to cheer her up a bit. When I checked out my order was not even over $40. A bit later I get an email saying that I was charged almost $70! Needless to say I wouldn't of ordered if I knew they were going to be that much. I would of taken my chances making my own. I called the customer service # and got someone fairly quickly. He was hard to hear and didn't seem to be 100% when it came to speaking english. I've had to deal with worse so I was willing to try. I explained what happened he didn't seem surprised. Reading the reviews here I now know why. At first he told me that there was nothing they could do seeing as they were already shipped. I had just placed my order an hour ago at most and I made sure he knew that as well. I then asked him how my order went from not even $40 to $70. He gave me no answer and put me on hold several times saying he needed more info to verify my order. I verified my info and waited on hold again. When he came back on he again said there was nothing they could do for me. Not about to take that as a final answer I told him one of two things were going to happen. He would either cancel the order like I asked or get a manager on the phone right now. I was put on hold again. At this point I was ready and waiting to get in touch with Paypal and the bbb if he came back with the same bs answer. When he finally came back on I was amazed. He said that I would be getting a full refund and the berries would still be shipping out. At that point I thanked him for his "effort" and end our call politely as possible. I did get an email stating I would get a full refund so we will see if the berries and money show up. Ttfn
Seems I'm not the only one having issues with "hidden costs". I placed the order on a Tuesday. My mother was at my house so I was trying to be discrete. I placed the order and quickly put my phone away. I didn't think too much about it until Wednesday when I check back on my status. I'd set the delivery date to Thursday to cut back on costs, figuring I could keep them in the fridge and present them to her Sunday. To my shock, the cost had jumped from my original $24.99 to $39.99 (29.99 for the berries, 14.99 for Standard delivery and 4.99 for Rush delivery but a $10 discount).
Instantly I grab the phone, call them up and demand a refund or cancellation. I was told the $4.99 was Standard Shipping but couldn't understand what the rep said the $14.99 was for. Regardless, this is NOT what I selected on the website nor saw before placing the order. Even right now (Wednesday) I could order and have them delivered on Sunday for the same price as they are attempting to charge me now!
First, offered to refund the 4.99 "Standard delivery" (which again, showed up as "Rush delivery" on my receipt). I told them this was not enough and demanded a full refund. After about a minute of silence (which actually happened after almost every exchange) I chimed in and said if they couldn't help me, please forward me to someone who could. A bit more time passed before came back on and approved refunding the $14.99 charge. I did agree to this...
If these are amazing, I may consider updating this review. Honestly this is partly my fault because I should have checked my receipt right away. Perhaps something towards the end of the site showed the larger amount. But even still, how on earth does one get charged the same for Sunday delivery as I do for Thursday delivery?
Received this 12 berries from my wife. ALL the berries were smashed and melting. Even the message note inside was a mess. I would go with Edible Arrangements over this poor excuse of a business. I live in PA. They shouldn't be melting...
It was difficult to order & once order was placed all sorts of hidden cost showed up on receipt of purchase! The order ended up being over double original amount! When I tried to cancel order the customer service rep, who spoke very poor english, gave me the runaround! Thankfully, I payed with paypal & can block the charge!
An absolute joke & waste of your time.
I placed an order for mothers day today. They sent me an email with a different delivery date I requested and was promised / supported by their website.
I called the support number provided to correct their mistake... twice. Finding someone who actually spoke English was a challenge and my mistake thinking that would actually happen. But I hung in there giving them an opportunity. (1.2 hours total out of life I will never get back.)
I ended up canceling the order and assured I would receive an email confirmation. Which of course I never received. I have been in the hospitality business for more than 25 years and NEVER received worse service.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this situation.

I received these as a gift. I was very disappointed. They looked nothing like in all their advertisements. No pretty green tops, not as large and some of the candy was cracked and broken. I complained to the company and they sent me another box, just as bad as the first. I only gave them two stars because the taste was ok, but honestly I could have done better making them myself for a much cheaper price.
Heard a lot of their ads and I thought I would give them a try for Mother's Day. Though even at the advertised "sale" price of $39 for 12 chocolate dipped berries it seemed expensive to begin with (you can get the same things at the Wal-Mart deli for $10). However, I bit the bullet and decided I would send my mother and my wife one, so I'm figuring on about $90 after shipping. Get to the payment screen and am ready to hit complete and happen to look at the total... wait?!? What? $148?!? For that price those berries should be dipped in pure platinum! So I look at the breakdown to see how $80 became $148. $33.98($16.99x2) for standard shipping, $19.98 ($9.99x2) for a "Guaranteed Delivery Surcharge" (even though I said delivery was flexible and Mother's day is still a week away). And $7.98 ($3.99x2) for a rural delivery surcharge. Even though I have received hundreds of orders from various companies and have never, not one single time, been charged extra for being "rural" (which I'm really not, both I and mother live in large town of ~30,000). Deleted that order as fast as I could, went to Amazon and ordered chocolate covered berries from Golden State Fruit Company, they were $5 cheaper and included 18 berries instead of 12 and best of all, two day shipping was FREE saving me $78 over Shari's! I will never even consider this greedy company again. Honestly don't know how this outfit stays in business, lazy holiday shoppers with money to burn I guess...
$20 for 6 strawberries? Seriously?! And then $15 more for shipping! AND THEN they tried to charge me $5 more because I live in a warm state (Arizona). SCREW THAT! A complete rip off and a sham. I cancelled my order and made the strawberries my damn self. Absolutely appalled. Disgusting business
Shari's Berries is the place to go for perfect strawberries. Gave to my daughter for her 30th birthday. LOVED them!
My son shipped me berries for my birthday. Supposed to arrive Friday, arrived Monday. Looked like they sat in a 90 degree warehouse the whole weekend. Once I got them cooled, they looked good but tasted hideous. Go with Edible Arrangements instead.
Will never order Shari's Berries ever again. The website stated it could be delivered as early as 05/08 so that is what I selected. Checked out and AFTER I got to the end, it was over 35 dollars for shipping and all sorts of other ridiculous charges, rush charge? Really. If this order gets to my father in law and it bad... First time customer LAST time customer. Complete ripoff.
My daughters bought me an order of chocolate covered strawberries. They were supposed to be fresh and delivered same day made. They were inedible! First of all they were frozen solid. The berries were not ripe. If you cut one open you saw a green center. The chocolate covering was hard as a rock and tasteless.
The shipping costs more than the order, If you order more than one item, you get charged again. They charged $125 to ship $100 worth of goods. If they could combine orders to same address, I would consider buying again.
I am so disappointed... I expected more from this company. While my husband was deployed he used to send me these all the time and they were amazing. Now however... I just placed an order for my sister in law to cheer her up. My two year old niece goes into surgery on wed the 9th, its open heart surgery and my SIL is very scared. I sent her the cheesecake bites with a note to just breathe, and to take a moment. I wanted them delievered the 8th so she could at least get a little cheer up before she takes her daughter to surgery. I paid the extra to be sure of it. So a 35$ order of cheesecake bites cost me nearly 70$ but I was like whatever, itll be worth it to make her feel better right? Wrong! These idiots put the wrong date of delievery! Instead of the 8th theyre being delievered on the 15th! Well after my nieces surgery! Okay, no big deal, I try to call the number to get them to fix the date. Over an hour on hold waiting for someone to take my call and no way to fix the order myself! I will NEVER order from this place again! I suggest you save your money as well. This is by far the worst experience Ive ever had with them. So now Im scrambling around trying to get together a gift to send her presurgery and hope that things go right so my second gift doesnt seem insensitive!
I will NEVER order from them again. My mom ordered a dozen berries for my birthday and they supposedly "arrived" and was "left at my front door" (It wasn't) So I called FedEx to ask where my package was and they said that wasn't the address it was delivered to, as listed by the sender. They said I had to call the sender. So I call Shari's customer service and it took 37 minutes of me being put on hold constantly with a person who I could barely understand, having to repeat my address over and over again for them to tell me that I can't get them resent. I hung up. So I tried calling corporate, which was just the same customer service line with another person who I could barely understand. I asked to speak with corporate so I could file a complaint and she kept trying to tell me that her supervisor wasn't there. (It was the middle of the day, your supervisor is there.) So I told her I wanted to file a complaint so instead she tried to do the whole process of trying to resend it again, to tell me AGAIN that it won't work, which I tried to tell her in the first place. She kept putting me on hold for super long periods of time and then said "I can't disclose any information about this account". I asked why and she just kept repeating that and refused to answer and said I would receive a call back tomorrow. I told her I never wanted a call from them ever again and that I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. NEVER order from them because if you have a problem with you order, you won't get it fixed and the person you are trying to make happy with some berries is gonna be really disappointed on their birthday.
Worthless! Order from here if you dont want to get your order on time! Pay the rush free if you want them extra late! This company is a $#*!ing joke. Im so upset at how this whole experience has gone. I would NOT recomed Sharis Berries to anyone. Ever!
Answer: Because they f@ckimg suck, that's why. Once they get your money, piss off. They charged me 4 times for my order and never responded to any of my emails.
