I was recommended to use BeFrugal to shop online, and I was satisfied with the 9% for $300 cash back for the new user, and 6% cash back for the website I was shopping at. Therefore, I used it to shop for Christmas gifts.
However, when I checked back on my account for the cash back balance after a week, I found that the website kept asking me to login, and I couldn't do it even after I changed the password. So I messaged them to ask for help. Then they replied back and said that "Due to violations of BeFrugal's terms and conditions, this account was deactivated."
I don't understand why, and they didn't even explain. I then waited until the next day and live chat with the customer service, but they just told me that my account was banned and I couldn't reactivate it without telling me a reason. Yet, they stop responding! (Maybe they were busy, but I'd been waiting for more than 30 mins.)
I assumed that they just don't want to pay the cashback they PROMISED!
A false Website and never pays advice no one wastes his money on this lie and a complaint was filed against him to the competent authorities because he offers fake offers
I active 3 offers by them site to amazon.com but they not accept to send me cashback 50$ and they ignore my all email.
They are just fake site and fake people there
LEGIT PURCHASES MADE ON BEFRUGAL WEBSITE. ONLY TO BE TOLD, SOME GENERIC RESPONSE AS TO WHY YOU DID NOT GET PAID. I BELIEVE THEY ARE POCKETING THE MONEY AND NOT PASSING IT ON TO THE CONSUMER. FAKE TODD THE ONLY PERSON WHO RESPONDS ONLY THROUGH WEBSITE CHAT AND OFFERS NO ASSISTANCE. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE PURCHASES IN THE LAST YEAR AND ALMOST NO PAYMENTS WERE ISSUED TO ME. THIS PLACE IS A PURE SCAM... DO NOT USE THEM. MANY OTHER SITES OUT THERE! BEWARE!
In April 2021 I signed up for 2 AT&T postpaid plans, and according to Befrugal I should be getting $100. However since then they the amount has been showing as pending, and when contacting Befrugal, they are just saying "we have sent a request to At&t in June, but we can't do more, and it's no guarantee that you will get paid." I have asked them if I can either get in touch with a supervisor at Befrugal, or an email to the department in charge of At&t's affiliate marketing, but according to "Todd" none can be provided. I just have to wait. How can this business practice be legal? They are promising people that if you fullfil certain obligations, like click on their link, and then not cancel the purchase, you will get paid. And when you don't they take zero responsibility. How can I know that they are not pocketing my $100 since that would be so easy for them - especially when they won't even let me contact At&t directly. Another thing that this Todd told me that I found strange, was that Befrugal don't get a cent from my purchase with At&t. If that's true how are they making their money? I've used Rakuten, and Swagbucks and never had this problem when signing up for a phone plan. They usually pay out within 60 days.
Rebates are higher here... but what good is that if they are not credited to your account?. The dispute process is purposely drawn out so that you cant return the order because the return window has expired, leaving you with product you will never get credit for and paid full price. Other sites like Dollar Dig answer emails within 24 hrs and its a personal email... not some cut and paste garbage
Be Frugal does not send you the money you earn for shipping trips & doesn't give you the $10 reward. It's a scam stick to legit sites, I'm going back to Rakuten, they actually send me my money.
Do they say in-store savings? I have yet to be reimbursed. No doubt it has great prices on lots of items but the website is not easy to use. The customer service support is not the best.
Love befrugal! Always great deals and easy to earn cashback. I have been using it for 3 years. Love Love Love
After not only taking advantage of a great deal on my own account AND THEN showing my friends about the deal (and thus boosting BeFrugal's number of accounts and users), they get the gall to cancel my account for "violating terms of service". I used my friend's referral code, got the deal, and then referred one of my own friends. I didn't refer tons of people, I didn't use multiple cards or accounts or find ways to "trick" the system, I just got banned. I thought this site would be a strong competitor to Rakuten, Lolli, Honey, or even Raise, but it seems I was wrong. Gtfo outta here BeFrugal
My account was banned without reasoning and i asked support why it was banned and they said it was involved in fraud, the only thing i did with my account was 7 orders and i invited 20 something people using my referral link (these were all real people) I read their ToS and it said that they can ban you without reasoning and wont even talk to you about it or tell you why. They stay true to their name Be FRUGAL, I would have $234 right now if they didnt ban my account.
Terminated my account for no reason while I had money from cash app on it... wouldn't recommend go somewhere else with a better website.
On or about 3/2/2021 I ordered from BeFrugal 100 forever stamps for $43.00. Apparently BeFrugal was only a middle man in this advertisement as I was not charged $43.00 by BeFrugal, but by Tanga in the amount of $47.69. One can not be certain what will be charged when purchasing from BeFrugal. In my book BeFrugal is guilty of false advertising.
Unlike with Rakuten or TopCashback, you don't get the $10 sign-up bonus until you make enough purchases to get $10 in rewards.
Not good.
I also got credited for $9.99 on a purchase that was $19.98 before tax and shipping.
Not sure if it is BeFrugal's fault or the store's fault. The store is MilesKimball.com
Unfortunately, they are no longer a reliable cashback website. They have been rejecting so many purchases that I no longer use BeFrugal as my go-to site. I don't recommend them at all.
I've been using befrugal for years and It's great to be able to earn cashback from all my online purchases. Although I am kinda sad that some brands I used to be able to get a % from are no longer available (Nordstrom, ebay for example). But it's still pretty good. Their support team is responsive and helpful chasing down credits too.
Big time saver, excellent. Great way to make a shopping easily online. Can highly recommend this thank you...
As a seasoned user of cashback sites, I felt that recent BeFrugal business practices to be questionable and not trending in the right direction. I recently have a pending cashback from Target.com reversed unilaterally because they said cashback is not available for gift card purchases. The only problem with that argument is that Target cashback rate & terms change constantly, yet terms always included fine print about gift card exclusion, except for that first weekend in December 2020. The specific terms of Target cashback during that time are as follow:
"Earn 2% Cash Back on sales up to $500 at Target during the Plus Rate Promotional period. Sales exceeding $500 will earn 2% Cash Back on the first $500 and 0.01% on amounts exceeding $500. Plus Rate promotion expires 06-Dec-2020 11:59 PM ET."
There's no mention about exclusion as usual. And a couple of days after I made the purchase, I saw pending cashback for the purchase in my account, which then got reversed unilaterally by BeFrugal recently. I'd advise users to steer clear of BeFrugal until they improve the business practice of reversing pending cashback unilaterally and not honoring the click-through terms posted on their site.
They will reject high cash back items and put them on hold automatically. After a few weeks of "investigation", they will inform you that your case was denied due to some generic reasons. And they stepped away from the liability by saying the store did not pay them. There is also 3 months delay between your purchase date and they can pay you. Overall, it's not a trustworthy company. There are Rakuten and other companies doing a much better job even though the cash back may look smaller.
I have been using this website for making some large purchases. I accumultaed $79 of cashback. When I went to redeem, the website says I received a prepaid VISA gift card for $79. When I go to redeem, it directs me to another website that says the token is expired. Therefore, you are unable to receive any cashback. I have contacted support, but no resolution yet.
I didn't get my cash back and wrote numbers of emails to Todd from befrugal with zero interest to help and I'm all hopeless now. I spent $1,299.99 on camera from Best Buy and I chose befrugal as my cash back which I really regret. I should have gone with Rakuten or Ibotta or other cash back apps. Sent em all the required informations upon request but what did I get? So many lame excuses to feed their customers, no thank you!
Answer: I had $38.24 coming back to me that I had to wait forever to get. And never got it. It finally became payable, I went to claim it, and befrugal blocked me from doing so. All the cash back disappeared. After that clicking on payments generated a 404 page. This is ridiculous. Whether it's a problem with their system or some other issue I don't know. But it really feels like they scammed me out of cash back. They won't let me log into my account now. I tried to reset my password and they won't let me do that either. A word from the wiser - Use Rakuten - they are 10 times more trustworthy than this thing. They also pay you regularly. BeFrugal is a Total scam! I read another review on Trustpilot where it says they will deactivate your account if they don't want to pay you. That's exactly what it looks like they did to me. Unbelievable.

Answer: Hi Linda, great question as we know that sometimes these permissions can look scary. The BeFrugal Automatic Coupons & Cash Back Chrome extension will apply coupons and activate Cash Back at the shopping cart of thousands of online stores. This permission just allows us to display a small notifier in your shopping cart that you click to apply the coupons and activate your Cash Back. I hope this answers your question. Happy shopping! - Chris from BeFrugal
Answer: You can check out what percentage of your expenditures you will earn by searching for Travelocity on the BeFrugal website.
Answer: Hi there, in order to earn cash back on your online shopping, you need to first be signed up for BeFrugal, then click the store on our website and shop as normal. We cannot issue retroactive cash back for purchases you made before becoming a BeFrugal member.
