In the end I went with an alternative service provider with a cheaper offer - but Eco were otherwise impressive.

I raised my concerns with bark. They refused to refund me. L had to cancel my card to stop them taking further payments. Leads are of a poor quality and quite expensive.

This company retained my card details without my knowledge, they processed a payment without my permission. Leads are of a poor quality and not good value for money.
On several occasions I have used credits to apply for jobs that are posted on the app right away. Upon trying to contact the clients the line rings out with no answer. I have also tried to add the customers on What's app and not even the messages are delivered. This is happening far too often. Paying for a service to receive leads but most leads are fake.

Used this company and although they put me in touch with a trades person, this person was a scam artist (didn't do the job that was quoted, but aggressively took the money). I contact bark and was sent a link to a fair trade website: a polite not our problem'. Think twice before using - or you'll be throwing your money away!
Before this was posted, we did contact bark.com who used a very similar stock phrased email as their reply below. We have already given the name of traders. Still nothing. This company do not vet their contractors - they will literally recommend any scam artist... where will this stop: once someone is raped or murdered?! They have also removed our verified negative review on their website; and have subsequently removed my negative reviews of Bark.com on other websites, as it was my partner's email address that was used to find the so called professionals'. This company is a genuine scam. Use one of the more reputable companies like mybuilder.com.

We do not claim to vet any tradespeople who use our site. Our role is simply to put you in touch with a professional in much the same way the Yellow Pages, Google or an advert in the paper would do. Paying $25 for a lead which is not even in the stage of making a decision is not worth the money.
Most of the leads are exploring their options and waiting for the quotes from other 3 service providers which tells you that they are selling the same lead to others.
STAY AWAY from them!

BARK.com has good intensions with their product. Unfortunately, I have found through my lead acquisitions, that the typical consumer is clueless on the amount of time and financial burden on the subscriber.
I had joined BARK.com and bought into the "lead credits", more than once, to increase my market base with the hopes of landing more projects/ Even at least one project to pay for the service. After contacting well over 20 posts, half of which would not respond to emails / phone calls, I found most of the individuals I did communicate with were just testing the waters, fishing for ideas, and had no intent to at least engage in dialog concerning their post and how my services (Licensed Architect) may help. This to me is a total waste of time and monies, on my part, of buying into purchased leads.
I am on my third round of purchasing leads, once done with the credits I will be deleting my account.

Hi. I tried Bark to receive more work.
Spent over $100 on credits. We phoned and called the referrals - No response at all.
Then BARK automatically charged my credit card to top up my account. I had to phone to have the charge reversed - I am still waiting for this to go through.

So I called in to see what Bark.com's "money back" policy if not successful in getting leads was all about. After speaking for a while, I thought this was a great way to do business and not just scam small businesses like a lot of other online services I heard about. This person with an English accent said to me "if you do not get a job in 10 days call us back and I will credit you your monies paid". I signed up based on this as being a fair shake knowing if no results, I would get my money back. That was the easy part. I paid $132 plus an ISA fee of $3.96 for total charge of $135.96. I was funneled lots of leads and responded to them all by emailing these leads in a very professional basis with even my website reference. All these leads had a cost based on my purchase of their bidding system. I blew through my $132 in no time, and they charged me for another $132 of which I called them immediately and said "no way did I sign up for more than $132". The second person I spoke to assured me if none of the leads come through, to call them back and they will "get you a credit". I said great and put on my calendar the 10 day alarm to call if no leads materialize. Well 10 days did go by and I called them again and they said that it will be "credited to you" immediately. I waited 3-4 days to see my bank account and no credit. I waited another 3 days and still no credit. I called the once again and asked where my credit is. They told me that the credit is NOT refunded to your credit card, but they said they have provided me with $165.00 of Bark.com 'bid monies"! WHAT A SCAM! Was not what the sales people told me. Now I am disputing this for false advertising. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND MAKE A LIVING OFF OF HARD WORKING SMALL BUSINESSES AND HAVE NO ETHICS!

Have been going back and forth for a week. They refuse to refund - but want to give more credits, which means they acknowledge the problem - but don't want to give back what they took unlawfully.

In the same way that paying for Google Ad Words or PPC does not guarantee work, using lead generation for online marketing cannot guarantee this either - these are B2B and not B2C and is why monetary refunds aren't possible for utilised marketing.

Poor customer service.
They back down and lie about their starter guarantee.
They send leads to unlimited amounts of people, meaning lots of businesses are spending at least a tenner to fight over one lead.
They send out lots of fake leads or people who aren't really invested in finding someone again wasting money.
Absolutely shocking customer service when you raise these issues.
Please don't waste your money.

I am a staging and design company. A separate design company, who is a competitor, used bark.com to reach out to me directly for a "quote" of residential interior design services. I sent them 2 emails for the opportunity to respond. I got none and went to Bark.com for a refund as the lead was clearly not legimate, but a competitor looking for intel... otherwise why not respond with "we were shopping comparison info for a client"... my prices are online so I would just direct them there of course. Instead they closed the lead exactly 15 mins after my email.
The Bark.com had the nerve to say they don't see it... with photos attached to the emails. SCAM!

The worst platform to get leads for your business (SEO and Webdesign category). Don't bother because leads are low quality and you will only lose money!
I have bought credits and contact cca. 5 leads, 80% of them don't even respond and the one that responded thought SEO services were cheaper, so they didn't convert.
After no one converted I contacted Bark to return my credits because they have this policy "We're so confident you'll get hired at least once, that if you don't we'll give you all your credits back.", but this only applies once.
Anyway, I got my credits back and went for a hunt. Again, I have contacted 5-7 new business. 50% of the business didn't respond or they closed the listing right away (they are just shopping, well they don't have to pay anything)
The one that responded I went back and forth for days, and at the end say they will go with someone else, even though I went to the bottom with my pricing.
Contacted Bark again to give me credits back, and they saj this is only once! Well if you are so confident that we will get hired at least once why don't you give credits back until we do get hired at least once so we cover the cost of your "credits"!?
Spend this $200 on Facebook ads or Google ads you will get way more leads and they will only be talking with you an not with 10x different companies, and with Bark you don't even know how many companies bided on a lead.

I am a tradesman and I can tell you this website is definitely not a place to look for any services. No vetting at all. And to all other tradesmen considering getting into this scam please don't. They promise a risk-free trial where you get 120 credits for 120 pounds. And if you do not win any jobs they will give your CREDIT back and not your money. From 10 leads I bought I think there was only one real person. I manage to speak to him on the phone 2 times. However, he was after information and price and actual tradesmen to do the job as he was quoting a job. All other ones I never manage to speak, they never reply to my message and emails. I think they all may be fake leads.
My advice to all people is to search for local tradesmen in google maps. Read their reviews and give them a call.
To tradesmen, I would say do not bother. In my opinion, you are more likely to lose money and time instead of winning a job.

Answer: Bark may or may not be legit, but their barks are very often bogus tire kickers or scammers. They've got a lot of work to do to clean up their act. They need to go straight membership and those needing the work done need to PAY to speak to a professional instead of the professional paying to speak to the bogus tire kicker.
Answer: No it is not, total scam. They take your money and send you fake leads.
Answer: Your reviews are high on Trustpilot because they remove all the negative reviews from their profile. Bark.com removed my review twice. Trustpilot is the only review website that allows businesses to remove reviews for a price. Trustpilot got criticized in several news articles for being easily manipulated of their 'Reviews' for $600 any business profile can push up or down review they want. Look up 'Trustpilot news articles'; they say 'Trustpilot reviews are just paid advertising'

Answer: Bark don't verify whether any of the customer tel numbers actually work and most of the leads are poor quality so they won't answer anyway. Save your money, honestly.
Answer: Very true. Misleading leads. No lead vetting. Just Bark saying leads have been verified. But how do we know when no lead responds. They seem fake to me. Bad experience and worst leading platform.

Answer: The 1 star reviews are real. All the other 5 stars are not. This website preys on desperate businesses that require work and signs them up with a cost. First, they searched deep on the internet as my business has NEVER heard of them before their Spam-my email. They send an email stating that I have a lead on their website that I NEVER signed up on. Then ask for money to see who this lead is. To keep their site running, they say to people who are looking for particular businesses that they have them when they don't.
Answer: £1.20 per credit for a starter pack, then £1.50 after that and unqualified leads with next to no information cost between 10 and 18 credits. 10 leads will cost over £200 and doubtful will generate any work
Answer: It's because the positive customer reviews are almost certainly fake. Look at the dates. Look at the volume of reviews. Approximately 100 positive customer reviews of Bark have appeared on Sitejabber between early December 2019 and today (late January 2020). Compared to the number of reviews they received prior to December 2019, that is just an astounding number of reviews. This is not normal.
