I've placed an order, and I expected to pick it up at their location. Waiting for about 3 weeks and received an update that my order will be there by 2:30 this particular day. When I'm at the location, the place was close. I called to find out that my order was not even fulfilled. How can it be worse than that?
Their products are in general very good however you can place an order for items that are in stock and they will not ship with your order because they don't hold items when you order them. I used to order from them quite often but no longer do for just this reason.
First time I bought wheat berries from them. It was ok not good because it has couple of mice poops. This should not be the standard of hygiene.
Second time I bought recently. I opened first bag and filter alot of chaff in few pounds of wheat. This us unfair. You are selling chaff mixed with wheat. Management should take care of it.
To begin, there are very little savings you acquire on most products. It is only when there is a sale that you receive any savings. The biggest problem with this company is that before you place your order, they do not give you a specific drop date or time. This would be fine if the host sites were available after working hours to allow you to pick up your products if you hold a job. But at some host sites- like the one closest to my house- she requires you to be there to pick up the products at delivery and will not hold them for you. In otherwords, they don't give you a time or date for the drop before you order, and if you are working at a job (such as a hospital like me) where you cannot leave, they expect you to arrange a friend or family member to be there to get the order because the host will not hold it for you. How does this even make sense as a business model? You can only sell to people who don't have a job or have one person who has few enough responsibilities at their job that they can leave to pick up the order mid-day.
They sold me hundreds of pounds of seeds all rotten and stole all of my money. I called them on the same day of delivery and they wouldn't refund. I hope they get what they deserve. Low prices just to steal your money in the end. Evil Company. Needs to be sued and have multiple people file Legal Lawsuits and end this company once and for all.
My first time attempting to order from Azure Standard. I ordered some products that were in stock at the time of my order - their web site indicated there were many dozens of the items available and I only ordered 4. I waited several weeks for my order to ship on their next truck to my location, but when it came time to ship my order, the items were no longer in stock and did not ship.
I spoke with customer service and they indicated that placing an order doesn't actually hold any product. You can place all the orders you want, but nothing is held for you and the items are freely available for other people to buy. If other people's orders ship before yours and the items you ordered go out of stock, you're out of luck. The next truck to my location is now 28 days away, so even if I place another order, it's a roll of the dice whether it will actually be fulfilled. The only way to find out is to place the order, wait and hope for the best.
This is a really poor way to run a business. I waited weeks for products I could have bought elsewhere, only to be told the items were no longer in stock and weren't going to ship to me. Unfortunately I won't be attempting to do business with this company ever again.
Ordered safflower oil for daughter. Rec'd invoice showing organic fruits and Vegas for twice original order. Call to cancel the latter. No one there to answer phone. Left two voice messages with phone number…no call. Poor customer service. Last order for me!

Was going to order from them but after reading the reviews. I'll go and order the 2800-3000 lbs of rye grains I need from else where. That I need every 2 to 3 months. Prices seem good though but the horror story of how you guys do business sounds like dog $#*!.
Unfortunately, the kidney beans I received in recent batch were all wrinkly and were still chewy after cooking. I am afraid, they are too old to use.
Placed order of in stock items and waited weeks. Received confirmation email saying my order was on the truck and heading my way. The day before delivery I revived a text saying a guy driving a Honda Accord would meet me in a random parking lot (yes it resembled an episode of Breaking Bad). AND the 2 main items of my delivery were given to someone else so tough $%*! Try again next month but even if it says its in stock when you order it probably wont be when shipped. Since they never guarantee you will get what you ordered its all a crab shoot. AND remember you cant cancel what they do decide to send you. AND there are no refunds. AND you had better be at the drop off site on time even if they change that at the last minute. SO don't make any plans for a delivery that will probably never arrive and wont be complete if it does.
I'm honestly confused by all the the reviews. Most of them seem like the result of ordering from a company having not read anything in their policies and then being caught off guard by it. There is a solution to this. Quite simply, read the operating procedure. Don't want to unload the truck? Tough. Find another company that will charge you 50 dollars per 30 pound bag of grain you order and get it straight to your door. I have done multiple orders through Azure and simply being diligent and checking the stock of each item in the different amounts allows you to alter which one you want to put in your cart up to the cut off and makes it much more likely you'll get the item. Don't get it? Again, tough. I imagine the volume this company is dealing with is insane. Hate to say this because I generally love my interactions with other Azure customers but these people leaving reviews seem exceptionally spoiled by modern convenience. Keep doing what you're doing Azure, we truly appreciate you.
So this company has the oddest and most difficult practice ever. So if you get drop shipped you need to send multiple employees to unload a whole truck of grain. So that's 40-60 a hr to pay employees to unload everyone else's shipment. Most ridiculous thing ever. That's just the beginning, they won't even process your order for a week.if you expecting product in a timely manner this is not the company for you. Then after they finally run your card it's another 3-5 days processing more before it gets shipped. Now since they don't run your card during purchase you have no idea the cost because it changes for shipping depending on who you talk to. So when they finally get around to processing you never know what your charged. I have not even received the order yet because they don't reach out and tell you that it takes days for them to move. So if your expecting to just pay and have product shipped for arrival on a certain date it's not going to happen. So I'm having to delay my customers another week because of this. As for quality of the product I can't say because it's all a week behind because of them. So it could be ground properly or a mess, I cannot say yet. I can say I will never order through this company again.
I just pay for red bean from this company. Although I add coconut in cart, but never pay for it. They actually forcibly added coconut to me and deducted more than 100 dollars. After communicating back and forth for a month, it took more than two months to get a refund. Extremely ridiculous seller.
Azure needs a driver assist person for every truck that delivers to consumers. Why should the clients unload the truck and everybody's else order? Makes no sense. Pay someone to hand the orders to every single client from the truck. The driver doesn't do it. Your customers are doing it? What for?
We have recently bought the hard white wheat. When I opened the bag we found the black insects. I called the customer service but it was no help at all. I have told that I had only 7 days to report the problem and these kind is insects are common in organic grain. Very disappointing.
I placed my first order with Azure Standard on July 21st and was supposed to pick up my order on July 29th. They had truck problems so the pick up was pushed to July 31st. There were more truck problems so the delivery was pushed to August 5. I was notified of this change around 6:30 the night before and the pick up was to be at 9 AM. An hour later, a new email stated there were more truck problems and the pick up date/time was unknown. Again. At 10:10 AM the next morning (August 5th), I received an email that pick up would be at 11AM. It's 40 minutes away from my home and I had to take off work last minute to go pick it all up. After talking to the truck driver and being told that was not normal for Azure Standard, I was ready to give them another chance, but then I noticed I was missing 2 orders of graham crackers (`19.48 each so $38.82 total) as well as the whole milk powder I ordered ($70.17). I was charged and did not receive the product. I emailed them on August 5th (the day of the pick up) and again on August 10th and have not received any response. I filled out a customer survey for Trust Pilot (August 15th) of which they responded to within a few hours and basically said someone would get to me when they got to me (in so many words). It is now August 31st and I still have not heard about or received any refund for my missing items.
Product availability and supply have gone downhill very sharply over recent years. At first it was just supply (they got greedy). Not just from expanding nationally, but commercially. They run out of stock for my order yet the neighborhood market has plenty (with a ridiculous markup). Quality_wise, the last few bags of rice were filled with way too much unhulled grains and rocks., I ended up tossng a good 40 pounds of various varieties into the compost pile.
My experience with Azure was baffling. I was looking for organic grains because they're good for the health of humans and the planet - two things that are very important to me. From the claims on their website, it would seem Azure's practices align with those values, but the reality was very different. During the height of covid, I saw unmasked drivers interacting closely with the unmasked drop coordinator. The driver was literally going from city to city, state to state, making dozens of drops every day - without masking or social distancing. What in the world?! Then I received a shipment of hard red wheat with lots of unfamiliar contaminants. There were many dark, pointy balls, as well as some green spirals. My internet searching led to nothing conclusive, so I emailed some photos with my concern to Azure. Over the course of many emails back and forth, the same employee told me that they were chaff (clearly not, as I know what chaff is), that they were seeds from cover crops and were safe to eat (when I looked up the crops she named, I learned that they're linked to severe symptoms and death in animals and humans), and that they're common (also not correct, as I've been grinding my own wheat for about fifteen years and haven't seen these contaminants before). It was insulting. They never apologized, recalled the wheat, offered a refund, or sent me clean wheat, even though I asked for those things. In the end, my family and I had to hand-sort 50 pounds of wheat to be able to use it. That was my last order with Azure.
I'm still not sure how I can have something in my cart NOT OUT OF STOCK and by the time the order comes its out of stock. I get it when its out of stock before you add it but seriously after you add it secured with a credit card and it goes out of stock. SO FRUSTRATING
Azure Standard is one of a number of places from whom I buy organic food. I think organic supply chains can be more dependable & less subject to the vagaries of conventional food. There are some quirks about how they fulfill orders when stock is low, but by buying bulk they can provide a true hedge against sharply escalating food prices. I really enjoy the high quality nuts they sell (Brazil, peanuts, pecan pieces.) And they have some excellent rices, bulk beans & grains. I like that you have the choice of buying in larger or smaller quantities. Also love their selection of raw goat cheeses. The drop is close to my house. Dispersion of the delivery is fast. And it's easy to contact a live person at the company for help.
Answer: Azure is an American, farmer owned food distribution company who has been distributing to individuals, buying clubs and businesses for over 30 years.
Answer: They will arrive cold as long as an appropriate shipping option is selected. We recommend two day shipping, since dry ice and icepacks only last around 3 days. Anything shipping selections longer than two days pops up a perishable shipping warning that the customer agrees to the risk and takes responsibility for the condition of the perishable items due to selecting a shipping option that isn't recommended for perishable orders.
Answer: Hi Anita. The Azure Brand is our private label brand and we are unable to disclose who our suppliers are, as we have non-disclosure agreements with the suppliers for our house brands.
Answer: Very easy - they respond quickly to questions through email.
Answer: ShaCariana, I counted 98 wings in a 10 pound bag just now. Hope this helps, sounds like you are planning a party!
