This is my second order with them that only part of the order was delivered. Then you call and wait on hold for a ridiculous amount of time while they try to track down the florist to see what happened. In both cases it was mylar baloons that were missing. They would refund but not deliver as the florist didnt have. Its a horrible company to have to try to get order right. Second time for me. Lesson learned.
I ordered flowers stating it would be as shown from the photo. The flowers that arrived to my brother were much smaller than expected. I am disappointed with the money I paid for a small arrangement that does not match the size of the indicated photo. I also ordered balloons and he was sent different ones in a different color and style. Some of them were also deflated upon arrival to him. I called them about this to have the order resent to him and still he was sent a small order of flowers that looked worse and were missing certain flowers. The balloons were also missing from this reorder. I had to call again to at least get the balloons refunded.
We were guaranteed a delivery for my Uncle's funeral of a floral spray. The order was paid, confirmed and guaranteed delivery a few hours before church services. The order was placed 24 hours in advance. The morning of the funeral, Avas called to say that they could not deliver it on time. I would never use the again and I would not recommend them to anyone. I have told me friends and family and evidently if you Google, their ratings are very poor.
Ordered a week prior. They texted me an hour before they were supposed to be delivered to say not only that they weren't able to make the delivery, but that the flowers I ordered weren't available at all. This is customer service in 2023.
I placed an order with Ava's florist prior to their cut off time for that day. I told him I wanted the flowers delivered that day and the customer service rep asked me what time. I told him it did not matter as long as it was delivered that day. As of 7 PM that evening, the flowers were not delivered, so I sent an email message to the company. The next day, I followed up with them, and they told me the flowers could not be delivered until Monday. I told them that was terrible customer service, and I would never be using them again. I asked for the flowers to be delivered That day instead of the following day, Monday, and he said that was impossible. I told him someone should have called me the day before to let me know there was any type of issue. Flowers after the fact are always irrrelevant. Do not order from this company. Call directly to a local florist.
Ordered flowers for my mom for Christmas. The arrangement was supposed to be in a cute, short, circular red vase but got a tall cylindrical vase. The arrangement was missing babies breath, swapped a stick in there to replace it and the greenery that was swapped was just some cedar branches. The filler looked like something I could just pick outside. Getting a hold of someone over the phone was nearly impossible. They also delivered it a day after the delivery was set for.
My friend sent me flowers recently. She got a text that they delivered them but I never received them. After much back and forth between she and Avis and I and Avis they agreed to send again.
They sent with overnight UPS delivery, but they weren't picked up for a day and arrived after five days. Needless to say the flowers were very dead and very stinky. They went into the trash. This is the third time friends have sent me flowers from Avis Flowers aka 1-800-Flowers and the flowers were dead upon arrival. I would never recommend this company.
Avas are not "local" as they claimed and my order of flowers did not arrive at the funeral as intended. When I phoned and tried to get more information I was constantly put on hold. Eventually the ceremony started WITHOUT my flowers arriving, then they called my cell phone numerous times DURING the funeral. It was a total disaster.
While we did get a refund on the expedited delivery fee and a 20% discount. Their picture shows three balloons one of which should have been a Mylar Happy Birthday balloon. They were delivered three days late with only one pink balloon. The quality of the flowers looked like they had been around for a few days prior to delivery.
Don't waste your money! I purchased flowers and chocolates for my sister's birthday! Spent extra $$$ for "LUXURY GRADE" to be delivered on December 31st. Was advised it would be delivered between Dec 30th and 31st. Ordered was delivered at 9:20pm on Dec 31st- Ridiculous! Tried checking on the order/ calling numerous times during the day - Their customer service is unreachable, non-existent. See image below for the HALF-DEAD flowers received versus "LUXURY FLOWERS" ordered. Will never order from avasflowers again.
Worst service ever, will never order from them again, flowers were never delivered and I got a message say we're, never got them They are scammers
I didn't read the website information carefully enough and thought I was ordering from an actual local florist or that they would at least hire a florist. They have their system set up to pop up no matter what city you type in to search for florists. Anyway, they didn't even use a florist -- they hired somebody to fetch flowers from Safeway! They are really expensive for any flowers, but Safeway flowers? Give me a break. Would you pay $100 for this? Just two globs of flowers stuck into either side of a vase with no interest or care given to any kind of arrangement. Just the kind of thing you'd grab at the grocery store, which is what they did despite their assertion that they were assigning "talented designers" to replicate the advertised flowers. Ordinary and disappointing at best. I've attached a screen shot of the flowers as advertised.
I called to have a holiday box delivered to my mother-in-law. Prior to that I thought I had called a local business but he had tried to contact me to tell me he could not fulfill the order. I did not receive this, called him and found out he did not service the area. In a panic, I did a search for someone who delivered there. Ava's came up and since I didn't have time, I did not research it. Big mistake. Ad said free delivery, so that was a plus. Went through pages of products, found something I liked and went to order. On the approval page, they charged a "service fee" which was more than twice the delivery fee! Being that I wanted the order there days ago, I just approved it.
To make a long story, they indicated the order was delivered, the recipient looked all over the property and asked her neighbors if they received it and found nothing. I called, they stated it had not been delivered and would take care of it. After three times of they would fulfill the order, I lost it.
They have told me they have credited my account for the full amount but that remains to be seen.
I wish I would have read reviews on this site, consumer affairs, Better Business bureau, and no doubt many others about this scam business. They pop up when you're looking for a local florist but they're not local. They were sued by the state of New Jersey for a variety of offenses including no deliveries, no cancellations, no refunds, grossly under delivering, etc. Almost all of which I've experienced. They apparently specialize in taking people's money and not delivering or if delivering, the pictures of flowers actually delivered compared to what the website promises are quite striking. Luckily I never got to that point but I am still waiting for a refund after 4 days of promises by their out of country customer disservice representatives who specialize in rote apologies. I am prepared to file a fraud claim with my credit union if I don't get a refund in order to get my money back by tomorrow. The best option for ordering flowers not locally is to call a local florist and talk to someone and have them do it. It's a much safer alternative.
I ordered flowers on the 22nd. I was sent an invoice that it would be delivered by the 23rd or 24th. By Christmas my friend still hadn't received her flowers. I finally got through to someone who said that they're on their way. I said it's a little late. I want to refund. After waiting on a really long time I asked to speak to a supervisor. 45 mins later. I got a refund and they canceled the flower shipment. They're a real class act I would never ever order from them again and so I am giving this review. And the supervisor had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to order another set of flowers for half off. Warning don't order from them.
When I ordered from Avas Florist I thought it was ordering from them, I was not, they give your information to a 3rd party florist. I ordered a bouquet of flowers and a heathy gift basket for a family member. They delivered two bouquets of flowers. It took multiple calls and filling out paperwork to get a response. They did finally deliver the gift basket, but we had to give back one of the bouquets. You would think they would let you keep both bouquets because of the inconvenience. I would never order from them again. If you do order from them, make sure you read their refund policy.
2 years in a row messed up Christmas orders for elderly grandparents. Gave them a second chance... messed it up again! Offered 15% discount and resend at new years. What a joke! Use a local florist Ava's is terrible cannot send pictures because they never received the orders. Had get different local florist. Would reccomed them for a hamsters funeral
Ordered on12/22@ 930am for same day delivery. Christmas arrangement fir my daughter. I order the $65 size. Total was $160, I said why, I have free delivery. Final was $108, still too much, but i did it. The flowers chose were beautiful. Received text to call, could not make my delivery. I tried to cancel, they woukd not allow. Told it would be delivered next day. It was by 530pm. Received $30 refund. Flowers came in a vase too small for the flowers, no ribbon, no pretty Christmas decorations as in the picture. Looked like someone went to a supermarket, bought flowers, dropped then in a small glass and delivered. This is a fake company, not family owned, its a scam. I am embarrassed I fell for it. My payment is being disputed. NEVER ORDER FOR THIS SCAM COMPANY.
Horrible company. I will never deal with them again. I pay $105 for some dead flowers. They delivered half dead flowers and I paid for large and got small. I ask for a re delivery and they say we will credit you $15. I say no I want them re sent and they say tomorrow they will do it but the job is closed because of the snow storm we have and then Christmas so I tell them that and they say Monday won't work so here we are I'm out $105 my wife now has some should be beautiful flowers that are half dead. I'll never use or recommend you guys agin. Merry Christmas
The orchid I ordered for a birthday gift to a friend was absolutely gorgeous! Lots of blooms and buds for more blooms! Spectacular color (purple) and overall beautiful! She loved it! Thank you!
Answer: Scam! They are not a local company, they cannot deliver, and if they do, apparently they are completely wrong or dead flowers. They don't want to deliver flowers for you... they are after your $30 service fee. They hope you cancel your order and they keep the fee. STAY CLEAR! No customer service and a website full of legalese... can you appear any more fraudulent? A scam, a fraud, a company that uses COVID-19 and your mother (Mother's Day) to steal money from the public. They need to be in jail.
Answer: You cannot. Their number is an automated attendant that hangs up on you and email is unmonitored. This is a scam.
Answer: Sometimes easy and quick is mot the way to go when it comes to a loved one. I learned my lesson.
