I see that positive reviews were given here by the auction.com employees. I purchased a house from them and by the time I fixed it the cost was much higher than if I would buy from the owner house in good shape. I had many issues with the company - no replies to my multiple emails, ignoring calls, requests for money upfront, they place bids on their properties the second it goes online so if the add states "starting bid $******* the second it open you will see current bid at $160,000. And remember - those are the properties nobody want because people know about hidden issues and auction.com will not tell you. I repeat - THOSE ARE THE PROPERTIES NOBODY WANTS BECAUSE OF HIDDEN ISSUES AND AUCTION.COM WILL NEVER TELL YOU.
My questions were answered very quickly and professionally.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
I signed up to bid on Auction.com as I saw an interesting property. I finally placed a bid the Seller could live with, and the deal was closed. I immediately moved funds to be made available for closing, sent Auction.com their "Good Faith Deposit" (almost $6000) in cash, and started to fill out the Contract sent by my Contract Specialist.
Then the problems began.
I had hired an inspector to go look at the property. While his report was generally favorable, he found out:
1. There was a huge 40 yd dumpster on the property and the Container company wants almost $1000 to remove it
2. There is a lien on the property for almost $4000 for past-due HOA fees
3. There are substantial monthly (undisclosed) HOA fees!
4. There is an open trailer on the property filled with rainsoaked home contents
The property is filled with garbage (not in the web site pictures)!
I called my "Contract Specialist". For WEEKS. I sent him emails. FOR WEEKS.
He FINALLY responded. I told him I had major problems. He sent me a new contract and said to sign it THAT DAY. When I got it, it had NO addendum addressing any of the issues.
When I wouldn't sign it, they washed out the entire deal and said it was MY fault.
STAY AWAY! By the time you find out the truth about what you're buying they stop talking. Major hidden issues. Find a more reputable auction company.
It is important to conduct your due diligence beforehand. Our properties are being offered as is, where is. Be sure to check the property details page to learn as much as you can. You can drive by the outside to take photos and observe the neighborhood. We also advise you to order a Preliminary Title Report. In most cases the seller is allowed to place bids for his/hers own selling event.
Why not just start the auction at the minimum price the seller is willing to sell?
This is a wide spread technique on this site. Very unfair in my opinion...
Thank you for your review. Counter bidding is a common practice used by all major auction houses. Auction.com will counter bid on behalf of the seller in order to move the price closer to the Reserve Price, which is the minimum that a seller will typically accept. She answered all my questions quick and to the point! What a great asset you have. Do not let her go! Give her a raise and a better parking spot asap, so that she stays and gets to do her job faster. Your company needs a clone army of this customer service rep right here! It would be worth your time to clone an army of her and raise them to help your future customers! A+++

Auction.Com has a good interface and very responsive. As a first time user with Auction.Com, I had some questions.
Able to start the chart immediately with no waiting. Agent was very responsive and knowledgeable.
This wasn't my first contact with Tyler, I first reached out via telephone and he went above and beyond to answer my questions. After getting off the phone I realized I had another question, and thinking that the office would be closed I reached out via online chat. Tyler quickly answered my question and continued to make my experience thus far with auction.com exceptional.

The person helping me via chat was great. They answered all of my questions and then some. You could tell they really wanted to help and didn't rush you as some chats do. They were great!

Agent was quick to answer my question. Better than calling the phone number. I could not find the answer to my question over the phone, but the chat feature answered it quickly.
