AT&T Reviews Summary

The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. While there are occasional mentions of product reliability, the overwhelming sentiment indicates that customers feel neglected and undervalued. This pattern points to a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service protocols and enhance accountability to regain consumer trust.

I have had international call/texting for several months now and have yet to find ANYONE at AT&T that can tell me how to call or text on my cell phone using this service. Searching the web all I come up with is how to call from across the pond to the US, nothing about how to call from here.
And with calling the CS number is a JOKE! Phone queue after phone queue listening to a Damn machine, does nothing but push the limits of my medication. WISE UP ATT, keep pissing your customers off and they'll leave!

Liars
July 20, 2020

DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU about promotions if you transfer service. I was told by three different people that if I transferred my phone service from Sprint my bill would be at least $50 cheaper. Come the day I transferred, I was told I'm actually now paying $50 MORE than I was with Sprint. I was bounced around to person after person and department after department and all anyone could say is 'oh I'm sorry you were given that misinformation'. Now I have to go through the headache of transferring our phone plan BACK to Sprint and getting a new internet provider. I hope you enjoy that 300 bucks, AT&T, because it's about to cost you $100 a month in perpetuity when I dump your internet service for good.

AT&T lies to the media and to their customers - during covid with my daughter and husband now working from home our internet bill was over $400/mo. Called AT&T many times, no help. "i'll check with my manager and get back with you" NOTHING "Oh yes $500 wireless internet bill is too high, I will see to it that you get a credit" NOTHING. Thanks for NOTHING AT&T! I will never be back!

This service doesn't even deserve one star. We have been with AT&T for 30 years, and we decided back in 2017 that we were going to try out U-Verse. It went well for the first three months, until our system went out. We had 5 different technicians come to our home, until finally one told us that the problem wasn't with us it was with the surrounding area. U-Verse wouldn't be in our area for a while, and so we decided to cancel our service so that we could have TV and Internet. Moving forward to present day, I checked my credit score and it went down 30 POINTS because a bill from October of 2017 that I just found out today July 2020 was charged for my first month payment. I have been on the phone for a total of 10 hours with collection and probably every department at AT&T and no one can take this random, bogus charge off of my account. I thought that I had solved this problem a year ago after being on the phone for a total of 34 hours trying to fix this issue, but as of yesterday it seems like no one did anything. Even after being in service with them for 30 years, no one would give us the decency to help and fix this issue. This is unacceptable, and if you are thinking of moving to AT&T service, don't. We plan on canceling everything through them and moving somewhere else, even after being apart of their company for, once again, 30 YEARS. Terrible. I have never missed a bill in all of that time, and they are destroying my credit without blinking an eye. It's sad that this happens to people who try to do the right thing.

I've been an AT&T customer for 11 years due to Covid lost my job for three months fell behind they sent me an email to offer 50% off my bill and then reneged and said they never sent it a month later sent the same email again offered me 50% off and denied sending it now they're calling me with collections taking the shut off my service. I treated about the experience and they were quick to reply because I was on social media but now 24 hours later no one has responded back but I still get automated calls from AT&T threatening to shut off my service. They don't care about their customers they don't care about how long you've been with them and apparently they don't care what happened during Covid. I would never ever ever recommend AT&T again to anyone

ATT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS! Been WITH THEM SINCE July 3rd AND HAD TO CALL 22 TIMES SO FAR! I HAVE ONLY HAD THREE OUT OF OUR FOUR PHONE LINES TRANSFER OVER FROM VERIZON. PROBABLY SPENT AT LEAST FIVE HOURS TRYING TO DEAL WITH THIS. MY TIME AND STRESS DOESN'T MATTER TO THEM...

Horrible, worse company ever. Do not get AT&T for anthing. I have Direct Tv/WiFi (mind you I have BASIC channels) I have to watch movies on Netflix. My bill will jump from $120 to $400 anytime for no reason. Back in May I had to create a payment plan to get out a $400 bill, June it was back down to $80, now we're in July and it's back to $400 FOR NO REASON! Scammers! And to top it off my Contract was renewed for another year without my consent

Do not use AT&T
July 8, 2020

We bought outright our iPhone from AT&T and signed up for the auto payment. Everything worked fine until 3 months later when they started using an old CC that had been turned off after someone stole our number. I went online and made sure the correct card was set as default, but then I had to pay the extra $5. Because I had to manually pay it. Then next month they did it again, so my husband called and customer service said that it was paid in full until the next month and yes it was being billed to the new number. Then we get a notice that it didn't get paid again so I went online again and canceled all the CCs that were there and put only the correct one in, which showed that it was still the default one that they should be using. Again it got declined because they were using the old number. I called customer service again and they showed that they had the correct CC, but said I would have to still pay the extra $5 even though they were at fault. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they refused, said there wasn't one that could talk to me. I told them if they knocked off the $5 fee that I would stay with them. NOPE. I asked them to unlock the phone so that I could change companies. They said they would. Over 6 months later and they still refuse to unlock phone!
Bottom line... do not use them!

They lie to you
They have no customer service
They insult you
Their online site never works so you are forced to call and wait forever for an operator

DO NOT USE AT&T
July 8, 2020

This is the worst company to have for any service. Many years ago I had them for my internet and long story short they kept trying to charge me for things I did not have. After several months of calling and telling them I would not pay for these charges, I finally found someone willing to help me and take them all off. Well, here we are a few years later and I chose to give them another chance (stupid me). I got their cell service just a few moths ago. When I was getting my new phone they told me that I could get a screen protector that I could get replaced for free, well I found out this is not true. Then all of a sudden they again, started charging me for bogus things. When I called (and spent over an hour on the phone with them) they told me a manager would call me back. Well, it has been two days and I am on hold again trying to reach them. I will never use this company again!

We were trained to ATT for years, and finally made the move to t-mobile. Their phone reps are terribly trained, the website always seems to have some kind of error, the app is ridiculous to navigate. I can't believe we have them money for so long, especially after finding out people on other carriers were paying half what we were for MORE benefits. My first 24 hours with T Mobile has been a dream. Perfect customer service, great site, AWESOME price.

Ridiculous Service
July 3, 2020

Someone contacted me, whether someone who works for ATT or an independent contractor, stating that they wanted to give me a FREE upgrade with no additional costs. I was actually going to cancel my account then, but I took the offer. HOWEVER, they did not express a charge for installation or extending my contract, which I would have NEVER agreed to because I was unsatisfied with the service, but only because they offered a free upgrade, I wanted to give ATT another chance. Then they charged me with over $300 in set-up fee's and now they're telling me that my contract has been extended. I don't mind paying the fee. It's the principle. As a business owner, this is very low-level customer service and I have been a loyal customer for many years now. I do not recommend ATT.

Randall Stephenson needs to fix AT&T's damn Cell Service! He's worried about police reform? He needs to worry about why Verizon is kicking his rear end. You guys claim to be the best? It's laughable! I have 1 bar in a metropolitan city and get 4 bars in the back woods. Seriously! Worry about giving better service and less about Police Reform. If I didn't have to have AT&T for work, I wouldn't have it at all. Worst cell service in America!

ZERO Rating
July 2, 2020

If I could give it a zero rating, I would. They have the worst customer service with no heart. We have been fighting for the incorrect billing numbers past 5 months and still they did not resolved it. Each time we call them they lie about what they talked earlier and dont make notes in the account. We had to repeat the same story over and over and over each time. They dont have recorded sessions nor a legal department to talk to. They pulled us into a promotion for third line saying it will reduce our bill and when we checked out invoice, our bill increased. We returned the third line with in 14 days and we called them to cancel the line. They did not cancel the line nor made notes. When we checked back with them in a month after we saw the bill again, they say we did not return the phone and they charged us for 3 months even though the store talked to them saying we returned the phone. They cancelled the line after 3 months but no credit yet. BIG LIARS! PLEASE DONT SIGNUP FOR ATT.

I had AT&T Uverse internet at my old apartment. The speed was extremely slow and AT&T said they were not going to fix it because the box that provided the service was really old. Yet, they were happy to take my $40 each month. I moved to a new place and set up AT&T to move my service. They told me the service would be lightning-fast at my new place and everything would be ready for me there. They said just take your U-Verse box and plug it in. When I got to my new place, nothing worked. I was on the phone with AT&T for 2 days. They couldn't figure out why nothing was working. Finally, on the 2nd day, I was told my service was cancelled because a rep sold me a service that didn't exist. Nice work, AT&T.
I have gone to another provider and am happy with them. I will never do business with AT&T ever again.
And, on my final AT&T bill, they raised my rates. I am sorry I ever did business with them.
