AT&T is consistently without fail one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with (this is including insurance companies). Every SINGLE time I've dealt with them, they've provided AWFUL service and equally AWFUL customer service.

Most recently, I moved into a new apartment to find it that exclusively offers AT&T as the internet service provider. I knew things were going to be a headache from that first moment and I was right.

Moving into the apartment, I was told by property management that AT&T is pre-installed and every wall jack in the apartment should have access to Fiber internet at the speed of your choosing.

Not only did only ONE wall jack work correctly, but their WiFi gateway was borderline broken: we purchased 1 GB up/down, WiFi from 10 feet away was at 125 down, 85 up. After talking to 2 AT&T service reps, we were basically told that not only was it not their fault WE'D have to pay to have a tech come out. Once the tech came, he told me there'd be an ADDITIONAL charge to get each wall jack working. So overall we had to pay over $250 for service that should have already been done prior to moving into the apartment.

AT&T has shown time and time again that they are truly a deceitful and unaccountable corporation that really couldn't give a damn about their customers. I hope I never have to deal with AT&T EVER AGAIN.

So I thought that I could save a few bucks and switch from VZW to ATT. Worst decision ever! First off, you can't contact ATT and expect to spend 10 or 15 minutes on the phone. Every call to ATT customer service is at least 1 hour, if not longer. Every call is scripted B. S.! After several issues with trying to get my new ATT account up and running I got so frustrated that I canceled the order and closed my new account. Now I had just received three new phones that I needed to return so I got a RA# and a return label and shipped them off. All three phones, in the same box. Three weeks later I get a bill from ATT showing that I only returned two of three phones and that I owed them almost $500! I then contacted customer service via chat and after an hour the representative said that the bill was sent by mistake and not to worry about it. I was also told that my account had a $0 balance and it was closed. I requested this in writing and received an email confirming this. Two weeks later I notice a charge on my bank statement from ATT for $468! Called again (yes, another 90 minute call) and was told that they would have to "investigate" the situation even though I had proof of recent customer service chat. So now I must wait two weeks for this investigation to conclude and lord only knows what will happen after that. There was more awful customer service that has taken place with ATT but I am running out of space to post. Just do yourself and your blood pressure a favor and do not deal with ATT no matter how much money you think you can save. You can't put a price tag on sanity.

Terrible company
March 18, 2021

On November 5,2020 I upgraded a phone line with at&t wireless during a promotional period where a trade in would result in a billing credit equal to $800 applied over the course of 30 months. The trade in was completed and confirmed by at&t's trade in department as received in the correct warehouse on December 30,2020. When I still had not received the billing credit by the end of January the trade in department instructed me that it would be processed any day and just continue to check back. The trade in had still not been processed by the end of February and after pushing the issue with at&t they agreed to submit a form the would resolve the issue in 48 hours. The problems really began after this with representatives that would hang up on me and refuse to answer my questions. The issue is still not resolved after escalating the claim to the highest department available and submitting more forms to correct the issue. An ICU form was submitted on 3/4 and should have resolved by 3/9. I still cannot get a consistent response and the problem still has not been resolved. Terrible company to steal $800 from their customer, no accountability, terrible way to treat customer of over 20 years.

Nothing but Lies and headaches. NEVER EVER AGAIN. I will send smoke signals before considering them ever. Started with Billing issues, over-charges, promises and lies. $99 plan become $168/mo and then the promo - trade your phone for $800 credit. Was billed every month for new device I did not need but accepted because of promo.
Assured 3 times it would drop off and was given a $220 credit for a NEW Iphone 10X. Assured the $800 is coming. Got billed again to be told I needed to upgrade and its too late- $220 is what I get and I had someone who offered me $500 cash for it, and I told her I can get $800 from At&T.
This was the last straw. They already lost a 12 year direct TV customer for which they will never see me again for TV service also. My other phone was fully paid for.
MARK MY WORD- DO NOT TRUST THEM... They are smooth talking, false compassionate con-artists and need to be investigated for their many illegal practices!

Att tv is the worse
March 9, 2021

If you want a good provider for cable with decent customer service do not go through att tv now. I went through so much stress with this company and had to get the fcc involved to handle the situation.

First, they all the sudden was unable to process my payment. I called and gave them more then three alternate ways and none would work for various reasons and no one could help me. Finally, I asked to be sent an address to have a check cut. Two days go by and I see it's cashed to att mobility. I thought it was strange because I have their cable service and not a phone through them. I let the payment go through and even gave them a few days. They never credited my account. Finally I called and this is where it got hairy. I informed them of what was going on and they told me they don't accept checks and that was for my mobile phone. I explained my situation and they put me on hold for an hour and hung up then sent me an email threatening to cut off service. At this point I am freaking out and call them, try to chat with them to no avail. A month and over 20 hours go by with me dealing with these people lying, dropping my calls or putting me on hold for the simple request of account cancelation.

I spend OVER 20 HOURS OF MY LIFE TRYING TO CANCEL.

Finally I get in touch with the fcc and low and behold the president of the company finally cancels my account and credits me my 80 dollars and waives the early termination fee. He didn't even seem to care nor be surprised that I went through so much stress due to his poorly trained reps.

Please, save yourself the heartache and go through someone else. I recommend YouTube TV for cord cutters.

I wish I could save every consumer from this horrible service. I'd even sue if I had the money because the company was that negligent

Paid $300 on a past due account. AT&T said they would turn on the internet and landline. Over 2 hours on the phone with customer service and they still would not reconnect the internet and landline - what a waste of my time. AT&T is incompetent.

AT&T without any prior warning increased the Bill. Called AT&T and asked them why you breached the contract, 6 months short from the expiration date. They said we have the right to increase the bill in an active contract, but you have no right to terminate the contract without paying the early termination fee. Are there rules? There are no rules. Looks like we have infinitely large freedom, but infinitely small rights if not able to hire a good lawyer. Lesson learned.
First – never use Auto-Pay to avoid duplicate, or fraudulent billing for fabricated fees, during the service and after canceling the service.
Second – Avoid the landline phone from the bundle. Using magic jack I pay only $3 a month compared with $40 a month with AT&T. Using a good noise filter, with a 3 ft short phone line for the main phone set, connected 3 wireless phones around my home I have a better sound quality than with AT&T.
Third – If you are not far from TV broadcasting antenna, use an indoor antenna. I am able to receive 52 crisp channels with an indoor antenna.
Forth – With chromacast and a designated $100 laptop, you can stream more than with AT&T.

Worst company ever
February 21, 2021

Worst company ever. Customer service is awful. I returned a phone that sat in the warehouse and was charged monthly for 3 months. Then when I canceled my account and switched providers they charged me for the full phone even though they did receive it. Then they charged me a month phone payment saying it wasn't returned in 14 days even though it was. I have been on dozens of chats and phone calls. This has been the worst experience with a company ever. Do not recommend.

I didn't think there was a wireless company that had worse customer service than Verizon. I was wrong. The customer service is so poor, I couldn't even imagine how anyone could keep service with this company. I have tried for over the course of two days to get help with an order I placed. I get told they can't help. I get transferred to automated lines that disconnect me. I ask for a supervisor and get hung up on I just want my order cancelled and my money back.

AT&T internet is 3mbps max in West Hollywood CA, do not even bother calling them.
I've suffered with their inadequate service for years because the cable from the only other provider needed to be reinstalled & it was a hassle in my building. I finally made the time to deal with it. The cable provider is the only other choice and my speed is now 164mbps.

West Hollywood does not have fiber so you absolutely will not get fast speeds from AT&T, don't let them tell you otherwise.

After being on the phone on and off with them from 4:30 pm-8pm I'm always told wait times where 3.5 mins longest I was on hold was 2 hours (I did other things while waiting to see) but every time some one from CS would pass me off to tech who would then pass me on to loyalty who would then put me on hold then hang up every time I'm just trying to get internet hooked up y'all but I guess I'll be going with my only other option and that that's buckeye cause I can't get spectrum where I'm at

Cell phone
February 3, 2021

We had our cell phone service with them for over 10 years. We paid $150 a month for 2 phone lines, phones were paid for. I called 3 times to try to get a better plan and was refused. We switched our plan to a different carrier on 12/31/2020. Now I am being billed $152 by AT&T for services 12/23-1/23-2021. I called customer service to get the bill adjusted so I could pay it and close the account and I was told they do not pro-rate their bills. So basically we are paying $152 for 7 days of cell phone service. Just one last time for AT&T to screw us! Never use them! Horrible customer service!

Awful Experience
January 29, 2021

If I could give AT&T zero stars I would. I have been using this service for a few years and I'm constantly having issues with my data plan. Every time I try to call 611 to talk to a representative I never actually get to talk to someone that is helpful they are completely useless and don't have knowledge on it. I've read a lot of other reviews with people agreeing with me and all I can say is they are in awful phone service. My data plan ran out so I had to call them unfortunately no one was able to help me at so with no service or Wi-Fi I had to walk to a convenient store to get a prepaid card and even then it was very difficult to start it. I hate it a lot and makes me sad they can't help their customers. Switching plans ASAp anything is better than AT&T at this point

Trying to unlock my new iPhone 12, bought it through ATT, but unable to unlock was able to unlock iPhone 8 with no problem. I did this because I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. I did not plan on leaving. Called the service after being on hold for 30 min, I drove to the local ATT store. They refused to help me sighting the only reason I unlocking it was to move it over the ATT network. They said they were there to bring in new business, not send it away. Well, guess what, I'm out of here, along with my internet, I have always had problem with ATT service.

This company is dishonest! They never do what they say. I was told I would not be charged for installation and my bill would be 35 per month for internet! I paid 50 per month and they charged me installation. I had to fight for months before they credit my account but I never paid the rate I was promised when I signed a year contract. Then after a year contract they charged me $80 for 3 days of service, refused to prorate my service, and threatened to send me to collections! They are horrible!

Absolutely AWFUL
January 15, 2021

AT&T has the WORST customer service! Do NOT switch to them! I switched to them 8 months ago and traded in my iPhone X and have spent the past 8 months calling them and spending 90-120 minutes EACH call attempting to get credit for my iPhone X I traded in. They bounce you around and their FB messenger is a joke. I have no resolution- they basically STOLE MY IPHONE
