Unnecessary charges and poor customer service
I went overseas, text stating international data, called AT&T who assured no charges are being processed. Got changed $356. Filed a dispute, denied dispute because worker failed to document why the dispute was submitted. Asked for supervisor who states his supervisor is the one who can process refunds who is in a meeting and will call back. But supervisor agreed and acknowledged AT&T error. NO call back so I called back in. Informed I need to contact international department. International filed another dispute and offered 1/2 $178 refund. I refused 1/2 and ask for a supervisor. Supervisor wouldn't hear me out before yelling and hanging up on me. After many years of business I am DONE WITH AT&T
This is one of those companies with shady predatory greedy practices. They asked me if I wanted protection plan for my old phone, I said no thank you, they charged me $40 for it. Even when I said I didn't want it. It took me an hour just to cancel the damn thing that I didn't sign up for in the first place.
The problem is they are too big for anyone to do anything about this.

Terrible service they only know how to transfer calls 6-7-8 times until they lose you, the goal.
I spent few times around hour each times to try to chat with support, but is is horrible. I couldn't see my service numbers in Chrome, FireFox, and finally 3rd person told me to use Opera. It is not even funny. Is it real? They can't hire normal programmers, who will write website for cross browser? Later I tried again to connect with they support, but it was even worse. I was on the line for 15 min, and after the robot told me you are the next, they disconnected chat and again I was in the waiting mode something like for 20 min. I think I should move from this company, to the some else, any suggestions?
AT&T seems to have little success in improving client services for their Wireless service, also called Mobility service, Monthly bills were showing by my bank but nothing whatsoever to be found on the AT&T web site. I spent three hours over two days on text and voice chats with their techs. Many directed tries on my desktop yielded no access. I was to provide the account number but my knowing it was barred. Any information about my account was barred by federal law, even though I have been a party to the contract. Then they did give me the account number after two hours and a special phone number to call, where after more of the same I was given yet another phone number to call. That agent took me through many steps on my desktop so now I can readily access the information about the service and its terms.
There is no way to shut off charges if your fone is stolen or lost, customer service wont do anything and the att stores cant do anything, the only way is to just stop paying them, then your credit score takes a hit, such a dismal experience
I have been dealing with this company for a couple years now hoping it will get better, lol no chance of that EVER happening. I paid my bill on the 6th and somehow they can charge me $35 for restoring my internet on the 6th. IT WAS NEVER CUTOFF! And all they can say is "it was suspended but you didn't notice it". Really? I guess that means they can charge that $35 whenever they want since you won't notice your alleged suspension. Unfortunately my area has no other internet provider so I'm stuck with this rip off company. If you have a choice in providers DO NOT choose this one.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Ruebeling and I was a long standing customer of AT&T for MANY years. I decided to switch services due to better G's and pricing. I was told upon cancellation that everything was paid upon completion of my contract. I was then billed. When I called and spoke to the manager "Rebecca (not sure if that is the correct spelling), she insisted that I pay even though I said her employee didn't tell me that I owed anything. She would not waive the fee. I'm sorry, but if I owned a business, I would never ethically do that to a long standing customer who actually liked the service and had a great experience. Now, I'm upset and I don't appreciate the way it was handled. I hope this will teach AT&T that they need to train their employees to mention all details to their customers. If not, they can destroy a relationship with someone who was loyal and had nothing but good things to say about AT&T. I have Integrity and Morals. This is not right.

Online services are dismal. Telephone service during working hours is difficult as they're not knowledgeable, helpful or solution oriented. We've tried Cox and they're not great either. We were hopeful for AT&T but are wearing thin...
What a nightmare! Purchased two phones in March. Paid service fees and activation in store. Signed up for service for two phones and insurance on both devises. Got my bill and saw they were trying to charge me the activation fee again along with $70 dollars in other misc fees that no one can explain to me. My bill is $341 for two phones? Called customer service, nothing accomplished. Went to the store and spoke to Trevor the guy Who originally signed me up for everything. He sat there patiently with me and billing on speaker phone. Supposedly fixed everything. Left went home. I'm a kayak tour guide. Over the weekend my phone fell in the water. Called AT&T to get a replacement. Was directed to their third party insurance company. The third party pulled my account and told me "you do not have insurance on this devise". They directed me back to AT&T. Called AT&T and get the automatic first response of "your account has an excessive balance". I just supposedly fixed all that Friday and made my payment $130. Please note I've already made my first payment in April for $135... so this isn't a case of skipped payment. I have been hung up on several times and sent to the wrong department when asking to speak to a manager. They refuse to let me speak to a manager. I have spoke to Miguel, Tiara and Raina. My daughters phone now has no access to cellar data and I cannot process the insurance claim because the third party shows I do not have insurance. I have called 15 times today trying to resolve the issue. It still is not resolved! I am so incredibly disappointed with AT&T and strongly discourage anyone who is considering going with their service. I am now going to cancel my service completely and go somewhere else. What an awful inconvenience to have to get all new devises, transfer all our info and reverify all my accounts for personal and work on the new devises when I just did it all in March! This was an all day horrible experience and now I have to do this again tomorrow.

Let me add they have now put the 4 device insurance back on my account. I only have 2 devices. This was done with out concent for the second time.
I have been calling ATNT for seven months, every single month about my credit for upgrading to a new phone. Two upgrades and 7 months later no credit. They keep you on the phone forever and absolutely nothing in return. I even threatened to cancel my account and they were more than happy to provide me with a payoff instead of coming up with a solution. Terrible!
I stayed with AT&T for almost 20 years and finally had it with their worse than poor customer service.
I canceled my service on 8 lines. I paid my phones off canceled my service and they still charged me another billing cycle. Their response was 2 the lines went to the fraud department. I spoke with 3 managers who all argued the charges were valid for one day on two lines. I switched to Verizon and must say the customer service far exceeds AT&T. The representative in the Loyalty Department at AT&T acknowledged they must have really screwed up for me to transfer 6 lines.
Buyer beware... after 18 years with AT&T I switched finally to Verizon a few months ago. I'm so glad I did. Never again!
I would have given 0 stars to this company if I would have the option to. I switched to AT&T after seeing a promotion at BJs for $700 off for iPhone 12 if I switched phone service to At&T. I called At&T and was told that I could trade in two iPhones 8 plus for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. I was told by sales representative that I could use the boxes that our new phones were shipped to send back to to At&T our two iPhones 8 Plus for the trade in. Sales representative never mentioned that I should keep a tracking number for the shipping of the 2 iPhone 8 Plus that I sent to AT&T. I signed with At&T 5 months ago. I still haven't received the credit for the two iPhones I traded in. I have called At&T 4 times and kept on the line for more than one hour. They keep telling me that they can't locate the phones I sent for trade in so they can't give me the credit for the trade in. They tell me that I should provide a tracking number for the shipment of iPhones I sent for the trade in. This was never mentioned when I signed in. In my experience as a customer I have returned many items/merchandise I had purchased from different companies with their return labels. I have never ever been asked for a tracking number of my return shipment and merchandise has always arrived at final destination. This is the first time that a company tells me they can't locate an item that was sent to them in the box they provided me with for shipment. I can't believe they haven't received my phones because it has never happened to me in the past with other companies. This is only their way to deceive the customer and not honor the trade in. The most deceptive company I have ever had the experience to deal with. Please don't fall prey of their deceptive and gotcha practices. Stay as far away as you can from this company.
Avoid At&t at all costs! Horrible customer service, no follow through, they give excuses non stop. Just avoid them. No one in their customer service department speaks English so good luck trying to explain any of your issues to them.
They tricked me to change my plan: used to pay $ 205. Every month, and now I am paying $285.
I have been speaking with so many "costumer specialists" that have no problem lying over and over until I see the new bill the following month: Then, story begins all over again.

Answer: Terrible service, this is the worst service I've ever had. Canceled all services with this company after my customer service experience. Customer service is horrible, their service in general is horrible, and they don't offer anything I can't get at any other competitors store. I wouldn't recommend service or work with this company, they are discriminatory and bias. All they do is take advantage of you and try to sell you stuff that you don't need so they can raise their commission. If you want to be serviced by a bunch of dilettantes, this is the place for you, bad service, work, and experience, Joshua at legacy village has terrible customer service experience.
Answer: At this point I am so disgusted with a T and T your customer service skills are horrible they don't help you out they keep transferring you to different departments just to get you off the phone they do not like to resolve problems and promises that they made they do not keep their promises they get you into getting into their products and getting their commission and then they screw you out of what they promise you I do advise anybody to go through a TNT they are lousy
