They suck!
November 14, 2023

Assurance shut my phone off for non usage. I used my phone 100 times a day and my activity was all there, on my account profile, under usage. I called them so many times over a month of not hacing a ohone to use. They told me they were sending me an upgraded phone, free if charge for all the trouble itt was causing me. They sent me a downgraded phone that doesn't have work worth a crap and the settings keep changing. They also keep messing with my ACP benefits, who I was using with Spectrum, not them. Every other month they end up de enrolling me from ACP and so my Sowctrum bill kreeps goung up and 8 ended up having to re apply for ACO again and again. They suck! And they lie!

Phone would die out despite being fully charged within a week of receiving phone. They said they wouldn't replace it. Then phone totally died and would not replace it unless I pay $20 for shipping! What reputable company do that on a obviously defective product? And this was through the ACP program on my state that gives poor people the capability to have a connection for drs and my case neighbor and sister and they requested $20. After reading the rest of the reviews I am glad I didn't because I would have another broken phone and less $20.

I called assurance wireless today I simply asked for my money back. But they said no I am going to sue assurance wireless I hope they get their doors closed they are stealing money off of my account that I closed 3 months ago they sent me a phone that only worked for a week and then they had enough guts to ask me to pay $25 for shipping. On a new replacement cell phone. The government needs to shut the doors on assurance wireless. Why are assurance wireless still in business. They needed to close their doors as soon as they opened their doors back in 2000. They promised me a Samsung. They promised me a Motorola g. And they promised me a iPhone which they lied I didn't see any of that coming to my house. I have left assurance wireless. And got with a good company a much better company. And I am very happy and satisfied. If you are reading this assurance wireless. I hope you are if your doors get closed. It would be nobody fault but yours

SCREWED

PROS. YOU GET MORE DATA THAN ACCESS WIRELESS
CONS: HAD TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO GET INTO VOICE MAIL.
YOU GET A SCHOCK PHONE. IT HAS E SIM SO YOU CAN'T GET A SIM CARD TO PUT INTO YOUR IPHONE 12 OR LESS.
YOU CANNOT BUY A PHONE AT THE APPLE STORE OR T MOBILE BECAUSE IT WON'T WORK WITH ASSURANCE.
THERE ARE NO IPHONE 12 PLUS ON THEIR SITE TO BUY. YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT TILL JAN. 2024 TO SEE IF THEY WILL HAVE IPHONE 13-15 AVAILABLE IF THEY UPGRADE THEIR SYSTEM.
MEANTIME YOU'RE STUCK USING THIS SCHOCK PHONE THAT HAS HORRIBLE VIDEO AND EVERYTHING ELSE. YOU'LL HAVE TO GO INCOGNITO TO ACCESS YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT. ANDROID IS THE PITS. AS OF DEC. 2023 THEY CAN NOW USE THEIR SIM CARD AND USE YOUR IPHONE TO ACCESS THEIR SERVICE. I HAD JUST CHECKED AGAIN DEC. 31...TOO CLOSE BECAUSE I WAS SHOPPING AROUND ON THEIR SITE FOR A NEW IPHONE, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR $700 CATASTROPHE. ALSO YOU CAN PURCHASE THE UNLOCKED IPHONES FROM APPLE WITH ESIMS AND THEY WILL CONNECT IT TO THEIR SERVICE. CALL TO CONFIRM FIRST. THEY ALSO NOTIFIED ME THE GOV'T MIGHT STOP FREE PHONE SERVICE IN APRIL.
ATTENTION: VOICEMAIL TRANSCRIPTIONS ARE NOT PROVIDED. SUCKS

My experience has been that every 2 months. I go 10 days without a phone because it melts down. Spend $20 in shipping for a replacement phone from assurance under warranty, So the free phone costs 20$ every 2 months and 10 days no phone while replacing their meltdown. It's the biggest scam. You will go without a phone and pay 20$. That's life with assurance wireless.

When I called them, I was told I would have to pay 20.00 for the shipping on another free phone. I'm going to switch to metro and have my number ported over, and my ACP switched to metro.

I will NEVER recommend assurance wireless, even to my worst enemy. I wouldn't give them any stars, except i can't leave a comment without some kind of rating.

SCAM
October 22, 2023

THIS PLACE CALLED MAGNIFYDE WORKING FOR ASSURANCE WIRELESS IS A SCAM! Do not even consider working here, i know it all sounds great but its all a lie. Youre offered 0 gas money, youre offered NO LUNCH, and if you dont sell 6 phones a day you DO NOT GET PAYED. Youre asked to drive to these ridiculous and dangerous locations all to be out in the sun for 10+ hours. YOUR MONEY IS NOT GUARANTEED. You arent getting payed hourly and there IS NO PAYED TRAINING. Youll probably be trained by a boy named renato he is also part of this pyramid scheme. Xavier otero makes you feel all so important in the beginning but that is all because he wants you to sell phones in order for him to make money. Your base pay A DAY IS $85. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PYRAMID SCHEME!

New Replacement
October 12, 2023
Updated review

Let Lifeline service expire then reapply gets you new phone AND new phone # (cant transfer #). But Volt phone battery was awful! Decided on a used unlocked Samsung A11 and switched to TELLO for $10./mo unlimited talk and text with mobile data options if you need. Spent an hour on hold for answers at Assurance Wireless as staff knows nothing or gives inaccurate info.

Device incompatible
July 5, 2023
Previous review

My recently purchased 2020 used Galaxy a11 is good on T-Mobile's Tello $10 per month unlimited talk and text online verifier - said the IMEI is compatible. Assurance Wireless also on T-Mobile GSM claims it is not compatible after waiting 40 minutes! Assurance Wireless should be investigated for their lack of transparency. If the government is paying them for time on the phone for customer service they must be racking up the charges

DEFECTIVE PHONES
October 9, 2023

Every time I get a phone, it is not new, and they break down within 5 to 6 months! This phone can't take or send pictures, or get texts properly. Or the phone shuts down! I called last week, to get a new phone, and they said a new phone was on it's way. Well, it never came! I called them. They said it was never sent out, but to get a new/old phone, I need to give them thirty dollars! I am Disabled and I qualified for a FREE phone, and now they want money!

When I first signed up with them they sent me a shock volt sv55 which broke 2 months later because that phone is a defective piece of garbage so when I contacted customer service I asked for them to send me a different model phone but they sent me the same exact defective piece of garbage after the representative lied to me and promised me a different model phone so after I received the new garbage phone I called back to customer service and he told me to wait until July (this was in May) and they would send me an email saying when the new phone would be in so when July came and went I called back to customer service and they said that they would send me a replacement phone in 7 to 10 days so when it never came i called back and was lied to again and promised a replacement phone that never came and apparently they did this until the 90 days warranty was up so now they are saying that they won't replace the phone unless I pay for a new phone plus 20$ to ship it and this is after another agent lied to me on Sept 25 and even gave me a confirmation number promising to send me a new phone and when I called back they said there's no record of that and told me if I wanted a new phone I would have to pay when they lied to me over and over just to get me off the phone so i would eventually have to pay if I wanted a phone that actually works so stay away from them because the free phones are defective garbage and they wont give you a replacement they will just lie to you until the warrenty expires

Just when I thought this company would become better after the pandemic and Sprint merger. It just so happens Executive Escalations Department refuses to talk directly with customers after they make a FCC complaint. It really stinks companies are handing over outrageous fees for a already federally paid for program that is supposed to help people connect and get free phone service. Times have changed. Used to be a good company.
