Do not go to Aspen Dental. They will tell you verbally that you are paid in full, leave you with a completely ambiguous billing statement showing "Amount Due = $0," and six months later bill you $1,000... the day before payment is due. My "final notice" was my ONLY notice. I called every 30 minutes all day today, getting an answering machine nearly every time. One time, a person actually picked up the phone! I got put on hold, which lasted ten minutes and then sent me to voicemail. Then, five hours later, they picked up again. I tried disputing the charge, but, of course, there was nothing they could do. I just paid them their money to ensure I would never have any business there again. The lady on the phone (she never said her name) handled me and my exasperation very well.
Also, the staff were so awkward and silent. They seemed like they were afraid or something. I suggest acting like you are humans with souls and the patients who take exception to that can just learn to deal with it. The primary dentist who did my fillings and crown was really rough on my teeth, even more awkward than the Aspen Dental standard, and was impossible to understand through his thick accent. It's like they are just importing bottom of the barrel dentists to support their corporate empire. I see why my endodontist and his assistant were snickering when they said his name. Hint: his name wasn't funny at all. I wish there was a zero-star rating on this website.
I attached pictures of the ambiguous piece of paper they sent me out the door with and circled in green the non-obvious charge that I had to pay today (six months later with 0 prior notice).
Aspen dental in Virginia Beach is the worse, especially General Booth location. Staff including dentist & surgeon are crooks. Lots of promises but all lies! Price changes as often as the staff changes. The absolute cheapest materials they can purchase legally. PLEASE help put these criminals out of business by not going to any of their locations. Owners are teaching staff how to rip off patients in any way possible with NO reimbursement as PROMISED. $10,000 over charged before they would finish the work. If you have problems call or write to the dental board so attorney general in your state can get involved. It's the ONLY way because Aspen dental will never do the right thing unless forced. Again, RUN!
Daphne, Alabama. Lots of happy talk and nice office. I went for exam and cleaning and left with $3400 treatment plan that included unnecessary deep cleaning and three crowns. Also got billed for a tooth brush I did not receive. Next visit to have one of the crowns done, assistant prepped the wrong tooth. Then the dentist began to perform a different procedure from the one I came in for. Finally she said she could not do that procedure and put the old crown back in. It fell out the next day. They insist on pre-payment so I'm due a refund, but it's been a week and still no refund. Don't even drive by this place!
I went in 2021 to get cavities removed. That incompetent fool removed crowded teeth and left the worst broken tooth with exposed nerve behind.
Recently, because my current dental service became out of network from my dental insurance, I, as a new patient, made an appointment with Aspen Dental (Hendersonville, NC) 6 month ahead of time.
I received a remind to confirm my appointment, and I did 2 days before my appointment. I arrived 15 minutes ahead of time and filled required documents, and then wait, wait, and wait for almost one hour and finally my name is called.
I was asked to take 6 X-ray for teeth in the up-left, up-right, up-center, low-left, low-right, low-center, but it actually took more than 12 X-ray since the hygienist (I thought she was in normal situation, but actually not) cannot make the position right!
I was asked to sit to the patient's chair, and the hygienist checked my teeth (I believe it is for 3-d denture image, but there is no explanation anyway), which took a little long. Then she asked a dentist to check my teeth, and he told me everything looks good.
Finally, the hygienist said to me that I am ready to go!
At this point, I asked her, should you clean my teeth? To my surprise, she told me I had to make another appointment since the hygienist is not available today and Aspen Dental has only one hygienist (I saw at this moment that was not a hygienist)!
I had no choice, and tried to make another appointment. But I was told to sit in the waiting room, and wait, and wait. Finally I went to the front desk asking for a new appointment, the staff said to me "just a minute", then "just two minutes", and finally she find a latest available appointment after another 6 month!
I said to her that I missed this appointment not due to my fault, and asked whether I can make an immediate appointment. Her answer is no, explaining to me "your teeth is fine for another 6 month"!
Do you think I should go back for my next Aspen Dental appointment?
In 2019, I purchased full upper and lower partial dentures from Aspen Dental in Rincon, GA. I was told that my purchase would include free adjustments for life. However, when I visited them on June 8,2023, to get my dentures adjusted due to persistent discomfort, I was charged $90, and to my disappointment, the adjustment didn't improve the fit.
Additionally, they asked me to schedule a future cleaning and fillings appointment for August, but required me to pay $211 upfront. This practice of pre-charging for services not yet rendered strikes me as unethical.
I decided to share my experience to alert potential customers about these issues, hoping that Aspen Dental might reconsider and improve their practices. I also initiated a discussion on Nextdoor (https :// nextdoor.com/p/2W4SC_Lk4sj8?utm_source=share&extras=NDA2ODU4MTU%3D) where several others have shared their similar experiences with Aspen Dental.
I specifically said I wanted my teeth cleaned and information for a crown nothing else. My insurance isn't accepted there and I knew that. What I didn't know until I got there was that they MUST take X-rays before a cleaning. 230.00 worth of X-rays. There is a sign by the front desk explaining that for 1st time visitors x rays and exam are free. I asked about that. I was told that it's only for people who don't have insurance. I asked " well isn't that me? ". I was told that even though they don't accept my insurance I don't qualify". It was a short visit to the dentist today.
I was given a lower partial. It was not a permanent partial because the dentist was unsure how my bottom teeth would hold up, so she recommended a temporary partial. I went in today to get it fixed because it broke for the 3rd. Time. I was told it would be 188.00. The guy that fixes broken partials said it could not be fixed. He never showed his face and explained this to me. He sent the office girl to explain. I consider this poor business practices. It was the dentist who told me to get the temporary partial in the first place. They wanted me to set up an appointment for a permanent partial. If I needed a permanent partial why wasn't I told to do that in the first place. I do not intend to ever go back to College Station Texas location or any of their locations. I will find someone who cares about me as a person.
I purchase my dentures in Aspen Dental for 2800 $.
I travel out the country and 1 of the tooth got loose,I fix it there and now back in usa I got another tooth loose and they do not recognize warranty because I fix it out side the country.
Shame on them...never go back to aspen dental
It looks like there is a multitude of Aspen Dental clinics whose locations aren't identified in these reviews. I have been very pleased with Aspen Dental in Easley, SC, without the negative issues that seem apparent in other locations. It would be helpful to know which ones the complaints are for. They have had a recent issue with a "system failure". I had an appointment on May 5th, 2023 and no one was there. I had a 120-mile round trip for nothing. I called the next day and the gentleman who answered took my number and said he would call me for another appointment. It's a month later and I have heard nothing. Fortunately, the aching tooth my appointment was for stopped hurting. Another review mentions a continuing system problem. L will use them again but hope their "system" is ironed out by then.
Went to aspen dental in Smyrna Tn. Disorganized and unprofessional. Appt at 9:30 and received a email that I was set of 10. Had to wait for over an hr. Person doing X-rays didn't speak just grabbed my head to position. Complained about wait then agreed to treatment plan. Called back after a few days since they hadn't called me back. Finally called my insurance carrier and was informed of hat the treatment plan had neve been submitted. Nothing but lies and bull crap. Go somewhere else
Called for a broken tooth and pain, and they scheduled me for next day. Called me 2 hours before appointment to cancel. Said they overbooked. Rude, didn't care about my pain. Bull$#*! organization! STAY AWAY!
Aspen requires payment in full before they will complete my crown replacement. Each time I try making appointment the amount required changes. I believe costly unnecessary deep cleaning inflated my account. Now I'm stuck with a temporary crown until I come up with $ 500, $900, $601 or $151. They should be invested for their business practices.
They lost my dentures they have had them for 3 weeks. It was supposed to be only 2. Still can not find them
DO NOT GO HERE! You'll be doing yourself a service. I went there and paid ahead for services I may need as we went along. Well, I got a call and asked what for. Gum surgery I was told. I went to my appointment and was informed the dentist was stuck in traffic. Waited an hour, and Oh God wish I didn't.
He looked like he was on a bender. Started with giving me novacane and proceeded to remove a couple of teeth. I asked "What are you doing?" Taking out your teeth! "How many?" ALL OF THEM. And they dd! I'm still crying. They upper cracked down the middle and was told "Get new ones." Rude, unethical, money.Hungry. Only reason you see a 1 star is there are no other options.
Aspen Dental says "Exclusive money back guarantee"on dentures. They tried 3 times to make mine and couldn't. They kept $750.00 out of the almost $5,000 I gave them. I'm out $750.00 and no teeth. They may can fill a tooth but they can't make teeth. BEWARE
They rip you off, and they shouldn't be in business. Do not go! The worse experience ever. I had a crown down and popped off after 18 months. My daughter and I, were fine before we went, after comprehensive visit, he was given us a quote almost 15 k for the both of us. After a few visits we were both in pain. Do not go!
In November of 2022, I scheduled a dental appointment for April 14th, 2023, why so far out, because they're short staff. On April 14th, when I arrived I was told that they tried to called me because they needed to reschedule my appointment to September 2023. This is unacceptable and I will never use them again..
Aspen Dental Delray,Been there 1.5 years in that time I have seen 3 different hygienists each one was brought in from another office to fill in for the day they said, the dentist I started with is no longer there and the fill in dentist from Miami said he had recently immigrated from Cuba but was licensed in the state.
He prepared one of my teeth to receive a crown and temporary tooth. That was 4 weeks ago. The crown procedure was cancelled because it had not arrived as scheduled.i called again the following week for tracking on the status and was told they had no record of my impressions being sent and I would have to come in again to repeat them. I await a call back from the office manager. This office has a high turnover of inexperienced people and I would consider it more of a dental school instead of a professional dental practice. After having a relationship with my dentist a and regular hygienist for years this is a real shock.
I was told by a woman in the business office if I didn't get a deep cleaning all my teeth would fall out. Mind you, and had been going to the dentist in Minnesota and they said no such thing. They ruined my gumline...teeth shifted. I'm still waiting for my refund four years later. Money is all this corporate fast food of dental, company cares about. Profit before people is Aspen Dental motto!
