HORRIBLE Customer Service
July 17, 2020

DO NOT SHOP AT ASHLEY FURNITURE! We bought a mattress and frame at the Ashley Furniture Store in Springdale, OH on July 7,2020. Our salesman assured us that the mattress and frame would be delivered the following day on July 8,2020. That evening, we took apart our bed and wrapped up our mattress and box spring so they could be picked up the next day. My husband took the day off work and the mattress and PART of the frame was delivered. My husband called the store and was assured the other part of the frame would be delivered on Thursday. My husband took off a second day from work on Thursday, July 9. No one called and nothing was delivered. He called the store and was again assured the rest of the frame would be delivered on Friday, July 10. He took a third day off work. They delivered the same part of the frame that they delivered on July 8. My husband called the store again and was assured they were doing everything they could to get the rest of the frame delivered asap. We then received an email from Josh Render on July 11 stating our frame wasn't loaded on to the truck, so we wouldn't be getting the frame until Tuesday, July 14. Meanwhile, keep in mind that we had been sleeping on an air mattress since July 8. They also forgot to deliver the mattress pad we paid for. We were told by our salesman that we would receive a $300 gift card. Of course, we have not received it. My husband had several conversations with Josh Render concerning getting a partial refund of our purchase because of the delays and the 4 unpaid days off my husband had to take from work. He offered $1,000.00. The corporate office said they can only offer $200 and we can't return the bed or frame. I wish I had seen all of the negative reviews before shopping there. I am in shock at the way this store does business!

Worst experience ever and poor customer service
July 8, 2020

Purchase was made for couch and loveseat on 5/21/2020. Sales assoc. Jessica was very pleasant. Loveseat delivery date set for 7/15/2020. Couch was delivered on 6/3 Wed. At approx. 7:10 P. M, delivery guys were very pleasant. At 7:40 P. M after delivery guys left, 1st phone call was made to Miamisburg, OH store regarding defective couch delivered with numerous issues/defects and store was closed. VM was left. Did not receive return phone call Thursday or Friday. I again called on Friday at approx. 4 PM regarding defective couch. I sat on hold for 25 min and called from my daughters phone while still on hold and was able to get through within 5 min while my phone was still on hold. I was told that I would receive a phone call for a service repairman to come fix my brand new couch that was delivered to me defective. I finally received an automated phone call on june 16th to set up service appointment. I attempted to set up date but automated recording kept saying they are unable to set up at this time. So I sat on hold to speak to live person for 25 minutes and hung up. I attempted to call store again and sat on hold for another 20+ minutes until I called from daughters phone again and reached someone within 15 min while still on hold on other phone and left message. I received another automated call the next day and again the same issue, unable to set appointment time and I sat on hold for 15 minutes before speaking to live person. The issues were explained to the live person, time frame was set for 6/22,3 days after I had chemo. Gentleman whom was very pleasant came on Mon. 6/22. The man was there an hour, while I was not feeling well at all, and stated there was no way possible he can fix this in an hour, that he would need to put in another work order for 5 hours or couch replacement. 5 phone calls were made to cooperate headquarters and left VM after sitting on hold for 20+ minutes with no return phone calls. 3 phone calls made to Miamisburg store and VM left with 1 return phone call from sales assoc Jessica. Jessica is very nice but no issues resolved except she informed me loveseat would be delivered on 7/8.4th phone call made and spoke to manager Eric on 6/24 Wed. With no resolution except that he will have supervisor Kendall call me on Friday. Received phone call from Kendall on Fri. Explained to her all the issues and how it should not even be a question of fixing couch due to I did not purchase a defective couch and I have cancer surgery 7/20/2020 so therefor I can not have my couch being worked on right after surgery. Kendall apologized for all the issues and said I would receive a new couch and to disregard servicing current couch. Kendall also stated I could keep current couch until replacement arrives. Received confirmation text on Friday 7/3/2020 for Wed loveseat delivery. Received phone call on Monday 7/6 from Ashley but they did not leave a VM. Wednesday afternoon at approx. 12 PM I called Miamisburg store again and spoke to sales assoc Jessica because I had not received phone call or loveseat delivery. Jessica stated she checked on Sunday her deliveries for the week and I still was scheduled for Wed 7/8/2020, but while on the phone with her she checked the computer on the delivery date was changed to 7/29/2020 on Mon. I asked to speak to Kendall and Kendall will not be in until Friday. So still nothing accomplished with surgery a week and a half away.

Writing an update to my original review of Ashley Homestore after one of the side rails on my Windville Upholstered bed failed / collapsed. While trying to get help from Ashley on my less than two year old "still new to me bed" a Texas based Ashley Homestore customer service rep stated "We see this often with these fabric units".
Really, often? And you refuse to assist a customer whose side rail totally collapsed under just light, normal use? Horrible! I have emailed, called, chatted, send registered letters to corporate in WI. All actions received the same uncaring, dismissive response as apparently customers must purchase an expensive warranty to protect themselves from Ashley's horrible construction, cheap, flimsy materials, and rude and abrasive customer service people. I hired a handyman yesterday to help me repair the side rail as every night I go to bed wondering if my bed will totally collapse while I'm asleep. What we found was SHOCKING. The side rail was made of lauan. Basically one step above cardboard! And a very thin wood across the top like the type of wood you see in a childs dime store airplane toy. Best of all guess how it was held together? STAPLES! LOL yes, that's what I said, STAPLES! My handyman commented that my bed was basically "a prop". Not meant to hold weight or be used. Certainly not capable of supporting a mattress! He insisted that I purchase a metal frame to go inside the bed to support the mattress so I would be safe as for sure the other side would collapse as well! I am furious. Ashley Homestores touts their engineering, design, etc on their website and THIS is what we get? Not ok! So a handyman for 4 hours at $48 and hour, plus supplies from Lowe's and Hobby Lobby to put the new side rail on cost me about $300. And now, my bed has lost the "clean" look I wanted when I purchased an upholstered bed as the legs from the metal bed frame show.: 0( At least I have the peace of mind that my bed isn't going to collapse! Friends and neighbors please consider other retailers when making your furniture purchases. This company manufactures garbage... and they know they have issues with their bed and still refuse to assist their customers. I want a full refund and I want someone to come take this piece of junk bed out of my home, sweet home! Enough! Also do take a look at the Ashley Furniture Complaint page on FaceBook. There are literally thousands of members, mostly consumers like myself who have had a horrible experience with this uncaring, awful furniture company.

Rude customer service
May 6, 2020

Ordered a dining set in April, it was scheduled to deliver today, I received a confirmation number once I ordered but never received any email or tracking even though they charged me for it. I called today since it never delivered only to be told the order didn't go through and I'd have to order again. I asked how that's possible if I'd been charged and received a confirmation number, only to be talked down to and told "well you should've received an email too and it should've said failed on it" no where on your website does it say that and I Never got one. I work in customer service and never have I ever experienced such terrible customer service, gonna be eating dinner on the floor of my new home for another week waiting for a different table to come... never buying here again, didn't offer any resolution for me beside telling me to order again.

Awful customer service, whole company is scam
January 30, 2020

I am writing this review only because I ruined my $*******, my 3-4 months time, my comfort, piece of mind, and my trust because of Ashley Furniture store and I do not want other people make the same mistake I made. Please do not consider what I include in this review as my madness or frustration, it is an exact real story that happens to anybody dealing with Ashley Furniture stores.
First of all, the whole company is scam and everybody (even their employers and their delivery guys complain about their lies and I heard lies from all of them) are mad at Ashley, and I do not know where some of these 5 stars in google coming from (I guess they make some fake accounts to randomly put 5-stars review for them if you look at their history they only have 1 review and it is Ashley). I recommend for ASHLEY review take a look at YELP (2.5-starts even with their fake 5-star review) or other online review platforms. I am hugely surprised how they have maintained in business in the US with this awful customer service.
Regarding my experience with them, please be cautious (scared-scared-scared) of these names: DAVID, SAHAR, KALY, TOBY
They are professional liars/scammers. Initially, they treat you as if they love you so you feel they are the nicest people. The purpose is to attract you and catch you in their traps. Their tricks to do that includes: Hey body come here I give you great discount (while the original price is 3 times higher), we protect your furniture for 5 years, push you to buy tonight because tonight we have a great deal and we want you to take advantage of our great deal, we have 48 months finances, and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, we were fooled by SAHAR (salesperson working in Dublin store) and she connected us to a so-called manage David in Colma store. They asked us to open a credit card for financing 2 days beforehand, but at the time of payment, David added 10% to the whole purchase because of financing. It was the first lie and we got a hard inquiry and credit score dropped hugely and could not use that with 10% more (we bought $******* things from Ashly and with the finance, it was $*******). They are very professional scammers and do their best to catch you in a trap so you cannot decide. Therefore, we had to pay all upfront that was very stressful for us. Then David pushed us to buy a protection plan but we did not trust them to have protection plan. After payment (November 27th) they set our delivery for 3 weeks later (December 14th), while we were previously promised by SAHAR for 3-4 day delivery. The most awful part of the experience is after 3 weeks they changed the time of delivery 2 times and push it back to the very late afternoon. 3 delivery guys brought us some of our items. When we looked at them, we were shocked. After 3 weeks they brought us garbage, damaged, scratched, and even some floor samples instead of brand new. They broke my door, damaged my wall, hugely scratched my hardwood floor and damaged my house, and we only got only 25% of our stuff that looked pretty much like floor samples, although they charged me for brand new. Interestingly, it turned out the delivery guys faked my wife's signature (signature forgery) that I did not have any complain about $2130 damage they caused to my property (floor, wall, door, entrance Lanscape lights).
After 10 times calling and spending 10 hours, they scheduled us for another delivery (January 5th) and promised to refund my delivery fee because of the inconvenience. New delivery guys brought the same items (broken, damaged, scratched, floor samples...). After that, we had 3-4 more deliveries (total I guess 8 times) every time something was missing and damaged. Finally, we had to accept all the garbage they delivered to us since we got tired of their lies and mental problems we had got from them.
All in all, they are professional and educated on how to play with you mentally so you give up. If you wanna waste 3-4 months of your life, your money, your mental health, and finally receive a bunch of garbage buy from Ashley

Never again
January 18, 2020

My first experience with the Ashley Homestore in Mcdonough ga. WAS MY LAST! It was an experience from hell. The furniture is of VERY CHEAP QUALITY and the customer service in that particular store is ridiculous. I purchased a dinette set where all for chairs rocks from side to side. I'm currently awaiting a replacement for one of the seats because it was popping every time I sat on it so the technician said it was defective. After only a month, and only sitting in the chairs a few times, the cushions on the seats sit as if I've have the set 5 years or more. They have already lost the comfort of a well cushioned chair. The memory foam queen size mattress I purchased for my grandson is made of a material that's extremely slippery. To the point where my grandson actually fell out the bed because of it. I thought that maybe it was the sheets I had on the mattress. But I've since bout a VERY EXPENSIVE NECTAR MATTRESS COVER and new 100% COTTON sheets and he still has to be extra careful in moving in the mattress or he'll end up on the floor again. This was the worse experience I've ever had with a furniture store. And it's not like the prices are lower than other stores. They are VERY EXPENSIVE. But the quality is no where near worth the prices of their products.

Shopping Experience from HELL
December 6, 2019

(review is a ZERO - you have to give 1 star to submit)

I am writing to share my horrible shopping experience with Ashley Furniture Store.

In January 2019, my husband and I purchased $4,000 worth of furniture from the Ashley Furniture showroom in Fairfield, CA. At that time we were informed that a few items were on back order. We explained that we work multiple jobs and requested that everything be held for delivery all at the same time. Their salesperson assured us our request would not be an issue.

In March, 2019, we are notified, via text, that a delivery was scheduled for the very next day. Because a time was not provided, I called to inquire about the scheduled time. The representative was very rude and told me that upon signing the purchase contract we had agreed to be available all day anytime Ashley scheduled an appointment. I then demanded a supervisor, as this was unreasonable, but was told the supervisor was unavailable and would call me back. To date I have not heard from a supervisor.

The delivery we received was a sofa and vanity table (which was put together backward by their delivery person.) The next day we returned to the store to discuss the matter with the salesperson, who turned us over to customer service. The customer service representative pretty much ignored us so I requested a manager. We sat there in the store for over 45 minutes waiting for the manager, who refused to come and talk to us. After walking around I could hear the salesperson pleading with the manager to meet with us, but to no avail; I heard him say "get rid of them, I don't want to talk to them".

The manager finally came to speak to us, but was very rude and aggressive. We requested a discount for the inconvenience and was told no because our items were sale items. I continued to insist on a discount but was only offered a $100 gift card, redeemable on the next full value purchase.

Since March 2019, we've had deliveries twice a month up until July 20,2019. To date, my vanity and dining room tables are still damaged; and according to the repair person who came out on May 17,2019, both tables are not repairable and needed replacing. He also indicated that all 4 chairs needed to be cleaned or replaced as they too were soiled.

At the final delivery in July 2019, the driver arrived with only 1 dining room chair (instead of 4), which had a large black stain on it. He said he also had a replacement table for me, which was also damaged and discolored. I requested that the driver take pictures of the damaged table and dirty chairs for dispatch and was told not to "worry someone will be in touch". Today date, I have not heard from anyone and my issues have yet to be resolved!

In the end, we fixed the vanity ourselves, our dining room table has yet to be replaced (as it has dried spray paint stains), our chairs are filthy, we have no kitchen table, as it was destroyed and taken away by their driver in July 2019.

We are furious! We had to postpone our 10th wedding anniversary celebration dinner, as we had no dining room table; our children have no kitchen table because it has been over a month since our table was destroyed by their driver. We have yet to receive a credit for the kitchen table. The store as the Manager Perry and the Regional Manager Gary Donovan has been made it crystal clear with the empty promises; that customer satisfaction and resolution is not on their priority list. We had thanksgiving with no Kitchen table, refund or a decent dining table. We regret not going to RC Wiley's! We are at our wits end with this company. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau I have reached out to The Department of Consumer Affairs and 7 on your side as well as seeking legal counsel.

Frustrated Regretful Customer

Update on Ashley Furniture
August 17, 2019
Updated review

Since my last review
I did not receive any furniture from Ashley because after this review I decided to go for the refund option. I did not go through the regular channels I went straight to corporate which was a nicer experience for me than just plain old customer service that keeps you on hold forever. I emailed their corporate office about my problem and within 24 hours I had my refund. After that I decided not to use my refund and to shop elsewhere. But it was nice to know that their corporate office cares. Even if their stores do not so thanks Ashley for the memories

Did you get your furniture yet?

Previous review

Here we go plain and simple I am a disabled person with cerebral Palsy I am Homebound. Please Keep that in mind when you read this Due to my condition I wanted to purchase a reclining sofa to make my life more pleasant at home for myself and my family. I went to ashley furniture website and purchased a reclining sofa and a plain loveseat. The trouble started at the delivery phase of the purchase. Now yesterday I had thrown out my old couch and loveseat. Who needs them now because ashley is coming right? My delivery was scheduled between 9:30 am to 1:30 pm so I stationed myself in a kitchen chair by the door so that I would not miss them. So as I wait I become concerned when they don't show up so I call them after 1:00 to see what happened they inform me that the delivery man had already been there and I was not home. They said that yhey have a picture of my door and I WAS NOT HOME. Then they say that if I want a redelivery I would have to pay another 140.00 which I do not have so I am left with no furniture at all and no way to get any until I save up again. Who takes a picture of a door and does not knock unless they just want more money. And I am not hard of hearing in case youre wondering and I just want others to BEWARE OF ASHLEY FURNITURE

Worst. Website. Ever.
April 28, 2019

I have been looking for a couch for a long time now. Ive done tons of research, and finally found something that I like that's on sale! Sounds good right? Nope. I signed into the Ashley furniture site to finalize the buy. So I'm on a 5' screen phone. The top third of the page is just search bar that restricts the view of the products and the bottom half of the page is a tab for financing. It continually pops up in front of the products, completely limiting my view of the products. I spent about 5 minutes trying to dismiss the tab. It wouldn't go away! So I tried on my 10' tablet. I had the same problem! So I guess I was so annoyed that I wrote a sort of terse email saying that their site was difficult to navigate, and that although I think that I finally found a piece that I liked, I couldn't see the darn thing due to the cluttered page. So I got an email back pretty quickly. The sales rep said that she had tried to call me and that they would be happy to help me check out. But that wasn't the issue. I just wanted to see the entire piece! Anyway (sorry about the book I just wrote lol) clearly no one actually read my email, as I told them I would be shopping on Wayfair. So I can't recommend this site. If you are interested in buying from Ashley, you should absolutely go into the store (which I hate).

Before you shop there, go to these sites and see the horrible complaints! Please.
consumeraffairs.com Over 2,400 sad customers!
ashley-furniture.pissedcomsumer.com Once again, hundreds and hundreds of angry customers!
Also, go to YouTube and watch the videos of people who have only had the furniture in their house for a short time. So sad.
The reason the salespeople so aggressively push you too get the protection plan, is that its almost how they make half of their pay check. Its not because they care.

Beware Buying from Ashley Furniture
December 12, 2018

I ordered brand Altrai sofa and love seat (Item ID ******* & *******) on dated 11/23/18 and promised to delivered to me on 12/01/18, but received a phone call from them on 11/30/18 mention, they have fire next to their warehouse, so that they can't deliver on schedule date and gave me new deliver date of 12/11/18. But received another phone call from them on dated 12/08/18, said the same issue they cannot deliver on 12/11/18 and cannot promise me new delivery date until January, no fix date. I asked the lady I need to talk with the floor manager named Johnathan, but he never came on the phone and returning my phone calls. My credit card already been charged and I am chasing them for my refund. Finally I dispute charges with my credit card company.

Sales team is great delivery teams suck
July 4, 2018

Hello, First I will say it is good to go to Ashley Furniture. They have a wide variety of furniture. Secondly there sales teams are helpful but like anything else you need to put your buyer beware hat on. Be very specific with what you are getting. Especially when it comes to mattress sales.

However, when it comes to execution they really suck. There delivery teams are the absolute worst. You need to watch every move they make. They move very fast so stop them and tell them what to do. I would strongly suggest that the person who bought the items be there at delivery. They get paid for pickups. So they will leave you with stuff eve if it means coming back to pick it up. It is kind of like networking to make sure they always remain busy. These are not employees they are contractors with rented trucks.

An Ashley Furniture Dura blend sofa and loveseat were purchased for me as a gift by a family friend. Dura blend is, allegedly, a combination of real leather and faux leather.

It wasnt long before there was some minor peeling on both pieces which escalated into EXTREME peeling. This should NOT be happening within a few years of minor use. Both pieces are peeling in places that are never even touched! It need not be used it shreds itself. The quality of the material (DuraBlend) is cheap!

Every day, all day, with chronic back pain, I pick up pieces of the sofa and loveseat. I find pieces on my clothing and in the shower... everywhere! I weigh 98 pounds and have no pets. The sofa and loveseat continue to peel and come apart. There is no excuse for such poor quality.

On the DuraBlend information card the first descriptive word is durable! That word should have a question mark following it. (Durable?)... Another descriptive phrase on the card is sophisticated look and feel. Please see the photos. Does that say sophistication? It should say Belongs in dumpster. Sophistication? I am embarrassed to invite people into my home. When I do, they always leave with pieces of the sofa and loveseat attached to their clothing. A souvenir of sophistication.

Stated on the tag is - Made by Ashley furniture Industries, Inc. Well Ashley, I need a REPLACEMENT sofa and loveseat of a similar color and shape BUT pieces that will NOT PEEL that ARE ACTUALLY durable and sophisticated in look and feel.

Signed,
Feeling and looking TIRED, bending over every day to pick up pieces of YOUR DuraBlend. Sick of looking at shredded furniture claiming to be durable.

In order to make a decent salary you have to work long hours like 55-60 hours a week and stalk customer via the phone and email.
I lost orders because the furniture didn't get made in the time period that the POS quoted which made me look like a liar to the angry customer that decided to cancel the order.
Also, the so call fabric called Durablend is like the Frankenstein Monster it's made of 17 percent of scraps of leather, some cotton and polyurethane (plastic). Doesn't that sound wonderful. And the regular "cloth" fabric they use is polyester.
They also try to sell you this furniture protection using fear tactics that is rubbish, because when something does happen to your furniture, they don't honor it.
The also have the LIST price and the SALE price on tags which is just rubbish as well.
I could have done well if I was willing to give up my life for this place and give up my morals as well
There is a reason why they have high turn over, the floor is flooded with desperate sales people.
Lastly the training is horrible and too complicated. And when you try to get a short to the point answer, you get a lecture and nothing but a lot of words that don't answer your simple question.

Lastly two days after I told my manager at the Plano, Tx store that I had
Schizophrenia that was well under control he suddenly fired me with no reason.

Do America a favor and go out of business.

Worst Company Ever
November 28, 2016

Worst place ever! We bought a $300 mattress pad along with a $1700 mattress. Well after about a week we noticed the bed felt like sleeping on rocks. I went to my Dr. in so much back pain and body aches, she gave me some pain relievers. We figured out it was the mattress pad it wasn't letting the bed breathe, because the bottom of it was rubber. Well my husband went to return it, first thing they said was there was nothing they could do. After a long conversation they gave him $200 in gift cards and talked him into buying another one and spent another $70.
When he brought it home I looked at it and told him no, it was the same rubber bottom just a different version of the last one. So unopened and unused we went to return it, the manager Julian at store #3 in Las Vegas Nv. Said nothing I can do. He proceeded to tell us that everything at Ashley's furniture is sold as is items. That makes all the warranties null and void.
They continue to offer gift cards, we didn't pay in gift cards so I don't want gift cards. Not to mention I don't want to continue giving them my business...
