I had an issue with their contract shipper (FedEx) who failed to honor my vacation hold set up on the FedEx account manager, lied about the delivery being made during the vacation hold, although we could see the package on the front step via our security camera, and refused to pick up the merchandise even though they were not supposed to have delivered it. Art.com responded immediately to my complaint with a full credit on the cost of shipping my order. Couldn't ask for a better outcome, although FedEx should be making amends, not Art.com.
I ordered a large print that was supposed to be professionally framed. It was heavily discounted, but still over $130 with a $50 shipping charge. It arrived today.
The framing on this thing is on par with a cheap Walmart print... the mat is very thin, the frame itself is thin metal, and it's covered in front with a sheet of cheap plastic. The assembly is not sealed in any way in the back - no spacers or craft paper. Because of its dimensions and cheap assembly, the piece will not lie flat on the wall. It hangs warped.
With a shipping price that is probably worth more than the entire product, if I return it, this company will keep my $50 and still have made a profit off of me. Don't make the same mistake I did and give these people your money.
I ordered 3 tapestries of art by one of my favorite artists Don Li-Leger. They are supposed to have rod pockets on the back that are not sews to the edges so that when you hang them the support brackets for the rods do not show. Only one of the 3 came sewn correctly, so I called and explained the problem to customer service. They send me two labels for free returns and ordered two replacement tapestries. Either they did not tell their supplier what the problem was, or the supplier ignored the alert, and they sent me two replacement tapestries with the exact same problems. So now after waiting a month overall, I am rescinding the order and sending everything back for a full refund. What incompetence. I really liked them too and the colors were perfect for my room. What a waste of time and energy.
I asked for gift cards for Xmas because I was saving up for an art.com picture for my bedroom. When I went to redeem my gift cards I was informed that their system can only accept one gift card per order. I have never heard of such a thing! Is their system from the 1990's? So basically I have to spend a lot more of my money on multiple orders in order to use the gift cards that my family spent their money on. Customer service was horrible when I tried to get help on the issue. I am done with art.com (well, after I use all my stupid gift cards!)
I placed an international order. During the transaction, art.com said that the items would arrive by Jan: 8 but the items were still not delivered by Jan 18. The customer service didn't provide any tracking information. Instead, they kept saying that the otems would arrived by 13th, then 18th, then 23th, then 28th.
I ordered 2 canvas pictures there were supposedly left by Fedex on my front door (no signature required). When I got back home after Christmas break, they weren't there. I called Art.com and let them know the situation and they expedited 2 new pictures out right away. I couldn't be happier and feel they're a standup company that went the extra mile for me. Highly recommend!
I ordered a product that said "will arrive by". It did not arrive by that date. I arrived several days later. The option customer service gave is return unopened for a refund, but minus the shipping cost. Had they not stated "will receive by" there would not have been an issue. I would have gladly paid for quicker shipping to receive when needed. Customer service sucks!
I have several issues with this website
- they are always on 40-50% discount - do not pay anything full price ever
- the packaging though is not on discount and is very expensive making the whole thing much more expensive than other places
- they added an additional VAT charge (which Fed Ex passed to me as it went through customs) - despite me using the "UK version" of the website
- overall the picture is reasonable quality and the frame seems fine
Avoid this useless website. They took me money and did not send the package
Things got worse when I contacted their customer service
1st Customer service agent was appalingly useless and lied to me. He said I would receive an email confirmation that I never got. The second one kept telling me to wait and took ages to finally tell me that he had no clue where the package was. Both told me that I would be reimbursed for the order that has not arrived yet. The Third one told me I had to wait even longer (20 days after the expected delivery date) before I could complain and ask for my money back.
I am still waiting for both the order and the refund... AVOID
I ordered a print, standard shipping, for a new house on July 5. After a period of a few days, I begin tracking shipping, which seems to take forever. I finally see that the package should have been delivered (three weeks after I ordered it); but it hadn't arrived. After making a few calls to FedEx, I learn that Art.com uses a terrible service called Smartpost, which has its own major hitches and problems; it's when FedEx basically ships packages part of the way, then dumps them off at a local post office. Smart Post has its own terrible reviews--apparently sometimes FedEx can dump thousands of packages at a post office at the same time, with little warning. The local post office could not locate my package--I spoke with someone from their mailroom on the phone. I called Art.com; the person on the phone looked at my tracking and insisted the package must have been delivered to my home and perhaps someone else picked it up, although the tracking ONLY showed the package had been delivered to the local post office. After a lot of insisting on my part, she finally agreed to expedite shipping on a new poster (I'm not sure if she was just pretending to claim the package was delivered to get me off the phone, or what). I was completely annoyed, and asked to speak with a manager, who refunded my shipping cost. I received an e-mail that a new order was processed; the e-mail said I would be notified when the package was on its way. Three days later, I had no follow-up e-mail that the order had shipped. I called, and found out the order had shipped, but I was never notified or given a tracking number. The re-shipped poster indeed arrived, thankfully (because I had no tracking number). Someone from Art.com sent me an e-mail after reading this review (which was only one star before) and apologized for the botch. She was also helpful when it turned out I decided to refund the long-awaited print; while I was waiting for it to arrive, I found something else that it turns out I like better. If it wasn't for this art.com staff person, Ashley, being helpful, my review would have remained pretty negative! But Art.com, and other retailers, really should reconsider Smartpost in the first place; and before arguing with customers, they should learn how it works.
My recent order was processed and sent quickly. It was framed well and arrived in great condition. But I was less than impressed with the quality of the giclee print. It was slightly blurry.Other print I have ordered have been fine. So maybe just a fluke?
Easy web-site to navigate, but I am uncomfortable with their constant coupon discounts... hard to know what the real price is from the "sale" price.
While it is hard to find a store to make copies of your chosen sizes, you may try art.com for reproduction. I was amazed by its wide choices of sizes and fast speed. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Incredible Sales and Beautiful Art pieces. I like the option to make your art canvas and that you can choose any border you want. :)
The selection is wide, I found everything I was looking for quickly. Prints are often available in several sizes, and are of good quality. The packaging is good, the shipment is quick, and the prices are reasonable. If you want good art reproductions at reasonable prices, shop here, find a reasonable framer, and enjoy. An excellent experience. My apartment looks a lot better now, and no more Thrift Shop art.
Answer: Don't be fooled, this company is a scam, they don't deliver and don't refund.
Answer: I found a print and wanted to have it mounted and framed.
Answer: They make their 800 number a bit hard to find and be aware that who you start speaking with has little to no escalation power to resolve more complex matters.
