When I began my search for ALF's for my father, I was overwhelmed by all the options out there and didn't really know what to ask when visiting places. Tamara was a great help and very supportive on this journey to get my father (who was resistant to the idea) into a facility that could meet his needs and still allow him some independence. The emails from A Place for Mom were full of helpful articles that made making the decision easier and explained the differences in types of facilities as well as provided good unbiased advice.
I appreciated all of the help and support I got from Tamara and A Place for Mom, I would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering assisted living for a loved one.

When my parents started having difficulty keeping up with household chores, favorite activities, and maintaining their health, my siblings and I knew we needed to intervene. I decided to try A Place for Mom because I had heard a positive review about their services. They did not disappoint! Within a day of speaking to a representative, I was receiving referrals to senior living communities in my inbox. After a few weeks, my siblings and I decided to try home health care. My representative sent referrals to my inbox immediately, and before the business day was done, I had two separate appointments with home health care companies. I appreciated the compassionate, listening ear when I was concerned about my parents' situation. I appreciated the rapidity with which I received needed information and referrals. I appreciated the frequent calls/texts as my representative would reach out for updates. Caring for parents is overwhelming, and A Place for Mom is a great partner as you begin the journey.

I have a parent who made it to 96 years of age eschewing traditional medicine. She had no primary care physician and had made no preparations for the day when she might not be able to live alone at home. Thus, it was necessary for her children to enter the picture and help out when her health took a turn for the worse.

Figuring out the options, costs, and how to approach the situation was difficult. There were so many issues for which we were unprepared.

Through voice calls, text messages, and email exchanges with a wonderful rep named Keri from APFM, we successfully navigated the situation. Today, our mom is in the best possible situation.

I needed to find a place for my younger sister who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's about 8 years ago. She is married and her Husband has been caring for her. He is 81 years old and she is 72. I could see that this was beginning to affect his health and it was time to change things up. As one facility director said to us. It is time for him to back to being her Husband rather than her caregiver. A Place for Mom was so helpful in giving us a list of facilities with good Memory care units and with good track records in our area. There are so many facilities here in South Florida that you need a guide to eliminate the lesser rated ones. They gave us 5 names and I visited them all. They were all nicely appointed, all roughly the same price, but you have to go there, see the rooms and feel the vibe of the place for yourself. We wanted something nice, but not like a high class hotel. Something with a more Homey feel and the residents engaged, laughing and talking, etc.

A Place For Mom was a great resource when my father needed to move to a new Memory Care facility. They jumped right in and found locations that have memory care services and kept reassuring me that we would find the right place for him.

Through out the process of finding the perfect place for my 97 year old dad, the Senior Advisor was extremely helpful, patient and caring. Although my dad was not quite ready to make the advisor reached out to me every few weeks to see how things were going and to offer assistance. I was very pleased with the help and guidance provided by A Place for Mom. Moving an elderly parent is hard on everyone but our experience was made much easier with the compassion and help of our Senior Advisor.
