Van and drivers turned up on time. Had a different job list to the one I had updated online. Was charged £280 extra instead of £60 for a few extra items! Customer services - I had to contact on four occasions before being told there would be no refund as it was my fault I hadn't clarified the changes! No insight into my perspective, their faulty website or the stress and out of proportion extra charge. Very disappointing. I never leave bad reviews - but this feels such a rip off!

Booked in advance paying for specific time slot we needed. End of time slot approaches and no driver. We call driver. He says he is not coming until later and is, in our opinion, rude and unpleasant and unhelpful, and not someone we would want to trust with our stuff or feel comfortable with. We call customer service. Rep seemingly accidentally disconnects us but then phones back. She said driver cannot come as scheduled. She said she will refund us and phone us back to confirm refund completed. She never phones back. Then later we get a text saying driver on way? It was too late and we do not feel comfortable with this driver regardless. We phone back and with rep it is as if job is still on, no refund. More wasting of our time. After we explain this is not on, again, he says he will refund us in full and we will get an email confirming, although will take time before refund shows in our account. What an unpleasant, unprofessional, massive waste of time. I also now feel extremely uncomfortable that the driver has our address. Will never, ever, ever use this company again. AVOID. DON'T DO IT.

Diabolical company

First they turn up 2 hours before agreed time
They are then exremely rude and that is what the manager of the shop said
Then they give a deadline or they were going to another job
The manager refuses to give a refund
The drivers then drive off without taking the goods or telling me
Avoid going anywhere near this bunch of jokers

I filled the online form and got quoted. I received a telephone call from their team and I requested additional stop and disposal to which they added to the original price. I paid the final quote and to my surprise, it did not include any of the additional services I requested. I called them and one " moving expert" told me that my quote did not include any of the additional services. I finally managed to speak to the employee who added the extra services and billed me for, and, surprise surprise surprise, he denies any of that 1 hour conversation. I then asked to speak to his manager who also denied any of those services to have been billed. I asked him to listen to the recorded telephone calls and finally, 3 hours down the line, I received a telephone call from the company saying " after listening to the telephone call, they found out I was correct and that I have paid for those additional services" The customer service employee sounded like he is doing me a favor offering me the services that I already paid for but I managed to have him apologize for the time wasted and their mistake. I must say, however, the movers, who are another smaller company probably subcontracted to Anyvan, where absolutely well mannered and helpful. I would advise to avoid anyvan and go straight to the movers themselves and cut out the middleman.

Please avoid

Gave AnyVan £125 to pick up an oak cabinet and deliver about 18 miles. They got to the job but refused to upload onto van as it was heavy. We were left high and dry. Apparently my fault they didn't have a sack barrow or set of wheels, even though they knew item was heavy and had all the dimensions. Didn't get a refund. Lost all our money. Avoid at all costs. Very unprofessional and extremely shady company. You have been warned.

Rescheduling fee 50%. They never offer a refund even when no services were offered. Why do they take customers money even when no service has been offered. Avoid, avoid avoid avoid. I just lost a lot of money.

Cancelled on afternoon of move

Horrible experience. Do not rely on this company.

Cancelled our move the afternoon of our moving day. Showed no remorse and offered no alternate solutions.

Our move was booked months in advance but when the driver was late, I contacted him with photos of our things, to which he replied he would actually be hours later than the scheduled time. He asked would we prefer to have an alternate driver come in his place so that they could arrive on time, to which we replied that we would. Navaratnam told us that he would arrange this with Anyvan and we would hear from them shortly. We heard nothing.

After waiting on hold for an extended period of time, we were told our driver had taken himself off the job and there would be no drivers coming in his place, but that this was ok because they could send a driver the following week. We were moving from Wales to England with international flights arranged the following day. It was not ok.

Abdul, the customer service representative, proposed no solutions, until I insisted that he call the original mover and reassign him the job. Twice, Abdul said that he had been in contact with the driver who clarified that his pick-up time would now be later than the previous estimate. I told Abdul that we would manage the lateness of the pick-up, we just needed the items moved the day we had agreed upon. Despite Navaratnam having confirmed that he was available to do the move, Abdul did not arrange this to take place, breaching their contract, causing us significant stress and forcing us to bear excessive additional costs in finding an emergency moving company to come immediately.

The only apology that we received was at the end of our last phone call, where we were told 'We are sorry that we have not been able to provide what you had expected from us'.

Having contacted the complaints department, asking only for compensation in the difference of payment we had to make to the emergency company, we were quoted their contract saying that if their drivers are unable to perform their service they would contact us. (Which they did not do). It was also abundantly clear that the driver was able to do the delivery, he simply chose not to.

Other experiences included:
- Being cut-off mid sentence by being put on hold when Abdul disagreed with what I was saying
- Not having our pick-up time confirmed until late in the evening the night before. Despite several phone calls promising this confirmation at an earlier time.
- Needing to call and wait on the customer service line repeatedly when people promised to call back within a defined amount of time and did not.

DREADFUL! I had to use AnyVan as my removal co. Cancelled 36 hours before house completion... AnyVan were available-that's the positive. Long story short: arrived with someone else's enormous sofa, so my stuff didn't fit in! I'd paid £1400+ (Double what my original company wanted) and then at 2.15pmish (hours after the sale had gone through and I was technically in breach of contract) I had to book another van from another company, costing me a further £750! The sofa was then delivered before my stuff and the lorry eventually arrived at my new home at 9.16pm! The additional drivers that I had paid extra for then helped AnyVan operators unload and all lorries left at 1am!
Yes, throughout the day I kept AnyVan aware and they did NOTHING. Theo told me that the lorry was not allowed to carry other people's stuff and spoke to the driver-fat lot of good that did. He then said he'd see if he could get another vehicle to help and he'd get back to me in a couple of hours. Maybe. It's a removal company and everyone knows that moving house is stressful so why add to that stress AnyVan, by being incompetent in the moment? What choice did you leave me with when I was already in breach of contract and could have been sued by the new owner of my ex property!
As I moved just before Christmas I wrote a complaint to AnyVan at the start of the new year-I just couldn't face it ruining my christmas. Outlined some damage that had occurred (I've found more since) but AnyVan took great delight in stating that they weren't responsible as it was outside the one week reporting period. After that, AnyVan did nothing for three weeks despite my reminding them-interesting considering when I made my booking I was plagued by calls, emails and texts and couldn't get rid of them! Then I was offered a paltry sum. Honestly, I was being patient but the figure was so insulting for what they put me through that now I'll review them anywhere I can!
If you want to move one item, fine. For removals, forget it. They are SO expensive compared to other companies and their slogan could not be less true.

I encountered many problems with my move, an easy one bedroom move turned into a couple of days, lots of phone calls and stress. The initial move should had cost me £196 and I ended up paying £389.
The biggest issue I had was been charged an additional £100 as the move was on the 2nd floor. I booked my move over the phone and the salesperson did not ask me what floor the move was on. After writing a formal complaint, the complaint team told me that I should know what information to give when booking and its not their problem.
On the day, when I was charged the initial £100, the customer service lady said that the sales call would be looked into and if the salesperson did not ask what floor the move is on, I would be entitled to a refund.

Mixed communication from various team members in the head office and far from a 'the customer is always right' kind of company.

Anyvan promotes themselves as a cost-effective moving company although they will do anything to squeeze more money out of the customer and refunds are not permitted leaving the customer with no choice to pay the extra fees.

I am at least pleased to say that the removal men did their job very well.

If I could leave zero stars, I would! Stay well clear of this company. We paid them in full to collect some furniture from our shop and move it into storage. They turned up to the job, refused to do it, and then refused to give our money back! The customer service is atrocious and very unhelpful. I HIGHLY recommend you stay away from this company!

Worst experience

I thought Anyvan would be a good service. I was more than sorely disappointed. The movers arrived and couldn't speak English at all. I couldn't communicate with them and they refused to move two items. A wardrobe and a 2 seater sofa, both of which I had moved into the flat fine. I tried to tell them how to remove the items and they didn't even really try. They were not heavy for two people and I even tried to do it myself but I'm disabled and just wasn't able to show them how to remove the items. As I was trying the man took photos of me without even letting me know. I suffer from anxiety and depression so when I logged into my account and saw the pictures I was so upset. I paid money for each item taken. They have refused to refund the money to me. I am struggling financially and I have had to book a different moving team to help me. I'm on disability payment and I really needed a refund. They were not able to provide the service I have paid for. On another note the movers left me at the flat and disappeared for an hour without telling me what was happening. I was waiting at my new property for an hour. When they finally arrived they refused to bring any of the furniture upstairs and put everything in the living room. Leaving as quickly as possible. The whole ordeal was really stressful. I tried to speak to Anyvan where the phone hung up more than 3 times. It took so long to get through. I was told that they would then send the request to the refund team after giving them the photos and they came back with a no? Basically I feel like they have stolen money for a service that was just terrible. I'm feeling very low about the whole thing. This is my first bad review for anything. I'm a really easy going person as I find it tough to be confrontational. I'm very sad!

Would have cost £84 to reschedule, but missed out resale of bike.

If I could give this company minus 5 stars, I would. Moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they made the experience a hundred times worse. It was honestly the most stressful experience I have had in my 37 years. I booked and was told I was on the cusp of needing 2 or 3 vans. I added 30 more boxes to my booking and assumed this would take me to the 3 van minimum. I was called 48 hours before my move and told I'd have 5 people and 2 vans. Happy with this if they thought that's what it would take. Only one van and 3 people arrived, late and this meant we missed our completion time by 4 and a half hours. I had to send the van on to my new home, without having completed (luckily it was a new build and developer was very understanding), my buyer was irrate and wouldn't allow my solicitor to use funds from sale to complete on my purchase until the house was vacant, so I and my 63 year old mum had to empty two thirds of the house out into the garden (2 flights of stairs). The poor team who did turn up had to work until 10pm just to make sure that my stuff was safe and in my new place.
I called AnyVan on the day to let them know what was happening and was told they would get hold of the removals company (yes, apparently AnyVan just work like a broker - not something that was obvious on their website). I waited an hour and never got a call back. I them called again and got a very apologetic sounding lady who promised to call me back the next day, to discuss compensation, but never did. All this left me with a bill from my buyer for their additional removal fees, and other costs, due to missing contractual completion time, without a home that I actually owned (again, I was very lucky that the developer was so understanding), and highly stressed by the while situation.
I complained to AnyVan for their colossal F up and was told that because this was a case of "he said, she said" they would not tale the complaint any further. Disgusting customer service from what appeared to be a good company. Honestly I cannot rate these cowboys poorly enough. Please save yourself a lot of stress and go ANYWHERE else.

Huge mistake going with this company. I was expecting the driver to deliver my items that same day (van was loaded by 11.30am) however, I found out on the day he was thinking about driving the next morning because he had 4 hours sleep in days.
What transpired was that overnight, they transferred all of my items to another van & a different driver delivered the next day. I did not know about this nor agree to it & strangely, it's a breach of their own T&C's which state you have to be present when they load / unload items etc because obviously the guys are more careful if you're there!

Items were put into a storage unit & I've since discovered that they have completely broken the electrical function of my electric reclining sofas & cracked the corner of a TV.

Any van have said that because it's beyond the 7 day window, they are not interested in investigating this even though I explained it went into a storage unit and came out 2 weeks later. The damage will cost me hundreds & not to mention the additional van I had to hire to take the rest of my stuff as they sent a smaller van to the job which could not fit everything.

I am now pursuing this matter via the legal route and advise anyone to stay away from this company. Book directly with the van driver so you know who you're getting & what type of service!

Criminal Activity?

They took a booking for a job they could never had fulfilled.

I am not a car expert. When I requested the job I told them that I had a non-operational hybrid car (due to water damage/flooding).
As the car's electrical system was fried, the electric brake could not be released. There was a manual overide, but it only worked for the front wheels.

After being unable to load the car I spoke to a number of other garages and they knew this would be an issue immediately.
Same applied to the driver of the pick up truck driver who knew that we would not be able to overide the electric brakes.

Any Van have refused any compensation or refund, despite the service not being started or completed. Which is frustrating as it seems anyone with any car knowledge would have known that the job was never possible.

No one turned up for my move. Anyvan refuse the refund and now they constantly try to take money from my bank account. I've contacted my bank to block them from doing this. Avoid them at all costs!

Please don't trust this company - they cancelled twice without telling me and then arrived 4 hours outside of the time slot, 4 days late. Would not offer a refund or compensation. Ruined moving day.

My 80 year old mom used any van when they arrived they said had to pay another £300 on top of the £1400. Already payed as had to walk up a pathway. When delivered to new address tv screen was smashed scratched walls in new home red box smashed to smithereens. The delivery men said it was not them. Who was it?
Also van to small had to leave a lot of items behind.
The next day rang anyvan to claim as mom had the platinum service.
Chap said could not get into computer but would ring back Monday but didn't
I called 5 days later to be told Inshurance was only 5 days. When you move there's a lot to do and we're never made aware of this 5 day Inshurance
Anyvan spoke to drivers and they denied everything even the smashed plastic box. So the platinum service means absolutely nothing. Anyvan just took the delivery men's word and nothing else
I even e mailed the CEO to which I still have no reply 3 weeks later they fobed mom of with another insurance company where there's £250 excess to pay.
(Please avoid this company at any cost)"
