Amazon.ca is dominated by 3rd party sellers, they take no responsibility for. Besides often experiencing really long shipping times, Amazon fails to tell its members on these 3rd party listings that should an item need to be returned the buyer must pay the return shipping which is often as much or more then the item purchased. Being a prime member I'd expect quick shipping times and not to have to pay to return an item. We're also finding that everything such as prime video which used to be completely free is now charging for almost everything, we purchased Amazon's Blink Security Camera's only to be told after a year we now need to pay a subscription or they are rendered useless. Amazon has become a greedy sub par online retail service, sad because they were great in the beginning. I'm finding that many other online platforms offer the same products at a much lower cost. Contacting Amazon.ca direct via telephone due to an issue has become futile, the customer service is so poor, those answering calls often are difficult to understand, often have no idea what policies are, often refuse to escalate the issue to a supervisor refusing to do so and hanging up, this has become common place in the last year. Up until 2022 I had very few issues but 2022 has been the worst ever and the attitude is on Amazon's part is one of they don't care. I've literally spent thousands of $ in the last 2 years in particular, that's coming to an end I will do very little from now on with Amazon.ca due to the issues we've experienced, poor quality, defective items mostly d/t 3rd party sellers and now no recourse to return items that are poor quality, defective, damaged in shipping or simply not suitable unless we as a buyer pay expensive shipping fee's. I'm over Amazon's BS and its poor customer service. I cannot recommend them as an online retail platform anymore!

Worst Customer Service
November 18, 2022

Double billing. Undelivered and late products. Extremely difficult returns process. And an entirely absent customer service experience. I've never had more difficulty contacting a company. After multiple attempts and many unrelated canned responses I had to file a credit card charge-back. Do not recommend.

Police harassment
November 14, 2022

I called Amazon because I got a link in my text message that I needed to update my account information on November 13 2022. So I did click the link that was sent I wrote some of my personal account information but then didn't feel I should fill it out because I felt it was weird I just placed an order on Saturday November 12. So I found it strange that I got this text message telling me to update my account information? So when I called amazon I got transferred to the Canadian office and the woman wasn't being clear after asking her numerous times what she meant about me giving them information but she wasn't clear and I asked her like 3 times about what she meant if it was putting information on the text message I was sent or me clicking on the link. I'm not sure what her problem was when I asked her numerous times to be specific only when I said to her I never sent any text to anyone but I did click the link I said it numerous times and still she wasn't being specific and it's a serious matter as she was telling me it was a fraudulent text. So your not going to communicate what you mean clearly,? So I had to say to her yes I did click the link and did put in some of my information but I couldn't remember if I put in my CVV number or not? But because I'm under police harassment this was in possible. As the police are monitoring my phone there deleting stuff so your telling me there allowing suspicious activity on my phone absolutely not. It's the police and people claiming to be Amazon workers. Your telling me your claiming that the link is fraudulent and your not going to explain yourself properly is more than suspicious.

Used to have outstanding customer service, now they nitpick when you have a minor request.

Princess Auto and discount retailers will fill Amazon's void soon.

Adios, former great company!

Prime member shipping next day false leading
November 6, 2022

I ordered something was marked the next day my order was made on November 4 and still dint get it
Amazon explained that the next day means that the product is ship from the warehouse not the day you will receive it we are now November 6 basically faster to get it from store because if you know how to count if you need to pickup from Purolator or take day off it will cost you the same price at the store with no headache plus no surprise with the quality you have it in front of you
Amazon seams to sell lower quality products or older models products not sell anymore Olmos like it was buy from auction or repo from bankruptcies

I want to let everyone know about Amazon. Ca. They are bunch of cheaters and liars. I signed up for a Introductory Prime Membership for a thirty days due to Amazon repeated reminders. I cancelled it before the expiration of introductory deadline. Amazon has kept charging my credit card for monthly payments inspite of notifying on multiple phone conversations with Amazon and Credit card customer service. I ended up cancelling three new cards but these charges are ongoing every month. By Amazon. I went literally through hell dealing with Amazon and HSBC mastercard customer service but of no resolution... so I cancelled our mastercards as well.

Worst user experience ever
October 31, 2022

I ordered a new Breville espresso machine as a gift on amazon.ca. It is an expensive item but it came to the person who has a special occasion in an absolutely inappropriate state. The box was damaged and dirty, everything inside the box was also filthy and with numerous traces of use. The receiver of this gift came home specifically to get this gift and you can imagine her disappointment. I was very embarrassed. So, I contacted Amazon Support immediately. At first, they said that the best they can do is replace the item and give me a $10 promo balance, also to send this used item back I had to drop it off myself which I find completely unfair (the machine weights 11 kilos). I wasn't satisfied and in the end, they were ready to give me a $30 promo balance and refund the UPS pick-up service. The other two options were to get a full refund or to get a 30% discount and keep the used item. The next day I contacted the support again and to my greatest surprise, there was no trace of the earlier conversation. Amazon didn't store it. So, I had to explain the situation from scratch. In addition to that, the terms they offered the next day were even worse – no pickup available, 10$ promo balance, or 25% discount to keep the used item. I was really furious and escalated the problem. The support guy promised me a call from a senior assistant within 48 hours but nobody called. Then, I had to contact them AGAIN. In the end, I finally got a call but it was completely useless. The only thing they helped me with was the report for the technical issue of the lost chat conversation. All the proofs of the initial terms they had offered were in that chat. Extremely awful user experience. First of all, Amazon Support chat itself is really bad: you can't attach pictures there, they don't provide any chat reference for further convenience, and turned out they don't store chat history either. Besides that, the support team behaves really inconsistently and sometimes even rudely: the terms they offer change over time; they don't keep their promises; terms, in general, are so bad, nobody cares about customer time and health. In the future, I will definitely avoid amazon.ca and amazon.com as diligently as I can.

Price Gouging
October 24, 2022

Amazon Canada must stop sellers from selling products at obvious price gouging prices. Some people especially elderly people may be unknowing buy these rediculous prices. I'm not talking about a product that is $5 or $10 too high. I'm talking about products (for example) that typically sell for $20 but are being sold for $60 or more. Sure, there is buyer beware. Amazon Canada and probably US as well make it look like Amazon supports these outrageous prices.

I was in disbelief when customer service twice hung up the phone on me when I asked them for my refund back to my credit card as they lost my package for the 4th time. I can't believe I am writing this as I always thought their service was top-notch until today. The first time I ordered a package, it said it was 'undelivered' so I called them up and they gave me a gift balance to order it again. The second and third time, it was delivered to someone's home (They showed a picture of a home that wasn't mine). I submitted a report, added extra delivery instructions, and they assured me it will go to the right address this time. The fourth time, there was no picture and it said it was handed to a resident. When I received that notification, I immediately called them and said who did you give it to as it sure wasn't handed to me. They told me to wait 24 hours and then call back. When I did, they told me: "the unusually high number of lost orders that you have reported exceeds this occasional expectation". I kept saying I didn't receive the package and they basically called me a liar and hung up. Not once but twice. I called my credit card to report that transaction and disputing it with my credit card as I speak. The credit card company told me if they didn't ask me for a signature then there is no proof it was handed to me. The way they dealt with me was the worst way a company handles the situation. Never using AMAZON CANADA AGAIN.

I have been purchasing items once or twice from Amazon.ca for years and now find out they are charging me a Prime Membership. When talking to Customer Service they informed me they would take off the last charge, but not the two charges before. If my memory serves me well, i forgot to untick the Prime Membership box on a order three months ago. When i noticed the error i cancelled the order and reordered with the box unticked. Today when talking to Customer Serviced i was informed they will reimburse me the last Prime Membership payment but not the other two, that slipped through unnoticed on my MasterCard. I did mention that the Prime Membership should be a box you tick not untick as it is to easy to slip through unnoticed. However, my confirmation does show that it is a Prime Membership purchase. All three of my orders do not show it is a Prime Member Purchase? Ask to speak the to Manager, but the Customer Service Rep. Said i couldn't because it goes against him?

What is wrong with Amazon? Every package we have tried to receive has either been stolen or lost from Intelcom. What is wrong with Amazon. Tried to talk to a so called "supervisor" Isreal who was useless and extremely rude to upset customers. Do better Amazon you are horrible especially when it comes to customer compaints. Train your "supervisors" better and STOP USING INTELCOM they LOSE EVERY PARCEL

Ever since Amazon.ca had been using Intelcom, the deliveries have been consistently getting delayed or even lost or products damaged. Amazon needs to cut ties with Intelcom.

Thursday, 15 September - my usual complaint
September 18, 2022

Delivery by Amazon. Thursday, 15 September - my usual complaint with idiot driver that is too simple minded to close and latch the gate opened by said driver to deliver. Amazon customer service is such a joke - complaint about delivery is not an option but it is the usual complaint... I don't know why Amazon delivery drivers seem to be the only ones that are so ignorant. If they REALLY wanted to help they would make it easier to contact them - instead they hope the circle jerk around will just make you quit and give-up. Every time I weaken and give Amazon another chance I get some good delivery drivers for a couple of orders and then inevitably the morons are back.

Delivery fraud
September 11, 2022

I ordered 2 packages at 2 weeks intervals and my first delivery wasn't at my door and the delivery person signed for me. Second package same thing. No packages and fraud by delivery company. Now I have to fight a billion dollar company for what's not received. See delivery screenshots, the Second person signed N/A and I had written to never leave at door! I was home right beside the door all day! Beware of delivery from Amazon! UPDATE SEPT 26TH 2022: They washed their hands of the matter, they don't care even if I have proof! They said they could close my account and never order from there again as a threat. I told them to please do it because they are dishonest to say the least! I'm not stopping, you know me, I know I'm right so I am fighting!

I ordered a Chemical Guys waterless wash and wax kit for almost $80 on Amazon and when it arrived, I found I had a difficult time opening the pump spray bottle. I did notice it was a bit greasy by the nozzle but thought maybe that's normal. Once I finally got it open a horrifically stinky odor escaped and the damn thing had been used. That's so disappointing and gross! I emailed the Chemical Guys to let them know and I've contacted Amazon customer service and requested a refund. This means I got to go out of my way to print out a return label and drive to gawd knows where to return this gross thing. Its so upsetting... obviously Amazon doesn't care about what they ship out.
As I was repacking, I noticed a grease spot inside the box as well.

Amazon sucks!
August 23, 2022

So I made an order waited 2 weeks to get it which was a week and a half past its due date and it never came. I tried to contact seller but they had left Amazon so I could not contact them.
When I look at the tracking on Amazon it says in big bold letters you package may be lost you can ask for a refund, I have a picture and everything yet Amazon writes back to say that they see its been delivered! So tell me anyone who can read that picture I posted do you see anywhere it says my package has been delivered?

You need to be careful
August 17, 2022

When shopping on this website you really need to be careful. Vendors on this website will mark up a product readily available elsewhere by 50%-100% more in hopes of making a quick profit on the unsuspecting shopper. Most items come directly from Chinese factories and take months to arrive with incredibly difficult hoops to return the product should it be required to do so. There are things available at competitive prices, but you really must exercise your due diligence and compare prices of the item you're looking for else where. Amazon.ca is not to be trusted.
