This is such a piece of trash, that i cannot fully describe to you how much of a waste of your time and money this is. It supports made up claims, and educates you on bull$#*! nonsense. You will never use any information you learn in real life because they have created there own way of doing math. If you wish to learn the truth you must first understand that before humans the concept of math did not exist. Humans created math to measure and perceive the world around them. The creators of alek's perception of math is ignorant and fictional. TRUTH SEEKERS AND SCHOLARS BE WEARY OF THE SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION.
I hate aleks so much! DON'T LEARN ANYTHING! Don't do it! Aleks is the worst. Paper and pencil is more effective!
Aleks is a stupid site and is the cause of me failing math and id rather suck off steven hawking than doing aleks.
This website is absolute $#*!. It doesn't teach you anything, and most teachers make your points on Aleks over half your percentage grade. One star is being too nice.
Why was it created Mc whatever your name is. It is a dumb site that only schools like which sucks. Almost everyone is with me on this. CAN ALEKS GO AWAY?
This is me being as nice as I can. ALEKS is a complete waste of time. If you're the creator of this webpage, I hope your life is as unpleasant as you are. If you're a teacher that makes his/her students use this program, I don't have you and I already despise you with a burning passion. ALEKS is like an abusive relationship. It doesn't help you at all and once you're through with it you'll be running around praising whatever deity you worship. The best advice I can give to teachers who are even considering considering using the rage-inducing program, is DON'T. EVERYONE WILL HATE YOU
Who on earth thought this site was an actual good idea? The inteface doesn't make any sense, the site gives you wrong answers even if you put in the right ones, it's menial and slow, and honestly not worth the domain it has chosen as its lair.
The creator of this site is named Jean-Claude Falmagne. A. K. A Satan.
This site causes stress on sunday nights and when I write the correct answer it says its wrong. This site is a piece of shiz
RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN. THERE IS NO DESCRIBING THE AGONY OF THIS PROGRAM. IT DOES NOT TEACH, IT SENDS YOU BACK UNNECESSARILY. ITS THE NEVER ENDING STORY FOR STUDENTS, BECAUSE ALEKS WILL NEVER LET YOU LEAVE. ITS THAT CRAZY PARENT WHO CHAINS THEIR CHILD IN THE BASEMENT SO THEY CANT GET AWAY. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.
How do you people sleep at night running a site like this?
Do you feel good about defrauding and extorting students?
I gave it two stars because you actually DO learn the concepts but only after hours spent on one 5-question topic that wont let you move on because you keep misplacing a sign or number on the last problem. Professors now use this as an excuse to barely teach you. My professor runs through his notes, takes no questions, and says to check ALEKS for any issues you have as he leaves a trail of smoking footprints out the door. ALEKS has bad explanations that often skip steps that the site randomly deems menial for some reason then suggests you ask your professor for anything in-depth you need explained. It's required in all math courses now also.
Also: Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is more infuriating then ALEKS MAKING you move on when youre not getting a topic. At least give me the option to continue trying, coming back to it later means I just forget more.
Its just so annoying It really doesn't help anything I still have to do it every week and its just lots of stress because I don't have time for this I'd rather be doing 30 problems a day then this stuff
I would rather be in a f#cking gas chamber then doing this sh! T aleks is the definition of communism, Natism racism. It is the most $#*! website ever. It has ruined my f#cking math class forever and my math teacher who is forcing us to do it needs to s#ck on a D! Ck and Get Burned to death i would rather be dead then do this sorry excuse of a f#cking website worst website in the word goes to aleks
It's a garbage program made by an 85 year old professor who hasn't been in school for 65 years. His name is Dr. Jean-Claude Falmagn. I wish the worst of the worst on you, Dr. Jean-Claude Falmagn. I would happily rejoice if you got slowly murdured with a butter knife while somebody was slowly ripping your finger nails and teeth out with a set of old, rusty pliers, while someone else was ripping your lips off and whipping you with a whip that had a steel spike at the end of it.
Last semester, I used Aleks and it was wonderful. Well now, Aleks has a RAT on their team and that RAT has gone in and made changes in the software for this semester. I had 29 learned topics. I didn't do so well on the assessment and it took my previous work away from me and sent me to 18 topics and erased my report card, LYING about how many topics I've learned. I've learned 29 and you're changing your mind to say that now I've only learned 18?! I got so mad I voiced my concerns with professor last night. It's almost end of the 8 week semester and I have WAY TOO MUCH going on to play this cat and mouse game with ALEKS. That RAT has got to go. I freaking hate this system now. It used to help me. What a shame! You punish students for scoring badly on the assessments. Schools, if you're considering Aleks, DO NOT USE THEM! RUN FROM THEM!
I'm not good at math and never have been, so I was actually a little excited to use this program to help me in college. Well I can tell you right now that this program is absolute garbage. Instead of teaching me anything, I feel like I'm constantly being punished for not knowing any of the stuff being taught. Every topic consists of 3-5 questions you have to get right in a row. If you miss one then you get a point taken away, sometimes resulting in you starting back over at one.
It's an asinine way of learning. I honestly have no problem with it, because I understand the program wants us to know this stuff before moving on. My problem is that the explanations given are horribly explained and make no sense. It at least takes several minutes just to decipher what they're trying to explain to me, then another 20 minutes just to constantly switch between the problems and explanation. On top of that, every 6-8 hours (within the program) you have to take a knowledge check. Well, if you already feel like you're being held back, here comes another obstacle for you. Knowledge checks takes everything you've been doing since the last knowledge check and makes you do a 25 question quiz/test. At the end of it, it tells you how many topics you've mastered so far, and how many topics you have to go back and relearn. No explanation on what you missed. No opportunity to see how you missed a question or even what question you missed. It doesn't help that you have a time limit within each week to meet, and on top of that you have a certain topics goal every few weeks, and failing to meet that really messes your grade up.
All in all, the program is horrible. It's a terrible way to teach anyone how to do anything. I feel like I'm learning to deal with the constant anxiety and stress of not passing instead of any actual math. If your college says they offer Aleks, do not take it. I'm serious. It's a terrible program and it's made my life very, very stressful. Like everyone else here, I hate this program. I can't wait to have math over with just so I don't have to use it anymore. Aleks is a perfect example of terrible design.
This program sucked. The explanations were completely blunt. Didn't tell me what I go wrong. The way it explained it made it 100xs worse. I can't wait for this semester to over so I won't have to use the trash ever again
I really like how this program rewards success by deleting it once you have a sign error on the next problem. Repetitive testing really drives home the concepts. Not. If you ask for help in this program, you get points deducted. Makes so much sense to pay out the@$$ for this program to tell you you're wrong. Teachers are so keen on using this program because they rely on it to teach you, but all this does is further the corruption of learning by testing rather than teaching. Question after question, test after test, and for what? Am I supposed to learn something from that? Absolute garbage, and as others have said, if you see a professor is using this program, drop it IMMEDIATELY.
Aleks poisoned my water supply, burned my crops, and delivered a plague into my house. To anyone struggling with aleks, mathway.com is heaven sent.
For real i hate wasting $100 on this site every semester when i don't learn anything from it and i want to die every time i use it.
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
