Programmed by a brainless $#*! sniffer with intentions to slowly torture it's users. Creator deserves the Pear of Anguish while being roasted alive inside a Brazen Bull with a Heretic's Fork around their neck whilst Justin Bieber music plays deafeningly loud in the background.
For the past eight years of my life, I've been searching for ways to empty my soul via inflicting physical and psychological pain upon myself in the most dramatic ways possible. I've tried watching horror movies on acid, sleeping in red ant nests, and sticking my penis in a pencil sharpener, but so far nothing has been as effective as ALEKS! While it didn't seem too exciting at first, the bland formatting, endless questions, and the fact that after a knowledge check I often have to do everything again left me a soulless husk in just two weeks! I strongly recommend this to anyone wanting to rid their life of joy, passion, and emotion. Also great for art professors who don't care about their students education.
You guys need to fix it make it easier you son of a $#*!. They are sucking $#*! and this website to. Fix it $#*! heads. It super frustrating and $#*!y
Based on the reviews I have seen so far, I'd like to think that everyone agrees aleks sucks. When you're forced to do hours of tedious work on a bland and repetitive website, it makes me want to literally die. This piece of crap website is just an excuse to give students tons of extra stress. Like wtf don't ever assign this as work to people.
A word of advice, if any professor tells you they're going to use this website, drop the class immediately. The only positive experience I've had with this program is reading the reviews. It's a bit reassuring to know there are other people out there who have struggled through this with me.
This website is an absolute scam. You'll be forced to spend over 10 hours a week working on what they call "My Path". In my experience, each of these weekly paths is about 75 topics you have to learn, then complete AT LEAST 2 problems each. I say at least, but wow. Good luck. If you miss one problem, you don't just not get the point. You LOSE progress. I hope whichever absolute $#*!head came up with this system is castrated with a razor. You lose progress for typos, any tiny mistake like flipping a sign, ANYTHING. You don't even get one chance to fix it. Click on the wrong button? Too bad. ALEKS shows no mercy. So, while there are 75 topics, with each being at least 2 questions, usually 3, and with any small mistake requiring you to do an additional 1-2 problems, you'll probably be doing about 400 problems a week. That's almost seven hours of work, assuming each one only takes one minute. If you actually manage to finish the thing, you still aren't done. Don't forget you have another assignment due tomorrow. At this point in the review I can't even be angry. I'm just miserable. Those six five star reviews? Those were all ALEKS staffers.
Thanks to this website I probably won't graduate college, but I'm already in debt.
Why do they take points from the question u already answered? If you get a question right and move to next one but fail it, these stupid $#*!s just take back the point u earned from the previous question. Your hard work was for nothing. They should change it so that if u fail a question no points should be deducted. If they deduct point they are just taking of credit u earned in the other question. Why do they interrupt with this knowledge check? Shouldn't you be able to choose when to do a knowledge check? I hate this filth the more I use it. They don't explain anything or topic well, ugh they are just $#*!ing nuts. They give u an explanation and then they give u an entirely different problem u never came across in the examples while expecting you to suddenly know it.
ALEKS is probably the worst experience I've ever encountered it my entire adult life. The program seems like a good idea in theory, but in reality causes me countless loss of hours and sanity. It's a simple math software that requires you to get 2 or 3 questions correct in a row to pass a lesson. This doesn't seem like much, but once you consider the factor that missing a question, causes you to miss the current question, AND the question you previously answered CORRECTLY, it's very easy to get annoyed. To me, this makes no sense at all, who's brilliant idea was it to say, "Hey, how about if somebody get's a question wrong, lets not only take away the point for that question, lets take away the point from the previous question too!" Anybody who doesn't have the patience of God himself will fall victim to this site's evil trap. The only use for this is for lazy teachers and college professors that don't make their own work.
Strait up bad. I was forced to do this. I quickly did it, and i would not suggest it to others. Warning
I am taking the same math class for the third time now at my college and even though i didn't try the as hard as I should have the first two times. Now i have sacrificed work and a great deal of social life not for every class but particularly math but it never changes with this bull$#*! program. My last math teacher even told me behind closed doors that Aleks is just someone making money and it is the most unorganized time consuming thing ill EVER do in college. I am 21 with what i consider a very open personality and a great deal of psychology but Aleks has led me to the point where I've thought about suicide and because i can't pass this monkey $#*! of a program that's supposed to "help me understand math better" whats the point wasting money on a degree? Aleks is literally a trap to catch people who don't comprehend math as well as others and just leave those people like me to burn in hell. Lastly, I finally see why our education system is corrupt and Aleks is just another factor into that equation.
Because its a waist of time. We do aleks to prep for a test, when we should be reviewing for it not getting random questions we dont understand.
THIS IS A WAY TO GET STRESS
As a student forced to do Aleks, I'll say it straight out. Aleks sucks. I don't know if I can speak for everyone, but most of the teachers in my school use this as the only learning tool. The starter examples they use are easy to do, then they give you a question WAY harder than the example. The explanations are NOT clear. I have to constantly go on Khan Academy for help. Also, my teacher isn't good with computers. My $#*! keeps saying that I can't take quizzes or Knowledge checks because I have "limited access". Wtf, Aleks? Are you that autistic? Can you not at least make it easy for the teachers to grant access to that? All the other students can access theirs.
Lastly, I can speak for everyone here, nobody likes Aleks. Your program sucks. Students don't like it. Literally, every student in my school hates it.
THIS WEBSITE IS $#*!ING TRASH. EVERYTIME I GET ON ALEKS I FEEL LIKE IM TRAPPED INSIDE OF A CONCENTRATION CAMP. ALSO I BROKE 17 COMPUTERS IN MY CAREER OF USING THE ALEKS WEBSITE. THOSE 17 COMPUTERS COST OVER 10K! NOW I AM IN DEBT AND MY MOTHER ISNT TALKING TO ME ANYMORE :( AND MY GRANDMAN TOLD ME TO BURN IN HELL. AND FINALLY THIS WEBSITE GAVE ME CANCER. RIP ME. BTW MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND HAPPY HANUKKA! HAVE A NICE LIFE :)
All this site does is give you hard problems that you don't understand. Kahn Academy is better than this site.
The worst "learning" program to ever come to existence. Unfortunately, my chemistry professor thought it was necessary to remove the old system and replace it with ALEKS. And let me tell you, that was by far the worst mistake he ever made. It's just flat-out tedious, with an endless supply of questions for each topic. And if you make a mistake, rather than being forgiven, you lose a point in your progress bar and start over. Now think about that times 250 or how much you gotta do. That's not even the worst part, either. At some points, you get a "Knowledge Check" which just sends you right back where you left off before wasting your time on learning pointless subjects. You can't avoid this option, either. It's as if the program doesn't want you to succeed. And thanks to this, I'm not succeeding. The deadline is on the rise and I'm forced to set back important matters to finish this, even though it seems impossible at this point. What an incredible waste of money; it doesn't help you learn anything in class, and just adds more weight to your shoulders. Good luck if your professor announces this in class, because you're in for one hell of a ride.
This is THE WORST "learning" program in all my years of schooling. HORRIBLE technique, information that is NOT learned in class WHATSOEVER. This is just another attempt for a company to make money off students and pass off responsibility of instruction FROM an instructor and to a worthless computer program. WORST EVER!
$#*! this $#*! this low key may be the worst teaching tool out there, when my school used to use books more students would be passing but now since the math program was implemented there are more people failing, IT $#*!ING SUCKS!
ALEKS is almost a never ending homework site that in some schools can be 50% of their math grade. You have to do that in top of the homework you all ready have. Never to forget those random, time wasting knowledge checks that can be 25-30 questions long. Most students are having extreme levels of stress due to the endless amounts of homework.
So $#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!
I don't know what to say. This website; it's a piece of $#*!. The curriculum is broken. Someone might use it, wanting to feel or become smarter in math. There's nothing wrong with that. But since it punishes you for wrong answers, throws in bizarre "Knowledge Checks" after you can rest to master just a few topics, the tutorials make you feel like you're an idiot, and rewards can make it seem like it thinks you're some 8 year old, in the end you'll feel even more like a piece of $#*! that can't do math. The QuickTables character's designs are so bland and out of proportion, and there are only 4 characters for Quicktables. Often, when you are solving problems; either on your "path" or on QuickTables, you'll put in the right answer and get the problem wrong. Then, of course, you suffer a huge penalty. If you get enough problems wrong, it "drafts" you to a new topic that's most of the time even more difficult than the previous topic. It will make you feel terrible. The design of the website is very empty and boring, the QuickTables games are very boring and pretty easy; QuickTables gives you a few seconds to solve basic arithmetic, but the answering system is rigged and broken. There isn't much to do on ALEKS, it's extremely boring and if you're struggling you're forced to take the long run and force yourself to figure it out. I wouldn't recommend this website to anyone, especially since there's no main goal; just learn 377 topics by the end of a semester. ALEKS can take it's trashy websites and stick it up it's bumhole. I'm surprised that McGraw Hill actually bought the ALEKS Corporation; better to take down the website than buy it for a cheap price.
This system is an utter waste of money, and it does NOT teach you a single thing. Explanations are confusing, cluttered, and not helpful. You will regret purchasing this system.
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
