My school uses "ALEKS" for math and it was supposed to be a good program and, boy they where very worng about that! To be honest, I rather go to khan academy than dealing with this dog crap. This program is not as bad as edgenuity but, GOD THIS GOES TO my second list!. Though, I didn't buy the program but, my school did. It still doesn't gloss the fact that it will mentally and physically drain you in a bad way, not a good way. It's like school be trusting or assuming that it's okay to use this. I wish that most school would research on what they are using because they don't seem to realize how draining this can get. To make an analogy out of this is that doing Aleks is like waking up to see your stressful nightmare fuel and be a all nighter then u would kill ur self because the program suppress us to speak up because school won't listen. Good thing It's only math alone and not any more subjects because of the knowledge check it has too much stuff in there.

To explicitly sum this up THIS IS THE RANKING #2 OF MY PLACE ON THE MOST DOG WATER PROGRAM!

It is just so $#*!ing annoying and makes you do 5 questions and if you get one wrong it goes from yellow to red and first they give you three question if you got yellow to red you have to do 5 questions its so $#*!ing stupid and it is just pure torture, dont buy it

I use aleks and i just wanna say that it is absolute dog food. There is absolutely no explanation as to how to do any of the topics given and on top of that it'll give you the exact same question if you got it wrong the first time. Now to whomever made the Aleks program with all due respect (so none) please go screw yourself. There is not a single pro in this program that i can think of. Every part of it is frustratingly difficult and a huge displeasure. I would rather work at a chuck e cheese and have kids constantly bug me all day than spend anymore time on your garbage site. Fix your UI and make something better.

We use this at our school and it leaves me feeling very stressed and worried that it will not pass the class cause I have to finish my pie to do so

I was forced into doing this for years. First of all, they has the most crappy explanations of all time. Secondly, Alek try's to teach you stuff that's not even your grade level……………………

It is basically an app the gives you nothing to work on. I once got a porn ad on the stupid website.

This program is total crap. Every time you get a problem wrong it punishes you by making you do more of the same problem you clearly don't know how to do. The explanations are totally useless and give you the problem with super vague steps with little to no explanation of what happens in each step. The only way you can possibly hit the topic requirement is to halt all progress you making on actually learning and flunk your knowledge check so you can redo the same topics over and over. As a result, my grade is fine but I haven't learned a single topic in months because the teacher just tells you to read the explanation and try again. I'm not going to complete my credits because this program was designed in a way to punish you for doing poorly and expect you to do better without actually teaching you anything at all. If you or anyone you know is considering using, or going to a school that uses this program then I would highly recommend you do not. It is a total waste of time and money and should be banned from use.

As such others have described this website, it's terrible, the system of scoring is easy to exploit, because that's the only way to truly get past the later questions as somebody not interested in math, or at a college level of math. Teachers who use this... please, do not. As many others have noted, it makes us feel stupid, and dulls our interest in math. Us students, I mean.

This app has a lot of potential, but it limits the learning of a student. My peers and I have trouble with some of the format and the explanation is just not helpful. Explain the question like you would explain to a 7-year-old. The questions are above our levels of knowledge. Can you fix some of this, please?

If you are assigned this your life will get so much worse, you saw the other reviews it's absolutely horrible. It rots your brain, makes you feel stupid. And you will get caught in a spiral trying to finish impossible topics because you need to meet a topic goal or finish a pie.

Aleks is a site that makes students learn how to get passed a problem, but not actually understand it. The problems provide explanations that are not near thorough enough and even if a concept is understood if you make any little mistakes, this could mean you have 10 more minutes on the same problem that you already understand, keeping you from other topics. It is very inefficient and for students with busy schedules that don't have 15 hours for homework each week, it is not a realistic or efficient teaching tool. This makes busy students try to fake their way past problems to get it done quicker, rather than actually being able to understand it. As a student, I have spent 45+ minutes before on one singular topic that I completely understand, but may just make little copying errors. ALEKS does do a really good job increasing stress and frustration though, so if that's what you're looking for ALEKS may be for you.

Ever since i haved started using aleks in the 6th grade this website made me want to kill myself. This website is the equivalent of the tenth circle of hell. Satan has probably made this website to torture and make students want to hate themselves for the fun of it. Everything is bad about it, the questions, the assignments, the knowledge checks make the website terrible. Everytime you get a problem wrong it just basically tells you to go f**k yourself. This doesn't help you learn at all, it just makes you want to do something other than aleks. This is the reason why i hate math. Who ever made this website should just burn in hell and suffer and make us students enjoy life to the fullest. F**k you aleks.

Aleks doesn't teach you its more of a test site/ khan academy teaches you with videos and fun activities.

If you are reading this, don't use ALEKS. It is the worst! (and not because I hate math or anything) Even if you do all your topics right, if you fail the dreaded "knowledge check" you have to basically start over. In the site at the beginning there are pictures of kids smiling while doing ALEKS. What it should really be is a picture of me with my head on my knees crying in front of a computer. It has caused me depression and caused me to fall behind in math for a while. PLEASE teachers, don't make the same mistake my school did by forcing us to do ALEKS. While it says it will get your students ahead when really, the explanations are confusing and (according to my math teacher) sometimes wrong. Last year, I didn't have all of my topics done because the knowledge checks were nothing like the topics. My grade dropped to a C+ and I got in huge trouble. Until my parents realized how bad this is. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASe (I'm begging you) to pick a better program.

Sure being personalized SEEMS like a good idea, until teachers go to grade. It takes some students HOURS to complete something others do in half an hour. It is extremely unfair to those who spend around 12 hours to complete 200 topics when some complete it in 2-3. Not to mention Aleks's deadlines are insane when it is supposed to be a "personalized program". The knowledge checks shouldn't be there either except for ways to skip through a bunch of topics that are unnecessary or slowing people down. Time consuming topics should count as multiple things, and the work needs to count towards more progress instead of some problems taking 30 seconds and some taking 15-20 minutes and being worth the same.
Please remove or update this program, for if i could, i would give it zero stars.

This site is absolutely $#*!ING absurd. Its litteraly the cause of cancer and causes aids, bipolar, chlamydia, explosive $#*!ting, arson, itchy balls, suicidal thoughts, in grown toenails, the loss of loved ones, and blindness of the eyes, nose, and mouth, and large odd shaped bumps on your $#*!. I hope the dollar general adolf dies because someone got the sense and shoved a screw driver up that man, no cancer cells $#*!.

Aleks does not care about your progress. It's just a quick grab for making money while teachers sit on their lazy asses so they can make their lives easier while you work your $#*! off studying just to fall behind from the knowledge checks. The site brings you behind if you do not get the right answer even if you did the problem right but just missed a sign and I have wasted hours staying on the same problem only to be 1 problem away from finishing, but no it's never enough. "Well, you're responsible for your learning not us" says teachers who have never even used the program before. The site doesn't help it's just all for money and teaches math in the most boring monotonous way imaginable. It's nothing special by a long shot, dare I consider it garbage. As finals approach I was struck yet again with another one of the "knowledge checks" that are just automatic and make you go over twice the work you will need to use on the tests you take. Aleks is just going to waste your time and your money and if you have the option, don't get it. It is clear all they want is money and do not actually care about money considering you get hield behind for not knowing the information when you could spend your time going over the same things you missed without any losses of all the progress you made. It is so frustrating knowing everything I tried to learn all comes crashing down just because I missed one sign.
