We booked with this rip off company we never received any conformation from them so we booked with the hotel for the same price. When we arrived we were told we had two bookings so the hotel cancelled agoda yet they still took our money, funny how you can never get hold of them. Now in dispute with Mark& Spencer to get our money back and they are just as bad. DO NOT USE BOOK DIRECT WITH HOTEL

I just made a booking through Agoda, there price was listed as $809.10 for the weekend with no cancellation as it was the cheapest price, after I had already booked and gave credit card details I then got an email saying I needed to pay $1160, I then called the place I had booked and they had never even heard of Agoda and had no contract with them, it came up as through booking.com, leaving me to pay the $1160.

Don't do it
July 7, 2020

Dont do it. They charged my card for the room then the day I was supposed to check in they sent a cancellation email and blamed the hotel but the hotel said they received a call from agoda requesting that our rooms be cancelled then Agoda lied and said our cards were unverifiable. They cancelled both my and my sisters reservation. NEVER GIVE THESE PEOPLE A CHANCE. Unless you want to sleep outside.

Avoid at all costs
June 29, 2020

Had a non refundable booking, hotel won't refund due to covid 19 and agoda says their hands are tired. Very difficult to contact them by email and by phone which never goes through. No resolution after over 6 hours collectively finally a phone call back from a person representing agoda called Nazar. Very condescending and kept repeating the same thing that is of no help. Keeps asking me to contact hotel which is Sakura Osaka in Japan, who do not answer their phone. Please do not book at this place either. I can't reach them by phone and I was told to rebook 7 days prior to my stay however I can't even travel in the foreseeable future so im not even sure what date im suppose to rebook. Rebooking gap is also charged so it's not free to reschedule and they won't refund. Agoda asks me what can they do? They do not look after their customers and disgusting customer service. I've been booking through agoda for over 5 years and the first time I have an issue, has been a nightmare. Please BEWARE and avoid them. It's not worth it. Our flights are cancelled and we can't fly to the destination however the hotel and agoda. Couldnt care less. I will not be booking with agoda in the future, and Nazar said im sorry you feel bitter about this but it is your choice. Like WOW! I'm sure anyone would be upset considering what we have been going through. Out booking was over $700 AUD. Agoda claims they are only a third party booking platform. So there you go, it's non of their business when sh*t hits the fan.

Do not use them
June 21, 2020

Had booked a hotel stay in Rome via agoda. Hotel now understandably closed due to pandemic, however, agoda refuses to provide refund, absolutely shocking. We will have to go sue them now. Do not use them, there are many other more trustworthy providers to choose from

This is the second time I booked through agoda and they have been cheap but not transparent about their prices OR the time periods for booking. I just booked a hotel and it never mentioned the time I would be checking it and was misleading about the rooms being available. NEVER using this service again. Extremely inconvenient.

They took money out before they were supposed too. Agoda is a complete scam. There is supposed to be a set date up to which you can cancel your room for free ut that is a total lie they take out the money a couple days before the day you can cancel. When it comes to trying to get a refund they leave you on hold and they don't answer they are almost impossible to reach.

I have never even heard of Agoda before. Somehow my credit card was charged almost $1,500 with Agoda. Then there is no way to email or speak to someone with Agoda.com unless you have a booking number. That's horrible customer service and the scammer most likely have someone on the inside working with them making money off scamming people.

Absolutely stay clear of Agoda.com. They have been the only third party company to stiff customers related to Covid-19. Expedia, airlines, Trip.com, and others have all been incredibly accommodating! Agoda will tell you that it's up to the hotel, which is BS. My hotel in question is owned by Marriott, and the Covid-19 policy offers a full refund for pre-paid non-refundable rooms. Agoda lies and blames it on the hotel. My son got a letter from a hotel saying they'd cancel it, but the reservation is in Agoda's hands. I will never do business with Agoda. Like I said, Expedia no problem, and Trip.com got a full refund the next day.

Still awaiting my damage deposit refund 78 days after checking out with no issues.

They ignore your e-mails and texts and when I did get a response promised to refund within the week. 40+ days later I am still waiting. Now with my credit card company to challenge.

At best really poor customer service, at worst some kind of scam. Avoid this company

Great Experience
June 4, 2020

I made a reservation in February for Los Angeles for the beginning of July but because of Covid19 we decided to cancel and even though my reservation was non-refundable they were able to refund it for me with no problems, I got a hold them fast and all was taken care of in less than 10 min. The only problem is the refund will take about 30 days but better than nothing.

Terrible!
June 1, 2020

Terrible! Never again. They dont provide a refund due to covid19 travel restrictions! They dont even contact with properties. Just take you money with no proof if properties still exists. Just avoid them if u dont want to loose your money. Covid19 crisis shows scums. Avoid Agoda. Terrible customer care, terrible behavior. Its problem is to steal your money. Go to Airbnb, Destenia or Hotels.com that really was helpful for customers stuck in travel restrictions.
STAY AWAY!

I book reservations all the time online. This time I booked through Agoda. The hotel couldn't find a reservation and even talked to Agoda customer service and nothing happened. So they have my money and offered a refund but said it would take 30 days to get. They screwed us!

They charged me early for a booking, regardless of an ongoing pandemic and the multiple restrictions it brought about and the country I was visiting less restricted travel on the dates I had booked after I had made the booking. It was a refundable booking so I made my case and instead of refunding it, they disputed my charge so the bank now has a hold on the amount they charged and they're basically trying to pass me onto the bank now for a problem they created in the first place. Their customer service handled it okay but their Fraud Prevention Specialist has been passive aggressive and keeps responding with snide comments in the emails, they basically seem like they have a bone to pick and it's just been very strange and I dont know what their gripe is since I'm the one encountering a freeze on a charge Agoda made.

On the other hand, I've always had a positive experience with Booking.com and Traveloka, they really do help you and coordinate with the hotels if you come across any issues and they're very polite.

I have a hotel booking with Agoda in Hong Kong in early June 2020. Due to COVID-19 and related travel restrictions, I contacted Agoda for cancellation and refund. First I was told that the hotel did not respond to the request for refund. Contracting the hotel myself, I received an indication that no such request was ever forwarded to the hotel. After several phone calls to Agoda, I was told that the booking was with Agoda's partner and this partner does not allow cancellation and refund even in the presence of COVID-19 ( this partner is not the hotel I booked). Agoda even suggested that I should contact the hotel directly to sort it out myself. I found this experience with Agoda extremely unsatisfactory. I did not make the booking with Agoda's partner. I booked and made the payment to Agoda. I don't care how Agoda operates its business model. But taking the money from a customer and then telling the customer it is none of Agoda's business is appalling. I will not deal with Agoda again.

I have used Agoda for more than 10 years.

Booked a flight going from Hong Kong to Vancouver on May 15th with a 21 hours layover at Tokyo.
At time of check in, the JAL ground crew denied my boarding. They said Japan had an entry ban on travellers from Hong Kong.

Called up Agoda, have them talked to JAL ground crews. Apparently Agoda has no idea of the problem.

They sold me tickets that won't work.

Anyone who travels during these times must have a reason. Sadly I have put my faith in Agoda wrongly believing they will sort things out for me.

No remedial support to help get another ticket. No refund. No apologies.

My flight booking number with Agoda was *******.

Do not deal with Agoda.

We booked legoland withThis wonderful company who believes even though they closed down the park due to the coronavirus we are somehow liable for their decision to close the park but said since they technically didnt shut the hotel down so i guess that was supposed to be our 600 experience. Refused to refund a cent and also rejected claims sent forward. Essentially they unethically but legally stole $ 600 from me. With money running out its nice to know that some crappy company kept all of it and rendered no services, this is abhorrent and they shut down the park and left the empty hotel "open" on the resort you were prohibited from entering. This was for my daughters birthday to boot. I would highly recommend NEVER booking with such an unethical and ignorant pathetic company. Never again! I understand cancellation policies but this was a circumstance that we should've been reimbursed for and its a shady and unethical move.

Poor service
April 25, 2020

I will never book anything with this company. Due to the Covid19 our Alaska cruise was canceled along with not being able to travel into Canada due to the border being closed. We asked for a refund and was denied due to a none refundable policy. Even if we wanted to go to the hotel we can't due to the closure of the border. Agoda shame on you and we will never book with you and we will notify everyone we know as we have a large amount of friends and family whom travel.

We have booked a hotel in Belgium near to the hospital because I suppose to have a surgery last March, but the country where I live locked down the airport so we couldn't travel, we cancelled the flight's tickets and the hotel a week before our check-in date.
I called Agoda by phone which cost me $125 and, to claim a refund of almost 500 Euro; I explained that the situation is out of our control and I e-mailed them the cancellation emails from the hospital, the flight tickets and a copy of a refund from Airbnb of the first week stay, (we supposed to stay for 2 weeks to do preoperational tests), they said they will contact me in 3 to 4 days but nothing yet for almost a month.
I am not booking with them again, I totally recommend Airbnb who totally understood the situation and refund me in 2 days.
