I have booked a room in kodaikanal with agoda,, they have charged me Rs 6000 per day. With breakfast included. After checking in I came to know that my next room ( we have same size room) have payed directly to the property only Rs 2900 breakfast included. I have booked lot of room from booking. Com never had any issues. This is the first time I had booked through agoda. And I had worst experience with agoda. This is my booking id *******
Agoda didn't finalize my reservation, even after I called them to confirm it.
I arrived at my hotel to find that they had no record of it. So I had to make other arrangements - not the way to start a vacation.
Allows scammers on platform. We have been scammed out of a 2 apartments rental in budapest, and were left with 4 kids waiting for the owner to show up. He never did and after 2 hours called back at us yelling that we will get a refund. We ended up booking another rental at double the price somewhere else. After that we received an email from agoda, with the owner claiming that we never showed up. Our Bolt records showed us arriving there, and our agoda chats and viber logs showed that he never responded to our calls. Instead of getting a full refund and an apology from agoda, we got a late cancellation refund! The owner is still on the platform scamming people, with what looks like no actual properties, and reviews from 8 years ago!
Traveled in die last 3 years in south east Asia and very often happened that all the places thats is showing are don't existing anymore. It seems that Agoda isnt doing regular checks. And so its a waste of time. Or you have trouble like me if you book and arrive on a place that is not there anymore or closed for good. Big Company sad reliability. I used to like that page but now its on the bottom of my list.
I had to cancel a hotel booking because of Covid and Agoda refuse to refund, really unprofessional given the circumstances.
This company is a fraud! They billed us for a stay we didn't even do. They did not refund us and didn't try to resolve or help us. They also provided mis leading information on their bookings.
Agoda sucks! Period. So does PayPal. Booked a room through agoda and paid through PayPal. Got to resort and they had no reservation but PayPal still allowed them to steal this money from us. Clearly a crime but they both are liable for allowing this to go on. Fought through this through PayPal resolution and still did not do us any good. Never again.
Booked two nights at a hotel that was rated 8.3 with Agoda that should have been rated 3.3 when contacting customer service they made every excuse to brush me off do not use this site if possible you will be disappointed as I was and many other people the respects and customer care for their clientele is disgusting the room has a missing sliding door to the balcony got mosquitoes and bugs came and went as they wished through the gap of the missing sliding door to the balcony and the laminated flooring was damaged and loose and food into pieces that was very dangerous to trip over
Booked room and confirmed, arrived at 2 am, in Florida and the hotel had no reservation for me, no available rooms i was wondering the streets looking for a place to stay. Adoga was suppose to refund my money over $200 on feb 26, over a month ago and still no refund and the costumer service people are horrible, just keep repeating themselves and you can talk to a supervisor. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BOOK THROUGH THIS SITE, next step is the b. B. b. And see how this company likes that
There's no way to contact this company, they list phone numbers for many countries none work. They advertised a hotel with airport shuttle service when I called the hotel they couldn't find the reservation and did not have a shuttle service. When I try to contact agoda via email they said "48 hrs", I expect I will never hear from them. My only option is to dispute the charge on my credit card
SUCKS they go through a third party that they cannot even get in touch with if you have an issue, Agoda claims they will have to get in-touch with their third party to cancel or change a reservation, when I made the reservation it was today special after I paid the date was for a Sunday not the same day which was Saturday not going to work for me need them to put for today special they offered. I called them and told them what happened if they could fix it and guess what! NOPE thEY don't give a $#*! they got your money, they say THEIR THRID PARTY will not answer their phone or emails sounds like a scam when you look up Agoda third party it is Chinese writing great Owner not here lol good luck with that. I had to call my bank to fight the charges, will not use a third party company to make a reservation when its not much more to just call the hotel that you are going to stay at and pay them directly.
Used this service to book a hotel in Florida- somehow they didn't get my reservation even though they took the $ out of my account. Took an hour to get it straightened out, was promised a call back, never received it. When I got home the hotel had charged me again, currently trying to get my $500 back. Too much effort to work with this company.
I was directed to Agoda through Trivago. We arrived in Vegas to find out that Agoda had not communicated my booking correctly. A little research would have shown me this is common with Agoda so my mistake on that. Instead of 4 rooms they booked 1. The hotel was not able to give us the additional rooms as they were sold out. The booking was paid in advance and Agoda had me going in circles on the phone for hours trying to resolve the issue. Four times they assured me they'd find another hotel to accommodate us and never got back to me while my group had nowhere to sleep for the night. We were forced to book another hotel ourselves and pay again. Five days later they are still fighting me over a refund. Agoda is trying to blame the hotel while the hotel is blaming Agoda. Meanwhile, my trip was ruined, I had to pay for another hotel, and I'm still fighting for a refund. I feel like I was scammed and advise everyone to stay far away from Agoda.
We made a booking. Two nights in Melbourne, received booking confirmation, got charged. Upon arriving, we found our booking was non-existent and spent a long time trying to get in touch with Agoda to see what was happening. Were finally advised that Agoda would get us alternative accommodation within the hour. Over an hour later got an email with two hotel options to chose from. Immediately replied and asked for confirmation. Whilst waiting on this, made our way to the second hotel to find that they were fully booked for the night and had never been contacted by Agoda. It was 8 pm at this point. We barely managed to find a hotel that could accommodate us for the night at this hour, at an exorbitant last-minute booking fee. We never heard from Agoda that night again.
Missed out on an important event and will likely never see the refund judging by their reputation which we were obviously not aware of. Agoda is based in Singapore. They could scam you too.
Wow. DO NOT BOOK A HOTEL ON Agoda! Totally fraudulent. I reserved a hotel room for 3 days several days ahead of time. I paid an extra $20 to make sure I could cancel it for free (why I have to do that Im so sure). The reservation said very clearly: "FREE CANCELLATION". The day after I booked I tried to cancel and they expect $125 ($150?) cancellation fee! The Agoda lady tries to pin the blame on the Hotel which she says has a 7 day cancellation policy. If thats the case why did it say so clearly on the Agoda web site as I was booking: "FREE CANCELLATION". Now, Im sitting on the phone w/ the Agoda lady who is pulling my teethe in order to refund the $125! There's much more to their bait and switch tactics to describe but I think Ive said enough. After all this she has the nerve to ask: "Would you like your refund as a credit on our website?" Im like No! Give me my money back! She says it'll take 30 days. Im not so sure Ill see this money again. DONT BOOK WITH THESE CLOWNS!
Hi, I have a bad experience with Agoda.com I booked a room for one night (Saturday) in London. The arrival day's midnight, they send an email that sorry your book had cancelled, we can give you another alternative option. I answered ok, so I didn't have more options because this a last minute almost all hotels full in London as Saturday. Also they are really expensive because of weekend. During our traveling, I received a new email, with the same message. I accept the second alternative. After two hours later I received an email that they said sorry... Then offer third hotel. And later they had confirmed that the hotel accepted. So I was so happy, finally we know where we are going... We have already our final direction, seat on the bus on Saturday 12pm. Then I checked my email, I saw another email from them and said, the hotel had been cancelled due full booked. We will transfer back your money. I checked that hotel it wasn't full. Anyway we was really disappointed for their games. At 1pm afternoon on Saturday you are in London, so you can imagine? I had ever happened with me before. I booked first time by Agoda. I think last time too. Thank you Agoda.com
We purchased a hotel room through agoda during a busy time several months in advance. However, 1 month before our reservation we tried to cancel because we learned that my wife was pregnant. It would've been easy for the hotel to fill that room. Agoda said I had to contact the hotel. We contacted the hotel and they make us fill out a Hardship Request Form. Afterwards, they said we needed to book another reservation at the same hotel and through agoda before they could request that Agoda sends us a refund (what a scam). It's been over a month and we never received a refund. So we booked for 2 hotel rooms in 2 different cities on 2 different dates (the 1st date is already past) because we were told that was required and we haven't received a refund from any of them. This is a terrible company and nothing but a scam. Also, good luck trying to talk to anyone! Terrible customer service!
Bad situation and they offered no help and still fought the charge when I didn't get what was sold toe at all.

Recently booked a SHA+ Hotel in Phuket via Thai Pass recommended link which I think should comply fully Thai Government requirements. Later I found the booking confimation mention nothing about the airport transport and ART kits as required. Tried for three, four days to message AGODA, email Hotel The Nature Phuket but received no response from any of them. I may not be able to enter Phuket with the above.
They stole money from me, and they are liters, Book with priceline. They make you wait for your own money, book elsewhere with Expedia

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
