I had booked the hotel room received with confirmation for between 4th ~ 9th December 2022, but only to find out that Agoda canceled my booking (without first confirming with myself) when I was already at the hotel front desk.
I was stranded in a foreign country and was hard to move around to find another hotel room with all my baggage. Agoda claimed to have tried contacting myself but was unreachable... that was the time when I was inside the plane having no cellular reception!
Contacted Agoda via phone call (waiting time was more than an hour) and in the end I was told there wasn't any available room and I was expected to find another hotel room by myself...!
There was absolutely no resolution provided by the customer service except wasting my time and incurring high amount of international phone call charges.
Overall experience with Agoda was TERRIBLE...!
When I was going through the booking process I found a hotel for $233 for the night. When I completed the booking and gave my credit card information, I was charged $333! Tried to call and cancel and they said I need proof and that they have a no refund policy. Do not make the mistake I made. This is a scam website run by thieves. Stay away.
They let you pay and book a hotel without knowing if the hotel is full or not. We traveled to Thailand and the hotel is fully booked and they cannot find our name nor confirmation ID in their system.
Paid for the stay in whole, they've declined the booking and took my funds. Just like that, easy money for them. Agoda refused to reverse the charge or book the room, so they took money for nothing and now trying to blame my bank. Yeah, right, it's my bank decided to get my funds, not you, scammers.
Agoda forgot to tell us they had cancelled our reservation. We showed up with our confirmation and were told they had cancelled our reservation, they were sorry and offered us $7.5 in compensation. We were left with no hotel in freezing cold at a ski resort in December. Never again Agoda. Insultingly poor.
They have done nothing but lie and try to blame the hotel who I had already spoken to about receiving a refund due to the serious nature of the cancellation (covid). Save yourself the headache of having to file fraud charges and book with a more reputable company who is honest.
My surgery was cancelled at the last minute, even after my IV was in. I no longer need two nights of my original 3 night stay. I checked out of the hotel but the manager said he was unable to cancel, that would be through Agoda. But their website makes it impossible to modify the original request and customer service chat just goes around in circles or shuts off. I would definitely not recommend this company.
Fraud, they wont even provide property owners or hosts number. We booked on agoda, paid full amount, drove 4 hours to the place only to find out the property is not connected with agoda and they had faced such scam bookings by many customers.
I booked a vacation through Agoda in October- paid in full- arrived at the hotel after 7 hr drive to find out the hotel had no record of my booking. After over an hour on the phone with customer service they were still unable to contact the hotel and I had to give them the hotel's phone number from Google. Finally agreed to cancel and refund my stay but by that time all of the restaurants were closed. Never ever again!
Agoda is fraud company, kindly request you all not to book through agoda.com, It is an international fraud booking agent.
Falsely put on their site a room that comes with a tub but when I called the hotel they said it does not come with a tub. Now when I try to change my reservation Agoda says they can't refund me even though they put the wrong description and an in accurate photo on their site. All I wanted was my money back to upgrade to a room that had a tub and they weren't willing to be flexible or help me.
Absolute scam.
Be careful, they will let you make the booking, like 3 months before, and when you near your travel dates, the date hotel will email you to pay before the due date, when you call the hotel, they will say the booking is for 3 people and 3 room, meaning 1 person in one room, and we booked 3 rooms for 7 adults, at the time of booking, now the hotel will tell you, we can allow you to the rooms, provided we pay 2500 per person extra at the hotel,
And customer care at Agoda will tell me to cancel and rebook the hotel, and after I canceled, the room is not available, and if I speak to the hotel again they have the room but for a way, more price than advertised by Agoda, and again, Agoda says very casually, it's okay, you can book another property which is 3 times more expensive. I also noticed Agoda used booking.com, as when I spoke to the hotel, they said they have an email from Booking.com and Agoda uses booking.com to accept the booking. My whole travel plan got ruined because of this useless website Agoda.
Dreadful experience booked flight a couple of days before I was due to fly. Received no booking confirmation, call them up after constantly being asked for a booking number which they have never gave me they asked me to send the payments details - Which I did approx 5 times. Sent the flight confirmation after flight had departed, luckily I sensed they weren't going to sent in time so booked via another much better provider. Still no refund or even response to my emails. It maybe be cheap but worth paying extra elsewhere to actually get the flight...Giving 1 star cause no option for 0 stars

I had to cancel my booking (ID *******) for June 19-32.2022, and the refund automatically went to the old bank account which was closed by the time of refund ( 19/Jun/2022). I contacted Agoda support team, but they refuse to transfer the refund to my new account, demanding documents that the bank can't give me because they already erased my info.
For sure the refund transaction couldn't proceed successful due to non-existent destination and the funds should've been returned to the sender. Instead of just check it Agoda team just replying with the same message again and again asking for papers I can't get. Half of times they don't answer at all, so I have to send my e—mail 2-3 times before I get any answer.
It's been more than 6 month I'm spending my time and energy trying to get my refund, they just don't care at all!
My credit card was compromised and somehow they included Agoda as being not one of my charges. As soon as Agoda contacted me, I called my creditor and told them to pay Agoda because that was indeed my charge. Well after that, agoda treated me like I was some sort of fraud, requiring a picture of me with my identification. Ok so I sent them what they wanted and STILL refused my business. These guys are complete morons! Stay clear of them!
أسوء شركة تعاملت معاها الي الإطباق ولا أنصح أي شخص بالتعامل معهم لانهم نصابين يسحبون أموالك للحجز وعندما تذهب للفندق اكتشف انهم غيروا موعد الحجز تلاقيا من خلالهم لكي تطلب تغييرة او كنسلته وفي الحالتين الفندق لا يوافق وبالتالي هم يقولون لك لا نستطيع التغيير من خلالنا ولا ارجاع المبلغ لان الفندق رفض ذلك … اقسم بالله العظيم شركة زباله ونصابين وحرامية وخدمة عملاء سيئة جدا وبطيئة ولا تحل اي مشكلة هنا فقط مثل الانسان الالي يردد نفس الجمل والكلمات بدون فهم

I booked a hotel for my trip to London with my credit card but cancelled a few days later in July. In September there was a $1,000 charge on my debit card from Agoda. I was in London at the time so when I got home a couple days later I immediately contaced Agoda customer service. They were quick to respond however communication was confusing and a waste of time because I received a reply from a different customer service rep each time which meant explaining my proplem over & over. I was charged an unauthorized transaction, a fraud transaction. Agoda said it was a duplicte reservation for the exact hotel I had booked & cancelled in July. I said well that's the problem, I didn't have a duplicate booking. They stopped responding. My bank would not refund me the money so I lost $1,000. $1,000 is a lot of money to me, I'm not rich. It's sad large companies don't care about the average person, only about the money they make.
I was traveling with my parents and I received the cancelation email by the host on the same day of our check in date. And take note we were already at the Hotel when we received this notification.
Apparently, The Host already informed Agoda that they are currently doing repairs and aren't accepting any booking. However, Agoda still continues to accept bookings on their website despite the the unit's unavailability.
I requested for a refund with customer service agoda and they keep asking questions about my payment, my bank statements, and proof of receipt, when clearly its in their website that payment was paid in full and then got canceled.
Worst experience. Stay away from Agoda.
I had to get a refund from my hotel stay since the hotel had construction going on Sunday morning at 730 AM next door. Agoda decided to jack up the 1st night's booking price out of nowhere and proceeded to refund a very dismal remaining amount. That's called Business Fraud and as a customer I can't do anything about it. Apparently Agoda can alter the price that you agreed to book at to have a advantage on refund amounts. You have been warned.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
