This company started in Australia in 2014, I joined them in Oz in 2015. I have just divorced from this mediocre company as of a few days ago. They USED to be great, particularly their customer service. If there was a problem you could ring them and get a friendly helpful person. But no more.

Apparently the company was sold in 2021 to an overseas establishment, it has been downhill since then for us the loyal customers. The "customer service" is now permeated by rude seemingly power drunk dolts who have weird names and think that not answering emails makes them seem like CEO of the Apprentice.

I had used Afterpay for 8 years, had some very large repayments made,up to 800.00 pmonth, and had never missed a single payment. Not once.

Recently, I had to change my email, no big deal. Afterpay turned this into an absolute Bold & Beautiful shindig. No answers to emails, having to prove over and over again who I was. When I could finally log in all my information had been wiped along with the 3,000.00 credit line I have had for years. It was now 600.00, I sent an email asking why, and of course no answer.

I received an email later requesting proof that I had made payments to Afterpay. These dolts and boors are beyond help with IQ'S OF 0.1.

I de-activated my account and I will never be back. Using PayPal pay in 4. It's great
User beware, this company ain't what is used to be.

Big scam

I ordered a product using afterpay. NEVER AGAIN. This company is as big scam. I got some cheap product and attempted to return. The company SHEIN kept the product and my money and afterpay keep taking money from my account even after I proved that I returned the product

My friends and I accounts were changed all because of 1 late payment that was 2 days late. When she requested to talk to someone. The person was not helpful at all and they truly do not care about anyone. They make up reasons and really not a good payment app to use. They will make you go through all these loops just to get your spending balance up just to take it away from you. Especially after you change you password, weird right. We know! So $#*! AFTERPAY

Everything was going well initially. No issues ever with purchase and all payments were paid on time. I attempted to make an in store purchase at Best Buy. Line of credit was showing over 1700 dollars. Afterpay declined my payment at checkout. I contacted support and was informed that they can decline payments as they see fit regardless if I have enough credit available. This is when I realized the line of credit they give you means nothing, is misleading and inflated. Sticking with Klarna.

They approve your first order. After that they do a credit check and if they find 1 negative they will send you a email sorry but thank you for using after pay but we don't want your business anymore. Think long and hard before you use this service.

NEVER EVER AGAIN

I purchased an item from Amazon and paid my initial down payment of $54 and right away I canceled it because I decided I wanted something else and afterpay only gives me $30 back out of that $54 down payment and when I contact them they tell me that's the merchants problem and I need to contact Amazon, Amazon has nothing to do with it when afterpay is the financing company who took my money and they're giving me this whole runaround about payment plans, when I have no payment plans because I canceled the order, the order was never even shipped, don't do it. Don't go through these guys. Guys they'll rip you off any way they can, I mean this order wasn't even shipped out to me. I canceled it within 5 minutes after placing it and I can't even get all of my money back

Got the wrong size on my order so the items were returned for the right size. Not only did Afterpay keep charging me the original cost of the returned items, I ended up with another payment for the replacement items. So I ended up paying twice for the same items. Try to ask for a refund and they just tell you to contact this person, then person, then get an email (they ask you on the site for your email address and what's wrong) telling me I needed to physical talk to someone but there's no phone number. I asked and still no response. Not only am I not using Afterpay but Fabletics is just as useless and pathetic since they decided to charge me twice even though they got the return and sent an email to me saying they did.

So, I've been with afterpay over a year I've reached mint status. But it's been constantly going back and forth with them because they repeatedly over charged me. I send them proof of my purchases and they still try to skim some money from me. I went back to purchases I've paid off and found that even when I argued and thought they reimburse me often they make you think you your money back but they actually Still kept some of it. So then you have to go back and tell them with proof again. You always get the same generic message when u complain about being overcharged.It s a small $5 or $10 buffer that will be returned. Well my " buffers got as high as "$40" and I had to fight to get my money back.this is constantly happening. I just made a purchase and it's had the overcharged price but underneath has my actual purchase price like they corrected it.but when you add up the payments I'm still being charged the same price when my purchase was way less! The lastest scam they have pulled on me ( I assume because I'm literally forcing them to give my money back every time they take it. Is that I made a purchase one Friday the 24 of Feb. Now the payments are supposed to be due the day of purchase.like if you make a purchase Monday it will be due two weeks later on Monday.Wed.due two weeks later on Wednesday. So this time they are sayingy payment is due on Thursday not Friday even though that's when I made the purchase. When I tried to correct it I was told the computer generated the due date I could switch my payment s or pay the late fees. That's all bull! After pay scam s their customers please steer clear

I try to recover my AFTERPAY account through thier help line,they transfer me to a company called EXP* NOW JUST ANSWER.COM without my knowledge and l was thinking that l am dealing with afterpay and they asked me to pay $2.00 just to confirm that l am the true account holder and this company put me on their subscription without my knowledge then start taking money from my account monthly.
Guys WATCH OUT AFTERPAY. DON'T GET SCAMMED

It sucks

If you have the option to use Klarna do not use afterpay… their costumer service is horrible and I've yet to have a bad experience using Klarna. The ONLY reason I still use afterpay is because unfortunately a lot of store have an afterpay option and not Klarna, but if it wasn't for that, I would stop using it as a whole.

They suck

I used to have a high buying power! I merely have none now! A creditor made a Mistake on my credit report. It hurt bad! They fixed it! Also, someone was stealing money out of my bank account. I told them and Nicole was nice enough to exclude it like it never happened. I still have limited buying power. I am a good, honest, faithful customer. They should take that into accountability and they DO NOT. I've never been late in over 3 years, but once because someone stole money out of my account! They now suck!

Refund policy is a joke

You won't get your full refund even if the entire order is returned. I paid about $100 for a purchase around $200 but I am only receiving about $70. I asked Afterpay about this and the response made absolutely no senser and included something about working their way from the last scheduled payment? It makes no sense.

One word: HORRENDOUS

I bought something online. Afterpay looked like a good deal, so decided to try it out.
Turns out the vendor was a total fraud.
Their email contact registered with Afterpay wasn't legit. The website registered with Afterpay pointed to an unrelated company in another country. So totally fraudulent.
After I gave Afterpay all this info, it took 6 weeks for them to even acknowledge that they needed to look into it. So I opened a dispute with my credit card company.
Then, the next Afterpay payment was coming due, which they said they couldn't waive or suspend.
Finally, I changed my credit card number and let the ****bags know that I wouldn't be paying them a cent.
After another month, the case was resolved in my favor. Duh!
Why didn't they want to promptly verify their vendor, AFTER I sent them all the details of the fraud?
Why did they take so long to get their **** together?
Why did they not at least suspend the 2nd payment when THEY were taking so long to investigate?
NEVER EVER EVER deal with such a scummy company. They do not deserve to exist.
One star is WAY too much for this mess.

Not geting refund

I have made a purchase trough after pay with Coggles, It was a scam, never received the order. I asked Afterpay to get in touch with them and refund my money or stop the payments, there was no help. After pay have collected all payments, did not tried to get a refund and did not help at all. If they have scam company in they dealing then is not good trusting them as well

I missed one payment and my credit was kicked down to 50 dollars. All of my other payments were paid on time. But that didn't matter so with that being said I made my last payment and closed my account. So if your trying to be a good customer and do your best to make on time payments don't waste your time. Cause it won't count for anything.

Poor customer service!

This is first and last time I will ever utilize this site!
Received and return product upon picking up from door step and now I'm furious because afterpay is telling me to get with merchant and merchant is saying this is an after pay issue! No one is helping and could care less! They are continuing to pull funds for merchandise that I've not had possession for over a week! Worse site ever
Don't use these ppl they don't care if your funds keep pulling ‍

Well well well. I first got affiliated with Afterpay in the year 2022. Initially given a $200 shopping credit that shot all the way up to $800 within a 3 month period. Pretty cool I thought. Then in August of 2022, I went out on FMLA from work. I was expecting and did receive short term disability payments, and unfortunately while waiting on the payments to start, my account got behind. Just to add, I never came close to using the shopping credit of $800. So when my payment got behind, I would say it was roughly about $100 to $150 behind. I contacted the customer service at Afterpay, advised them of my situation, provided the necessary documents. I also must advise for being no more than $200 behind, I was treated worse than being late on a mortgage payment for 3 months! After providing all of the information they required, they finally extended me the time I requested to pay the balance. I paid the entire balance before the date that I had ask for and how about Afterpay reinstated me shopping credit of $50 like they were doing me a favor. I could not purchase anything. I felt like no good deed goes unpunished. I reached out again to the customer service at Afterpay concerning the shopping credit and again they graced me with $100 shopping credit and this time they advised me that if I continue to make on time payments I would be eligible for an increase in shopping credit. I mentioned earlier that in 3 months time, I achieved a $800 shopping credit. Since August of 2022, I have not missed a payment, paid my purchases off before time and I am proud to say that as of January, 2023, I have a whopping shopping credit of $200. Afterpay sucks rotten eggs. Like I said no good deed. I could not think of anything else to prove my credit worthiness to them. So, I have one more payment for my current purchase with them that is $34.75 and after the payment is made, I will be deleting the app and concluding my business with Afterpay. They can kindly kiss my hot grits!. Thanks for absolutely nothing. If the company is that afraid of extending shopping credit perhaps the buy now pay later business is not for them. Thank you for letting me share.

The service itself is totally fine but requesting an error on your personal details to be corrected has been the most stupidest and pointless process. After a long process of following all protocols, answering the same questions and sending the same documents multiple times to then be told it can't be changed/updated and that you can deactivate/delete your account and create another account. The problem is, however, you cannot use the same email to create another account because you details are still in the system - EVEN AFTER DELETING THE ACCOUNT. The representative couldn't tell me how long my details stay in the system for either as to create another account using the same email. Absolutely ridiculous.
