Many users express frustration over identity verification hurdles and lack of resolution for payment disputes, which has negatively impacted their credit scores. Overall, while the service has potential, its current execution leaves much to be desired, leading to a growing sentiment of dissatisfaction among users.

Bought a few items off of Amazon and decided to try out affirm. Every thing seemed to go okay, until today. I got an email from my bank saying I have a new account that has been opened with my info. I look at it and my credit score went down 23 point cause of this "website". Do not use unless you want your credit score to go down. I should have done more research before trying it out.
I paid my account off in full. They reported that we settled for a lesser amount. Called three times with no resolve. Don't do business with them if you care about your credit report because they don't care about you. Terrible finance company.
I recently purchased a product that was sent to my billing address instead of my shipping. I contacted the company and it was a disaster. Join Jamie. ALPOTEC distributor. The company basically refused to acknowledge my issue until the 3rd email. The company literally stated in email go to the address it was delivered or the post office. It's a federal crime to go in a mailbox that I no longer have residential rights to. I contacted Affirm. A waste of time. They basically said "If we can dispute this, it depends of the company's return policy." Rather ethical or not it shows no value in the customer. Affirm pays upfront for you an wants their money. I will never use this again. No security for your earned money is a joke. Not to mention ruining my credit for 97.88 seems pointless. Its cool to pay later until you realize you literally pay for using a service with no protection and a product you never received. Stay clear.
I got a 3000 loan to do repairs at Honda. But, I he repairs had to be done in 2 sections because parts had to be ordered. Affirm would not let me use the rest to f the money. You have to wait 7 days to apply again to use the amount at the same place. I called them maybe 10 times frantic to get my car. The first group of people say the exact same thing. The supervisors all had something else to say, but none of it was true. They all seemed clueless as to how it worked and they all had foreign accents, some so strong that I couldn't understand them. Final lie, the interest rate for my loan was usurous, 29%! And, I was told that when I reapply and everything resets, I might not get a loan at all. Please avoid this loan firm. I still haven't gotten my car and it has been 7 days! I will have to use half my paycheck tomorrow to finally get my car back. I'm 61 and raising my grandson on my own. Way to treat a granny, Affirm!
2yrs I'm with affirm paid on time, bought thousands of dollars in items all paid off b4 loan dates. April I did a return to Michael Kors( I have receipts) they are STILL making me pay for items I do not have!. Their so call "team" didn't explain to me their MK contacts, how they claimed I have items which I've submitted all proof of returns, plus I am on camera the day of purchase and return. Despicable!
This company a joke. I always have paid my loan ahead with them and always paid them off early. Now they treat me like I'm a piece of crap. They treat me like some one that doesn't pay them. So if there going to do that to me I will be a piece of crap customer. I won't pay them anymore. I pay them when I feel like it.
If you have a problem they make it damn near impossible to speak to a service rep.Its like they really DONT want to speak with you and couldn't care less about their customers. Its really sad that in 2022 this is how customers are treated by a company. Karma has a way of catching up.
Poor business practices. If you change your phone number they lock you out of the account and demand personal ID as well as a current picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with current date. Consumer has no way of knowing at they do with picture or personal information! Beware!
I'd give 0 stars. Had fraud issues and was held accountable for 2000$ worth of purchases that was not accountable. They state "We investigate claims of unauthorized activity, and will make sure you're not held responsible for any purchases we find are not authorized." Total lie would never recommend affirm to anyone!
I purchased tickets for a concert. In the meantime, I tried to sell them because I was not going to be able to attend the concert. Not only did I never receive said tickets via email - I wrote in documenting everything that happened (They said they sent me an email with the tickets and I never did receive said email.) I never did receive the tickets and I never received a refund of the $444.00 I spent, despite sending in all of the evidence that was requested. I will NEVER use this company again. Even trying to post this review the website would just spin and not let me post - let's try again.
I've had affirm for several months.
It's given me the ability to buy items I normally would of had to wait to buy.
Using it kinda like a credit card but without interest, it's been great.
However, never have a store dispute because you will loose your prequalified amount.
I recently bought an item for 178. Off eBay.
Sorry to say I had to cancel the order the next morning. Although I explained why, the seller was giving me some trouble on refunding as she stated she would be charged by eBay.
Not knowing what to do, I called Affirm. I explained what was going on, and they said they would reach out to eBay. They did, and the issue was resolved in a few days.
However, my prequalified balance went to 2.00. Yes, two dollars. So, now, instead of having a 700 prequalified amount, I have 450.
I called customer service and asked if they could fix it. No. Will my 700 be restored? No.
I am being punished for having to cancel an order.
Now, important to know, over these several months, I've had a number of loans, most only 100., but a few were more.
I've NEVER ONCE BEEN LATE! Most of the time I've paid early.
So, here I sit, wanting to get some cute clothes on sale, and by the time I get paid, the sale will be over. Now, I have 25.00, but not 100 right now. I explained that to them and of course no one cared.
So, I'm guessing they're tired of me using the service with % interest. Although, I've applied to pay over a longer time then 6 weeks, they refused me.
So, my ability to buy has pretty much ended.
Sure, next month, it might stay at 450 once this is paid, but it might not?
Do I recommend Affirm? Yes, I do, but careful. Don't overuse and wear out your welcome, and don't have a refund or return.
I'm sad Affirm won't listen. I've worked hard, lost weight, and that sale would have given me a nice boost.
Applied multiple times for credit because their site kept having issues, then when it finally worked it ask me to upload pictures, so I sent them picture of me and pictures of my picture i. D, driver's license etc. and it claim it could not verify my info? About a week later I got a letter stating that they couldn't approve me because my credit was bad, yet 2 week later I was approved for a credit card with a $10,000 credit limit from a bank. If you ask me this seems like a scam just to steal your identity!
On December 11th 2021 I made a purchase with capelot apparel apparel. I didn't receive my item until until February 11th 2022. I spent $328 total. I placed a complaint with AFFIRM in January because I didn't receive my item. Capelot apparel then sent my item and I received half of my items on February 11th. The items were 3 pieces clothing that have been washed and used I then complaint again to AFFIRM. No response back from AFFIRM just automated message. I then asked AFFIRM to please refund me the whole amount total purchased for all my items which was $328. A firm had told me that they are working on the dispute the dispute and that I would hear something something 30 days from now. It is now May 11th 2022. 6 months later while my case is in dispute with AFFIRM they sent me to collections. Not only did I lose $328. AFFIRM ALSO MESSED UP MY CREDIT IN THE MIDDLE OF A HOME PURCHASE.
In December 2021 I bought a Samsung cordless vacuum and financed it through Affirm but paid it off after 2 weeks. Then the vacuum broke and I returned it to Samsung. Samsung refunded me half of what I paid and said Affirm would take care of the rest. Since December 2021 Affirm has requested proof of my purchase, paid in full, return and partial refund three times and three times I have sent it. They are still saying it is in review - in MAY! I will probably never see my refund, Affirm will find a way to keep it. AVOID them if you can!
Horrible, no help at all! Why offer when you don't plan on approving people! Afterpay is awesome! Not affirm!
Beware of using Affirm.
Please research, a lot of people have been mislead and now have dinged credit!
Avoid using any tranactitons related to Affirm. Unreliable.
Your credit Score will be at risk.
Purchace was to be Shop Pay which is affliated with Affirm, but tranaction was error vs bait an switch to Affirm leading to a "loan" and credit score reporting. I had near perfect credit but now will have this erroneous tranaction for years to come. I have requested Affirm remove this error in good faith as it is their mistake, to no avail.
Do not use Affirm in any capacity, they are unturstworthy.
Tranactions will be added to your credit score!
I took out like 50 loans with this company and paid all on time. They reported 1 on time and reported late payments after 4 accounts were taken in my name. The refuse to help me with their mistake. My credit score was 630 but dropped to 550.
I tried to get in touch with somebody from affirm over 6 times -essentially what happened was I never received the item I purchased and I kept trying to let them know about that because I was not even home when the item was supposedly delivered I was on vacation OUT OF STATE. I was very adamant about them putting packages in the package room not just leaving it outside in front of someone's door for anybody to grab. I was completely unaware it was even delivered because I was in another state and now they have sent this into collections and never gave me proper recourse even though I was not even available to accept the package. Sure the company works great if nothing incidental happens.
These people are scam artists... period! So I applied on a website that uses Affirm (should have named it A Squirm!) and I was approved. I chose my re-payment schedule, 3 months, clicked the next button and I see a congratulations and welcome to Asquirm so I put the money required down as part of the process. Now they have my money. I then receive an email telling me the loan could not be approved. If you were not going to approve me then why did you not tell me before you took my money? Now, I see another email that says you're approved for 500.00 so when I revisited the site where I purchased the item, nothing showing up? I go to Asquirm and gues what... no loans posted! That's 170. They took. I receive another email telling me it's being processed. I call them and oh my goodness, they offer the lamest excuses and had just flat out told me they don't have an answer or they could not see the information I was referring to. BS! I have the email for approvaI right in front of me. I tried again with a lower priced item, once again, 140 down, I paid... not even an email people... no correspondance or confirmation whatsoever. I called the and went off on them! If you are not going to approve the effing loan then why do you take money BEFORE denying a loan and then tell me it's going to take 7 - 10 business days for a refund. Seriously? It took you no time to take my money but I have to wait a week to get it back. That's my funds that you have sitting in your account drawing interest. What a bunch of crooks. Now I'm 300 plus dollars out that I could have used to purchase the item they said they would finance but now I can't because these morons are holding my money. Stay away. The best answer they could give me is "well, at least you're getting a refund" People, their ratings don't suck for nothing. Take heed. You have been warned!
Answer: On paper legit, sort of, but really a scam. They aren't even who you are financing with.
Answer: I had heard of the company because a friend actually knows the owner. Very sorry I did worst experience I have ever had.
Answer: It's not. They now also are charging large interest amounts. Don't use them.
Answer: Follow Walmart's lead... don't use them! Affirm makes everything complicated.
