This guitar plays much easier then my Yamaha that cost me around the same price. I thought the Yamaha was easy to play until I received the Zager. How can you go wrong with a 100% money-back guarantee and will pay shipping and insurance both ways if you're not satisfied. I would highly recommend giving them a try. You have nothing too lose with the money back guarantee. It sounds good and plays well. Time will tell how it hold up. In a year I will be back for a follow up.
A little over a year ago, my father-in-law caught me eyeing a stunning Parlor model as I sat noodling on the couch. Unbeknownst to me, he ordered it and it arrived shortly after he returned to his home in Florida. Throughout the unboxing I was amazed by the care and packaging. I withdrew a beautiful and formidable hard case of tremendous quality and was giddy with excitement as I un-latched each hasp. Upon opening the case I was astounded at the stunning beauty and quality of this instrument. I quickly set to checking tune but found it still nearly perfect. As I began to play, effortlessly at that, I was taken aback by the rich full sound that came from such a minimally sized instrument. I regularly get together with a good friend and avid guitar player and when I first handed it to him, he didnt want to put it down. I let him play it as we sat for over two hours. He could not believe he had no finger strain from start to finish. This guitar has inspired me to play so much more often and even in front of people I normally wouldnt as Im terribly modest. The size of the Parlor is perfect from couch to camping. I could go on and but its time to go play! In summary amazing guitars at an amazing price with unimaginably passionate and attentive customer service. Thank you Mr. Zager.

I am going to start by saying I was hesitant to order online without seeing and holding this guitar, what sold me on the Zager was a review by professional players/instructors from Jamplay, a guitar learning program online. I ordered the ZAD50 OM after several online chats with Dennis Zager Jr, and many questions. I learned that the OM was the exact size as my Martin 000-16gt. When I received my guitar, first I saw the well built ABS hard shell case, which came with a humidity sensor inside the case, when I opened the case I saw this beautiful guitar with many features you would find on a three thousand dollar guitar. The sound however is very comparable to my Martin considering that as the wood cures, and ages it will surpass Martin's sound. It plays extremely well, and I have to learn to adjust the pressure I apply to the strings as well as my strums much lighter than I do on my Martin. The action is set a little higher than I am used to but will come down as the wood cures and settles, which then I can adjust with the supplied truss key. Zager has a lot of help videos which explain how to do this and answer questions which I have asked. I am glad I made the decision to purchase a Zager, I am 65 and can't play long hours like I used to, but played this Zager like I was 40 again, and have so every day since I got it. OH, one more thing, I ordered the Zager picks, and in my opinion they are the best picks I have ever used, and I am by no means a novice player.
Since buying my Zager guitar I have found myself playing more than I ever have in the past. The first few months I couldnt wait to get home from work to pull it out of its case. The rich depth of the basses and crisp sound make strumming a pleasure for the ears. My playing has improved and I am more driven to learn newer, more difficult songs. I have let other guitarists play it and they all agree that the sound and feel are exceptional. If I ever upgrade it will be another Zager.
Thanks to the whole team

I purchased a Zager guitar about eleven years ago and it still looks and plays beautifully. I don't play as often as I want to, but when I get it out of the case, it looks just as new as when the day I got it... and it plays perfect..
Review of Zager 4/5 Parlor Size Electric Guitar.
If you are like me you depend upon reviews to help make a decision on whether to purchase a product or not. I hope the following helps you in your decision as to whether you purchase a Zager Easy Play Parlor Size Electric Acoustic Guitar.
I have been playing guitar on and off, mostly off, for a number of years. One of the main reasons I havent been playing is hand pain due to arthritis in my hands. Just before Christmas I was just exploring the internet looking at new guitars when I came across the Zager Guitars. Here was a luthier by the name of Denny Zager backing up his product with a money back guarantee including shipping. Who else does that? I went through the reviews and was comfortable with personal statements from both well known and unknown customers. My wife and I enjoy camping with our 20 trailer so the Parlor Size Electric was just right our needs.
Just after Christmas I ordered my new guitar. I was surprised at how fast it arrived from Lincoln Nebraska. The first thing I noticed after opening the box and ABS molded case was how nice the African Mahogany looks. I tuned it up with little adjustment, even though the strings are new. It sounded fine for a small guitar and it was new so it was expected to change due to the wood curing. I have been playing it for about two months or so now and both my wife and I have noticed how much richer the sound is. The only adjustment I have had to make is in how I grip the neck and form the chords. It requires less finger pressure to get the chords to sound right, but that isnt a problem. It is the main reason I chose the Zager brand over a Martin or a Taylor.
Through out the process of purchasing the guitar I have been working with Dennis Zager Jr. The owners son. I have never experienced the level of customer support that he has provided. He has promptly responded to my questions and concerns. I am not aware of another guitar company who responds to their customers questions and concerns as well as Dennis Zager Jr.
Now that spring time is just around the corner I am looking forward to taking the guitar along when we go camping. Maybe you will find me playing my Zager by a campfire somewhere in California. If you do please stop by and say hello.
I live in the UK. I purchased the Parlor 38 and it arrived by FedEx 3 days later. The Easy Play Zager design is much kinder to my hands and is a delight. That said the Guitar sounds beautiful in its own right and is equally saleable on sound quality and it's solid build alone.
It is a beautiful guitar and plays like silk. It really does sound wonderful. My daughter heard me play and wants one. I am going to buy her the Parlor 36. The additional gifts that came with the guitar are great. The quality of the guitar case is second to none.
I also have a Taylor GS Mini and the Zager guitar performs just as well and better in many respects in my opinion. Highly recommended!
I had concerns about this guitar when I first looked at it sure, it was good looking. But! Did it sound good, well when it got to my home and I played it well nice did not cover it. I have many guitars some cost me 3000. 00 plus and this guitar beats them! I would say if you want a guitar that will bring value to your playing and your bottom line this is it ( Doug Zager is my age well I need say no more 65 +) this guitar keeps sounding better every time I play it and with age it well only get sweeter so that's all I have to say about that. Mike fifty years of playing with guitars.
I found that the beautiful ZAD50 that i received did not suit me. In less than an hour after exchanging messages with Denny I had it packaged up, using the FedEx lable that he sent me, and in route back. The new ZAD CE OM must have passed on the way because I received it in a few days. No questions asked other than whether or not I was happy. Amazing!
I am a 74 year old beginner on guitar, with fat, arthritic fingers. Lots of trouble with reaching over frets and muting strings. I tried other guitars with wide string spacing. The Zager ZAD80 Full Size Acoustic is better than them all. Not only is the string spacing wider than normal, but the fret spacing is narrower, and the strings (I use silk-steel) are easier to fret. A narrow and shorter neck help too. The tone of this guitar is an absolute treasure. Dennis Zager was a pleasure to deal with. These guys really care about their customers and want to help.
From start to finish I found doing business with the people at Zager Guitar(Dennis Zager, Jr.) virtually hassle free. Everything they promised they delivered in a timely and professional manner. As for the guitar I chose, the ZAD50/Satin model, I am very impressed with awesome tone quality it puts out and also the ease with which it plays. It's not the top of their line but it sure plays like it could be. Thank you Zager for a pleasurable buying experience and for a well made beautiful guitar. Terry Wieand
This is the second day playing my new Zager ZAD900OMCE. Enjoying it more each time I play it. The Guitar has amazing deep clean bass tones, incredible sustain, the handcrafted quality impresses me more every time I pick it up. I have owned and played several High-Quality Guitars, without dropping names this Zager has very quickly become my Favorite! I Strongly Recommend this Company to any Player.
My girlfriend is on the small side and the guitar fits her hands perfectly. Her daughter is learning to play in school and she is also able to use the guitar with ease. Thanks so much. Sam Burwell, 2698 State hwy 217 Booneville Ar *******
Of all my vintage guitars
I was a apprehensive about buying a guitar sight unseen. I am VERY GLAD I did. This guitar is awesome. I love it, love it, love it. It plays and sounds better out of the box than my Martin D35 ever did. Not only is the guitar amazing and beautiful, but doing business with the Zagers is a treat. Dennis kept me apprised of delivery status from the moment I placed the order (it was too cold to ship immediately, we waited for a good weather window) and answered my questions thoughtfully and sincerely. Zager Guitars is the real deal, folks. Corporate America should take a lesson.
I am not as experienced as are many guitarists out there and it was with great apprehension that I was shopping for what could easily be one of my last guitars. I have never made an income from playing a guitar and never will. This is for my own enjoyment and to be treated as an "old friend." I wanted for once in my life to own a really good guitar and bumped into this company in Nebraska. I always wanted a Martin or Taylor and looked at them in a local large guitar shop. They were very nice but I became more curious in the marketed playability of a Zager. Their site was fantastic, too far away to drive to their physical location but offered a free trial with them paying shipping both ways----nothing to lose! But I have to say their customer service was better than any I have experienced on ANY product I've bought anywhere! If it wasn't that good I may have bought elsewhere and customer service is a disappearing commodity but they still get it." Anyway the guitar was fantastic and still is. They confidently challenged me to take it anywhere to compare and if I didn't like it, I could return it at their cost. That was even AFTER the sale they said this. SO I took it to a large national guitar franchise where they had hundreds to choose from. I took two guitars off the wall, one a high end Taylor and another high end Martin. My skill as a guitarist has more to go and I wanted to hear what this could really do. SO I had 3 guitarists play them all. One was the salesman who was an absolutely incredible guitarist. He knew why I was there and was still considering other guitars, I was a ripe customer for a high end guitar. He played the others and then the Zager. He paused and looked it over. He honestly told me, "We don't sell anything in the store this good. You don't need anything else. MAYBE the highest end Taylor or Martin might compete with it, I'm not sure but you would pay a lot more. This is the best guitar I have played in a long time. Take it home, keep it, and cherish it." It was hard to dismiss this. How talent was top end professional. Obviously he had been around guitars a long time and could have convinced me of something else. SO I am following his advice. The other 2 guitarists in the store were customers and agreed it was a high end excellent guitar. In Zager, I got what I was looking for and a bit more. I feel they will be with me for life. If you are in the market, they are at least worthy of your consideration. Thanks Dennis and Dennis Jr.!
This is the best guitar that I have ever owned... and I have a $3500 Martin dc35e as well as a Taylor acoustic. This guitar plays as well as the Martin for 1/2 of the cost. The finish is gorgeous and the sound is fantastic. Customer service is second to none!
One year ago I bought a Zager 50CE. It arrived with faulty Fishman electronics right off the bat, and it was all but impossible to keep in tune. They sent me a new Fishman, but I sent the whole set up back to have them properly set up and replace their faulty work. The did pay the return cost, and sent me a whole new guitar [I thought it strange they didn`t send the original back]. The second guitar arrived with a Fishman that called the "E" strings "D" strings, but I figured I could live with that. Noe I keep all my guitars in a climate controlled studio. This last month I went round and round with Zager, because as the neck began to slowly twist, Zager would of course go into the "it`s your humidity problen, because we use such high grade woods, you need to take extra special care of our high end guitars". B as in B, S as in S. I sent it back for them to see what I was talking about, at the cost to me of $68. Today I got a check for the price of the guitar MINUS the transport cost of course. I have no clue why Zager gets such high reviews. Also, the guitar is NOT made in Nebraska. It is set up and finished for sale there, and that`s it. BTW... when I showed my luthier [old family business] the zager, he ask why I spent money on it. Of course Zager claimed my luthier was clueless.
You all have been warned. NEVER again!
I played for years with Mark Barnett in Nashville. I thought the Martin D-28 was the king of all acoustics.
Now I have my "dream" guitar in my new Zager 900! Wish I had found you guys years ago. What a difference! I was so happy with my 6 I also bought a Zager 12 string. Zager is on another level.
I got my new Zager guitar. Fast shipping! OMG it is beautiful. I love it. Everything seemed as it should be in the box. I haven't even plugged it into our sound system yet, just played acoustic and it sounds fabulous. Also a great feel in my hands. I let my buddies try it last night, and I wasn't sure I was going to get it back. Anyway, I am going to sell my Taylor 614CE and by an OM size acoustic electric from Zager too.
Answer: It appears this question was asked by Rick Evans from Zager and Evans. I'm not sure how the duet broke up, but it appears someone hasn't gotten over it. As for Zager guitars, they are exquisite guitars. I have a ZAD-900CE and it is simply amazing. Any dealings I have had with them have been honest and positive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Answer: Through email, I hear back within 24 hours or less every time.
Answer: I'll put my new ZAD900CE up against anything Martin makes or has made in the past.
Answer: They answered my emails within hours.
Answer: I have purchased (2) guitars from them and they are both excellent guitars. Customer service is next to none. Ignore the haters, this is a legit company based out of Lincoln Nebraska.
Answer: School and student guitars are made in Indonesia. Parlor is partially made in Indonesia but then brought into the USA to be finished. Their high end guitars are fully made in the USA
Answer: I asked the same question and was told they are experiencing shipping issues just like the rest of the country. In retrospect, I should have ordered a 'sale guitar' which are new guitars that were used by Denny (a few hundred dollars cheaper too). Kind of like a loaner or demo car I guess. It took me 7 or 8 weeks to get my brand new Zager 900 CE.
