Had a 3 o'clock appointment mechanic didn't arrive until 4:30 I said to him do you think you should start he turns and says call office and get them to send you someone else. I will never use these guys.
I paid upfront for a mechanic to change the alternator and the tensioner belt on my car. The mechanic shows up and decides to evaluate my entire car without permission, but did not perform the services that he was paid to do. I was never contacted about additional work or parts. In fact, I had to contact customer service to find out why this mechanic did not repair my car. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone. They are absolutely horrible! To top it off, I was not given a complete refund, even though the mechanic decided not to do the repairs.
Requested service, and supplied all the information regarding the model and make. Explained the problem with the car. The mechanic arrived, could not fix the problem, and asked me to go to the dealer. Then they charged me a $29.99 cancellation fee. I spoke to a supervisor but she was no help.
My boyfriend and I tried to use them and for choosing a day for assistance is not clear what day you're picking. Then to top it all off the mechanic cancelled 30 minutes before he was supposed to be here. Then when we cancelled it through calling them we were told the refund would take 7-10 days to be refunded which is extremely aggravating since we now won't have money for another mechanic till then.
I booked a diagnostic service on the site and a mechanic was sent to my house. The mechanic (James) was great! He was nice and extremely knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue and provided me a quote. When I attempted to book the follow up services, the quote I was provided over the phone was $700 more than what I got from the mechanic. When I inquired why there was such a huge discrepancy the phone agent rudely asked "Do you not understand what an estimate is?" Uh, yes, I fully understand what an estimate is but what I do NOT understand is why the estimate the certified mechanic gave me at the time of the diagnostic is so much different than the quote now being given. A few dollars difference I could understand, but $700?!? Needless to say, I declined, and due to the rudeness of the phone agent, I will NEVER use their services again. Sucks though because I really wanted the mechanic to complete the work and get payment for it.
They will lie and quote you one price then change it when the mechanic. Don't fool with this business find another mobile mechanic, they suck.
I communicated with YourMechanic.com and booked their services. They quoted me $352 for the repair. Then they called me to say that the price was adjusted to $557 due to part cost. 20 minutes before their mechanic was supposed to show up, they sent me a message that he needed to reschedule. I rescheduled the appointment (6 days later) and then they called me and said that they have to cancel the appointment completely and that they won't have any other mechanic to do the job (replace an EVAP Canister). I will not use their services ever, as you can't trust them at all!
First appointment the misdiagnosed the problem and told me it was just the battery and not the starter, second appointment was a no call no show
After three times they failed to show up and cancelled my appointment I cancelled them. Unless you don't care when you car gets fixed and don't really need it avoid this company. After canceling twice and promising me they would show today they did not show up at 2pm as promised and did not even tell me they were not coming until I called and asked what the hell was going on. If you need you car fixed to you can go to work, please do not depend on the promised these guys give you.
First appointment: Robert came and said he did not have the right size of a part so he needed a couple days to order the parts. He said rotor looked ok and could still last a while.
Second appointment: Robert did not show up and cancelled the appointment after an hour passing appointment time.
Third appointment: Robert asked for rotor replacement same time as this brake pad replacement appointment because he's very busy so he can't do pad then do rotor. He wants both jobs done same time.
Integrity issues here:
1. The 3rd appointment Robert said first appointment was because he did not have right tool, not because he did not have the part like he made up the story during the first appointment - needed a couple days to order our parts.
2. Robert did not show up in the 2nd appointment as promised without a message until we called office and found out he would not show up. During the third appointment he said he did not cancel that appointment which had conflict with what happened.
3. Robert asked rotor and brake pad need to be replaced now and claimed he did not measure last time. He also said he is too busy to come back to do two things separately. He also said he did not measure the rotor during the first appointment which had conflict that he said rotor was ok at that time.
Mechanic was 24 hours late. When he got there, he did not have the tools or know how needed to fix the car. I called Your Mechanic and asked them to send someone else. This was on a Tuesday, They told me the next mechanic wouldn't be availble til Sunday. When I looked at the Sunday appointment I realized they were sending the same incompetent mechanic out, so I canceled the appointment. Apparently they have very few actual mechanics. This was in the state of Florida.
Do not use Yourmechanic.com. They are terrible.
I had them come to my place to fix my jeep which had failed with a broken serpentine belt. They came out, replaced the belt and performed an inspection. The vehicle passed on all counts. With less than 50 miles of driving the belt broke again.
When I asked them to honor their warrantee they claimed that I did not ask for an inspection as to why the serpentine belt broke. They claimed they no longer had anyone sufficiently skilled to repair a 2012 Jeep Wrangler engine problem. If I wanted them to honor their warrantee, I would have to bring my car to a different mechanic, pay that person for a diagnosis, and then give the independent diagnosis to yourmechanic for them to make a decision as to whether they should have replaced the belt.
When someone asks for a mechanic to replace a belt, it is my experience that it is implicit in that request that the mechanic might look to see what may have caused the belt to break. It seems like they had, as they provided a 50 point inspection where the vehicle passed with all 9/10 or better score. When I asked them about this yourmechanic.com, they said that the inspection was not considered a diagnosis.
I booked an appointment for a starter replacement. Mechanic comes out and says "car starts in drive, it's the neutral safety switch." He said he would order the connecting cable (remember this: you have to unplug this cable to replace the switch) just in case it needs replacing as well.
Because this happened the day after Christmas, I used Afterpay to pay for the $360 repair. I had to pay 1/4 down. Then I called the customer service to see when they would send us a revised quote for the switch and the cable. They told me the only option they had was to cancel the quote and send me a new one for the new amount $353 - the wrong amount). I said I had paid with Afterpay, and if they sent my a new quote and cancelled the first one, Afterpay would not cancel the loan until Afterpay processed it, and Afterpay processed it, which takes like 10 days. So I had to apply for a brand new loan. I didn't have the credit limit with Afterpay to pay for a double charge, so I had to PAY OFF the first loan to get the second one. Which meant I ended up paying $450 instead of $89 for what was supposed to be a $290 repair. But that was better than paying $900 out of my pocket for two wrong service orders.
Then it just gets worse. The person I spoke to on the phone for an hour send me a link to book the new repair. I didn't see the repairs ordered Im until after I had completed the Afterpay process and paid for my loan. And they put the totally wrong repairs down!
I called customer service back and after 1:15 on the phone, they revised the quote and set the appointment for today, and we thought everything was fine.
The mechanics came by today and *******@we installed the switch, but what's really wrong is the cable.@ so my husband says, "well you brought that with you, right?" NOPE. So the car breaks down Christmas Day, and it's New Year's Day, and the car is still not working.
So I call customer service to find out why they didn't order the cable like the first mechanic told us he would. The first mechanic said he would put everything in his notes. I verified that the customer service rep could read his notes and see what the first mechanic was going to do. We just we're unable to book the same mechanic with their booking system.
The customer service person comes back on the phone and tells me that they were sorry, they don't do that repair, and we'll have yo take it yo another shop. What? Remember: you have to unplug the cable to get to the switch, so how could it be a service they can't perform?
So now I'm awaiting for an elevation call to Eve returned in "24-48 hours." I said I wanted a refund of the service I paid for today because they did not perform the repair as it was quoted us. Let's see how far I get with that. Meanwhile, our car is still not working and I'm out all this money I don't have.
I feel robbed and taken advantage of by their incompetence and ineffective technology.
Totally a scam and they don't stand behind their service. They came out once and it worked for 2 weeks and then when it stopped working they wanted to charge me again before they even found out if it was the same thing or not. Absolutely a horrible company. Save your money and go to someone that will stand behind their service.
Twice they've called at the time they were supposed to show up to say they couldnt make the time work
This service is a straight scam. Hey will take your money and never fix your vehicle. There mechanic named Euclid was not professional, didn't speak, and was crying about doing job. A straight waste of time..
They sent a mechanic that misdiagnosed my vehicle and made it worse (after trying to upsell me more unneeded repairs). When I tried to file a warranty claim repair to get the problem fixed, they sent another mechanic to "diagnose" the problem (and charge yet ANOTHER fee) and then denied my claim. They are ripoff artists who hire incompetent mechanics and then will not fix the problems they create. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO SO AT YOUR OWN PERIL! :(
The assigned mechanic cancelled 3 times in over 2 weeks. You open your day then last second! Fourth time a guy showed up after I complained
He says that repair is not done. He says they will charge me 100 plus (they took my 151 right away!)
For his showing up.
So I gave him 60 cash because he said he could write it up so they would not charge me. But they did
So I paid 118 (of the 151) plus 60.178 was more than the original charge
They cancel they lie, they steal and they do it having your money upfront. This company is a huge scam
Mechanic no showed 3 appointments in a row. No to minimal contact abut if or when they were coming, even after a "promise" by a contact service advisor after the 2nd no show. Now money is stuck sitting on the site. If I can't trust them to show, how could I trust them with my car? Would be helpful if the mechanic, costumer service, and/or even autotexting would address no shows without having to hunt down someone with whom to speak. Also after 1, but especially 2 or 3 no shows, more needs to be done that simply rescheduling, such as money returned, something free, etc. They also should not advertise 24/7 same day service...
Answer: Don't do it. They have scam written all over them. Was told different prices from different people within days of eachother
Answer: Good call. They're not touching anything of mine ever again!
