I received a code for a FREE PREMIUM Month from "LISA". When I hit the code to claim it, it took me to the checkout form and I put the code in as well as my information. After hitting submit, it took me back to my profile and showed "Pro" as well as a charge for $340.88 to my account! What?!?!? I have reached out to the CEO directly via email and Linked-IN and requested immediate TERMINATION of "LISA".
DO NOT subscribe to this garbage. It's a huge SCAM. While the exposure is great, there are no sales made on your photography. And your "stats" are useless because they are never marketed anywhere to anyone that would use your images.
It's pointless. It's a SCAM. And FRAUD.
Constant harassment to upgrade to premium membership. Email after email after email. Promising you that you'll make a profit off your images if you hand over money to YouPic. Surely YouPic will be the ones making a profit off my images by me paying them? You are also limited to only being able to upload 2 images per day.
The site itself is smooth running, people can like, nominate as an inspiration or 'repic' your images. There is no real critique to guide photographers, just the courtesy "nice pic".
It lets itself down in the points system it operates. The more likes, comments you get and the more you like and comment you make you get points. YouPic is riddled with high ranking photographers who comment on everything just for the points. Some of the top ranking photographers do not have a good set of images in their gallery and i can only presume endless likes, comments etc have put them there. Also the more followers you have the more likely you are to have a higher ranking regardless of your quality, people tend to like images because they're following someone and knowing in return they'll get likes back. That's the huge fault for this site.
Not only did this site not provide ANY sales for my husband's photography, they also refused to refund the membership dues the day after they processed the charges (they don't bother sending reminder emails). My husband has sold his art on several websites and done well for himself online, but this site is useless, pricey, and not customer service oriented. Save your money and sign up elsewhere.
This site is pure horror, for all photography fans... unless you pay for it.
If you don't pay, you are allowed to post 1 picture every 12 hours, or basicly 1 picture/day.
Paying members can post as many as they like... and very often the paying members have lowest quality pictures.
To highlight pictures, they have a scoring system by giving up to 50 likes per person on a picture... the paying members are allowed to have multiple fake accounts, so they can give themselves hundreds and hundreds of likes, so that the worst pictures are in the spotlight. This is just humiliating to all the "real" photographers with beautiful pictures.
This used to be a good photography site, with freedom to post your own work, but now it all changed towards business as usual... money, money money, and lots of photographers who have left this site to other, better sites.
And if you don't watch out... they just close your account without any warning at all!
Amazing images, easy and fun to interact. Just love the feeling. The best photography community! Love it
YouPic in general is a conservative mainstream pic site for herd of cattle socializing by sheeple who have no affinity with out of the box creatve photography. As for the photo admin, it is not even possible to delete more pics at once, it is that bad. Each time you delete a pic you are redirected to the "inpsiration" pic page, which is for real artistic creative photographers the least interesting portion of the site. As a new member you get stars, these are only given by the admin whose own gallery clearly shows that he is not a professional photographer at all, just a childish point shooter. After the tenth star that be it, unless you're a f-grade mobile phone point shooter. This site attracts folks who wanna gain points by socializing rather than by photography. That is my personal experience for over a year. Glad I quit.

I love the community and the support team. They have always been there for me and almost always answer within a day.
Constant messages about upgrading, discounts, last chances... can drive a beginner mad on this site. They clearly have only one goal in mind... make money. I was a regular member and once they started the "pro" accounts, photography comes in second place. I'm still a free member but not willing to upgrade because of this point of view.
Update juli 2022,
The amount of annoying pushing messages is pretty low right now. I admit I only use youpic not as often anymore but I think this improved a lot. (I only have a free account)
I love the YouPic community!
It's easy to use, I feel welcomed and I have met a lot of great photographers. Clearly the most active photo sharing space out there
Youpic is a scam. They used one of my pictures for promotion on instagram without my consent. You are as a photographer are just content to them. They don't care about you or your photography. They just want your money and your content. After expressing my anger and dissatisfaction even after a week of signing up they refuse to refund your money. Stay away people!
This is a great resource to showcase your photos. There is also feedback from other photographers which is helpful. In addition there are online photography courses that are included with your subsription, and information about upcoming photography tours. I like this site. It works for me.
I paid the full annual amount to get a platform for my nude photos.
Then my account was deleted without informing me, or refunding me my paid amount.
In my eyes this is a clear fraud!

I joined after ditching 500px after they got bought by a Chinese company, I started uploading my "fine art" photos and got lots of good responses, and actually more action thanm I am getting on Flickr. However, I took the offer to upgrade to a "Pro" account. Now I just saw that theyu had taken $119 out of my account to renew. But heres the thing - without giving me a heads up. So I wrote and told them that I had not intended to renew, and could I please cancel and get refunded.
Was told this is not possible.
I got back to them and suggested that it was indeed possible, but maybe just not their policy and wanted to know why not.
"You entered an agreement when you first signed up for the upgrade where we clearly state that there will be a renewal of the upgrade unless the subscription is cancelled before the renewal date. There was time to cancel the subscription earlier and we assume that those who do not cancel their upgrade before the renewal date wishes to keep their subscription. I'm sorry but we are not going to refund your subscription. "
Is it just me or is that rubbish? They have lost me as a customer for sure. I cant be doing with that kind of attitude.
It opens new doors to the world of photography and by seeing other photographer's works you can empower your photography skills.
Don't do it. I was approached via Linkedin to be a featured portfolio. I duly uploaded images and have now been locked out. Youpic have not responded to sorting it out. I am now wondering what my images are being used for. They also encourage you to upload HiRes images. Why a website needs HiRes raises concerns alone.
Trying to persuade people by kissing their asses first, then asking money to get a paid account. I mean come on. What age are we living in.
I would not put your time and effort here. Just post on 500px and be done with it
I joined a few months ago as I love the idea behind this page. Every beginning is hard and I know that they need to improve on many things and I didn't go in with huge expectations either. I signed up for the pro membership purely because I wanted to support the cause and I don't expect anything, but I have to say that I enjoy using the site, it's a good community so money well spent.
I'd say it's worth a try. It's free to begin with ( with limitations) and only pay if you don't mind paying.
Payed for 2 month pro version. So u can upload unlimited pictures. YOUPIC put my status pro but without the options! I did pay, I can show all. They just stop chatting after I payed. So my money did vanish. I keep send mails every day, not even a response.!
Yes, it's a very good site to showcase your photography and get invaluable feedback from other members. However, they have a feature called "The Inspiration Feed." Photos that are deemed "Inspirational", are shown on an ever-expanding wall. Members are encouraged to award a photo star if they are so inspired to do so. In other words, it leaves you to believe that the members would report their inspiration to other members. No. They will post a photographer's photo only if it inspires them. So, "The Inspiration Wall" is made up of what the owners of YouPic like. They don't seem to be professional or fine art photographers. Spoiler Alert: Lots of photos of squirrels and pouty young girls.
Answer: When you send a message to YouPic you will not get an answer. Most of the time it's an automatic generatic answer from the robot.
Answer: I wrote to them to ask the same question. Here was their response: "Its an activity fire we have." Not helpful at all!
Answer: Yes, I get many spam messages from Lisa in the website and to my email. They always ask you to upgrade even more and to ask you money.
Answer: Seems to be working fine for me.
