The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

Yelp is horrendous for small businisses and especially service based businesses. They take real reviews and hide them but what I find even worse is that if you pay for ads, you're charged per click. However, when the person who clicked on your ad messages you, they send that message to 5 over your competitors and then charge each business $25 - $30 if the potential customers responds. Thing is, they all respond now! Before they switched to that model, nobody would ever respond but now that they charge for replies, every single one responds.
I'll never use Yelp. I'm so thankful I figured out their fraud early on into my business otherwise it would've killed me.
Please, any small business with dreams to get advertised. Do not go with YELP. They promised you they are going to help you and they are going to charge you cheap money. Once you give them your credit card, they suck out all the cash they can from your credit card. If you cancel your credit card, they pay a separate fee to Visa to continue collecting money from your credit card. It doesn't matter how many times you change the credit card number. Mi personal in one month, they stole about $800, and they were supposed to collect only $400. This company is criminal on the internet. Do not work with them; they will make you regret that decision, and I never received even one phone call from any customer. SCAM-SCAM-SCAM-SCAM-SCAM-SCAM-SCAM they are SCAM!
Yelp does not care. They sell you a package and then you attract terrible leads. And once you stop paying them they send people who leave bad reviews and then tell you that you need to run more ads to attract better customers. SCAM
YELP! Your platform allows for people to slander businesses without provocation or credence. These could be disgruntled ex-employees, or just persons looking to cause trouble. Yet, your platform seems to indicate that ALL of these reviews are legitimate and people should listen and make decisions based on FALSE reviews to which business establishments they will support. When are you going to figure out how to stop false reviews, reviews from disgruntled ex-employees, etc., etc. that are RAMPANT on your platform. Don't be surprised when you have a major lawsuit involving your review platform that slanders businesses with absolutely no backing or proof this happened in the first place. I will be waiting and looking forward to that day! Consider this a 1 star review YELP!
Company is fake. They have sales people calling small businesses and those who don't sign up for their absurdly high prices in exchange for their fake promises are met with widely fake reviews in the following days. This company shouldn't be around.
Yelp is a dishonest company. They call my business attempting to solicit advertising, when I finally told them no, my old good reviews from established "Yelpers" were hidden and no longer considered in my score. I called to find out what happened to my great reviews and they "reccomended" I advertise with them to improve my rating! Absolutely not, Yelp should show all reviews and not selectively choose reviews and blame on an algorithm.
Worst review platform ever! If you don't pay to advertise with them they will hide most of your good reviews and highlight some very questionable bad reviews.
Run away and don't look back!
This place is horrible all around. Poor service poor product and even poorer values. You are making a poor choice to pay for anything this place is selling.
Yelp Salespeople will lie to you. Even when you tell them exactly what you are willing to pay for and not willing to do. They have a Pause Campaign button on their site, but it doesn't pause the billing for extra fees for having pictures and other elements of your profile.
They will do anything to support money from you have no ethics. Their business plans to extort money from small businesses
Yelp is the mafia of social media. If you're dumb enough to agree, the CONTINUOUSLY pester you and try to extort money from you. Then when you finally catch on and dump them, they make all your good reviews disappear and leave the two bad reviews up. This is a garbage company and I truly hope Karma comes to repay them.
DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I am a business owner myself and made the wrong decision by doing business with this company in the past.
They try to rip me off asking for a monthly payment otherwise burn my business. I said no and give 1 start review
Constantly bugging me at my small painting business. They got my wife on the phone once and were giving her high pressure about running ad. She gave them credit card #(big mistake) but didnt authorize running ad until she was able to review it. They went ahead and ran ad anyway. We live in Michigan and the only couple leads we got were in state of New York. They refused to refund. Stay away..
I was contacted relentlessly by Luke Mcarthy from yelp to get ads for my business placed on Yelp. I was told I had $900 in free ad credits and that my credit card would not be charged until I authorized it. A week later my card was charged for almost $200. Not only that, but once I noticed the charges I go on my Yelp account to find out that he has signed me up for multiple subscriptions without my consent. He blatantly lied to me about the process and what I would be charged for. After multiple unreturned emails I called and emailed Yelp customer service and still no response. I will never do business with anyone associated with Yelp ever again. They lie to get your business and then ghost you when you realized you have been scammed. I would put negative stars instead of 1 if I could.
Yelp doesn't bother to check on the reviews and will attribute reviews to your company that pertain to other company's in your industry.
They extort small business owners Pushy sales tactics and questionable billing practices is what Yelp is all about.
I found yelp to be dishonest and misleading. They constantly blew up my phone attempting to sell me higher ranked placement on their site.
After refusing to pay their ridiculous fee's over and over agian, they removed my 5 star reviews and coincidently had recieved a one star negative review.
I called them back to find out what had happened, that's when they offered to remove the negative review IF I paid them their ridiculous fee's to be placed at top of their pages.
For the record the negative review I recieved was irrelevant to my business and the name of the user was a person I've never heard of.
I own a small business and would easily remember names of my customers when I see them. The negative review was intentionallly placed and used as leverage to pay their ridiculous fee's. Additionally i requested my business listing be removed from their site and they refused... yelp is a trap.
I highly recommend legitimate and honest businesses to stay away from them. And to those seeking a good reliable business or vendor to search elsewhere.
So initially, I had signed up for YApp to promote my business. Since I'm a small business, I wanted to gain more clientele well they said they help me out by promoting ads, and that it would all be involved in a building threshold, which was covered for the first three months, not even a month goes by and I was charged over $800 and I got no customers whatsoever or any business whatsoever so I told them to cancel my account and I asked for a refund and they said that they would go ahead and file it and when I called the next week, I never got it filed and on top of that they wouldn't contact me so I had to contact them so I'm done with them
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
